We stayed in a twin Room with a view of Sakurajima for a Multiple Night Stay. The Room was compact but had everything we needed, and we were able to relax comfortably. On the day of our stay, you kindly stored our luggage from the morning, which allowed us to head out for sightseeing around Sakurajima at a leisurely pace. When we returned to the Hotel, our luggage had already been brought up to our Room, which we really appreciated. The chicken rice for breakfast was very delicious. Combined with the calm and pleasant service from the staff who served it, it made for a wonderful breakfast time. The complimentary coffee was also excellent. The front desk staff were cheerful and welcoming as well. What made us happiest was, without question, the outstanding value for money. We also used early-bird and Multiple Night Stay discounts, but we were genuinely surprised that such high-quality service could be provided at this price point. My wife was also delighted and said, “It’s such a great Hotel—I’ve become a fan.” It turned into a wonderful trip. Thank you very much.

While the building is undeniably old, the interior has been renovated and was clean and comfortable. The reason it wasn’t a perfect score is that I was startled awake by very loud noises, such as doors opening and closing on the same floor and what sounded like someone using the bath on the floor above. The hot spring water quality was excellent!! It would have been perfect if the bath were a bit larger. Although it’s a little far from the station, it’s close to Lake Suwa and in a great location for sightseeing, so I recommend it.

We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had a detached guesthouse with an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and thanks to that we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen. I usually don’t spend much time bathing, but the open-air bath felt so wonderful that I soaked in it many times. The Room was a Japanese-Western style room, but since I have trouble with my legs, I thought it would have been nice to have a chair. The older Room had a slight musty smell, but we were able to stay comfortably without any issues. We had dinner at the dining area. There were many dishes, and the salt-grilled yamame trout and grilled wagyu beef were outstanding. The service was attentive as well, and each dish was brought out at just the right time. We also received sparkling wine for the birthday celebration, which made my husband very happy. When we left, we were given souvenirs (the croissants were incredibly delicious) and even seen off by the staff. It was a very fulfilling two days. We will visit again. Thank you very much.

I stayed with my elderly mother. After letting them know in advance, they prepared a Room close to the bath and even provided a legless chair, which we truly appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, and each one was delicious—we were very satisfied. My mother was especially happy to enjoy many different dishes little by little. The bath was a milky, cloudy hot spring, with the temperature just right, and it felt wonderful no matter how many times we went in. We were able to relax and spend quality time together as parent and child while warming up slowly. Most Accommodations provide only one small towel, but here there was an extra small towel in addition to the amenity set (with towels), which I found very convenient. The experienced staff had a calm, reassuring “true hotel professional” manner, and their explanations about the facilities were very thorough. The international staff also made a great effort to explain things in Japanese, and their friendly smiles left a strong impression. I think this is an Accommodation with warm hospitality that is also considerate for families traveling with elderly relatives. I would love to visit again with my mother.

Conveniently located near the station, with plenty of options for dinner nearby, and parking close by as well. The bath was great, with two tubs at different temperatures. What I especially liked was the non-buffet breakfast—it felt like we were treated to delicious local specialties from Shinshu that we don’t often get to try. I’d love to stay again.

Overall, it was a very satisfying trip. First of all, everyone at the Accommodation was thoughtful and attentive, and they took great care of us. The Accommodation is built spanning a gorge, and together with the surrounding walking paths it was a very pleasant place. The open-air bath in the Room was excellent, and it also had a washing area, so one of the three of us was always in the bath. However, the large public bath felt fairly ordinary, and the hours were short as it was only open until 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Also, we received free café vouchers, but we were told we couldn’t add milk or lemon either, which left us with a slightly stingy impression. That said, as I mentioned at the beginning, our family of three had a wonderful trip overall—thank you very much.

My wife and I visited from Kyoto. As it had not been long since the renovation, everything was very clean, and we had a comfortable one-night stay. The open-air bath in the guest room lets you fill it yourself—add cold water if it’s too hot, or add hot water if it’s too cool—so you can adjust the temperature to your liking. Both the hot and cold water flow were plentiful, making it a truly stress-free Onsen experience that’s hard to find. The meals were also excellent; each dish was thoughtfully prepared, and I felt the chef must be very talented. If I had to mention one minor complaint, it would have been perfect if we could have seen Mt. Aso clearly from the bath, but I understand that can’t always be helped.

I stayed here while visiting the Dewa Sanzan shrines. The Accommodation had a very relaxing atmosphere, the meals were delicious, and the bath was excellent. I also signed up the night before and was able to join an early-morning visit to Mt. Yudono. It was a truly rare and wonderful experience. I will definitely return. Thank you very much.

This was my second stay. Once again, the Chinese cuisine was delicious, and the large public bath and open-air bath were wonderful. The view of Lake Tama is also very relaxing. I was impressed by the staff’s warm, friendly hospitality. I also enjoyed chatting with the gentleman on the breakfast staff. Since it’s close to home, I’ll keep coming back.

We stayed as a group of four—my elderly parents, my sibling, and me—who usually live apart. My parents were especially pleased with the heartfelt hospitality. The meals were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the dessert. We will visit again.

It was just before the summer holiday season when we visited, and since there were fewer guests, they kindly upgraded our Room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a Room with an open-air bath, so we could soak in the Onsen many times and felt truly refreshed. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The spacious garden was in hydrangea and rose season, and we enjoyed walking through the beautiful grounds. It was an early summer vacation for us—thank you very much!

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this is easily among the very best. It’s not inexpensive, but considering the dining, service, and Facilities, it felt like outstanding value—worth far more than the price. The moment you step inside, you’re captivated by a breathtaking view of the Jintsu River framed by stately yet modern architecture. The art-filled spaces also have a playful sense of humor that made us smile. We stayed in the Modern Moon room, which had beautifully curated interiors. We spent an elegant time enjoying the fragrant hinoki cypress bath overlooking the Jintsu River and relaxing on the terrace. The bedding was exceptional for a great night’s sleep, and in addition to two well-appointed large public baths, we loved that there was a private family bath available at a surprisingly reasonable rate. Dinner was French cuisine featuring abundant Toyama ingredients, with flawless presentation and service. I was amazed by the skillful cooking that elevated even more distinctive ingredients into something refined. The generous full-course meal paired perfectly with their outstanding Toyama house wines (red and white). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast was just as impressive—deeply flavorful and wonderfully soothing after the previous night’s course. Relaxing at the Accommodation is wonderful on its own, but there are also plenty of activities—an art tour, children’s events, strolls through the garden and along the Jintsu River—so one night is nowhere near enough. Being able to use Tesla charging Facilities also helped us travel without worry. The hospitality from all staff members was exceptional. We were so moved that we immediately made another Reservation for six months later. We truly can’t wait to return.

I was traveling solo and chose the Ladies’ Healing Plan. It came with a Panasonic facial device, a foot massager, and drinks, which really lifted my mood. The washroom had IGNIS amenities, and the beauty cream in the room was labeled as a complimentary gift. The pajamas were stylish too! I’d checked the breakfast venue in Reviews beforehand, so I was looking forward to it. It’s irresistible for fans of retro architecture. They also let me tour the chapel at the top of the stairs. I was happy that many of the dishes used locally sourced ingredients. It was so relaxing!

This was my second stay, and it felt like both the cuisine and hospitality had been upgraded even further. This time I arrived on foot, and a staff member came out to greet me from around the bridge; on departure as well, they saw me off until I was out of sight, which made me very happy. The sparklers were available last time too, and they have become one of the highlights for me. There is a pool directly below the Room terrace; at first it was quite noisy and I worried it might continue, but it gradually settled down so I was relieved. If I had to mention one thing, the Room lighting was a bit dim, and I would appreciate something like a lighted makeup mirror or a small lamp for applying makeup. Overall, it was a wonderful stay—thank you very much. I would love to visit again.

As I’ve said many times, the hospitality is excellent. The exterior looks quite old, but that’s no problem at all for our dogs, and the Room is always clean with no issues. The meals are delicious as well. We stayed for 2 nights and 3 days and were able to relax. Whenever we go to Izu, our family stays here. It’s great that dogs stay free of charge. We’ve been here so many times that we can check in without even saying our name. The Room is spacious—more than enough for our five dogs. We’ll be back again in August. Since the grounds are large, it would be nice if there were a dog run.

I’d been keeping an eye on this place as a summer getaway I wanted to visit someday, and I finally made it this time. It happened to be a day when temperatures had dropped across the whole country, so I wondered if it might not feel much like a cool retreat—but it was cold enough to need a jacket. The air was incredibly fresh, and I took lots of deep breaths on the balcony. It truly felt amazing—I finally understood what people mean by “the air tastes delicious.” The Room was carefully prepared and very comfortable. And the meal served at the counter felt wonderfully luxurious; with the reassuring comfort of being able to go straight to bed afterward, even the drinks tasted better. The free drinks in the lobby were also great for relaxing while enjoying the view. The weather wasn’t perfect, but we could still gaze at the stars at night, and by morning we had a beautiful view of Mt. Ontake as well. It was a lovely place that I would definitely like to visit again.

This was my first stay. The Room was spacious and very comfortable. For dinner, I enjoyed Hida beef—the meat was delicious, and the fat had a pleasantly sweet flavor. The breakfast curry also contained plenty of Hida beef and was very tasty. Overall, it was a very satisfying Hotel.

We had been looking forward to staying at this Accommodation for a long time. As reputed, everything was spotless, and we were very satisfied with the Room—it was a bit more spacious and had a layout different from a typical twin. The ceiling height on each floor also felt relatively high, giving it an airy feel. We were able to enjoy the bath privately and relax. Both yukata and samue were provided, and we chose the samue. It worked well as sleepwear. The meals were just right for us since we can’t eat large portions, and everything was delicious. The location was also very convenient, and we would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

This was our first time staying as a family of six. We stayed in the annex, and the building was clean and a great environment for families with children without worrying about noise. The bath was spacious, and we loved that it had free-flowing natural hot spring water. The Onsen pool was also large, and the kids really enjoyed it. The night pool had a magical atmosphere as well. It turned into a wonderful trip.

My second stay, following last winter. Last time I came by car. After sightseeing at Owakudani and other spots, I followed the navigation system and didn’t really know where it was, but this time I used the mountain railway and was surprised to find it was very close to Sounzan Station. Even on the walk from the station, I felt welcomed by a pleasant breeze and birdsong, and arrived at the Accommodation in great spirits. The attendant who looked after us was the same as last year. Their cheerful manner and excellent timing in serving meals were unchanged. The Room and shared areas were just as spotless as before—not a speck of dust—making everything feel wonderfully refreshing. The open-air bath assigned to each Room is located a short distance away, and ours was excellent again this time. With cuckoos calling more beautifully around this season, I could truly relax in both sound and hot water. The meals were delicious as before: a soup with pike conger eel (hamo) and junsai; seasonal ingredients like Manganji peppers with superb seasoning; gourd “kaminari-boshi,” which I hadn’t tasted in ages; plus breakfast highlights such as the vegetable salad and dressing, perfectly grilled salted salmon (both seasoning and doneness), and fresh yuba served at just the right moment. An Accommodation I’d love to return to for its hospitality.
