Before each stay, it has become our tradition to visit Niutsuhime Shrine—a UNESCO World Heritage Site about five minutes away by car. This time, we joined a talk held from 5:00 PM in the lobby lounge about Niutsuhime Shrine. The storyteller shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories that only someone closely connected to the shrine could tell; before we knew it, around 30 minutes had flown by. The next day after checkout, we visited Niutsuhime Shrine again and also explored nearby historic spots we learned about during the talk. It allowed us to worship from a completely new perspective—and we discovered power spots we never would have found on our own. The traditional house café near the shrine that was recommended to us was also wonderful, making this trip even more meaningful than ever! We heard these talks will continue on an irregular basis—if one happens during your stay, we highly recommend joining. We also heard that on some days there is a guided visit starting at 7:00 AM (meeting at the lobby lounge) for worship at Niutsuhime Shrine. No matter how many seasons pass or how much time goes by, this is a place we want to return to again and again. It’s truly a blissful hotel—so full of happiness that it feels impossible to find anywhere else!

I chose to stay here because of its charming atmosphere, and I was sure my husband would like it too. Before booking, I called to ask about the room amenities. The head chef handed the call over to a female staff member, but her tone felt a bit harsh, and for a moment I hesitated about staying. However, once we actually arrived, that impression completely changed. Everyone who assisted us during our stay was very warm and welcoming, with genuine hospitality, and there was nothing at all that concerned me. The property was spotless throughout, and the lounge was comfortable—I was able to relax at ease. Above all, the food was outstanding. Each dish was prepared with great care while considering harmony with soy sauce, and I could truly feel the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion behind the cooking. Although the dishes made excellent use of soy sauce flavors, they never left an overly salty aftertaste—even after finishing everything—and I enjoyed every bite until the end. Because dinner was so exceptional, I would have been even happier if breakfast had been a bit more substantial. Including not only the cuisine but also the atmosphere and overall comfort of the inn, it became a truly memorable stay. This is a place I would definitely like to return to.

I think this Accommodation is very comfortable for solo travelers. I was worried about using the bath because I wanted to use it as many times as I liked whenever I wanted, but I was able to enjoy it to my full satisfaction. Breakfast also offered a generous variety. It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to come back anytime. The shakuhachi performance was also a refreshing experience.

We had a wonderful time in a very clean room with excellent facilities. The meal was also delicious—a meat-themed kaiseki course that felt refreshingly different from typical ryokan cuisine. The location, in the Higashiyama area, was another highlight, making it easy to explore around Kiyomizu-dera in the morning.

This was my first time visiting Yuda Onsen. It was very comfortable, as we could use the elevator both for going to the hot springs and for meals. The portion sizes were just right, and I was pleasantly surprised by a new way of eating fugu sashimi with sesame oil and salt. Breakfast was also excellent—I enjoyed egg over rice with freshly shaved bonito flakes and even had seconds. The young proprietress and all the staff were very kind, so we had a wonderful stay. I would like to visit again.

The room felt more spacious than the listed size, and we had a comfortable one-night, two-day stay. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, and we truly enjoyed a wonderful time.

We arrived after climbing the slope of Mt. Daisen for a while in light rain and mist. Seeing the word “Church,” we hesitated for a moment, but when we opened the wooden lobby door, we found a charming space unified in an antique style—like stepping into a Kenji Miyazawa story. You can truly feel how much the owner couple and staff value and care for their guests. Once shown to our room, the fog gradually lifted, revealing beautiful views of Yonago’s cityscape in the distance, along with the Sea of Japan and Lake Nakaumi. The open-air bath on the terrace was pure luxury, soaking while taking in the spectacular scenery. Dinner was exceptional both in presentation and taste. We also enjoyed chatting with the dining staff, and the timing of each course was perfect. In this quiet natural setting, we spent blissful time that felt well beyond its price. A highly recommended Accommodation.

Room, bath, amenities, meals, and hospitality—everything was extremely satisfying. My grandchild is still very young, but we would love to visit again when they are older—I’m sure they’ll be delighted. Before that, we’ll be back again as a family (lol).

Everything was always clean, and I had a very comfortable stay! All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. This time, I chose the “Tajima Beef Colorful Kaiseki” course! They carefully explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. I was able to fully enjoy Kinosaki at night.

The building was simply wonderful. We stayed in the detached Room “Gion” with an open-air bath, and it was very spacious with high ceilings; the dark brown beams and pillars gave it a charming atmosphere. There were two semi-double beds, and they were fluffy and very comfortable. The in-room open-air bath was spacious and amazing (the view would likely be especially beautiful in late autumn or when it’s snowy—though getting there might be a bit challenging). Dinner was also very delicious.

The staff were very attentive, and the person who showed us to our Room was kind and considerate, which made our stay wonderful. The bath in the Room was spacious, the view was great, and the meals were delicious and generous in portion size. Everything was excellent, but I’m sorry I wasn’t able to eat the steak. We had such a comfortable and pleasant time that we will definitely return if our schedule allows. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay, and just as everyone says, it was a truly wonderful Accommodation. The food was delicious, the Onsen water was silky-smooth, the staff were great, everything in the fridge was free, and the price was reasonable. The view was beautiful and very relaxing. Also, since I love drinks, I was thrilled by the wide selection of rice shochu... Thank you very much! I’ll definitely visit again.

This was our third stay. We always choose the “Hacchan” room, and we are completely satisfied every time! This year, we came in spring for a soba lunch and stayed again in autumn. The room, the food, and the hospitality are always wonderful—we will definitely be returning. The new dog run is also spacious, and our dog loved it. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.

I’d known for some time that you serve wood-fired cuisine, and I was thrilled to finally try it for the first time! It was even more delicious than I imagined.

We were blessed with wonderful weather and arrived early, but we were shown to our room right away. After strolling around Kitamuki Kannon Hall, Anraku-ji Temple, and Joraku-ji Temple, we came back and headed straight for the baths. We used the 7th-floor bath in the evening and again in the morning; since it alternates between men and women morning/evening, both times felt completely private. We especially enjoyed the spectacular views from the open-air bath and the sauna. The water is silky-smooth and leaves your skin feeling wonderfully soft. Before checking out, we also enjoyed the private indoor bath in our room. We had a chance to see both rooms; although their layouts were completely different, both were spacious, with comfortable beds and excellent in-room baths. And then there was dinner—the highlight of our stay. This year’s matsutake harvest was abundant, and we were served an incredible variety and quantity of matsutake dishes unlike anything we’ve ever had before. Everything was outstandingly delicious—we were truly moved. The couple we invited was also amazed far beyond their expectations. When we asked our attendant, she told us that even in poor harvest years, thanks to 300 years of tradition and long-standing relationships, they can still secure plenty of matsutake even when they don’t appear on the market. The proprietress—often mentioned in reviews—was just as wonderful as everyone says. It all made sense: you can feel how her thoughtfulness naturally carries through to every member of staff. Since retiring, we travel almost every month, but this is the first ryokan that has impressed us so deeply. We would love to return at this time next year with the same group to enjoy matsutake again. Thank you very much.

It was our first time staying here!! Our dog was thrilled with the spacious yard. In the evening, we relaxed with a BBQ and a campfire—such a great time. There were also drinks and amenities provided, so it’s a perfect 100/100!! We went ahead and made another Reservation. We look forward to staying again next time!!

Three of us (all women) stayed here. The staff’s hospitality was wonderful, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. The bath was also clean and lovely. The sound of the waves was soothing and relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and we enjoyed chatting with the person who served our meals—everything impressed us from start to finish. If we come back to Yuhigaura again, we will definitely stay here again!

I was able to stay for one night after being on the waitlist. As others have written, both the Onsen and the meals were wonderful. The Room was spacious and thoughtfully prepared, and the bed was large and very comfortable, so I was able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. Thank you very much. Iya Bijin is an Accommodation famous for soba. I had carelessly forgotten this, and since my son has a severe buckwheat allergy, we made a last-minute request to remove all foods related to soba. During our stay, they took great care with the meals, and both dinner and breakfast were wonderful—such as ayu sashimi and dekomawashi—and my son ate so much it surprised even us. Of course, he had no allergic symptoms at all. Thank you very much.

My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do.
