Dinner and breakfast included: Seiryukan, 8-tatami Japanese-style room — JPY 32,400 for 2 adults One dish after another came out—items like chilled pumpkin soup and eggplant aspic that are hard to make at home—and there were quite a lot of them. Everything was delicious, and both the quality and quantity were more than sufficient. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as lavish as dinner, but there was a good variety, and I had no major complaints about the taste. The “Meditation Sauna” was excellent. It’s dark inside with piano music playing very softly, creating a great atmosphere. The temperature seems slightly lower than a typical sauna, so you can take your time and enjoy it slowly. The other “Casual Sauna” is a standard sauna with automatic löyly. Both cold baths use natural spring water and are nicely cold—ideal for sauna lovers. This stay was mainly for wild bird photography. Driving slowly from the Accommodation along the prefectural road via Tsubetsu Pass to Lake Kussharo, we spotted birds such as grey wagtails, Hokkaido rock ptarmigan, and white’s thrush from the car windows, making for an enjoyable birdwatching trip. I do wish the room rate were just a bit lower, but given recent inflation that may be unavoidable. Considering what you get for dinner, I think they’re doing an impressive job.

This time, we stayed in two Rooms, Momiji and Yuzu. We were very satisfied with everything, including the service. However, it was disappointing that the bath in Yuzu was far from the Room and inconvenient to use. Thank you for your prompt help with our forgotten item.

I stayed with five friends and family members. It was an excellent accommodation with a sauna included.

This was my third visit to Itoshima, the first in two years. Last time, after heavy rain the day before, it suddenly turned into a midsummer day, and the breathtaking sunset—changing moment by moment against the vast ocean—was truly moving. I enjoyed delicious food and the relaxed pace that only an all-inclusive stay can offer. This time had a different atmosphere and some changes. Arriving in a downpour with luggage, I climbed the stone steps to check in. What surprised me right away was “10:00 checkout”! I never expected it to be an hour earlier—maybe a pitfall of being a repeat guest? I was told it was changed because lunch service starts at 11:00 with reservations… but 10:00 still feels far too early. Since we spend about four hours round trip for an overnight stay, we want to relax as much as possible. If possible, I hope you will consider setting check-in to 16:00 and returning checkout to 11:00—I would be glad if this request from repeat guests reaches you. This time we dined while watching the post-rain evening scenery, and the food was just as delicious as ever—I was very satisfied. The soup course in particular had wonderful Japanese dashi flavor and was deeply comforting, and the tempura made from fresh squid (prepared after sashimi) was especially appreciated; as someone who loves cooking at home, having a professional fry dishes is a real treat. This Ryokan felt surprisingly spacious and deep beyond what you’d imagine from the entrance. The Japanese-style room, with views of a waterfall and stream and the soothing sound of running water, was truly relaxing. When we went up to the third floor, there was a large hall, and in front of it a pond surrounded by forest. In any case, it was a quiet, calming place. Dinner was delicious for us—perfectly seasoned with rich dashi flavor. The selection of sake and wine was excellent as well, so we really enjoyed the drinks (even though we can’t drink much). It was fun talking with someone who holds a sake sommelier certification; they even let us taste a sake from a brewery in Yamagata that I used to drink long ago, which brought back fond memories and made me very happy. We had a relaxing and enjoyable day.

We ended up staying an extra two nights after the Nagaoka Fireworks. The location is very convenient for street food in Teradomari, fishing at the fishing port, and nearby beaches. The Facility itself is new and clean. The parking instructions were a bit hard to understand, but there is also parking in front of the Facility, and it seems fine to park there. The bath is not an Onsen, but if you look around, there are plenty of hot springs nearby. Highly recommended for international guests as well. We would love to stay again!

Located on a steep hill, access by foot can be challenging. The room provided a calm and private space, allowing for a stay without encountering anyone from check-in to check-out. Although not an Onsen, the water quality was excellent. No insects were seen during the stay, but insect prevention items might create unnecessary concern for some guests. On the other hand, waking up to the sound of birds made for a delightful experience in this beautiful location.

It was my first time staying at this accommodation, and it was a wonderful experience. The vegetarian cuisine was very delicious, including the kenchin soup and sesame tofu, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The private bath system allowed me to relax without any concerns. The morning service the next day was explained in detail by the guide, allowing me to learn a lot. I also had a chance to try zazen meditation upon prior request, and as a beginner, the head priest kindly guided me through it. I would love to stay here again when visiting Zenkoji Temple.

It was a wonderful Ryokan. We stayed one night at this Onsen Accommodation in the mountains, despite the unfortunate rain. Our plans changed because of the weather and we arrived early, but they kindly showed us to our Room, which we really appreciated. The food was also excellent. It had been a long time since I’d had such large, delicious sweetfish. The Onsen was great too, though it was a bit small, which was disappointing. Other than that, we were very satisfied with this Ryokan.

I stayed here while snow was gently falling. It was a huge help that they stored my luggage both before and after check-in. I stayed in Room 203. It’s a room with a balcony overlooking the garden. The room was very spacious, with a latest-model TV, a ReFa showerhead, a wide vanity, and a bathtub with a washing area. The toilet was fully automatic as well—everything was excellent. All amenities were MIKIMOTO. My hair usually feels rough when I use Hotel shampoo, but at this Accommodation it stayed smooth and silky. There is an guests-only lounge, and it was a lovely service that coffee, tea, and more were available freely until midnight. I also appreciated being able to take drinks back to my Room. I had coffee at check-in, and it matched my taste perfectly—really delicious. The breakfast I had been looking forward to was 100/100. I’ve eaten at luxury Hotels before, but this may have been the best I’ve ever had. Everything was wonderful, but what especially stood out were the yuzu-scented okara (unohana), fu dengaku, the white-dashi miso soup, and the dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet). When I mentioned it was my birthday this time, they decorated the guest room beautifully and even offered matcha—such thoughtful hospitality. All staff members were incredibly kind, with such a warm and homey atmosphere that made it easy to talk to them. Watching how warmly they treated other guests also made me feel happy. I think this is the best Accommodation—one that welcomes you warmly whether it’s for a special occasion or not. Next time I visit, I’ll come specifically to enjoy an unhurried Hotel stay. The service was excellent, and we had a very comfortable stay in a clean, well-cared-for Room (Japanese-style). The meals featured a great selection of local specialties and were both fun and delicious. However, I was surprised that someone on the same floor had a dog. I could also hear it barking in the Room, which was a bit unpleasant, and I wondered whether this is allowed. Other than that, everything was perfect.

It was a wonderful Ryokan, with outstanding architecture and Rooms. The Japanese-modern space, where different materials blend beautifully, was truly impressive. Walking barefoot indoors let us experience the feeling of staying in a traditional house with all five senses. Both the meals and the hospitality were excellent. In the morning, we were able to relax and fully enjoy the private family bath. The location was also great, making it easy to enjoy visiting multiple hot springs smoothly.

I made a Reservation to coincide with a visit to Minamiza Theatre. With Chion-in Temple right in front, the location is incredible. It was my first time staying at this Accommodation, and I was delighted by the warm welcome from the moment they held my luggage before check-in. The Room was more than sufficient for a solo trip, and there was also a thoughtful selection of tea and sweets. From the panoramic bath in the morning, I could truly see the red torii gate of Heian Shrine, and breakfast featured delicious Kyoto-style dishes. At check-out, they even saw me off to the exit; feeling happy that I had stayed at such a wonderful Accommodation in Gion, I then headed to Ginkaku-ji Temple. Thank you for your hospitality.

The open-air bath on the balcony felt absolutely wonderful. When I soaked in the hot water at dawn, I could hear Japanese bush warblers singing. Being able to look down over the dam lake was perfect for someone who loves high places. The meals were also very delicious, but it would have been even better if there had been a dry white wine option. Next time, I’d like to come again during cherry blossom season. Thank you very much.

Thank you for taking care of me on my solo trip. I was looking for an Accommodation where I could quietly relax and fully enjoy the Onsen and meals, so I chose Jinpyokaku. Even though it was a hot season, there was plenty of greenery, and the Room was clean, quiet, and truly private. It was extremely comfortable. In particular, the in-room semi-open-air bath with free-flowing natural hot spring water available anytime was outstanding. On the charming walkway to the dining area, I felt soothed by the courtyard while listening to the evening cicadas— a nostalgic feeling that’s hard to put into words. Dinner was served in a private room, and every dish brought out the best of each ingredient—I even found myself thinking how delicious vegetables can be. The shabu-shabu was wonderful as expected, and the deep-fried cod coated with buckwheat groats was especially delicious. The portions were more than enough, and I also really enjoyed the local beer. Above all, what impressed me most was the heartfelt hospitality of all the staff. Their manners were impeccable—almost too perfect—and their thoughtful care made me feel truly grateful. I wanted to rest both mind and body, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. Thank you very much.

Perhaps because it’s tucked away down a narrow alley, it was surprisingly quiet. The Room is very compact and truly relaxing. The bathroom and fixtures were spotless. All the light switches were conveniently grouped by the pillow, which made them easy to use. I write from time to time, and I felt I could really make progress here. Next time, I’d love to stay in and get some work done. For breakfast, I took a 20-minute walk and enjoyed a Japanese-style breakfast at their affiliated “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.” I was able to go without a Reservation. (The photo shows the Japanese breakfast at “THE MACHIYA LOUNGE.”) The beautifully arranged small dishes were outstanding, and I really got to experience the charm of a machiya townhouse. All of the staff were very kind. I highly recommend this place as well. In the end, I left something behind at the Hotel and only noticed after checkout, but they handled it with great care and courtesy. Thank you very much. I would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed as a family of five. It is in a quiet area near the Kyoto Imperial Palace, so we were able to relax. There was a private courtyard, and the view was lovely. Since there were five of us, it felt a bit cramped once three futons were laid out in the tatami room, but considering the price, we were able to stay at a very reasonable rate. We would like to stay here again when visiting Kyoto.

This was my first stay here to celebrate a friend. Thank you for the welcome fruit and the celebration plate. The view of the Kamo River from our Room was outstanding. For breakfast, I chose the Japanese set meal, and I was also able to enjoy items from the buffet, which I was very satisfied with. The Yuge Farm yogurt was especially delicious. The art tour was also excellent. By the way, I don’t think we received the Diamond member amenity…

We stayed for one night and two days. The Accommodation is along the Kamogawa River and close to Shijo, making it a great location. Check-in was handled by staff and went smoothly. We had a Reservation for a 4th-floor Room with a Kamogawa view; the Room was spacious and very clean. Best of all, the full-height windows let you enjoy an unobstructed view of the river all to yourself. You can even soak in the bath while looking out over the Kamogawa. Coffee and water were provided, and the amenities were well stocked. The showerhead and hair dryer are ReFa, which many women will appreciate. There’s also a drum-type washing machine and a small kitchen, which would be especially convenient for inbound guests staying long term. Inside the building, you can freely access the 2nd-floor lounge and the rooftop. The rooftop has chairs and tables, so you can enjoy the Kamogawa at night while feeling the evening breeze. We ordered shojin-ryori (Buddhist vegetarian cuisine) for breakfast, and it was delicious. It was delivered to our Room by someone who seemed to be from a nearby traditional restaurant or catering shop. The location, Facility, and food were all excellent. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience Kyoto in peace and quiet.
