I visited with a friend for our once-a-year, slightly indulgent girls’ trip. The Accommodation seems to be located right in front of a local bus stop, but part of the national highway on the bus route was closed due to a landslide and buses were taking a detour, meaning extra travel time from both Takayama and Matsumoto. So my friend drove from Nagoya instead. We took a short break at the Hirugano Kogen Service Area to enjoy the magnificent scenery, and arrived comfortably in just under three hours with no traffic. There were spots with some snow remaining along the sides of the road, but there was no snow on the road itself. Even so, it gets cold in the mornings and evenings, so winter tires are recommended for peace of mind in case of icy conditions. The building is kept impeccably clean and is wrapped in a pleasant quietness and the lovely aroma of charcoal from the irori hearth—while our Room had no odor at all. We were welcomed into a spacious Room with delicious homemade pound cake as part of their hospitality, and as we chatted comfortably, time flew by. The cuisine was truly outstanding—bringing out the full flavor of each ingredient while presenting combinations and plating unlike anything I’d experienced before, far exceeding its reputation and my expectations. As richer foods have started to leave me feeling heavy or unwell the next day over recent years, I especially appreciated how refined every dish was; it felt like food I could happily enjoy even in my 80s without any heaviness. The chef’s and staff’s genuine desire for guests to enjoy themselves came through clearly. Perhaps because of the high altitude, alcohol seemed to hit more quickly—and since I also wanted to bathe—I unfortunately didn’t get around to trying the local craft beer or sake provided in our Room. Still, stepping outside after the sauna into crisp mountain air with grand peaks right before us felt incredible. The private hot Onsen bath attached to our Room—hotter than expected—with jazz at night and birdsong in the morning was pure luxury: an unbelievably relaxing stay beyond what I could imagine. I’d love to return to experience another season’s cuisine as well—I’ve become a true fan. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

We stayed as a family, and the owner's warm hospitality was truly wonderful, making it a delightful stay for our children as well. The owner kindly played with the kids and gently taught them how to fish, showing great kindness. There is also a famous shop nearby selling Sata Andagi, which was delicious. However, the children were overjoyed and said that the handmade Sata Andagi from the owner's wife was "absolutely better!" The lagoon right in front offers an excellent location for kayaking. Unfortunately, due to wind conditions this time, we couldn't visit 17ND. We are determined to try again next time! We will definitely return!

During the Obon holiday, we spontaneously decided on a trip to Iwate and were lucky to find availability for accommodation. We stayed as a couple in a luxurious traditional Japanese house located on the site of an old castle. We bought local ingredients and sake from a nearby supermarket and enjoyed cooking ourselves. The joy of savoring fresh vegetables and meat we personally selected is one of the unique pleasures of having the entire place to ourselves. The facility provided plenty of dishes and glasses for use. For breakfast, complimentary homemade crispy green peppers, eggplants, rice, and more were offered. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are modern and comfortable. The surroundings are incredibly quiet, with sounds of insects at night and birds in the morning creating a nostalgic countryside atmosphere. As someone who grew up in an old countryside house myself, I found many inspiring ideas for renovations here. The owner was kind throughout our stay while maintaining just the right amount of distance for comfort. This is a place that makes you want to return every year. Thank you very much!

I have traveled to many places, but this was an indescribably wonderful space where I had a truly great time. Despite the unfortunate rain, I was able to enjoy the outdoors without getting wet. Bringing my dog, enjoying the open-air bath, and experiencing outdoor activities—all my wishes came true!

Opening the front door reveals an ocean view, and the Room has been beautifully renovated—clean, spacious, and wonderful. However, there was a lot of dog hair from a previous guest on the floor and sofa. The stick vacuum was out of charge, so we used the provided lint roller to clean. There was no liquid left for the vape-type insect repellent. Also, since there is no night light on the second floor, a stand light had been provided as an alternative, but it was broken. The floors did not feel thoroughly cleaned, which was a bit disappointing. The BBQ grill didn’t seem to get hot enough—at first I thought it might be broken, though now I think it may have been due to how it’s operated. That said, the area is a quiet residential neighborhood with a supermarket nearby. The view from the windows is amazing—you can see the sea—and at night the stars are beautiful. Most cooking utensils and seasonings are provided. There’s no TV service, but Wi-Fi is available and you can project Netflix and other content onto the wall for a home-theater experience. The interior has been renovated; upstairs is set up as bedrooms; and both the toilet and bath are very clean. The air conditioning works well. The best part by far is the continuously flowing open-air bath: both the indoor bath and open-air bath are natural Onsen. The round open-air bath is about 160 cm in diameter and can fit three people comfortably. It helped us forget everyday life and truly relax. We also appreciated receiving a paella meal kit as a seasonal perk—thank you for your thoughtful hospitality. We booked again because we trust that making a Reservation through IKYU won’t disappoint. Overall, it was very good—a wonderful time—and our dog enjoyed it too.

Your wife’s cooking was absolutely delicious. We stayed for two nights, and the beef stew on the second night was so tender it fell apart. You even added rice to the leftover stew, and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. The breakfast bread was also excellent, and the homemade jam was fantastic. It seems some of the ingredients were freshly harvested from your field as well—thank you for all your hard work in the heat, including weeding. You also saw us off on our departure until our car turned the corner. Thank you very much!

I stayed for one night. The tatami mats were clean, and I received a bathing ticket for a nearby Onsen. You make your own futon bed. The door is a sliding door, but it has an auto-lock. I was on a tight budget, but this Accommodation reminded me of old-style Japanese guesthouses and Ryokan, where you felt closer to others.

We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our grandson's 2nd birthday. The spacious layout was more than enough for five people, and we were thrilled with the large outdoor area. The barbecue facilities, bath, sauna, and open-air bath were all spotless and perfect. The couple who welcomed us were incredibly kind, making our stay very pleasant. At night, we even enjoyed a snowy (sleet) view as a delightful surprise—likely the first snow experience for our grandson. Thank you so much for everything!

Stayed at the end of October with my wife. It was indeed a charming pension inspired by the Green Gable House with its gable roof and fireplace. The interior was polished and exuded cleanliness. The elderly owner was very friendly, kind, and accommodating. The family bath was spacious and spotless. While there were mentions in reviews about the aging facility, it was meticulously cleaned, so I didn’t find it bothersome at all. The family bath was also exceptionally clean. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh vegetables that my wife thoroughly enjoyed as well. Although it is set to close by the end of next year, I am determined to visit again before then. This is a pension where families can stay comfortably without worry!

The hostess was incredibly kind. We chose a meal-included Plan. Dinner was a delicious set course, and breakfast came with many small side dishes and was more than filling. We were very satisfied with the private bath, which is available on a first-come, first-served basis if it is not in use at the time. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

Everything was kept very clean, and it was truly comfortable. The milky white sulfur hot spring bath was also outstanding. Above all, the landlady’s cooking deserves special mention for how delicious it is. Even now that I’m back home, I can’t get the clear highland air, the breathtaking views of Mt. Norikura, and the star-filled sky that felt within reach from the open-air bath out of my mind. Thank you very much. I will definitely come again.

After climbing Mt. Inaboshi in Kuju as a couple, we stayed here. It rained throughout the hike and we got quite cold, but after coming down, soaking in the warm Onsen, enjoying our favorite beer, and having a delicious course meal was the best. We were comforted by the warm hospitality of the couple who run this Accommodation. We would love to stay again if we have the chance.

Dinner was outstanding from appetizers to dessert, both in presentation and flavor. The herb-roasted chicken main was so delicious I could have eaten several servings. It was also great that the portions of pizza and pasta could be adjusted depending on how hungry we were. The bath was spacious as well, and it helped us relax after a long drive. We also appreciated having items like clothespins and extension cords available in the hallway for guests to use freely. The homemade jam at breakfast was delicious too—I ended up eating too much bread. We’d love to visit again during the snowy season.

The exterior is beautiful, and the garden is lovely. Fresh flowers at the entrance and the charming interior design made everything feel stylish and exciting to look at. The cookies and tea provided during check-in were absolutely delicious. The room was spacious, with a tatami area that allowed us to relax comfortably. The complimentary water was also appreciated. Meals were abundant for both dinner and breakfast, featuring fresh sashimi and delicious herb-infused dishes that soothed both our hearts and stomachs—everything was incredibly tasty. Everywhere was spotless, showing great attention to cleanliness, which made our stay comfortable and worry-free. The bath experience was wonderful; we enjoyed a relaxing soak in the open-air bath. Additionally, having views of the ocean from both the restaurant and room added an extra special touch. Thank you for gifting us rosemary upon departure—it filled our car with a soothing aroma on the way home! We shared some with my parents who immediately used it in cooking; they loved how flavorful it was! Thanks to the owner’s hospitality, this trip became truly memorable. We are deeply grateful for your kindness during our stay at such a wonderful accommodation. We look forward to visiting again in the future!

Booked a great-value room at the last minute. There is an Onsen, free tea in the lobby, and all the staff were very helpful. They also introduced us to the stone-paved streets of Ochiai, which made our trip very fulfilling. Thank you.

We stayed with one adult and two preschool-aged children. There was also a dining hall right next door. They also had a washing machine and dryer, so we were able to do the kids’ laundry. We only brought a few changes of clothes, so it was a huge help.

This was my first time using the service. After arriving at the Stays, I completed the check-in and entered the Room, which, although not new, was clean and tidy. The cleaning was thorough, allowing for a pleasant stay. The breakfast was delicious, and I was very satisfied with the unlimited refills of coffee, bread, and more. Thank you very much.

- The Facility was still very clean and well maintained, with effective air conditioning, so it was comfortable. - Heart Rock and Tokei Beach were just a short drive away, which was convenient. - The staff were kind and lent us packing tape for the cardboard box we needed to ship our luggage home, responding helpfully without any fuss. - Since there were five adults and three children, we rented two buildings; we appreciated that you arranged the Rooms to be facing each other. - The road leading up to the property is unpaved, and with the rain our rental car got covered in mud. - There was no dining table in the dining area, which made meals inconvenient. It would also be nice to have at least some basic seasonings. - We stayed for three nights and four days. Unfortunately it rained every day so the trip was a bit disappointing, but we still managed to swim in the ocean one day and have one BBQ as well. From the BBQ area we could even catch a glimpse of the sun setting despite the cloudy sky. I think it would have been much more comfortable in clear weather, so I’d like to come back again next time for a retry. Overall, I felt it offered excellent value for money.

I stayed with the No Meals Included plan, and everything about the stay was perfectly fine, but I was especially impressed by the excellent service from the woman at the front desk. If I have another opportunity, I think I will stay here again—thank you in advance for your kind assistance at that time.

The Facility itself feels a bit dated, but the meals were delicious, with many dishes featuring seasonal local ingredients. The Onsen water was also excellent, and the Room had a reliable internet connection. Overall, we were very satisfied.
