As with last year, we stayed for two nights in July. This year, it was sunny every day for the first time, and we enjoyed the ocean obstacle course for two days in a row with our 8-year-old! We fell into the sea a lot, but because the water is so clear and beautiful, it felt much less scary. The seaside pool gets hot, but there was a nice breeze and it was comfortable. We could enjoy the pool from morning until night, the food was delicious, and we had a great three days at the Hotel! We also had shaved ice on the pool terrace in front of the restaurant—it was creative and delicious! Last year, getting around by cart was tough because of rain and wind, so this year we chose a Room near the front desk. But since it was sunny this time, next time I think we might choose a Room with a jacuzzi on the terrace.

We stayed as a family, and it was comfortable from start to finish! The building feels a bit traditional, but the inside is bright, and we could sense thoughtful attention to detail everywhere, which made it very relaxing. All the staff were pleasant, and the cleaning throughout the property was thorough. We wanted to play at the beach and also watch the sunset, so we worried about meal times—but it turned out to be unnecessary. While we were out, they prepared our in-room dinner, and for sashimi—where freshness is everything—they served it after we returned. When an announcement about the sunset played over the PA system during dinner, a staff member came by to turn off the grill so we could take our time watching from the rooftop bench. (You can also see it from your Room, but the view is better from the rooftop. To get there, you need to go up one flight of stairs.) At dinner we also enjoyed dancing grilled live abalone. (One didn’t move even after lighting it; when we mentioned it, they replaced it immediately, so we could eat with peace of mind.) I thought just the standard course might not be enough, but it was plenty. The bath was great because we had it all to ourselves. We also appreciated the lounge coffee and post-bath ice cream. Breakfast was filling and delicious as well. Overall, this Accommodation exceeded our expectations. There were many stylish places nearby and we debated where to stay, but I’m glad we chose Kaishu.

I stayed here as an Accommodation while traveling with my parent in their 80s. The building is a bit old, and the stairs are somewhat steep. The staff service, meals, and Onsen were excellent. My parent was very happy as well. If I have the chance to visit again, I would definitely like to stay here.

Stayed one night while sightseeing in Abashiri. The lakeside Hotel had a charming atmosphere and felt exciting even before check-in. Both the public areas and the room were spacious, with a calm, relaxing vibe that I really liked. Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style. I enjoyed plenty of seafood such as crab, sashimi, and sushi. The selection wasn’t overwhelming, and the soft-serve ice cream for dessert was rich and creamy. The bath area was also spacious, with a covered open-air bath, so I could soak slowly even in the rain. I went three times and was very satisfied. It turned into a fun sightseeing trip.

Although it is a bit far from Hakata Station and Tenjin, the free Shuttle Service to the subway and Nishitetsu train stations was convenient. The view from the Room is great, and it is quiet. The Onsen in the large public bath also felt smooth on the skin. Next time, I would definitely like to dine here.

The Room was spacious, and I was able to relax comfortably. The meals were also delicious. I was satisfied with the Hotel amenities and in-room facilities. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

Shizukatei True to its name, this Accommodation was wonderfully quiet and relaxing, far removed from any hustle and bustle, and surrounded by peaceful rural scenery. The road to the Accommodation was a narrow farm lane where passing other cars required care, but clear signs were placed at key points, and as we got closer, banners guided us along the route. Soba-an I had high expectations for the 80/20 soba served at dinner, but it easily surpassed them—it was exceptionally delicious. In addition, many dishes were prepared using plenty of seasonal vegetables, carefully cooked and beautifully presented. We enjoyed a wide variety of flavors and textures, as well as the visual appeal. Breakfast was also an excellent Japanese set meal with plenty of vegetables and a generous number of dishes. Oshu Hiraizumi Onsen The free-flowing natural Onsen water was a little hot, but we thoroughly enjoyed it together with the open-air bath. Finally, what impressed me most during this stay was the staff. From check-in to being shown to our Room; since dinner was served in-room, their smooth service and efficient delivery; after the meal, clearing everything away and then laying out the futons with equally outstanding efficiency; checkout was completed without any waiting time, and they even came outside to see us off afterward. This was our first visit during Golden Week as part of a family trip service day, and my family was truly happy and satisfied. We were deeply impressed by the professionalism of everyone involved.

Even though I arrived much later than the check-in time, the staff kindly accommodated me. I also enjoyed the wide variety of baths! Just one thing: many guests were barefoot inside the building, which I understand since it’s an Onsen, but if possible, it would be nice to have Japanese-style indoor footwear available (the disposable slippers in the Room were a bit small and hard to walk in), so those who want to wear them would have that option. Sorry for such a luxury request. I’m grateful to the kind front desk staff and to everyone on the team.

The road to the Accommodation includes steep slopes and narrow sections, so guests who are not confident drivers may find it challenging. On arrival, we received a warm welcome and had a pleasant check-in. The Room was spacious, spotless, and filled with great natural light. However, the Beppu view was blocked by overgrown trees outside the window; please trim them. There were many types of baths, and the iron-rich indoor bath in particular had excellent water quality. The private family bath and open-air bath also offered superb views, which we really enjoyed. Dinner and breakfast were luxurious, featuring only delicious ingredients—very satisfying. All-you-can-drink beer in the lounge is an irresistible service for beer lovers. It seems there are even more wonderful Accommodations in your group, so I’d like to try another one next time as well.

My son has become hooked on cycling the Shimanami Kaido, and he especially wanted to stay at this Accommodation again, so this was our third visit. The in-room bath is spacious and comfortable, and the meals—although it seems the chef has changed—are always delicious every time and have become one of the highlights of our trip. This time, for the first time, we signed up for the optional sunset cruise. We were able to view from the sea the places we had cycled during the day, and although there were some clouds at departure, we miraculously got to see the sunset as well—making it a wonderful memory. Cycling in extreme heat is tough, so next time we would like to return in spring or autumn.

We stayed here for my girlfriend’s birthday. Check-in after arrival was quick, and we appreciated being able to enjoy complimentary drinks. The Room also had a small flower gift, and we were able to relax in an ocean-view Room. The meals were delicious as well. She was very happy, so it became a memorable day. Thank you very much.

Staying at Accommodations is my hobby, and I also work in a related field, so I tend to notice a lot of things. When I arrived and saw the building from the outside, I was a little disappointed, but once inside everything was very clean. Many of the staff seemed new, but their earnest efforts despite being unfamiliar with the work genuinely impressed me. Even though I can get irritated easily, I forgot all about it here. The Room had an open-air bath, it was fairly close to the parking lot, the food was delicious, and it offered great value for money! There wasn’t any mist when looking up above either—overall, for a traditional Onsen Ryokan, it was wonderful and I had a truly pleasant time. I will definitely come again soon.

Due to the bad weather, I think I caught a chill after getting soaked in the rain and started feeling unwell after check-in. When I told the front desk I was feeling cold and asked for heating, they promptly brought a heater and a fan heater to my Room and even set them up for me—I truly appreciated it. They also kindly offered to deliver rice porridge to my Room, but when I said I wanted to go to the restaurant, they specially prepared rice porridge for dinner. Everything was served with warm smiles, which was incredibly comforting. Thank you very much. The next day I felt better and was able to enjoy Picasso at the museum before heading home. (The free-flowing hot spring water was excellent.)

From the phone call before our stay, the service was very courteous and pleasant. Many of the staff seemed young, but everyone was wonderfully attentive, and we were able to relax throughout our stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and it was also lovely to move to the lounge and enjoy dessert while taking in the view outside. We would definitely like to stay again.

I chose this great-value discounted Plan and decided to visit. When I arrived, a staff member came to greet me and guided me to the parking area and reception, which made me feel very reassured. The Room had been renovated and I was very satisfied. The hot-spring tour was fun, and I especially enjoyed the rose bath. There was plenty of food as well—I’ll definitely come again.

Stayed at Asarigawa Onsen for the first time in 30 years. Since the reservation was made the day before, room options were limited, but it was a spacious room. However, there was some noise from the pipes. Dinner was very delicious, though I wished for a few more dishes. The breakfast buffet had more variety than expected, and the curry was tasty. Next time, I’d like to try using the izakaya. The Christmas decorations inside were beautiful, and the live piano performance was amazing—I listened for an hour. The open-air onsen was nice, but I felt there could be more baths available. The staff's service was excellent; I’d love to visit again in a different season!

We stayed in a detached Room. There were four of us, and it was very spacious with a beautiful interior—we were extremely satisfied. From the open-air bath on the 11th floor, we had a panoramic view of Lake Suwa. The meals also included free alcoholic beverages, and the staff were very attentive, so we had a truly wonderful time. The Room was clean and new, with the fresh scent of tatami. The cuisine was beautifully presented and delicious, and the innovative menu with delightful surprises left a strong impression. The Onsen was comfortable, and the river view from both the private bath and the large public bath was wonderful. Even the showers use Onsen water, and the cold water after bathing is tasty spring water as well. This is an Accommodation we would definitely love to visit again.

The luxury of having an open-air bath in the Room. I found myself soaking again and again—at night, in the middle of the night, and in the morning. The meals were beautifully presented and more than plentiful, and I also enjoyed a variety of local sake. And there was the coolness unique to the highlands. In every way, it was a wonderful trip where I truly felt relaxed and unhurried. Thank you very much.

We stayed again following our visit last month! Many other Onsens tend to be quite hot, but the lukewarm Onsen here feels truly one of a kind. We also like that the meals are not a trendy buffet. Depending on the Room, you can enjoy a beautiful view of Mt. Fuji!
