The room is spacious, clean, and has a nice modern Japanese style. The adjustable TV angle is a great feature. However, it’s very disappointing that the HDMI doesn’t work—no response even when using a Fire Stick. It would be appreciated if this could be addressed since I often connect devices for movies or work during my Hotel stays. Parking is free, and there are no other complaints.

Everything—from the service and the Hotel’s interior design to the teppanyaki and even the smallest details in the guest room—was perfect. It was a truly moving and wonderful stay.

I stayed for one night with my parents (three of us total) with both dinner and breakfast included. The Accommodation had a calm atmosphere centered around hinoki cypress, and I felt truly relaxed while enjoying the scent and warmth of the wood. The French dinner was carefully prepared dish by dish, and I was completely satisfied with both the presentation and the taste. Breakfast was also delicious, made with local ingredients, so I thoroughly enjoyed the meals throughout my stay. I also used the on-site public bath; since it was a weekday it wasn’t crowded, which allowed me to soak at a leisurely pace. Most memorable of all was the staff’s hospitality. Everyone greeted us with a smile and kindness, and their thoughtful attention to detail made me very happy. I felt comfortable from start to finish, and it was such a wonderful place that it naturally made me want to come back. My family loved it as well, and it became a great memory for us all.

I don’t usually write a Review, but I was so satisfied that I couldn’t help myself! This Accommodation is perfect for a trip to Kyoto!! Even though it’s relatively new, the hospitality is flawless—more attentive than many luxury Ryokan. The smile and greetings from the staff member who assisted us were wonderful, and every interaction felt genuinely pleasant. Of course, all the other staff were also excellent. We traveled with an 8-month-old baby, and they quickly provided amenities (a diaper trash bin). They even selected and brought welcome drinks to our Room—almost too kind. Since we made a Reservation the day before, we couldn’t add dinner. But because we ended up snacking while exploring Kyoto anyway, we were honestly full—so it worked out well! And they offer a late-night snack service, which was fantastic. Breakfast was also outstanding—you can make ochazuke or dashi ochazuke, leaving nothing to complain about. The Room was spacious enough that our child could sleep in a separate area. It was quiet enough for us to relax without worrying about noise. The bath was large as well, and being able to top up with hot water at any time was much appreciated. Overall, for exploring Kyoto (especially if you plan to focus on street food or want to take things slow and enjoy the atmosphere), with that location and service, I would absolutely choose this place again next time. This maisonette-style Accommodation has the living room and kitchen on the 2nd floor, with the bedroom, bathroom, and toilet on the 1st floor. In short, it was absolutely amazing! The Facility itself is new and very well cleaned, and all the kitchen features were very easy to use. It was more than spacious for two people, and we were impressed by how luxuriously we could enjoy the space. It’s a favorite place where we’d definitely like to stay again.

We stayed here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. From before our stay, the team kindly helped us with menu requests and planning a surprise, which made us feel at ease and ready for the day. On the day, we were picked up at the nearest station with the Shuttle Service, and we felt warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The Room atmosphere was wonderful—an exceptional space that truly felt like an escape from everyday life. The food was absolutely delicious, and we could tell how much care went into every dish. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding, and from our pre-stay communication through checkout, we were comfortable throughout. Our special anniversary became an unforgettable memory. We would love to stay again—this is an Accommodation we will definitely return to.

This time, three families (9 adults and 5 children) stayed for two nights and three days. Not only are the Facilities outstanding, but the staff’s attentiveness was truly exceptional—they noticed even the smallest details and responded flexibly to our requests, allowing us to enjoy a wonderful stay. Staying for two nights for the first time, starting the day with a sauna and spending a relaxing morning was the most luxurious way to unwind. Next time, we’d love to visit in winter and spend time watching the fireplace flames.

The staff, Facility, and meals were all beyond expectations and absolutely wonderful. There was a wide variety of welcome drinks, along with a coffee maker and tea provided. We also enjoyed welcome sweets, including daifuku. For breakfast, we had Japanese cuisine, which was surprisingly delicious. Every side dish was so tasty that we wished for more rice! It was such a delightful experience. We would love to stay here again!

Thank you for a wonderful stay. The Accommodation, with its charming thatched roof, was truly atmospheric. Even though we stayed for only one night, it felt like a special experience. In the quiet surroundings where you can really feel nature, we enjoyed carefully prepared dinner in the evening, and in the morning the colorful breakfast was as pleasing to the eye as it was satisfying in taste. The place is run by a husband and wife, and in particular the wife’s explanations were clear and easy to understand; she also expanded on our questions in conversation, which made our time there very comfortable. This is an Accommodation I would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing and healing getaway. It’s something you can only fully appreciate by actually going—there are many things I feel are better left undisclosed so you can enjoy discovering them yourself. The bath was deep enough to stretch out comfortably, and the hinoki scent was wonderful. It would be perfect if there were an optional plan that lets you enjoy sake in the bath. You may even be able to witness moments like a cicada molting up close, and if it’s handheld fireworks they can be done near the garden area—so I think it could also be great for families with children as a summer memory. It’s an Accommodation that made me want to return someday—perhaps during autumn foliage season at Mt. Kurikoma.

From the moment we arrived and stepped into the forest, we were captivated by the beautiful architecture. Lush greenery stretches as far as the eye can see, and the space—where white walls blend perfectly with tasteful furnishings—made us feel happy just being there. What impressed us most was the top-floor bedroom and the glass-walled bath. It felt as if we were floating in the forest, and spending time surrounded by nature was an unforgettable experience. The staff were wonderful—always attentive and courteous—which made our stay comfortable and worry-free from start to finish. We visited with our dog this time, and it was truly dog-friendly. Our pet stayed relaxed throughout and seemed to enjoy every moment. Above all, a morning walk through the forest is exceptional. The clear air and peaceful silence created a special kind of time that’s hard to find in everyday life. A place we would love to return to—and one we can wholeheartedly recommend.

This was our first trip to Shikoku by car from the Kanto area. Since my husband loves saunas, we often look for an Accommodation with a private sauna. This one isn’t completely private, but we chose it because the view from the barrel sauna is truly one of a kind. Right up until checkout, we were picking up shells with our child, spotting fish, chasing fast-moving crabs… and we were surprised to even see a ray-like fish. Even though we’re adults, we got way too excited—now that we’re back home, it honestly feels like the Urashima Taro story. For dinner, we had the “Tamatebako” shabu-shabu and added the optional sashimi. The photos didn’t show any carbs, but the shabu-shabu came with udon noodles to finish, and the portions were more than enough for our family of four. There were two types of meat in two tiers, plus plenty of vegetables—it felt very generous and good value. We couldn’t finish everything at night and had the udon the next morning! Are those breakfast croissants sold anywhere? They were so delicious! To the woman who explained everything in the building: when you showed us to our Room and saw that we’d bought lots of alcohol, you kindly said, “Please go ahead and use the fridge as soon as possible!” That thoughtfulness made me really happy—I wondered if you enjoy drinks too. Needless to say, the scenery was incredible. We were blessed with great weather and spent an unbelievably happy time there. There aren’t pajama-like items provided, so I slept in my sauna poncho—but Nishikawa bedding was very comfortable. It was also convenient to have two hair dryers. A drum-type washer/dryer would be even more convenient someday—please consider it (haha). Next time I’d love to book a Multiple Night Stay! Thank you very much for taking care of us.

This time, I stayed with my 93-year-old mother. I had informed them by phone in advance that an elderly guest would be with us, and they thoughtfully provided chairs in the Japanese-style Room and the in-room bath, and also took our mobility into account when arranging access to meals and the large public bath, which was a great help. The meals were also delicious, and we were very satisfied with this Accommodation.

This Accommodation offers heartfelt hospitality throughout—and you even get to stay in a rare, registered cultural property building. As you step through the entrance, you’re welcomed by a traditional architectural space with a high-ceilinged hall and the gentle smolder of firewood in the irori hearth. The cuisine is prepared with great care, with no shortcuts. There are three Onsen baths, with fresh spring water welling up directly into them, and separate time slots for men and women so you can relax at your own pace. We chose a Plan without an in-room toilet or bath, but it was a wonderful Room filled with the soothing sound of the river. Thank you very much.

Last year, I stayed here with my parents, who use wheelchairs, and we were truly well taken care of. I wanted to bring them to the Onsen they love while they were recuperating, and we chose this place because the Room had a bath and it was barrier-free. The Room was very relaxing, and the food was exceptional—my parents kept saying how delicious it was as they ate with such joy. Late at night, my father and I also enjoyed the ramen snack service and ice cream together. After that, my father passed away, so this year we stayed again in his memory. At dinner, you kindly prepared a set meal for him with rice and miso soup among other items. I was deeply moved by this unexpected gesture and couldn’t hold back my tears. We displayed his photo, shared memories of him, and enjoyed the meal. The Facility is wonderful, but above all else, thank you for your heartfelt hospitality. I would love to stay again!

I stayed at Naraya Ryokan before moving overseas in November. I won’t be back for a while, but I’m glad I had the chance to stay at such a wonderful Ryokan. The Room, meals, and Onsen were all excellent.

This time, as a repeat guest, I brought my son along to match his visit home. At the same price, we chose the early-booking perk and upgraded to a sashimi upgrade Plan. That choice was absolutely right—the sweet shrimp and whelk were simply delicious!! The other dishes were also perfectly seasoned, and the portions weren’t too large, so we could finish everything. Each dish was carefully prepared, and we were very satisfied. Breakfast was great too—the hearth-cooked rice timed to our meal was delicious. My husband prefers firmer rice, so it seemed a bit soft for him. I’d love to visit again just for the food.

I splurged on a one-night stay at an Accommodation I’d long admired. Having watched it on YouTube, I knew what to expect, but it was still an overwhelming experience. The attentiveness and demeanor of the staff in charge of my Room, along with their polite language, left a strong impression—it truly felt like a luxury Accommodation. The Room was absolutely wonderful, and the private bath was exceptional as well. The cuisine was stylish and very satisfying. They even accommodated my request during the evening performance, making it an unforgettable night that felt far removed from everyday life. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations over the years, and this is the best one yet. Thank you for such a wonderful day.

Nanzenji Sando Kikusui is a special place filled with everything we love, and staying here becomes a happy time to share it all with family. A beautiful Kyoto garden in fresh spring green, exquisite cuisine and wine, welcome Champagne, luxurious Rooms, and the staff’s hospitality—plus the one-of-a-kind location on Nanzenji Sando. Few Accommodations offer all of this. This time, we woke up early to join the dawn zazen session at Nanzen-ji Temple, which became an unforgettable experience. It is worth traveling here even if it means taking a flight just to visit.
