We stayed during the New Year holidays with our Shiba Inu and family. Renting the entire cottage was very relaxing, and the beds were comfortable, allowing us to unwind. The private dog run was a great feature, and despite the freezing weather, our Shiba Inu seemed to enjoy it immensely. The staff were all kind and responsive, which enhanced our overall comfort. If there is a minor inconvenience, it would be that having a combined shower and toilet can be less convenient for larger groups. While having a jacuzzi and sauna is excellent, their location away from the shower room and adjacent to the dining area made them slightly less accessible. It was very dark at night, so bedside lamps or footlights would have been helpful. Since it was a family trip during New Year's holidays, we did notice that terrestrial TV channels were unavailable—a small disappointment for us. However, the meals were delicious! The Room was very comfortable; even in extreme cold weather conditions, we stayed warm throughout our visit in this lovely cottage where we could relax with our dog easily. We look forward to visiting again during another season!

We stayed with 4 adults and 1 toddler. For access, the location didn’t show up even after entering the map code, but we were able to arrive by searching “Kururi Sanso” on Google Maps. The road felt just barely manageable for a larger car, so going in a kei car was the right choice! The Accommodation itself was wonderful, and we had a very comfortable stay. The pool, mist sauna, and pizza oven were all amazing—we wish we had stayed two nights. We definitely want to visit again. If I had to mention anything, it would have been nice to have two bedrooms. Also, the pizza peel felt a bit small for the pizza oven, so serious pizza lovers might find it easier if they bring their own. The electric bug-zapping racket was also very helpful—great to have! The pool was so good that we went in three times and ran short on towels, so it would be nice if there were a few more spare towels. Also, although it wasn’t mentioned on the website, there were plenty of wine glasses provided, which was great. Next time we’ll come during the colder season. It was the best Accommodation we’ve ever stayed at.

I stayed for one night with a friend. We enjoyed cooking in the kitchen, knitting while watching dramas, and spending time at a relaxed pace surrounded by nature! The cabin was well-equipped with various utensils and seasonings, which was very convenient. Additionally, the distance from neighboring cabins allowed us to enjoy our stay without worrying about others. I would love to visit other SANU locations as well!

We stayed from 7/18 to 7/21 as a family of four: a couple and two children (6th and 3rd grade). We’ve stayed at several whole-house Accommodations before, but this one is by far the best!! This time we stayed in the Plumeria Room with a private pool, and the kids were thrilled! Whenever they had free time during our stay, they were in the pool. The kitchen was fully equipped with cooking utensils and tableware, so we cooked dinner twice during our stay (one was a BBQ) and made breakfast every day without any inconvenience. Basic seasonings such as oil, soy sauce, and salt were also provided. The large refrigerator had complimentary water and canned tea that we could drink freely, which was incredibly helpful. The Room was very spacious and stylish. The bathrooms were kept very clean, which made our stay comfortable. There were two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two toilets, which was very convenient when we came back from the beach and everyone wanted to shower. We requested BBQ equipment rental on the morning of the day, and when we returned from going out it had been set up on the terrace. The kids loved their routine of eating meat until they got hot—and then jumping in for a swim. During our stay we even found stag beetles by the poolside about twice—our son was beyond excited! Stag beetles, shiny jewel bugs, geckos; tons of crabs and hermit crabs on the beach; plus unlimited swimming in the pool—this place is paradise for kids. If we can come back again, we definitely will!! It became an unforgettable summer memory.

The weather wasn’t very good, so I checked in feeling a bit worried, but the staff welcomed us warmly and we had a very pleasant stay. We chose the bring-your-own BBQ Plan with no meals in a cabin, and since we were told the BBQ terrace didn’t have a roof, we brought a tarp just in case of rain. There was a small covered area, so we were able to use the tarp to stay dry and enjoy a wonderful BBQ while listening to the rain and taking in the scenery. With a meal-included Plan, it seems you can enjoy delicious food in a covered space, so choosing meals might mean you don’t have to worry about rain. Inside the cabin, the furniture and Facility were new, and it was very comfortable. Since there was no bathtub, I rated the Onsen/bath category as 3. I love baths, so it would have been even better with a bathtub. There is an Onsen nearby, but you need to drive there—so if you drink alcohol at dinner time, it might be difficult. After the BBQ, we enjoyed fireworks with our child. At night there is no on-site manager, but if you contact them via LINE they reply promptly, which was reassuring. In the morning when we realized we were missing something, they even brought it all the way to our cabin—very kind of them. We heard that deer sometimes come by, so we looked for them excitedly but couldn’t find any—too bad. Next time we stay here again, I hope we’ll be able to spot them. Because of the rain there were no other guests staying at that time, but thank you very much for welcoming us so warmly.

The towels and tissues felt a bit insufficient considering the size of the property. It would also be nice if there were a wider variety of tableware for meals. However, despite arriving two hours late due to traffic, we were warmly welcomed and had a very relaxing time, which made us extremely satisfied. Thank you very much. We look forward to staying here again.

We stayed with our dog and our family of four. We were moved to see wild deer on the way there. For our small dog, the step up to the sofa was a bit concerning. Having to lay out the futons ourselves on the tatami was a little inconvenient. The pillows were too high for us. The terrace was very pleasant, and our dog happily played on the lawn. Next time, we’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and relax at a slower pace.

We stayed here for our trip. The views from the balcony and the Onsen were breathtaking. We were pleasantly surprised to find refills for shampoo, laundry detergent, seasonings, and so much more. They responded kindly and quickly to our inquiries, and we had a wonderful time. We would love to stay again.

The building is beautiful, and the interior and Facility are stylish and excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the sauna, jacuzzi, and pool. Although rain was forecast, it cleared up, so we had a BBQ outside and spent an amazing time drinking while sitting by the bonfire. Our 1-year-old grandchild was delighted too, making it a wonderful family trip. The owner (?) was also very kind, and we would definitely like to come again. There were no meals included, and there are no seasonings provided, so you will need to bring your own. The sauna is wood-fired, so it may take a bit of technique to use, but the wood-fired sauna was fantastic!

An amazing location surrounded by breathtaking nature. In the morning, we took a walk with the kids through the great outdoors, spotting animal tracks and even wild squirrels and deer. It was a magnificent experience you can’t get in everyday life. What makes SANU special is being able to enjoy it all with peace of mind. From helpful communication before our Reservation to well-maintained Facilities and equipment, plus advance information about the surrounding area, there’s plenty of support to help you stay comfortably. Our whole family was able to enjoy this extraordinary experience with confidence.

I chose an accommodation where we could relax in a private space for a gathering with old friends. The kitchen was equipped with cooking utensils and tableware, allowing us to enjoy making and sharing sukiyaki together. Outside the window, there was a beautiful snowy landscape, and the time spent enjoying warm meals was truly wonderful. At night, the clear air revealed a breathtaking starry sky when we stepped outside. Spending time with old friends in peaceful nature offered a special experience that is hard to find in the city. The room was spacious and very comfortable, making it perfect for a multiple night stay to fully unwind. SANU seems to have multiple locations, so I would love to visit again!

We stayed here as a couple on our first trip to Amami Oshima. The high ceilings, large kitchen, lovely interior, sound system, shower, and above all, the uncrowded beach you can access directly from the Room were amazing. Taking the chairs outside down to the shore for sunset drinks, and enjoying coffee while watching a morning rainbow, was the best. At night, we could see countless stars from the rooftop. Since it’s in the countryside, it can’t be helped that there are insects. Next time we’d like to bring snorkeling gear and enjoy a Multiple Night Stay.

We stayed here for a Multiple Night Stay about a week ago. The Room was the perfect size for two, with simple yet refined interiors and a very clean feel. The bath was made of wood, so we were able to enjoy a relaxing and wonderful soak without even going to an Onsen. Since our Room had a kitchen, we cooked and ate ingredients we bought at a roadside station. In the beautifully maintained garden with great views, there were benches and tables, so we had breakfast there and truly enjoyed it while feeling close to nature—it was very satisfying. At night, we could also gaze at Aso’s quiet, beautiful starry sky. What made our stay even better was how wonderful the owner is as a person. They were genuinely kind and thoughtfully suggested travel plans in Kumamoto and Miyazaki tailored to us. They also introduced us to truly delicious restaurants and lovely places that you can’t find in guidebooks or on Instagram. (Actually, during our trip in Aso I lost my engagement ring, and because on the last day we returned to Aso after visiting Takachiho Gorge, we were able to go to the recommended bakery and Oshitoishi Hill—and miraculously, I found my engagement ring!) The rice balls made from their carefully selected rice were also exceptional. Thank you for giving us such wonderful memories in Aso. We would love to stay again!

I stayed here in midsummer, when the high was 35°C! The air conditioner was limited to 25°C, but even at 25°C it cooled the room well. The view from the bed was amazing, and although we decided on a campfire at the last minute, we were able to purchase what we needed and had a wonderful stay at this Accommodation. A supermarket is also nearby by car, and since you can cook here, making ajillo and salad became a great memory.

As a regular sauna lover, I stayed here looking forward to the wood-burning sauna, and it exceeded my expectations! Being able to do löyly whenever I wanted in the wood-burning sauna, then stepping outside for that icy “wow” moment—it was incredibly fun! Since it was midwinter in Nasu, I was worried about the cold, but after warming up in the sauna, it wasn’t an issue at all. We cooked using the wood stove, chatted while watching the flames, and whenever we got chilly we either soaked in the Onsen or warmed up a bit in the sauna even with our clothes on. Before we knew it, we had spent most of our time outdoors. Being able to enjoy Nasu’s Onsen was a huge plus! It has some of that camping feel, but with proper indoor toilets and showers—so it felt like living in an outdoor living room. It was a nature experience unlike anything I’ve had before. The Room was spotless, and the building design is beautiful. Falling asleep while looking out at the trees and starry sky through the large windows felt truly special. This time I came with friends and had a great time talking around the campfire, but next time I’d love to bring my kids and enjoy it as a family!

We were able to stay as a family of three in the grass-roof cottage we’d been eyeing on Instagram. At the end of a slope winding through the trees, the cottage came into view, and our child was thrilled. The open-plan living room has large windows with soothing greenery stretching out before you. Our child ran up to the second-floor bedroom, dove onto the comfy bed, and excitedly declared, “I’m sleeping here tonight!” There were three bedrooms, each with two beds. When we went for a walk around the garden, countless flowers were in bloom and it felt like a small village surrounding a pond. There’s a Baby Troll house and a Yoshibo house, and you can even go inside. The stamp rally is fun too—collect all six stamps in the garden while checking the map, reach the goal, and you get a reward! At the back of the garden there’s also a wooden deck where you can relax at your leisure. Enjoy coffee slowly—or like me, unwind with a beer while taking in the view. While we adults took it easy, our child had little adventures around the pond—chasing dragonflies and butterflies, spotting fish in the water, even trying to catch frogs—and looked like they were having an amazing time. In the evening: BBQ! This time we brought our own ingredients and borrowed the BBQ set on the terrace. My wife and child were both delighted. At night, the garden illuminations were beautiful—and there was even a large glowing tree! If it’s this stunning in summer, winter must be even more magical. I can’t help imagining it becoming a romantic spot for couples on winter nights… just my own daydream (laughs). The next morning, we used our stay perk ticket to buy bread at Kanel Bread across from us and enjoyed breakfast on the garden terrace—such an indulgent moment! Inside this Accommodation there’s a kitchen where you can cook. It had that coveted BALMUDA toaster and kettle; plus tableware from Arabia—irresistible for anyone who loves Scandinavian style. Even small touches made us happy: Sekkisei amenities and a ReFa hair dryer—each detail was exciting. When we went to reception for check-out, we couldn’t take our eyes off all of souvenirs—we wanted everything as keepsakes. Our child chose a dwarf piggy bank. Everyone on staff was kind and thoughtful as well; thanks to them we could truly relax and enjoy some luxurious downtime without any worries. We heard that grass roofs change their look with each season: green from spring through summer, brown in autumn, then pure white when snow falls. We’d love to come back again in another season.
