I stayed here with my husband and our dog. The owner is a true dog lover, and our dog was able to relax and feel at ease. The Accommodation was very clean, thoroughly well maintained down to every corner, which made our stay very comfortable. And most of all, the bath was a wonderful surprise! The open-air bath was fantastic. Since we were the only guests this time, we could enjoy it at our preferred times and soak in peace—it felt like a real luxury. Dinner was Italian cuisine: appetizers, two pasta dishes, Nasu beef, and dessert. Everything was truly delicious. For breakfast we could choose between pizza muffins and French toast, but we wanted both so we ordered both and shared. The French toast in particular was outstanding! We had a relaxing and enjoyable time with our dog, making it a very satisfying one-night trip. We would love to visit again.

This Hotel was the very purpose of our trip to Kagawa Prefecture. We didn’t do any sightseeing at all, but from the bottom of my heart I’m so glad we came. Throughout the entire Facility, we could feel the owners’ attention to detail and refined sense of beauty in every corner, and at the same time we were truly grateful for their warm hospitality toward guests. Vintage and modern, Japan and Europe—things that are completely different were seamlessly combined through their sensibility. The interior design, the cuisine, and even its presentation were all wonderful and deeply inspiring. The old sofa in our Room had real character, was very comfortable to sit on, and matched perfectly with the modern furniture. Over time, the linen has developed such a beautiful color! I could really understand why the owner is so particular about that sofa. Also, since I’ve been considering buying the chair at the writing desk myself, I was happy to be able to try how it feels to sit in it. Everything they have selected was fascinating and exciting. Above all, their personalities are wonderful—we definitely want to come back again. (A stylish husband and an adorable wife!!) We’d love to stay in other Rooms as well, and see the garden in a different season too. For us, this was a truly meaningful encounter that brought new insights. We were blessed with great weather on this trip—clear skies every day and stunning views of Mt. Daisen and the Sea of Japan from the mountain. Because this Facility comes so highly recommended, we arrived early to make the most of it. With the all-inclusive plan, we enjoyed a beer right away while soaking in the open-air bath on our Room’s balcony. The Room had a Western antique style, and everything—from the bed and furnishings to the tableware—was superb. The Italian dinner was outstanding and truly worthy of an auberge, and the house wine was exceptionally delicious. The hospitality was excellent as well; the owner personally greeted us, and we had a wonderful conversation. From around sunset, a sea of clouds began to spread out—so spectacular that even the owner said it was something rarely seen. We were able to fully enjoy both an incredible meal and breathtaking scenery.

I had such a wonderful impression when I stayed here before that this is my second visit. From the welcome sweets to the Japanese-Western fusion dinner and the hearty breakfast, everything was delicious. All meals were brought to our Room, so there was no need to change clothes, and we could relax completely. I also appreciated that when I informed them in advance about ingredients I can’t eat, they accommodated me properly. During our 3-day/2-night stay, all of the staff took great care of us. I had the chance to speak with five staff members, and every one of them provided excellent service! They were polite and warm, and I truly felt well looked after. The only thing I noticed was that the shower drainage was a little slow. Even so, overall it was a lovely Accommodation where we felt very comfortable. Taking an open-air bath early in the morning while listening to bush warblers singing was an unforgettable experience. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

This is my favorite Accommodation: the well-maintained interior always helps me feel refreshed both body and mind in the Room’s open-air bath, and I can enjoy a French course dinner in casual attire. I will definitely stay again.

I’ve been staying here every year for the past few years, and I’m always extremely satisfied no matter when I visit! The Room, the bath, and the meals are all wonderful—especially the staff’s hospitality, which is outstanding! Everything is taken care of so thoughtfully. This was my first stay at this Accommodation, and I stayed in the “Kunugi” Room. After reading Reviews beforehand, I arrived excited about the view from the Room and the generous meals—and in conclusion: it was amazing!! The view of Mt. Yufu from the open-air bath in the Room was breathtaking, and the interior had a lovely retro feel. Above all, it was incredibly spacious! That said, I personally don’t do well with insects, so coexisting with nature was a bit challenging (lol). I didn’t use the open-air bath much; instead, I enjoyed taking in the great outdoors through the glass window of the indoor bath. It made me think, “I want to come in winter!” and “I definitely want to come again!”—I’m already checking my schedule. Just as the Reviews said, the meals were very filling. There’s no way you won’t end up full! Everything was so delicious that I even had seconds of rice. They also offered to make onigiri for a late-night snack, so I gladly took them up on it (lol). After dinner, a staff member delivered the onigiri to my Room. I’ve stayed at many Ryokan across Kyushu, but this Accommodation is outstanding in terms of value for money and hospitality—an unquestionable 5 stars!! Seeing is believing. Highly recommended!! In winter, with clearer air, I’m sure you can see even more beautiful stars—so I’d love to visit again later this year or early next year. Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

I’d been wanting to stay here, and I truly enjoyed it in great spirits. It was a calm and happy stay. The books in the Room were wonderful, too! I was also very pleased with the various perks at Moegi no Mura!

This was my long-awaited trip to Huis Ten Bosch. I considered staying at one of the official Hotels inside the park, but chose this Hotel for its extensive Facilities, the large number of positive Reviews, and the reassurance of the Okura brand. Even before arriving at the main entrance by car, I was overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the building’s exterior. The stunning stepped atrium from the 1st to 3rd floors also set an exciting tone for a truly luxurious stay. The female bell staff member was exceptionally polite and kind, saying, “We’ll take your luggage up via a separate elevator, so please go ahead to your Room.” When I entered, there was an adorable teddy bear on the table by the window. The message card read, “Happy Birthday,” and since it was my birthday month, it was such a delightful surprise! She also wished me a happy birthday in person, which really moved me. From my Room we could see not only Huis Ten Bosch but also views out to open water—an amazing panorama. It was during the Obon holiday period so there must have been many guests staying, yet thanks to how spacious the Hotel is overall, it never felt crowded. Above all else, every staff member’s attentive service stood out. I’ve stayed at many Hotels and usually find something to complain about somewhere—but this time there wasn’t a single issue, and I enjoyed every moment in complete comfort. While this is clearly a Hotel designed with visits to Huis Ten Bosch in mind, once you cross the bridge there’s also a JR station (remarkably close to the waterfront), so on day two we took the train and went as far as Sasebo. It’s also very useful as a base for sightseeing in Nagasaki City or Sasebo. The breakfast buffet had an excellent variety with plenty of both Japanese and Western options—I ended up eating far too much. This was my first time visiting Nagasaki and Huis Ten Bosch, and it became an unforgettable trip full of wonderful memories. Next time I’d love to stay longer—this truly is an outstanding Hotel. Stayed with my Yorkshire Terrier and mother. The interior has a European feel down to the details, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The room is spacious enough, and there was no unpleasant smell. The onsen in the room allows for easy access to a relaxing bath, which was very enjoyable. We only had breakfast during our stay, but the meal on the second day was very delicious. For dinner, please note that you need to choose such a plan or make a reservation in advance; ordering after arriving at the hotel seems difficult. Dinner costs 10,000 yen per person, which felt a bit expensive. However, there are no nearby places within walking distance for dining out easily, so please keep this in mind.

This Hotel is surrounded by lush greenery and has a very calm, relaxing atmosphere. Time seemed to pass more slowly, and I was able to unwind and forget about everyday life. The staff’s hospitality was exceptional, and their warm welcome left a lasting impression. I would definitely like to stay here again. Hearing healing music from inside the pool felt truly mystical—it was a first-time experience unlike anything I’ve had before. It perfectly matched the Hotel’s ambiance, and I had a wonderful time.

The guest room was very clean and beautiful. The hiba wood bath smelled wonderful and was amazing. The atmosphere of the building was also great. And the food was incredibly delicious!! The sashimi at dinner was so fresh it was hard to believe we were staying at an Accommodation in the mountains. For breakfast, we were very satisfied to enjoy many local dishes such as Aomori’s famous ika-menchi and Towada barayaki. Most impressive of all was the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail. Since we had a small child with us, thank you very much for all your consideration. In particular, the staff member who assisted us at dinner welcomed us with a wonderful smile, creating a memorable experience that will stay with us. Thank you very much. We visited as a large group, and everyone praised it as an outstanding Accommodation. We would definitely love to visit again in another season. Thank you for a wonderful time.

It was my first stay in a while, and it remains a wonderful Hotel. The approach leading straight from the public road to the main entrance is elegant and picturesque. Since it opened in 1935, the Facilities are not the latest, but that is exactly what gives it a unique charm. The staff’s service was also impeccable. For dinner, we enjoyed classic French cuisine rather than today’s modern fusion style—it was delicious. As is true of Unzen’s tourist areas in general, this historic destination is rich in nature, and I imagine maintaining both the Facilities and the gardens must be challenging for those in tourism. I’m sure there are many difficulties, but I truly hope you will continue to preserve this beautiful Hotel.

The building features German architecture with meticulous craftsmanship down to the smallest details, and the striking fireplace is lit with logs at dinnertime, soothing you with the gentle crackle and flicker of the flames. The meals were also outstanding French cuisine. The tableware and cutlery are excellent as well, making the dining experience even better. Elegant Lladró pieces add a touch of color to the Room. In every respect, you can truly feel the host’s heartfelt hospitality.

After five years, we finally had the chance to stay at Otogi no Yado Komeya. Over the past five years, we made several Reservations but had to Cancel the Reservation due to circumstances. This time, determined to make it happen, we went on a summer Onsen trip. The Room, hospitality, and cuisine were all outstanding. The free-flowing Onsen in particular felt like a high-quality lotion. We left feeling refreshed in both body and mind. This is our number-one Accommodation that we would love to visit again. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

We stayed to celebrate my partner’s birthday. In our Room, there were welcome fruits, a towel cake and cake for the birthday celebration, and a message card from the Hotel staff. I initially wondered if paying around 100,000 yen for one night in Kyoto—an easy day trip—might be a bit too extravagant, but we also received Hotel credit as an IKYU Gold member benefit, and overall it turned out to be a very satisfying stay. We enjoyed the Hotel activities and the bath facilities, and I was also happy with the daruma we received when leaving. After turndown service, the soft drinks in the refrigerator had been replenished as well. These days more Hotels don’t even offer turndown service, so I felt that Six Senses really takes care of those details—exactly as you’d expect. For me it was definitely a splurge stay, but since our satisfaction level was high, I’d love to come back again when I have the chance.

This was my 8th stay at the FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto—my absolute favorite in Kyoto, which I love so much. I was visiting Kyoto for a friend’s grand opening celebration, and at the perfect time I received a birthday coupon from the FAUCHON spa. So I decided, “Let’s treat myself to a special birthday FAUCHON hotel stay!” I planned it with excitement—booking the towel cake I’d seen on Instagram and in Reviews on IKYU.com for the first time, along with the spa’s pink bubble bath that had made me unbelievably happy before. It was my third time staying in an East Higashiyama-view FAUCHON Suite, but the sofa and table layout had changed. The moment I entered the room, I couldn’t help cheering at how adorable the towel cake was—I took tons of photos and enjoyed it to the fullest! The handwritten “Happy Birthday” message on my key card, and the illustrated birthday card placed with the towel cake, became precious keepsakes that I brought home as treasured memories. The cute hand-drawn illustrations on both the full-length mirror and bathroom mirror also made me feel endlessly happy every time I saw them. I’m truly glad I chose to spend my birthday hotel stay in a FAUCHON Suite! Since my Plan included lounge access, I spaced it out from my spa appointment and enjoyed an early dinner and drinks. Along with my favorite champagne and umeshu, after enjoying the Shigaraki-ware bathtub in my room once, I topped up fluids and sugar with cola and sweets before heading to the spa. Even for the pink bubble bath at the spa—which I had been looking forward to so much—they prepared another towel cake with a heart. After having my tired feet massaged, I returned straight to my bed in the room and instantly fell asleep—I was blissfully happy beyond words. The next morning, I woke naturally before 4:00 a.m., watched dawn during magic hour, wrote myself a birthday card using one of the room postcards (and mailed it at a postbox at the end of my trip), enjoyed tea and coffee, and savored that Higashiyama view from by-the-window table. The steamed breakfast served in bamboo steamers at restaurant breakfast, as well as a birthday message cake after checkout—and even iced tea brewed by Grandy Master—everything was delicious. It was simply amazing. After buying souvenirs, even tag message attached to tote bag when they stored luggage were adorable too. Until leaving The FAUCHON Hotel Kyoto at last , this is best lingering feeling remained; It was best-ever FAUCHON hotel stay of mine!
