We stayed in both the West and East rooms as a three-generation family. The historic building has been renovated with modern facilities, making it very comfortable. Thanks to the detailed guidance provided the day before, we were able to arrive without any worries. This was especially helpful as there is a parking lot just before the entrance, which can be tricky to find due to the busy pathway filled with people. My parents, who are nearly 80 years old, used handrails for going up and down the stairs but mentioned they had a comfortable stay. The staff were all very kind and accommodating; they helped us by making a reservation at "Bone-in Chicken Tanaka" for dinner upon request and provided information about taking a taxi to Daimon when we expressed concerns about my parents' mobility. Thanks to their support, my parents could visit Hongu Shrine while we made it all the way to Okunoin Temple—a truly memorable experience!

We stayed with two children. Toys were prepared in our Room, and the kids had a great time. The temperature of the large public bath at the Accommodation was just right, and even infants could bathe without any issues. We booked the No Meals Included Plan, but we had dinner at the dining area on the second floor. High chairs for children were available, and there were plenty of menu options that kids could enjoy. The staff at the Accommodation were very warm and welcoming, which we truly appreciated.

On the third day of my solo trip from Tokyo to Saga, I stayed at Shunkeiya in Takeo Onsen. It is located right next to the Romon Gate, and the building is very clean and beautiful. They prepared a 14-tatami corner Room for me even though I was traveling alone, and dinner served in the Room was wonderfully varied and absolutely delicious. The attendant assigned to my Room was also excellent, and the free-flowing natural hot spring water was superb. Even though I was on my own, they provided Shuttle Service to the station—an Accommodation where everything was thoughtfully taken care of. I love traveling and have stayed in many places, but considering how reasonably priced it is, I was satisfied with everything here. If it were in the Kanto area, I could visit often—it's a shame it’s not. Next time, I would definitely like to come again with my wife. This first solo trip became a truly wonderful memory for me.

It’s not in the Onsen town, but it’s within walking distance. The food was delicious, and the bath on the top floor was also great. The Facility was clean, and everything was good right through to the final send-off. It made me want to visit Gero Onsen again.

We stayed in the Luxury Suite as a family of four. The Ryokan slippers were a bit hard and uncomfortable to wear. Other than the distance and cold walk from the Room to the large public bath, everything was excellent. The rental yukata and hair accessories were lovely. On snowy days, we recommend avoiding the Yamanami Highway. We are grateful for the front desk's kind advice on the best route home.

We were able to spend a relaxing Obon holiday as a family of three. The meals were very delicious, and we also enjoyed taking our time with coffee at The Perch. Since our daughter started working in Osaka, our family has taken a small luxury trip every summer for 2 nights and 3 days somewhere near Osaka. This was our third visit to Arima Onsen, and we were able to truly unwind. The food was especially wonderful, and we look forward to it every time—my husband even said this was the best meal he can remember having here. The Accommodation itself is a charming building that conveys a sense of history, which we really appreciated. We also liked that the bathing area had separate spaces for the bath and the washing area. However, the shower pressure was weak, so we think it would be even better if that could be improved. (Personally, I was disappointed that the open-air bath in our Room was not Onsen water and that the shower water pressure in the Room was weak.) Overall, it was a very memorable stay. Thank you very much for taking care of us for three days.

Both the cuisine and the service are excellent. The Room has a traditional Japanese farmhouse style, and we were able to relax.

We stayed with our 4-year-old. With a loft and a terrace, our child was delighted, saying, “What a lovely house!” The place was well prepared for the cold, with plenty of flowers and soft indirect lighting. The bathroom and changing area were spacious and easy to use. It would have been perfect if it had an Onsen, but the water was pleasantly soft. We also appreciated the juice and snacks as a parting gift. We’d love to stay again!

We enjoyed a peaceful lake, soothing birdsong, and time that felt like a world away from everyday life.

The in-Room dining tasted great, and the portions were very satisfying! If I had to say one thing, it would be perfect if the time between courses could be a bit shorter. I ended up feeling full while waiting (lol). The open-air bath in the Room was also amazing—I think I used it about 10 times (lol).

The Room I stayed in was very clean! The brochures on the desk were neatly arranged, and the bathroom was also spotless! It felt great when I entered the Room. Also, the shared kitchen was nice.

I am a senior resident of Osaka, and this was my first visit to Tenkawa Village. Thank you for taking such good care of us. From my 30s onward I was constantly away on long business trips, then worked overseas from my late 40s through late 50s. After retiring at 60, I was assigned alone to a domestic affiliate company—15 years living apart from my family in total. During that time, I left all childcare and household responsibilities to my wife. Now that I have reached my second retirement at 65, I wanted—at the very least—to make it up to her. Because she loves nature (gorges, limestone caves, views from high elevations, and more), and because seeing fireflies was her top wish, we chose Nishisei as a Ryokan with delicious cuisine in an area where we could enjoy firefly viewing as well as an Onsen. We stayed one night from July 10 to 11. We arrived a little early for check-in, but you kindly welcomed us right away. While sightseeing, my wife lightly twisted her ankle. When I mentioned it to the female staff member in charge, she immediately brought us a cold compress patch. After dinner, you also drove us to a spot where we could see fireflies. Just as we had heard beforehand, everyone in this area is truly kind—I felt genuine hospitality throughout our stay. The manager told us that it might be hard to know whether we would be able to see any fireflies due to the timing of the season; however, at the riverside spot he guided us to, there were what seemed like well over one hundred flying about—a sight that even surprised him! We were deeply moved by the incredible swarm of fireflies unlike anything we had ever seen before. My wife said that every part of this trip matched her tastes perfectly and that she enjoyed it immensely. Personally as well—the Onsen (a bit hot but wonderfully refreshing afterward), the delicious meals served in our spacious private dining room-style setting, and the dancing fireflies—everything impressed me greatly. Thank you very much for your wonderful care and hospitality.

I was worried about getting there, but the Onsen with the open-air bath was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful and impressive. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

Although there is only one type of spring source—our favorite sulfur Onsen—we enjoyed how the water color differed between the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The open-air bath also offered beautiful fresh green maple leaves, and we would love to visit again during the autumn foliage season. The meals were a satisfying amount for enjoying drinks, with seasonal items as well. The asparagus tempura in particular was outstanding. The building is old, but the Room had been renovated and was clean. From the Room, we enjoyed the garden flowers and fresh greenery.

A charming accommodation limited to only three groups per day, offering an exceptional stay with its location and outstanding hospitality, allowing guests to fully enjoy a country-like retreat from check-in to check-out. The twin room features a veranda overlooking a vineyard, with trains running almost parallel to the accommodation at its edge. In the evening, you can witness the slow passage of night trains against the backdrop of a serene countryside sunset. The bathroom is designed with glass walls (ensuring privacy from outside), allowing guests to gaze at the night sky and stars when turning off the lights during nighttime baths. This unique feature, combined with silky-smooth onsen water directly sourced from natural hot springs, invites repeated indulgence throughout your stay—enjoying unlimited access without any interruptions. Additionally, meals include handmade dishes such as Bungo beef and pot-au-feu in perfect portions that are simply delightful. Guests can also savor wine made in-house from grapes grown on-site—a rare treat due to its limited production. Located in Yufuin, one of Japan's most famous onsen destinations, this is truly an extraordinary accommodation experience!

The cuisine, room, Onsen, and hospitality were all wonderful at this Ryokan. The price was also very reasonable. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, and I loved the location as well. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance.

In conclusion, we stayed with two meals included, and it was absolutely the right choice. This is Hoshidare Accommodation. From the compact exterior, you enter using the password sent in advance by email, and you’re greeted by a wonderful entrance with white gravel! There are handwritten message cards from the manager everywhere, and although you don’t meet anyone in person, it really feels like a warm welcome. The Room was just the right size, and it also had a washer-dryer and a humidifying air purifier. Amenities included loungewear, yukata robes, and bathrobes—and it was my first time ever having two bath towels per person. Meals are self-serve for heating and plating, so we fumbled a bit at first, but preparing everything while chatting was fun too. The presentation was gorgeous, and there was more than enough food. I was worried about how many drinks would be available, but there were plenty as well. They even put a name label on our bottle of sparkling wine. I was impressed by how delicious the tap water was—smooth with no harshness at all. The bath is an alkaline hot spring with free-flowing source water; it was so amazing that I went in again and again. The hair dryer is Dyson—definitely exciting—and they also provided various face masks and lotions. The good-quality ice cream after dinner was pure bliss. Even the main dish at breakfast—the homemade Sendai beef stewed curry—was incredibly delicious... Overall it was fantastic, so I’d absolutely like to stay again. If I had to mention one thing: the pre-stay email arrived late morning on the day before check-in, which made me worry whether my Reservation had gone through—but since the site clearly says they’ll email by the day before, it’s not an issue. Also, I wasn’t sure which plate to use for curry—I hesitated over that one! I definitely want to come back again.

I stayed here again for the first time in a year with my sister and my 95-year-old mother. We requested the same top-floor Room as last year, with a private bath. The bath is filled with Onsen water, and since my mother’s legs have weakened and she can’t go to the large public bath, our main purpose was to let her soak in the Onsen. Another highlight is the wonderful service from the female staff at the dining venue—warm, pleasant, and truly excellent. The meals are of course delicious too (haha)! The only drawback is that the lounge in the first-floor lobby is not barrier-free. It would be perfect if there were a ramp.

Thank you for letting us use the Shuttle Service many times. We were surprised to see a Japanese serow cross right in front of the Hotel. The meal unusually did not include sashimi, but since it’s in the mountains, we felt that was perfectly fine in its own way.

The Room was spacious enough for a solo stay and very clean, so I could relax comfortably. The Onsen was a bit hot for me, but it felt wonderful. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. If I visit the Iwaki area again, I would definitely like to stay here again.
