Thank you for accommodating us on a suddenly planned short trip. I had seen Reviews saying the Facility was old and run-down, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but perhaps we happened to get an unlucky room—the floor creaked loudly. It didn’t feel like it would give way, but my wife said it was scary. Since I work in construction, if only I’d had my tools... I think it also depends on the accommodation Plan, but since we can’t eat a lot, we chose the standard meal option. They also adjusted the menu after discussing allergies with us, and everything was delicious. I’d rate it 5 stars+. Thank you very much.

Our three-generation family had a wonderful time together. The kids really enjoyed the pool, fireworks, and the arcade. The newly renovated Onsen was also beautiful and brought back nostalgic memories from my own childhood.

The bath was great.

Thank you for taking care of us during the Obon holiday period. The Accommodation is old, but it was kept very clean inside. The private bath was also very spacious and nice. What was disappointing was the way the meals were laid out and how cramped the space was. There was no space to set down a tray, so we couldn’t even use seasonings, and it was inconvenient to place small plates; I’d like to see some improvement. There wasn’t much soy sauce available either, and it seemed we had to wait in a long line just to get soy sauce on our plates. The display layout also made items hard to pick up—for example, udon next to ice cream—so everything felt scattered. It’s a shame because everything else was good.

Guests can use the nearby day-use Onsen next to the Hotel for 600 yen instead of the usual 1,000 yen. Please note this discount is valid for one visit only. It is a genuine Onsen and is open until 24:00, so we were able to relax. The area around the Hotel is also convenient, with many convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants nearby.

This time, you kindly arranged a special riverside Room (Japanese-style), and I found it very soothing to be surrounded by the sound of the stream and the forest. The Room also had a private Onsen bath, which made my stay extremely comfortable. I was also very satisfied with the scenic view of the stream from the open-air bath, along with the forest and the evening cicadas—it was truly atmospheric. The quality of the Onsen was excellent as well, and I was very pleased. As the building is a designated tangible cultural property, it felt like stepping back into Japan’s Taisho era. Although it is old, it is kept very clean, and I had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay. We stayed during the latter half of Golden Week, and the staff were working hard without a break. We were informed the day before that a Room was available and that we could be upgraded, which made us very happy—our children were thrilled as well. Thank you. About the building and Facility There may be mixed opinions due to aging, but for our family it was not an issue at all. The garden was also well maintained and wonderful. If you are concerned about older buildings, it might be better to choose a newer one. Meals Both dinner and breakfast are standard buffet-style meals. We have used other Accommodations in the same group as well, but here the food was replenished much faster than anywhere else, and the older female staff moved efficiently and did an excellent job. Baths Above all, being able to enjoy hot-spring hopping between two nearby buildings is fantastic. I forgot my ticket while doing the hot-spring hopping. I’m sorry for causing trouble at the main building, but they helped me without any unpleasantness, which I truly appreciated. Next time, I would like to stay at the main building as well. If you’re looking for great value for money, this Accommodation is definitely recommended.

The exclusive all-you-can-drink lounge for Stays guests and the service allowing you to take desserts and drinks to your Room after dinner were much appreciated. Dinner was well thought out, with a perfect balance between the course and semi-buffet, and the tuna sushi was delicious, leading me to have seconds multiple times. The effort put into various services throughout the Facility was evident, making the experience very pleasant. The Onsen was not too hot, just right for me, allowing me to enjoy long soaks multiple times.

This was my first stay, and it was wonderful! The staff member who prepared our meals and the front desk staff were friendly and kind. The foreign staff member who assisted us also spoke excellent Japanese and had a lovely smile. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

Stayed overnight after skiing at Shiga Kogen After check-in, straight to the open-air bath! Then draft beer at the all-you-can-drink corner. There were snacks too—the mixed nuts were delicious. Dinner buffet featured teppanyaki beef, with red wine, and lots of other options. Breakfast was tasty as well. If I didn’t have to drive, I’d have enjoyed the all-you-can-drink from the morning too (lol). The building is old, but they’ve clearly worked hard on renovations. The woman at reception also made a great impression. It’s a shame the dead grass along the road makes it look a bit abandoned from outside. I’ll be back.

At the end of the year, I stayed with my elderly parents. Since my mother needed a walker, I was a bit worried due to the lack of barrier-free information in the facility, but prioritized having a private bath and an onsen in the room due to the influenza outbreak. As a result, although the property was not barrier-free, the staff provided such considerate care that it was a very pleasant stay. The parking lot is several tens of meters away, but they offered valet parking for my mother and assisted us in areas with steps. The quality of the onsen was excellent, and our family felt warm and cozy. Although the building is old, it has been renovated and was thoroughly cleaned.

We stayed here while visiting to celebrate our second son’s wife’s birthday. The location was convenient, with easy access and close to where we had dinner. Best of all was the breakfast buffet—especially the sea bream rice. Matsuyama Castle is also nearby, making it a great area for running. We would love to stay again next time.

I stayed in a Japanese-style room furnished with beds. While the Facility is old, it was kept very clean and I had a comfortable stay. The bathroom area combines the bath, toilet, and sink, but since the Onsen facilities are well equipped, it didn’t bother me as I used those instead. They play an antique music box in the entrance. You can also enjoy free coffee.

My wife, son, and I traveled from Nagoya with our dog. We followed the navigation via the Chuo Expressway, got off at Azusagawa IC, and after that there was almost nothing along the local roads—no gas stations—until we finally found one near the Accommodation. After arriving, we presented our dog’s various certificates at reception to check in. The staff were very kind. The first place we were shown was the café lounge: unlimited soft drinks, ice cream, and even alcohol (as much as available?!). There were also 4–5 kinds of dog treats prepared, which felt like a great perk for guests. Next to the café lounge there was also a pet shower room. What surprised me was that other guests also said they couldn’t smell any “pet odor,” and I hadn’t noticed it either—it really didn’t bother us at all. However, the smoking room is located around the center of the 2nd floor, and the cigarette smell inside that room was… quite strong. This time we stayed in a Japanese-style room because no Western-style rooms were available. At reception we were told that if our dog soiled any bedding we would be charged a cleaning fee, so we put our dog in diapers. Thanks to that nothing got dirty—but in an unexpected twist, my son got a nosebleed and stained the sheets. We weren’t charged anything, but I’m very sorry about that. Changing topics: Both dinner and breakfast were buffet style. For dinner we could choose 17:30 or 19:00; for breakfast 7:00 or 8:00. Everything was satisfying overall; alcoholic drinks are available for an additional charge. The bath is an Onsen open from 15:00 to 22:00, and in the morning from 5:00 to 10:00. There is an outdoor dog run with facilities and a washing area, plus towels for wiping paws. There is also an indoor one on the second floor. Stepping outside into such clear air helped me forget about work for a while, and we made wonderful memories with our dog and family. We’d love to come again! On the way back we headed toward Okaya IC on local roads before returning to Nagoya; from this Accommodation to Okaya IC the roads were well paved, and there are places like Suwa Taisha Shrine (Suwa Grand Shrine), Utsukushigahara Highlands (Plateau), roadside stations (Michi-no-Eki), etc., so it’s easy to make stops along the way. The route on our way there wasn’t as convenient—so next time we’ll come via Okaya IC. To Oedo Onsen Wanwan Resort Shinshu Ueda Team: Thank you for giving us such great memories.

Since it is right in front of Echigo-Yuzawa Station, getting around was easy with almost no travel needed. I was able to use the foot bath and enjoy cake at the cafe as well. I chose a plan with breakfast only, without dinner. Breakfast felt a little less satisfying than before. Overall, I was satisfied. I booked a Room with an open-air bath and was able to use it many times.

I stayed for two nights and three days. They let me park my motorcycle indoors, which gave me peace of mind. The bath was incredibly relaxing, and I went in many times. The food was delicious—I ate too much. I also appreciated the all-you-can-drink alcohol option. I fully enjoyed the three days and had a wonderful touring trip. Thank you to Itoen Hotel Atagawa. We stayed as three generations and booked two Rooms (a barrier-free Japanese-Western Room and a Japanese-Western Room for four). ■Room Barrier-free Japanese-Western Room It felt a bit dated, but it was very clean and comfortable even with a wheelchair. That said, the view from the window was mostly the garden hillside, so the scenery was a little underwhelming, and the Room felt slightly dark at times. Japanese-Western Room (for four) A beautifully renovated, stylish space! With an amazing view of the pond right in front of us, our daughters were thrilled. ■Onsen・Facility / Inside the Accommodation The tatami hallways meant no slippers were needed—such a relaxing atmosphere. There was also a footbath area where we could unwind. The private bath in particular was spacious, so my mother could use it with peace of mind. The Onsen water quality was surprisingly rich and moisturizing—truly wonderful. ■Meals・Service The food portions were generous and everything tasted excellent. The extra-ordered horse sashimi was also very satisfying. When they prepared a cake for us, they kindly helped set things up so we could enjoy it in our Room, which we really appreciated. The free drinks after viewing hanamomo blossoms (including draft beer) were also fantastic. ■Overall The Rooms, Onsen, and meals were all outstanding—we had such a fulfilling stay. We would definitely like to return to this Accommodation.

I felt this Accommodation could be rated very differently depending on the purpose of your trip and the Room you choose. I stayed because I was interested in their guest Room with a semi-open-air bath. The exterior looks dated, and the front desk area doesn’t feel like a typical Hotel, which made me a bit uneasy at first. But once I entered the Room, it was very clean and instantly lifted my mood. The Facility also felt relatively new and well maintained. And of course, it has an ocean view. The refrigerator includes a freezer compartment, and there’s also a microwave and a washing machine (with dryer). Amenities such as skincare items and cleansing products are all provided individually packaged. There were two bath towels set out plus one spare in the drawer—three per person in total, which was more than enough. (Though I’m not sure if this applies only to Rooms with a semi-open-air bath.) Most importantly, the semi-open-air bath was truly wonderful. You can see the ocean at a glance through the large window, and the tub is spacious enough for what feels like four people. The Onsen in the Room is not free-flowing, but it’s easy to adjust the temperature so you can soak as long as you like at your preferred heat. Because there’s a glass partition between it and the living area, you can even watch TV (with subtitles) while bathing. The staff were pleasant and kind—they quickly helped me exchange my indoor sandal size and delivered them to my Room. It was No Meals Included, but it’s close to both the station and Atami Ginza, making dining out and shopping very convenient. It’s different from an ordinary Hotel, but as a condominium-style stay with an in-room Onsen, it was excellent. I highly recommend the Grand View Room. I’d love to visit again.
