This riverside Hotel offers an open, spacious view from the windows. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming, with wonderful smiles. Although the Facility is a bit old, it was clean and I had no issues during my stay. There were manga and complimentary drinks in the lobby. There was an ice machine on the 4th floor, which I was able to use.

The staff’s thoughtful hospitality, the dinner and breakfast, and the view from our Room were all wonderful, making this a truly memorable stay. The nostalgic Showa-era retro atmosphere throughout the building was also very impressive and gave us a comforting feeling, as if we were visiting my grandmother’s home. In particular, the simmered splendid alfonsino served at dinner was exquisite, and we were very satisfied with the wide variety of dishes. However, because everything was so delicious, there was more food than we could finish, which made us feel a bit sorry. If possible, having an option to reduce 2–3 items or cut back on heavier dishes such as hot pot dishes—while enhancing signature items like sashimi—would make the experience even more appealing. Housekeeping was thorough and we stayed comfortably, but we did notice some signs of age in parts of the Facility, so we hope repairs will continue little by little. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to use again.

It was a small Hotel, but it was clean and nice! There was a beautiful river right in front, and I’d like to go swimming there next time!

The house, nestled in the forest, was quiet and perfect for a restful retreat. The robatayaki and wild boar hot pot were also exceptionally delicious.

There is an accommodation located just up the hill of Shiroyama at the eastern edge of the grid-like town. The narrow and steep approach road is one-way, so there’s no need to worry about oncoming traffic. Even large buses were able to make their way up. Although the entrance area of the accommodation is narrow, once you unload your luggage, valet service will take care of parking your car. Walking downhill from the accommodation leads to a main tourist spot, and it’s also conveniently close to the station, making it a great base for exploring. The interior is spacious with intricate design details. The staff are kind and attentive in their interactions. The room faces west with no tall trees obstructing the view, offering a wide panorama of the entire town that can be enjoyed both from inside and from the terrace with an open-air bath. (The view may vary depending on room orientation.) The private open-air bath in each room maintains an ideal temperature all day and night; it’s made of stone and spacious enough for a family to enjoy together. A shower room is conveniently adjacent. On our stay date, fireworks lit up Takayama city, which we watched for about an hour while leaning against the terrace railing. Meals are served in semi-private booth-style seating with sunken kotatsu tables. A quiet group of Western guests dined together in a large hall nearby.

A quiet port town accommodation located at the southern tip of Shimoshima, Amakusa. This time, I stayed with no meals included, but the location is known for its fresh seafood. There is also a famous sunset spot nearby where you might be lucky enough to see the sun setting over the horizon. The building shows its age, but features like the tiled bath give it a nostalgic charm. The staff were very kind and made my stay comfortable and pleasant.

I truly felt the warm hospitality of this wonderful family throughout my stay. I never expected they would host a mini concert or a stargazing event. A standalone Hotel with nothing around? Not at all—first, you’ll be amazed by the superb Onsen. The moment you stroke your left shoulder with your right hand and your right shoulder with your left, you can feel how pleasantly smooth the water is. Meals are served in a private dining room, so you can relax and take your time. If only the futon mattress were thicker and the TV one size larger, it would be absolutely perfect!

We chose to spend my husband’s birthday relaxing at an Onsen Accommodation and stayed at Satsuki. All the staff were kind, and the interior was lovely, with a wonderful blend of renovated areas and original features. The Onsen truly felt like a moisturizing lotion and was incredibly soothing. The meals were outstanding, thoughtfully incorporating local ingredients, and we were completely satisfied. We also appreciated being able to enjoy plenty of my husband’s favorite beer. They even prepared a birthday-style dessert for him. Breakfast was excellent as well. We would love to visit again with our children. Thank you very much!

I stayed during the May holiday period. There were many day-use bath visitors, so it was crowded and I couldn’t relax. It would have been better if I could have used the baths at night and in the morning.

A quiet and historic accommodation with a splendid courtyard, featuring spacious rooms and no particular issues with meals or the bath, made for a relaxing and enjoyable trip with friends. The senior staff members were working hard, but it seemed understaffed as no one appeared promptly at the dining area when we arrived. When we called out, it seemed they couldn't hear us, which was slightly inconvenient. Additionally, the shower in the room's bidet toilet did not work, and the TV only displayed terrestrial channels; these areas could use improvement. Overall, I was satisfied. Thank you very much!

During Golden Week, Ryokan prices tend to rise, but recently many have been priced higher than expected. However, the pricing at this Ryokan felt reasonable. It wasn't too cheap or too expensive—just the right amount to feel satisfied. The meals were reasonably delicious, and the bath temperature was perfect. However, the bath area was a bit small, so it felt like you might leave if someone else came in. Overall though, I really appreciated how this Ryokan maintained its quality without setting overly high prices in today's market.

The parking lot is a bit hard to find, but the staff's service is excellent. The Room is spacious for a Business Hotel.

The facilities felt a bit dated, as expected from a public accommodation. The room was a combination of Japanese and Western styles. While the Japanese-style side showed some signs of aging, the Western-style side seemed to have been renovated and was excellent. Although our room did not have a private bath, the large communal bath was conveniently close (it seems they accommodated our request for proximity due to my mother’s mobility issues). The room's location near both the dining area and the bath on the first floor was very convenient. The toilet and washroom were clean, making for a comfortable stay. The communal bath was also wonderful. The indoor bath had separate areas for washing and soaking, providing a peaceful experience when in the tub. The outdoor bath offered stunning views of autumn-colored mountains while listening to the gentle sound of a nearby stream—an exceptional experience available even late at night. Compared to the indoor baths, the outdoor baths were slightly cooler, perhaps designed for longer soaks. Above all else, however, it was the food that stood out as extraordinary! Despite jokingly mentioning that Gunma only has mushrooms, miso paste, and wild boar pork ("Inobuta"), these ingredients were crafted into delicious dishes with great care and creativity. The portions were generous; unfortunately, my elderly mother and wife couldn’t finish their meals entirely. The dishes made abundant use of fragrant mushrooms with mild yet flavorful seasoning—truly delightful! Miso paste seemed to be a local specialty here; its rich aroma enhanced various dishes beautifully. And then there’s sake! With around 40 varieties exclusively from Gunma breweries (if I recall correctly), choosing one can be overwhelming at first glance! We opted for their tasting set featuring five types (approximately 30ml each) priced at ¥1,500—and every single one tasted distinctively delicious! Individual glasses ranged between ¥600–¥800 per serving (about 180ml), making it hard not to deliberate over what next drink should follow! I particularly enjoyed "Hiraijo," while my wife preferred "Akagiyama," so we ordered another glass accordingly based on her choice afterward. A staff member who recommended these selections had extensive knowledge about sake which made conversations engaging throughout dinner service too! It’s no surprise this accommodation attracts many repeat visitors—it truly deserves such loyalty given how memorable our stay turned out overall. Thank you sincerely for providing us such an incredible travel experience!

The building and Room have a retro Showa-era feel, but the Room was well cleaned and felt very tidy. I made a Reservation expecting good meals, and there were many dishes—every one was delicious. It exceeded my expectations. The children’s meal also had many kid-friendly options, and my child was happy. The staff were very helpful, and I’d like to stay here again when I’m in the area.

Because reviews were so mixed, I entered the Hotel feeling a bit nervous. The parking was close, the Room amenities covered the basics, the bedding was fluffy, and the Room was clean. I can see that opinions may differ about the bath and toilet, but I had no issues. The unit bath was indeed small, so I used the showers in the public bath. I would like to stay here again when visiting Omuta. Thank you for your hospitality.

We used the BBQ grill and a guest room. It was our first time having a barbecue with friends. We knew charcoal was sold here when we made the Reservation, but we didn’t know how many kilograms it came in, so we brought our own 3 kg bag from a home improvement store. (That was enough for us.) We also brought a grill grate, but we didn’t know the size of the BBQ grill, so in the end we bought fire starters and an additional grate at the shop. (The grate in the photo was purchased at the shop.) The bath area has one sauna and one hot tub, and the washing area is spacious and easy to use. It’s a Facility we’d like to use again if we have another chance.

The building is old, but the reception service was excellent and satisfying. The ramen in the dining hall was also delicious. The bath had a pool, which felt unusual, but I enjoyed swimming. It would have been nice to have disposable toothbrushes available. Since it was a weekday, there were few people, which was great.

I had reserved a Room without a bath or toilet, but they kindly upgraded me to a Room with a toilet. Thank you very much! I usually stay at budget Business Hotels with No Meals Included, but Yasugien offers an Onsen and breakfast for about the same price. Personally, I felt like I’d found a great Accommodation! The Room and building feel a bit dated, but the toilets and wash areas were spotless and very pleasant to use. There are two types of Onsen: a large public bath and a private family bath with an open-air bath. The family bath is available 24 hours, so I was happy to enjoy the Onsen whenever I wanted. Best of all, it’s just a 30-second walk to the Adachi Museum of Art (lol). It often gets crowded even on weekdays, so I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to visit early in the morning and take their time. You can also buy discounted admission tickets at the Accommodation. I’d love to stay here again when I visit the Adachi Museum of Art!

There is a wide variety of breakfast options, and I ended up eating too much with refills. The staff, especially the dining hall staff, greeted us with warm smiles, which made the experience very pleasant. I would love to stay here again.
