A last-minute cancellation opened up, and I was truly lucky to get a Reservation at this Accommodation—often said to be “the hardest to book in Japan.” I’ve stayed at many Onsen Ryokan across Japan, and I think this one is the best. From the parking lot to the Room, I was surrounded by beautiful greenery the entire way. It was such an atmospheric Ryokan—like stepping into another world. At check-in, enjoying the greenery and the sound of the river while having delicious welcome snacks instantly made me forget the day’s busyness, fatigue, and even the intense summer heat. It felt as if time had stopped, and I became completely calm. The Room was spacious and spotless, and it even had a CD player, so I could truly relax. The indoor bath, their signature cave bath (“Cave Onsen”), and “Musou,” a private Onsen—all of them were outstanding. The food was probably the most delicious meal experience I’ve ever had during any stay. In particular, the salt-grilled ayu sweetfish, brown rice soup, and Shinshu Orein pork shoulder loin were exceptional. After check-out, it was also fun to take a walk along the promenade trail. Thank you to all the staff for your kind hospitality. This is an Accommodation that exceeds expectations—I had a deeply satisfying stay. Now I understand why it’s so hard to get a Reservation. I’d love to come back in another season!

After finally arriving through heavy rain on this trip, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The meals were served in a calm lounge, and we could really feel the care put into each dish. The Onsen was wonderful, but unfortunately, due to torrential rain severe enough to trigger warnings, the water temperature dropped on the morning of the second day. We were especially disappointed that we couldn’t use the bath in our Room. With expressways closed, sightseeing wasn’t possible at all, so we’d like to come back next time for a retry. The Accommodation is a pleasant, clean Hotel, and all of the staff were very kind.

Following stays at Fufu Nikko, Atami, Hakone, and Jogashima, we were also able to stay in Ginza. There is nothing but complete satisfaction with everything—the Room, the bath, and the meals. Although we have stayed at Fufu many times, we felt thoughtfulness and warmth everywhere, and it was one moving moment after another. Being able to enjoy a drink while soaking in the footbath and taking in the city views truly felt like Ginza. My mother is currently undergoing treatment, but staying at Fufu also helps boost her immunity. We can only be grateful that we were able to spend such a happy time together as parent and child. I would like to express my sincere thanks to the General Manager and all of the staff who assisted us. We will visit again later this year. We look forward to seeing you all again.

Nestled at the foot of Mt. Tanigawa, this was a truly warm and memorable Accommodation. Because it is family-run, thoughtful touches could be felt everywhere; from the moment we arrived, it somehow felt nostalgic, and we immediately relaxed into a natural sense of comfort. The interior is calm rather than flashy, and you can tell it is carefully maintained. What impressed us most was the food. It had a great reputation in Reviews, but it exceeded our expectations. Seasonal local ingredients are used generously, and each dish is prepared with great care. Nothing is showy, yet the quality of the ingredients shines through—enhanced by professional skill and subtle creativity—and it made us realize that this kind of cooking is true luxury. Every dish felt heartfelt; simple yet deeply flavorful, turning mealtime itself into one of the highlights of our trip. The owner’s shakuhachi performance was also wonderful, making our stay feel like something more than just an overnight visit. Combined with Mt. Tanigawa’s nature and the quiet atmosphere, it brought a sense of calm and balance to the mind, reminding us once again of Japan’s unique beauty and charm. Rather than for those seeking glamour or extravagance, this Accommodation is highly recommended for anyone looking for genuinely comfortable time away, human warmth, and a stay that lets you feel the character of the area. It was such a lovely place that we would gladly return in another season.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. Staying at the dreamlike Accommodation “Bansuirou Fukuzumi”—and on top of that, being able to make a Reservation for “Room 15”—felt unreal. I honestly thought, “No way… really?” After waiting for months, the day finally arrived, and from the moment I stepped into the front desk area, everything was already overflowing with charm. Mr. H, the manager who guided us to our Room, was incredibly kind and also took great care in showing us around the building. I’m truly grateful to have heard such in-depth stories as well—it made me realize that maintaining an Important Cultural Property involves far more effort than I had imagined. The famous ceiling painting was breathtaking too. Everything was simply stunning; outside, the evening cicadas were singing and made the atmosphere even more special. After fully enjoying Room 15, we headed to the bath—what I’d been looking forward to most: the Onsen. The indoor tiles were so cute, and the Onsen left my skin feeling relaxed and silky-smooth—absolutely wonderful. Every dish was carefully prepared and delicious as well. Thank you so much for accommodating my allergies—I truly appreciate it. Our attendant was also very friendly and lovely. And thank you for providing Shuttle Service too. Being able to stay at “Bansuirou Fukuzumi,” and having encountered this place at all, has become a lifelong memory—I feel so happy to have had such a precious experience. We traveled with my elderly mother-in-law, and as on our previous stay, everything—such as preparing chairs—was arranged with extra care, allowing us to spend a very comfortable time. The meals were consistently excellent as well. Since we stay around the same time every year, we would appreciate it if you could consider adding a bit more variety to items such as the hassun. To all the staff, thank you very much for your help and thoughtful attention.

For dinner, we chose the luxurious full-course Maezawa beef option. Every dish was absolutely delicious, but the portions were honestly too large for us (next time, the standard Plan will be more than enough). The open-air bath in our Room and the open-air bath at the large public bath were both excellent. From check-in to departure, the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout—this is a wonderful Onsen Ryokan that makes you want to come back.

As always, we thoroughly enjoyed your wonderful meals. We also had the chance to spend time with the cats and had a truly delightful stay. We love the cabbage fields visible from our Room. We bought some vegetables from the Accommodation to take home, and they were delicious—making us happy all over again. We will be back again. Thank you in advance for your continued hospitality.

We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my mother-in-law's 60th birthday. When we arrived at the check-in time, the room we had requested in advance was prepared for us, which we truly appreciated. The staff's attentive and warm hospitality left a deep impression, and we were thoroughly satisfied with the beauty and comfort of the room. The onsen, with its silky smooth water quality, was among the best we've ever experienced. Additionally, both dinner and breakfast were meticulously prepared dish by dish, offering exquisite flavors that made for a luxurious meal perfect for such a special occasion. My mother-in-law was overjoyed and said she was truly glad to have come. It became a memorable stay that made this special day even more meaningful. With its quiet and serene atmosphere, impeccable service down to every detail—everything exceeded our expectations. Next time, we hope to enjoy a multiple night stay for an even more relaxing experience.

Our family of four stayed for two nights in connecting Rooms. From our Room, we enjoyed beautiful views of Lake Biwa and different sunsets each day. The large public bath was also wonderful, allowing us to relax and recover from our travels at a leisurely pace. During our stay, we were able to unwind with complimentary drinks in the 10th-floor lounge as many times as we liked. The staff kindly spoke to us throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. From the moment we boarded the elevator to the Ryokan from in front of Sounzan Station, it was an exciting experience. The Accommodation and all the staff welcomed us with a warm atmosphere, and everything—the Room, the carefully prepared meals, the Onsen, and the views—was wonderfully soothing. Every dish was delicious. I was especially captivated by the flavor and presentation of the Japanese-style mousse. With each course that followed, I could feel the care put into every detail, and even the dessert was outstanding. If it were closer, I would want to stay every time the menu changes. In the past, I loved the cuisine at a nearby Ryokan and stayed there every month. However, when the head chef changed, I was surprised at how much the taste could change even though the menu remained the same. I truly hope your cuisine will continue to be preserved. Both the cave bath and the open-air bath were clean, and we could relax comfortably. We stayed in a Room that seems to have undergone a major renovation—reducing the number of rooms and adding a bedroom and a private in-room hot spring bath with free-flowing water—so our stay was very comfortable. The furnishings in the Room and along the hallways were also lovely. The experienced staff who took care of our meals kindly answered various questions about the local area, making our time truly enjoyable. Thank you very much.

I don’t usually post Reviews, but this was such a wonderful Accommodation that I wanted to share it in case it helps anyone considering a stay. I live in central Tokyo, and staying at luxury Hotels in Tokyo is one of my hobbies. A Hotel stay refreshes me and boosts my motivation for work. When I’m craving an Onsen, I choose highly rated Ryokan based on Reviews. YUI has become one of my favorite Accommodations—easily among the top Ryokan I’ve stayed at so far. First, the Room was spotless. I’m a bit particular about cleanliness, but there wasn’t a single thing that bothered me—I was completely comfortable. The meals were delicious, and all the staff were kind and welcoming with genuinely pleasant service. Check-in and check-out are completed in your Room, so you hardly run into other guests. If you want to relax quietly at your own pace, I highly recommend it. I had seen some strict Reviews about the food and was slightly worried, but everything tasted great to me. I was also happy that the drink prices were reasonable (laugh). A river runs right in front of you, and you can fully enjoy nature that you simply can’t experience in the city. The open-air bath in the guest room was especially soothing—I could soak slowly without worrying about anyone’s eyes. Many people dislike insects; what surprised me most was how few came inside. In Rooms with an open-air bath, that’s always something I worry about because I’m not good with bugs—but this time there wasn’t even one insect in the tub or bathroom when I woke up in the morning, which made it extremely comfortable. (You can see insects outside, but somehow they don’t come in.) Also, when it comes to summer Onsen bathing, I usually don’t like stepping outside into heavy humidity before getting in. At YUI, even when going outdoors I barely felt that muggy heat at all, so I could enjoy the Onsen very comfortably even in summer. (I’m not sure if it’s because of Yugawara, the building design, or being surrounded by nature.) This might get me scolded for nitpicking—but if I had to mention any downsides: The towels are clean and fluffy, but their absorbency is slightly weak. Also, if you’re arriving by supercar/low-clearance vehicle (?), you’ll need to choose your Room carefully—advance consultation is essential. To everyone at YUI: thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our stay. Sorry I couldn’t include photos—I’m not good at taking them. We will definitely visit again. I'm already looking forward to deciding which Room to stay in next time.

I stayed for two nights starting July 22. This time, my Room faced the Nasu mountain range, so the view was wonderful. The meals were delicious again. Since this was my second stay in July, you kindly changed the menu for me. Next time, I’ll visit with my children and their family.

We stayed from August 1 to 2 for my girlfriend’s birthday trip. From the moment you step into the Hotel, you’re overwhelmed by the incredible setting—this alone is more than satisfying! The Hotel is kept beautifully clean, and the stunning views throughout are truly soothing. The amenities are well stocked, and the food is unbelievably delicious—everything feels exceptionally fulfilling. During meals, the staff always watched the timing and brought each dish at just the right moment, and they even helped us celebrate her birthday. Every member of staff was genuinely wonderful, and we were grateful from start to finish. It became an unforgettable birthday trip. Thank you so much—we’ll definitely stay again!

Due to a change of plans, I made a Reservation the day before. It was a rainy day and I arrived early, but I was able to choose a book from the many available and enjoy reading at a relaxed pace with a cup of coffee in hand. The spacious bath, especially the bubble bath, was very soothing. The meals were so plentiful that I couldn’t finish everything. The sunrise the next morning was beautiful. There were also goats and rabbits, and if it were closer, it’s a place where I’d love to bring my dog for a Multiple Night Stay.

We stayed here for a pre-baby trip. The property was very clean, and the guidance from check-in to our Room was consistently courteous. We were able to spend our time comfortably from start to finish. Since I was pregnant, I had some dietary restrictions and ingredients I couldn’t eat, so we made several requests. They kindly accommodated everything thoroughly, which we truly appreciated. Every dish was delicious, and we were very satisfied. The Onsen was also wonderful, and we were able to relax and unwind at a leisurely pace. We are really glad we chose this place for our pre-baby trip. It’s unfortunate that due to the age restriction we won’t be able to visit for a while after the baby is born, but we plan to recommend it to our parents and friends. We look forward to the day when we can visit again as a family.
