It’s about a 20-minute drive to Takachiho Gorge, but we chose Kijiya because it’s an onsen Accommodation. We had reserved the first boat ride at Takachiho Gorge the next morning, so we stayed with dinner only. Dinner was delicious, with salt-grilled yamame trout, sashimi, tempura, and more. As expected, the onsen was wonderful. We checked out early in the morning, but it’s a great Accommodation where you can truly relax.

Thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our one-night, two-day stay. The Room was spotless and thoroughly cleaned, and we were able to truly relax. Although it was a detached Room, the main building was right in front of us, which made us feel at ease. We took an early-morning walk around the watershed area and saw beautiful scenery spreading out in the silence—it felt as if both mind and body were refreshed. Breakfast was also exceptional: we enjoyed the complimentary bread along with milk and yogurt we bought at a nearby farmers’ market. Our children were very happy too, saying they “wanted to stay longer.” It became a wonderful memory for us. Thank you very much.

This trip had us constantly checking the weather, but we came with our kids, believing there might still be a chance to stargaze at the observatory. It was cloudy and forecast to clear after midnight, so we arrived early with mixed feelings. Before check-in, we were allowed to play mallet golf for free, and the kids ended up running around nonstop on the playground athletics course in the park. After check-in, we relaxed in the large public bath. It was very clean—it's not an Onsen, but it was great. Dinner was at the restaurant from around 19:00. The food was delicious and very generous; our kids couldn’t finish it, which we felt bad about. We really appreciated that the portions were adjusted for younger and older elementary school children. Then came what we’d been waiting for: stargazing! Unfortunately, because of the clouds, it switched to the planetarium instead. But thanks to those clouds, some guests apparently canceled—and unbelievably, everything ended up being completely private just for us! The director’s friendly talk and quizzes had our kids excited from start to finish. He also projected images of what you can see on a clear night, and it turned into an incredibly satisfying 45-minute journey through space! On our way out, each of us got to choose one favorite photo from the director’s collection taken at the observatory. When we stepped outside afterward, we could faintly see the moon and one or two stars starting to appear. Lights-out was at 21:30. We woke up at 2:00 hoping for a miracle—real stars—and somehow even the kids managed to get up too. Looking out through the large south-facing window, my child shouted “The Milky Way!!” I thought it might be a mistake—but it really was the Milky Way!! In the planetarium earlier, we’d heard that Scorpius is a “miracle constellation,” visible in that alignment only from Earth—and that seeing even its tail requires conditions that are rare even here at Ogawa Observatory… yet there it was as well!! We were so moved and happy that I fell asleep peacefully afterward! Breakfast was also excellent—again our kids couldn’t finish everything (sorry!). All of your staff were friendly and welcoming too; it was a truly satisfying trip! I actually stopped by about 20 years ago while visiting filming locations from *Hakusen Nagashi*, but I only briefly passed through back then—so this time left me deeply impressed.

The place was clean and well-maintained, allowing for a very comfortable and relaxing stay. I appreciated the availability of bicycles and made good use of them. I understand that maintaining a traditional house can be challenging, but I hope you continue to preserve and manage this building. Thank you very much for everything this time.

The exterior is stylish, and every Room inside is clean, making it the perfect Hotel for a relaxing stay. The view from the window overlooks Kenrokuen Garden right in front. Since it’s a three-story building, some may find going up and down a bit inconvenient. Additionally, there are no work clothes (yukata) provided, so it's better to bring your own. The bath is spacious with a waterfall shower feature that helps relieve tension.

We stayed for three nights to enjoy river activities and a meal at the ayu fish weir. Since our stay did not include dinner, it was convenient to adjust by eating out nearby or having light meals from a convenience store. As this was right after the earthquake, we refrained from playing in the nearby river, but there are many spots around where you can play at the headwaters of the river, so we still had a wonderful time. We spent enriching moments watching the river from the Accommodation’s veranda and setting off fireworks in the garden. The Japanese-made fireworks we bought at the Accommodation had a charming feel, so we also purchased some as souvenirs. We are grateful for the thoughtful hospitality of everyone at the Accommodation. They also played with our child, which allowed us as a couple to relax. Kosa Town is conveniently located, people are kind, and you can enjoy nature—there’s nothing more to ask for. We will visit again.

With a steak late-night snack included, I think this price is very reasonable. Traveling with my dog, it was a very satisfying trip. I’ve found an Accommodation I’d love to visit again!

At night, we could see a beautiful moon and stars from the open-air bath, and in the morning we enjoyed views of the Northern Alps mountain range—overall, we were able to fully enjoy the Onsen. With plenty of greenery around, it’s a place I’d like to visit during a long holiday. As for the Facility and breakfast, they felt average—neither particularly good nor bad.

I had reserved a non-smoking twin room, but was recommended an available semi-double room in the new building at the same price, so I stayed in the new building instead. In addition to the semi-double bed, a regular futon was also provided, so the two of us used the bed and the futon. As it was newly built and felt like a compact studio with a kitchen and separate bath and toilet, it was very comfortable—and it was great that we could watch YouTube as well. However, only one toothbrush amenity had been provided, and there was a wrinkled towel hanging in the bathroom that I couldn’t tell what it had been used for, which was puzzling. Overall, though, it was a pleasant stay. Thank you very much.

I booked this Ryokan two days before my trip to Atami. It is located near Kinomiya Station, which is within walking distance from Atami. The location was excellent, especially being just a few minutes' walk to Kinomiya Shrine. The room was a typical Ryokan style, offering an authentic experience. Although the angle of the room was slightly awkward, I could still catch a glimpse of the sea. This Ryokan also has table tennis facilities, which provided some simple yet enjoyable entertainment. The onsen bath was small but gave a nice onsen experience. However, there were no facial cleansers available, which might be inconvenient for women. I added breakfast to my stay and enjoyed bread, bananas, boiled eggs, fruits, and drinks. While simple in variety, having breakfast at the Ryokan added to the travel atmosphere nicely.

We had a wonderful time in the beautiful garden and Room. My daughter was also very happy. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

Some Reviews mentioned that the place “wasn’t cleaned thoroughly,” and my companion was a bit worried, but once we stepped inside, it was a calm and relaxing space. It felt like some of the harsh Reviews were expecting Ryokan-level standards even though we weren’t paying Ryokan-level prices. We also enjoyed delicious meals at Kitchen Yorokonde, located a few kilometers away and run by the same manager as the Accommodation, which made our trip to Sado very satisfying.

It was a very clean Ryokan. I could walk around barefoot comfortably and had a pleasant stay. They provided black tabi socks for indoor use, but since they were unisex, the men’s size seemed small (lol), so I stayed barefoot. The meals were just as described in the Reviews—very satisfying. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. I’d love to stay again. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

The building is old, but it has been kept reasonably clean. I’m sensitive to the dusty feel of older buildings, but it didn’t bother me much. It’s a traditional pension with a retro vibe. The owner was also very pleasant. I stayed in a Room with a unit bath. The unit bath was small and not really the kind you can relax in, but considering the price, I was satisfied. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Hakuba.

Even though it was right after the New Year holidays, it was so inexpensive that I didn’t expect much. However, the Hotel itself was new and clean, and I was surprised that the Room was spacious enough for children to play in. They kept our luggage for us before check-in, and the staff were very helpful. In the lobby, we could choose the amenities we needed, and we also enjoyed delicious complimentary coffee freshly ground from beans. There was also mineral water in the Room for each guest. The hair dryer (Mod’s) had plenty of airflow. The only downside was that the unit bath felt quite cramped, but I was impressed by the heated toilet seat and even by the toilet paper with a crane watermark design. Overall, I’m extremely satisfied. By the way, Senso-ji Temple is just 50 steps away; a convenience store is two doors down; and the station is very close as well.

We planned to visit my mother's grave and do some sightseeing, so we looked for a place to stay and found this pension. We initially reserved one room for four people, but since it felt a bit cramped for four adults, the owner kindly offered us two rooms instead. The pension itself is undeniably old, but both the owner and his wife were very friendly and approachable. Most importantly, the meals were absolutely delicious! Our whole family kept saying how tasty everything was. When making your reservation, I highly recommend including dinner in your plan. We chose a room with an attached bathroom and toilet, which allowed us to use them without worrying about other guests—this was very convenient!

You’ll head in through a surprisingly narrow passageway that makes you wonder, “Are we really going in here!?”—but the location is very convenient, just a short walk from Kanzanji, with an eel restaurant nearby, making the stay very comfortable. The Room was also very clean. However, compared to the Facility’s stated capacity, there were far too few dining chairs—only six. Since we stayed with seven people, it was quite inconvenient. The Goemon-style bath was interesting, but there wasn’t much firewood, and it still felt insufficient for seven people. That said, the Goemon-style bath, the movable hanging tent, and the view were all incredibly fun. We also enjoyed watching the tides come in and out. There is a bedroom on the second floor, but since there’s no sink or similar amenities up there, it wasn’t very convenient to use.

The Room was affected by noise from next door (especially barking). The provided cups had a slightly unpleasant smell, and the pet waste bags were damp. Dinner was unquestionably delicious, but it was disappointing that there was no goat milk for the dogs’ breakfast. There are two dog run areas, both very clean and well maintained, and our dog happily ran around!
