I stayed with my mother. It was our first time at Misasa Onsen, and it turned into a wonderful trip. We relaxed in the spacious Accommodation, enjoyed delicious meals, and felt that a trip like this once in a while is really nice. Everyone at the Ryokan was kind. The fireflies and the Onsen town at night were beautiful as well. Because it is free-flowing from the source, this is a luxurious complaint, but the Onsen water was quite hot and it took some time to get used to it (especially in the morning). We were told that each person gets one bath towel, so please note this if you plan to bathe multiple times. The scenery was beautiful, so I’d like to visit again in another season.

Very convenient for skiers. Lift discount vouchers are available in the off-season in March. Unfortunately, I didn’t know about them on the first day and couldn’t use one. Many Hotels around here are like this, but it’s great that you can still take a bath after check-out once you’re done skiing. The open-air bath has excellent water quality, but it was a bit disappointing that after check-out only the indoor bath is available. The meals were more than enough, and I didn’t have room for the all-you-can-eat imoni soup and dessert. I wanted to have the imoni soup the next morning even if it was just reheated, but it seems it’s only served at night. I thought it would be nice if the foreign staff smiled a bit more, but since I train Hotel employees as a Japanese-language teacher, I tend to be overly critical. They are probably doing their best.

Everything was wonderful. What impressed me the most was the staff. They were always smiling and did their best to help, which made my stay very comfortable. The meals were delicious, but the rice at breakfast was too firm for me to eat... I think it’s just a matter of preference, but I ended up leaving some (sorry). If I have another opportunity, I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

I made a reservation with the Kamameshi Tasting Plan. The portions were larger than I expected, but the taste was so delicious that I finished it quickly. Considering the rising price of rice, staying for less than 10,000,000 yen per person is incredibly cost-effective. I would love to come again.

Thank you very much for a wonderful stay. The kaiseki dinner, in particular, truly moved me—it was the most delicious I have had in years. Each dish was carefully prepared, and both the flavors and presentation were outstanding. I would highly recommend it to everyone. My sincere thanks to the head chef for preparing such an exceptional meal. The Onsen was also lovely, with a great atmosphere, and I was able to relax and unwind. However, I was a little disappointed that the women’s bathing hours were only from 17:00 to 20:00. I would have been even happier if it had been available for longer. The Room was clean and comfortable, and overall it felt like a calm, private space that I really enjoyed. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I had used the Onsen several times as a day trip, but this was my first time staying overnight. The toothbrush provided in the amenities was a bit hard, but that’s easy to solve by bringing my own next time. Other than that, I had a comfortable stay with no complaints. My Room had a view of Mt. Jonen, but since I arrived at night I couldn’t see it then. I enjoyed Mt. Jonen the next morning, but I left in a hurry and couldn’t take my time to fully appreciate the view, which was a bit disappointing. Next time, I plan to check in while it’s still light and enjoy everything properly. I’d like to stay again. Thank you very much.

During the Obon weekend, when most places were around 20,000 yen, we were able to stay here at a very reasonable price. Because it was inexpensive, we didn’t expect much from the Room or the meals, but the Ryokan has been renovated and the food left us completely full. The coffee in the lounge after breakfast was a delight. The staff were wonderful and even saw us off when we left. It turned into a very satisfying family trip.

In addition to the bedroom, there is a spacious living room, and the amenities are fully stocked. The bath is an Onsen! You can also see Mt. Yufu from the balcony, making this a very satisfying stay.

The front desk staff were very helpful. The Room and bathtub were both spacious, and I was able to relax a lot. It was very convenient since the adjacent shopping center has most of what you need. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. It would have been even better if tea had been available instead of water, and if there had been dessert. Breakfast was also good.

The facilities felt a bit dated, as expected from a public accommodation. The room was a combination of Japanese and Western styles. While the Japanese-style side showed some signs of aging, the Western-style side seemed to have been renovated and was excellent. Although our room did not have a private bath, the large communal bath was conveniently close (it seems they accommodated our request for proximity due to my mother’s mobility issues). The room's location near both the dining area and the bath on the first floor was very convenient. The toilet and washroom were clean, making for a comfortable stay. The communal bath was also wonderful. The indoor bath had separate areas for washing and soaking, providing a peaceful experience when in the tub. The outdoor bath offered stunning views of autumn-colored mountains while listening to the gentle sound of a nearby stream—an exceptional experience available even late at night. Compared to the indoor baths, the outdoor baths were slightly cooler, perhaps designed for longer soaks. Above all else, however, it was the food that stood out as extraordinary! Despite jokingly mentioning that Gunma only has mushrooms, miso paste, and wild boar pork ("Inobuta"), these ingredients were crafted into delicious dishes with great care and creativity. The portions were generous; unfortunately, my elderly mother and wife couldn’t finish their meals entirely. The dishes made abundant use of fragrant mushrooms with mild yet flavorful seasoning—truly delightful! Miso paste seemed to be a local specialty here; its rich aroma enhanced various dishes beautifully. And then there’s sake! With around 40 varieties exclusively from Gunma breweries (if I recall correctly), choosing one can be overwhelming at first glance! We opted for their tasting set featuring five types (approximately 30ml each) priced at ¥1,500—and every single one tasted distinctively delicious! Individual glasses ranged between ¥600–¥800 per serving (about 180ml), making it hard not to deliberate over what next drink should follow! I particularly enjoyed "Hiraijo," while my wife preferred "Akagiyama," so we ordered another glass accordingly based on her choice afterward. A staff member who recommended these selections had extensive knowledge about sake which made conversations engaging throughout dinner service too! It’s no surprise this accommodation attracts many repeat visitors—it truly deserves such loyalty given how memorable our stay turned out overall. We chose this historic Ryokan because of its highly praised Onsen. In particular, the private bath "Shotoku no Yu" is a historically significant bathing area, and experiencing it was one of our main purposes for staying here. We had no complaints about the Facility, and the staff's hospitality was excellent. The food was delicious, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing time. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

Since I was staying with my child and we don’t eat large portions, we chose a restaurant where we could order dinner à la carte. The food was excellent, and we were truly impressed. The sashimi in particular was beautifully presented and delicious. The footbath was next to the smoking area, so the smell bothered us a bit, but everything else was great. The Accommodation staff, the baths, and the meals were all wonderful, and we would definitely like to stay again.

We were captivated by the Sunset Sun Road, which we could enjoy from our Room, the large Onsen bath, the dining area, and the terrace. Both dinner and breakfast were thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

Because of a sudden change of plans, we made a last-minute Reservation and stayed here, and it was far more enjoyable than we expected! In the lobby right by the entrance, there was a kids’ play area, board games, and a small complimentary ice cream service—our child was thrilled. Meals were buffet-style, with a wide variety of items stylishly displayed, which made dining fun. We were especially impressed by the many dishes featuring ingredients from Ibaraki. Even though our Reservation was last-minute, they handled food allergies very carefully—for example, providing us with a detailed list—which we really appreciated. Our Room had not been renovated, so we noticed a slight musty smell and some humidity. If we stay again, we would like to reserve a renovated Room. Overall, the staff were very kind and made our stay comfortable.

We were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. Dinner was just as rumored and absolutely delicious. Thank you very much.
