We’d been looking forward to staying here because of its great reputation for food. Every dish was carefully prepared, and the homemade sweet bean paste in the dessert was lightly sweet and delicious. We wanted to eat it again, so we made a Reservation for November. At the large public bath “Kawa-no-Yu,” you can enjoy natural hot spring water while watching goldfish. There is also a private bath on the 3rd floor of the main building. You can also use the private baths at the annex Tamaya, making this Accommodation perfect for amazing food and Onsen!

The front desk service was courteous, and I appreciated that they promptly called a taxi for the next day. The Room was clean and comfortable. In addition, there is a convenience store attached to the Hotel, which is handy even when it’s windy and rainy. I would like to stay here again.

It’s a bit of a walk after leaving the station, and the approach to the Hotel isn’t very attractive. However, the Hotel itself was excellent. The building is old, but the Room felt thoroughly clean in every corner, and the air conditioning was comfortable without being overly cold. The unit bath was fairly spacious, and with the bath salts provided I could stretch out and relax, which helped relieve my fatigue. I was also personally happy that the skincare amenities were from Kalahari. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming with warm smiles. It was my first time in Mito, and I’m glad I chose this Hotel. When I visit Mito again, I’d like to stay here again. Thank you for your hospitality.

Despite the long spell of autumn rain, we were blessed with sunshine and were able to relax while taking in the view from our room—blue skies with white clouds, the sea and horizon—and being soothed by the sound of the waves. The hot springs left my skin smooth and moisturized and warmed me through to the core, and the rooftop open-air bath was amazing with beautiful stars overhead. The food was delicious as well. With a focus on local vegetables, fish, and carefully selected ingredients, every homemade dish was wonderful. It even made me ask if you serve lunch too… but you don’t (which is understandable), so that’s a shame. All the more reason to come back! While parts of the building do show their age, it has been renovated beautifully; using single-slab wood pieces and driftwood throughout gave it a retro, calming atmosphere with great attention to detail. In every way, this was an outstanding place to stay. I will definitely return. Thank you very much.

Three generations of our family, including myself, stayed here. We truly appreciated the thoughtful care shown throughout our stay, especially the consideration for my mother, who has difficulty walking, and we were able to relax comfortably. When we visit Arima Onsen again, we would love to stay here. Thank you very much.

The Facility is old, but the rates are affordable, and since the meals are kaiseki cuisine, we enjoyed them at a relaxed pace. Above all, the Kanmon Bridge and the Kanmon Strait can be seen from the Room, bath, and dining hall—absolutely wonderful. We were able to take our time enjoying the view of various ships coming and going. We will stay again.

We stayed here as a couple on this trip. Before booking, we saw it on TV and knew we wanted to visit, so we decided to stay here! The welcome drink was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly kind. Both dinner and breakfast felt luxurious, and everything was delicious. It was a hotel filled with smiling guests. Next time, we’d love to bring our grandchildren and enjoy it together! I thoroughly enjoyed the Accommodation. This was my second stay, and it’s still very much to my taste. All of the staff were extremely kind and pleasant. I used the large public bath a total of four times! I especially love the balcony just before the bath—after bathing, I sit on the balcony, feel the sea breeze, and cool down as I dry off. As for the meals, it seems there has been a change in who prepares them, and the menu has a distinctive twist. Preferences may vary. Also, last time I stayed I remember feeling that the portion sizes were just right or perhaps slightly small, but this time there was more than I could finish.

The Facility is a bit old, but it was very clean and extremely comfortable. The meals were standard, but the content and portions were just right for an elderly couple; everything was delicious and we finished it all. The bath was clean with a great view. The open-air bath in particular was a cypress bath with an excellent view, and it was wonderful. If we have the opportunity, we would definitely like to stay again.

We stayed here to visit Oarai Aquarium and Kairakuen Garden. There was a welcome drink, so we had coffee before heading to our room. For three guests, the room had twin beds plus a full set of futons. The room had been renovated in a modern style and was very comfortable, and we loved the view from the window—right in front of us were the river and bridge, with the ocean beyond. Dinner was Japanese cuisine at the restaurant, with sashimi and fried dishes as well, and there was more than enough food. They also offered free ramen at night, which my son happily went to enjoy. Breakfast was a buffet with a wide selection; they grilled fish on the spot and it was delicious. Excellent value for money—we’d definitely like to stay again.

After a round of golf, I drove about 100 km on the expressway with my group and arrived at the Ryokan. Contrary to the first impression from the exterior, I was surprised by the charming atmosphere the moment I stepped inside. The Room was clean and well maintained, and the Onsen had excellent water quality that left me feeling refreshed. Dinner offered an appropriate number of dishes with well-balanced seasoning, and I was amazed by the boat platter of sashimi. Breakfast was also very delicious, and we left the Ryokan with a great impression—everyone in my group was pleased.

The staff were kind and attentive. Every dish in the full-course French dinner was delicious. There was a wide selection of wines, and choosing one was fun. Breakfast was also excellent. We enjoyed all the activities and experiences. We would love to stay again.

Facing the Kanmon Straits, it was soothing to watch the ships passing through all the time. The meals were carefully selected and delicious. It was also great to be able to see the straits from the bath; however, the bath was quite crowded with many local residents, which surprised me a little. As a request, I think it would be relaxing if you could use some aroma fragrance or incense in the corridor where the Room is located.

I arrived feeling a bit uneasy because it was relatively inexpensive and a smoking Room. I checked in around 9:00 pm and was greeted with a smile. They clearly explained the bath, changing clothes, and breakfast. The entrance area felt spacious and luxurious. Other than a toothbrush and towels, you pick up whatever amenities you need at the amenity bar near the front desk, and you also borrow loungewear from shelves nearby. It looked like you could choose between yukata and jinbei. If you have a lot of luggage, this might be a bit of a hassle. It seemed they offered late-night soba from 9:00 to 9:30 pm, but I wasn’t very hungry so I didn’t use it. The elevator area and hallways are on the darker side, but it gives a calm atmosphere. Some Reviews mentioned odors, but I didn’t notice anything in particular. When I got to the Room, it was cleaner than I expected, and there was no noticeable smell. It felt like: two beds in a large Japanese-style room, futons in a smaller Japanese-style room, and one bed in a smaller Western-style room. The air conditioning worked well and kept us cool. Internet is available via both Wi‑Fi and wired LAN. Wi‑Fi tends to slow down when it’s crowded, but if you connect your own small wireless router to the wired LAN, it’s comfortable. The bathroom and toilet were separate, and both were kept clean. The toilet has an electronic bidet seat. Breakfast is buffet-style: Western options like bread rolls with sausages, nuggets, and egg dishes, and classic Japanese items like white rice with grilled fish, natto, and miso soup. You can drink Saza Coffee at the complimentary drink bar (no extra charge), and even take it back to your Room. Very nice! It’s close to Hitachi Seaside Park, so demand is high depending on the season, but if possible I’d like to stay here again next year.

As we were at a point where we might have to leave Tokyo due to my daughter’s job assignment, the three of us stayed at Shohakukan in Onahama. It’s a historic building, but it was thoroughly cleaned down to every corner, so we felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay. We chose a room with a private hot spring bath and a massage chair! The in-room hot spring had an authentic sulfur scent that really made it feel like a true onsen experience, and we took turns using the massage chair as a family to soothe our travel fatigue. Upgrading the meals was absolutely the right decision! Crab, grilled dancing abalone, Joshu beef steak, simmered splendid alfonsino (kinmedai), deep-fried mehikari… everything was incredibly luxurious, and we enjoyed so many local specialties. Every dish was truly delicious—I almost felt bad that we couldn’t finish everything. Sorry about that! Another unforgettable part of our stay was chatting with the wonderful attendant wearing glasses. She shared so many enjoyable stories about the inn’s history, sightseeing spots, and recommended sake, making our trip even warmer and more memorable. Thank you very much. In the midst of our busy daily lives, it meant so much to relax as a family of three again—enjoying great food and unwinding in the hot springs—and it made us fall in love with Fukushima for the first time. We would love to return again someday. Thank you sincerely for everything!

I took the cable car from Tsukubasan Shrine and, not realizing the climb would be so steep, I hiked up to the ropeway station in light clothing. The Onsen afterward was truly wonderful. The temperature was just right and the water felt gentle; after soaking several times, I went home without sore muscles and hardly any fatigue. After returning home, I realized I had left something in the safe. You kindly sent it to me by courier, and even included a letter. I really appreciated your thoughtful kindness. All of the female staff were very pleasant, and thank you for making my stay so comfortable.

Staying in this relocated traditional house made me feel pleasantly nostalgic. It was also great that the bath was available 24 hours a day—my skin felt smooth and moisturized afterward. And above all, the seafood was outstanding. Every dish felt like a main course, and then the final blow was the nodoguro rice bowl—I thought my stomach would burst, but it was so delicious I couldn’t leave any and finished it all. Even though I wasn’t fully hungry yet, breakfast was incredibly good as well. It was my first time eating squid with grated daikon—what an eye-opener; I’m going to try it at home. The rice was delicious too, and then there was even abalone-and-mozuku rice porridge with a nice kick of ginger. Once again, I ate everything. I was afraid to step on the scale after getting home. But I definitely want to come back.

It was a very comfortable Room. The seafood dishes were also excellent. The bath was clean and we enjoyed it. After checking out, I realized I had forgotten my hat and called; they helped me, and it arrived at my home the next day. It became a wonderful memory. I will visit again.

I felt this was a historic and luxurious Ryokan. I was especially amazed by the splendid, ornate convention hall where we had dinner and breakfast. The building itself feels like it has withstood many years of harsh weather, yet you can still sense its former grandeur. From the Room, we could enjoy a panoramic view of the vast Pacific’s rough waves and the cliffs of the Izura Coast that seem to carry thousands of years of history—it truly made me glad we came. That said, there were a few points that concerned us. The Room is based on a traditional Japanese-style layout with thoughtful touches for usability, but there is a large step between the tatami area and the space with the sofa set, so those like us with knee and lower-back issues need to be very careful. Also, because the entire Room temperature is controlled by an air conditioner in the tatami room, it felt difficult to adjust the temperature in the bedroom farther away. While many Ryokan have become increasingly digital recently, there were no complicated digital devices here, which actually made things easier for us to use. When we bought souvenirs at the shop and asked for shipping delivery service , we were told that shipping fees could only be paid in cash and that charging it to our Room was not accepted. We weren’t carrying cash, so we had no choice but to take everything home ourselves. There seemed to be various explanations given, but since this is something commonly available elsewhere, I hope you will consider improving this point. We really loved the meals. Many locally sourced ingredients were used, and every dish was deliciously prepared. In particular, the grilled dancing abalone was outstanding in freshness, size,, tenderness,,and flavor—everything about it was excellent.. The simmered red fish and shabu-shabu hot pot also had slightly richer,, sweeter seasoning that perfectly matched my taste.. I also enjoyed their unique breakfast dish where grilled mackerel is warmed in a small pot before eating.. The timing of serving each course was excellent as well,, allowing us to savor every dish one by one.. For access to public bath , walking down long covered wooden corridor from lobby lined on both sides with large glass windows felt open airy enjoyable . It was great bath experience . I don’t think there were any guest survey forms provided , but I thought it impressive how hostess visited tables during dinner greeting guests listening opinions naturally through conversation . All staff left good impression . The driver who took us station on departure day drove safely which appreciated . Thank you very much for your hospitality .

I’ve stayed at Kiya Ryokan many times. I can’t visit in winter due to transportation and my crab allergy, but from spring through summer it’s the perfect Ryokan for working up a sweat. In particular, when I take a steam bath in the cave-like area, I feel not only my skin but even my lungs are refreshed by the radon in the air I breathe in. The hot spring source is very hot, which is probably what makes this kind of steam bath possible. In the other baths too, the warm rocks underfoot feel wonderful, and I’m always amazed by the fresh heat of the Onsen bubbling up right into the tub. Misasa really is good for your health—especially Kiya Ryokan, where you can thoroughly cleanse yourself from within.
