I stayed for one night. The Room had an ocean view. Despite being November, it was warm thanks to the sunlight. The building might be old, but everything was thoroughly cleaned and felt very comfortable. The drink bar's used glasses were frequently collected, keeping it always clean. During the bath inspection time, the staff worked quickly without being intrusive and even asked about the water temperature, which was very soothing. The water temperature was perfect!

I stayed in a single room: an 8-tatami Japanese-style room with one bed, with plenty of space to spread out luggage or do stretches—great for hikers. In addition, there’s a table and chairs in the wooden-floored area, and a convenience store is a 5-minute walk away, so “No Meals Included” might be fine. (Ice, tableware, and a microwave are available at the Accommodation.) The bath is a silky “beauty” hot spring; alternating between the warm bath and the cold source spring quickly washes away fatigue. There’s also a sauna, so you can fully refresh both body and mind. Meals feel like an upscale set menu, and the miso soup and handmade soba were excellent. (When I stayed, the main dishes were sukiyaki-style hot pot and sashimi such as char.) They also have a wide selection of alcohol at pleasantly reasonable prices. Since extra orders such as alcohol are settled each time, checkout is as simple as dropping the key into the collection box—also convenient for hikers.

On the third day of my solo trip from Tokyo to Saga, I stayed at Shunkeiya in Takeo Onsen. It is located right next to the Romon Gate, and the building is very clean and beautiful. They prepared a 14-tatami corner Room for me even though I was traveling alone, and dinner served in the Room was wonderfully varied and absolutely delicious. The attendant assigned to my Room was also excellent, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was superb. Even though I was on my own, they provided Shuttle Service to the station—an Accommodation where everything was thoughtfully taken care of. I love traveling and have stayed in many places, but considering how reasonably priced it is, I was satisfied with everything here. If it were in the Kanto area, I could visit often—it's a shame it’s not. Next time, I would definitely like to come again with my wife. This first solo trip became a truly wonderful memory for me.

This was my second visit, and the meals were still delicious. The Onsen was clean, and I could relax and enjoy it at my own pace.

The front desk staff provided courteous and pleasant service during both check-in and check-out. The complimentary services were exceptional, especially the free dinner bowls, which were the highlight of my stay. I only needed to purchase a salad and edamame from a convenience store to complete a satisfying dinner. That evening, there were curry and two types of bowls (frozen pre-packaged beef bowl and ginger pork bowl), both of which were truly delicious. The free soft drink bar even included an alcohol button, offering highballs and sours, with sake available nearby. Additionally, there were stick drinks, tea bags, soup packets, mini ramen, ochazuke packs, and bean snacks, making the service truly outstanding. However, I was disappointed not to find a cold water pitcher, which I believe is in high demand. The hotel also has an attached izakaya, which I considered visiting if I wanted more drinks. However, the loud voices of some patrons early in the evening made it uninviting, so I decided not to go. When I asked the front desk about takeout options, they mentioned it was a separate business, so they were unsure. In the end, the free bowls and drinks were more than enough, and I didn’t use the izakaya. The breakfast venue is the same izakaya, operating in a buffet style. Nearly half the seating area is used for the food stations, resulting in limited seating and potential wait times depending on the timing. When I stayed at Toyoko Inn Kurashiki, the lobby served as the breakfast area, which was quite small, but they provided takeout bento boxes for room dining, allowing for a relaxed breakfast experience. If the crowding persists, this could be a consideration for improvement. The bed in the room had a springy mattress, which I personally found uncomfortable. This was my second experience, after Cuore Kurashiki Hotel, where I bounced too much during a turn and fell off the bed. The height caused me to hit my knee hard, leaving a significant bruise. The rental services were excellent, so I would appreciate the addition of bed guards or floor impact-absorbing mats for rental. This would provide peace of mind for future stays. I was very satisfied. The meals were delicious.

I stayed on Friday, and the parking lot was almost full. The front desk staff were pleasant, and the building was quiet. There was no noise at all from footsteps in the hallway or voices from the neighboring Room, so it seemed other guests had good manners. The toilet had been renovated and was clean. The Room was also well cleaned, and I had a comfortable stay. Great value for money—I’m very satisfied. I’d like to stay again. The cherry blossoms and townscape visible from the window were beautiful.

The Room was a 6-tatami Japanese-style type; it does feel a bit dated, but it was thoroughly cleaned. The Onsen has no open-air bath, but the water quality is excellent. Even though I have dry skin, I didn’t feel itchy at night without applying anything. Meals are served in private dining rooms for both dinner and breakfast, so you can eat at a relaxed pace. The carp dishes were the main focus and were delicious. I had the sashimi with vinegared miso; it had no odor at all, was pleasantly firm, and very tasty. Breakfast rice was also excellent, and both the quality and quantity were more than satisfying. The dessert was great as well. The inn has been family-run since the proprietress’s grandfather’s generation, and the hospitality is outstanding—you can spend your time in a quiet setting.

The bath is a bit old-fashioned, but the Onsen water was wonderfully silky and excellent. As others have mentioned, the building is older and has quite a few stairs, but it has been nicely renovated and thoroughly cleaned, so it didn’t bother us and we were comfortable. The Accommodation staff were also very kind.

The Facility may be a bit old, but it is very well maintained. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, and we really appreciated their support. We would love to stay here again. We only had coffee for breakfast, but having it free with a Multiple Night Stay is fantastic.

The front desk staff made a great impression. The Room is old but clean, and the mini-kitchen and ample storage—making good use of its former studio layout—are very convenient. Also, the coin laundry on the first floor is inexpensive, and the gas dryers finish quickly; with plenty of machines available, it was really helpful.

A quiet, relaxing Accommodation. The bath feels wonderful and leaves your skin silky smooth. The hot water is excellent. My knee pain eased. I felt refreshed, like my body became lighter. I want to visit again!

I’m glad I could enjoy visiting different baths. Since it’s a natural Onsen, I’d like to go again. The cherry blossoms nearby were beautiful too. Spring is highly recommended.

Thank you for your hospitality. I wish you had told us in advance that a jubako box would be included with the buffet-style breakfast. I took too much of the delicious curry and couldn’t finish it—I regret it, haha.

The room was clean and very pleasant. The children felt at home and relaxed. We understood the Goemon bath concept, but the fixed shower and concrete feel were a bit disappointing. Due to the extreme heat during the day, the temperature on the second floor did not cool down enough for sleeping, so we had to sleep on the first floor, which was unfortunate. We would appreciate it if you could consider measures to address the heat on the second floor. The meals and service were excellent, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much!

The views are beautiful, and the peaceful setting lets you enjoy a special getaway. There is also a sauna, and each Room has its own bathroom and toilet, so even large groups can stay comfortably with plenty of privacy. We tried the BBQ once, but it wasn’t quite what we expected. Since delivery is available, you may be fine without meals included. The butler’s service was excellent as well. For older guests, the beds may feel a bit too high.

Stayed with the One-Night Stay with Breakfast Plan. The bath in the Room was unexpectedly spacious and allowed me to enjoy the view while relaxing, which was very satisfying. I would love to visit again during cherry blossom or autumn foliage season. The breakfast was also satisfying in both content and taste.

Stopped by during a tour to Chausuyama Kogen Road and Horaiji Mountain. Over 30 years ago, the current proprietress's father started this property by renovating their old family home. Nowadays, properties renovated from old houses are not uncommon, but the foresight to start it in that era is impressive. Urugi Village is a great place to spend a relaxing time in a rural setting. The proprietress's proud dishes of game meat and mushrooms, salt-grilled sweetfish, and horse sashimi were very satisfying. The gohei mochi served at the end was also quite filling. There was "Urugi Onsen Komadori no Yu" nearby, so we went there for a bath. Therefore, we did not use the bath at the property. It was a nice property, friendly to riders.
