I chose to stay here because of its charming atmosphere, and I was sure my husband would like it too. Before booking, I called to ask about the room amenities. The head chef handed the call over to a female staff member, but her tone felt a bit harsh, and for a moment I hesitated about staying. However, once we actually arrived, that impression completely changed. Everyone who assisted us during our stay was very warm and welcoming, with genuine hospitality, and there was nothing at all that concerned me. The property was spotless throughout, and the lounge was comfortable—I was able to relax at ease. Above all, the food was outstanding. Each dish was prepared with great care while considering harmony with soy sauce, and I could truly feel the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion behind the cooking. Although the dishes made excellent use of soy sauce flavors, they never left an overly salty aftertaste—even after finishing everything—and I enjoyed every bite until the end. Because dinner was so exceptional, I would have been even happier if breakfast had been a bit more substantial. Including not only the cuisine but also the atmosphere and overall comfort of the inn, it became a truly memorable stay. This is a place I would definitely like to return to.

We had a wonderful time enjoying activities such as exploring caves by pleasure boat and at the private beach, and collecting sea glass. What impressed us most was how comfortable the bedding was. We slept very well and would love to use similar bedding at home. If you don’t mind, we would be grateful if you could tell us the manufacturer and product name of the bedding you use. Thank you for such a lovely stay—we were completely satisfied and would definitely like to stay again.

This was an Onsen trip with my mother and two daughters. Overall, both my mother and I were very satisfied. The price is not cheap, so it goes without saying that the Facility, amenities, and meals were excellent, but above all, the staff’s attentive service and thoughtful hospitality were outstanding. The bath in our Room was wonderful, and we also enjoyed the large public bath that switches between men and women in the morning and at night. The Onsen is sulfur-rich and warmed us up thoroughly. If we have the chance, this is an Accommodation we would definitely like to visit again.

My family and I stayed here the day before our Kamikochi sightseeing trip. The young proprietress was very friendly and easy to talk to, and her unpretentious, thoughtful hospitality was truly comfortable. The open-air bath in our Room felt amazing—I could have stayed in it forever. Dinner featuring Hida beef had so many dishes that we wondered if we could finish them all, but everything was delicious and we all ate every last bite. The beef tataki we received as a gift from the Accommodation was also outstanding! They also kindly helped us plan for the next day’s Kamikochi sightseeing, making our stay completely satisfying. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Kamikochi!

We stayed here for the first time with our dog to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The welcome drink and dessert were very delicious! The welcome treat for dogs also seemed tasty—our pup finished it in no time! There’s also a drink bar available at certain times, which was great. They even have alcohol, which was the best!! The dog run was air-conditioned, so it was comfortable even in midsummer. Our dog ran around until completely tired out. Dinner is buffet-style, so it’s hard to decide what to eat (lol). The roast beef and sashimi served as a one-plate set at the table were amazing! Alcohol is available for an additional fee, but the food is so good you can’t help wanting a drink (lol). You can dine together with your dog, and there’s also a buffet just for dogs, so we really enjoyed the meal. Since it was our daughter’s birthday, we ordered a cake for an additional fee, and it was delicious as well! The staff celebrated with us too, and our daughter was thrilled! You can also use a private bath. We used it this time; we had 90 minutes, so we could relax without rushing. Dogs are allowed in the private bath too, which is wonderful! There were post-bath drinks and ice cream in the fridge—also fantastic! It’s well worth paying the extra fee! By the way, I also used the large public bath in the morning. The view was great, and it felt wonderful bathing while looking out over Lake Hamana! The breakfast sandwiches were filling and very tasty! They come with pudding too—again, amazing! One of the reasons this Hotel felt so good is definitely how pleasant all of the staff are!! Everyone we met was smiling; they talked to our dog and played with him too. Our pup got lots of love! If I had to mention something negative: although parts have been renovated, there were some areas where you could feel that the building itself is old and showing its age. But personally, there were far more positives than anything else. How easy it is to stay with your dog here, how great the staff service is, how delicious the food is, how relaxing the baths are—we went home satisfied as a whole family! I’m glad we chose this Hotel for our first overnight trip with our dog. We’d love to stay again!!

Although it was my first stay, I was instantly captivated by the beauty of the property and its exceptional cleanliness. The location from our room was perfect, and the in-room hot spring—always ready to use without adding heat or water—was truly soothing. This time I stayed while hosting guests from the United States, and I was deeply impressed by the staff’s hospitality. Even though we arrived late for dinner, they welcomed us warmly without a hint of displeasure. What surprised me even more was that they quickly translated and printed an English menu on the spot. My companion was equally moved. They also kindly accommodated our train schedule by moving breakfast 15 minutes earlier, showing thoughtful flexibility that truly considered our situation. This is a wonderful ryotei that genuinely makes you feel glad you stayed—one you’ll want to brag about. Next time, I will definitely bring my family!

It’s a bit far from Tokyo, but I’m truly glad we stayed here! The property was very clean, and the lounge had plenty of drinks—my excitement started the moment we arrived. For dinner, we ordered horse sashimi and a three-sake tasting set separately, and it was amazing. Highly recommended. Breakfast was also delicious across the board. The Onsen was relaxing since it was always empty whenever we went (not just the private one), and we were also able to use the baths at a larger affiliated Hotel, which made us very satisfied. The Room was comfortable, and I slept soundly. Above all, the warm hospitality from all the staff made us feel at ease. We’ll definitely be back again. Thank you for taking such great care of us.

We stayed during the latter half of Silver Week. The weather was great on the first day, so the views were beautiful and we were very satisfied. It really is better when the grape leaves are still on the vines! We arrived at CAVE D’OCCI before noon, completed check-in, and had lunch at a nearby café. We ordered a pasta set—just the right portion and delicious. After that, we joined a private winery tour, which ended with a wine tasting. Everything was so good that we bought 12 bottles of wine! Since there was still time before dinner, we went to an Onsen Facility about a 3-minute walk away and relaxed. Back at the Hotel, there was complimentary white wine during happy hour. From 5:30 p.m., dinner was served with wine pairing. The food was excellent, and the wines were great as well. Since only CAVE D’OCCI wines are offered, there are no full-bodied options, so preferences may vary. Breakfast was also delicious—the tomato juice is outstanding!

This Accommodation overlooks a dam lake and the surrounding forest. All you see is nature—no signs of people in the landscape. There is an open, panoramic bath. With a roof and glass doors that can be closed, it may not be a true open-air bath in the strict sense, but it is very comfortable. All-inclusive, including draft beer after bathing. There’s a great selection of quality alcohol, and plenty of snacks as well. You’re free to take them back to your Room. I like their generosity. It’s perfect for an easygoing stay-in retreat. The Room isn’t overly large, but the toilet and washbasin area are spacious enough that it doesn’t feel cramped. Dining in a booth draped with long noren curtains while looking out at the scenery is truly gourmet dining in every sense of the word. The staff seem few in number, but everything runs efficiently with no wasted movement. Alcohol here is also free-flowing—it feels great. It’s quiet at night. At checkout, there was naturally nothing to pay at the counter—clean and simple—and I left thinking how much fun it was. My rating is subjective: I gave “value for money” a 3 (as expected for the price).

The Room was very clean, and I was able to stay comfortable throughout my entire visit. What I especially loved were the infinity pool and the sauna. With only seven Rooms available per day, it never felt crowded, and I could relax and enjoy them at a leisurely pace. The views were stunning, and you can truly experience an extraordinary escape from everyday life. The staff’s hospitality was also excellent, making my stay very pleasant. Breakfast was delicious, and the bar had a wonderful atmosphere as well. Being able to enjoy drinks slowly while taking in the view was particularly memorable. It’s not an inexpensive Accommodation, but considering the Facility offerings, meals, service, and views, I felt it was well worth the price. I would love to stay again.

This was my long-awaited second stay. The fish-focused dinner was delicious, and I wanted to come back, so I stayed again. Yukata-style loungewear is provided, so I changed right after check-in and enjoyed the complimentary draft beer. With only a small number of guest rooms, it’s an Accommodation where you can relax comfortably and truly unwind. The rice cooked in a traditional iron pot at breakfast was excellent, and I also enjoyed the simmered golden eye snapper that I couldn’t finish at dinner. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was wonderful as well. Thank you very much. Thank you for taking such good care of us.

From the moment I arrive, I’m always deeply moved by the warm hospitality of being greeted by name. Check-in is extremely smooth, and I always love the guidance to my room and the kind, welcoming service from the bell staff. My requests made in advance were fully accommodated, and everything about the room setup and housekeeping was flawless down to every detail, allowing me to stay comfortable throughout my visit. I’m always grateful to the housekeeping team. The spa reception staff also provided wonderful service, and the concierge team’s quick and polished support was a great help. The limited-time Shine Muscat roll cake I had at the pastry shop “Sweets & Deli” was exceptional and became a delicious memory that stayed with me. I also enjoyed spending time at the lobby lounge and would definitely like to return again. Everything is truly perfect—this is a wonderful hotel that leaves me completely satisfied from the bottom of my heart. I would confidently recommend it to my loved ones, and I will definitely stay here again.

During our trip to explore Kumano, we stayed at Aoki Shima no Yado Kumano Bettei Nakanoshima. What impressed us first was how smoothly everything was handled from the moment we arrived. At the parking area by the port waiting lounge, we simply gave our name and a staff member guided our car for us, and we were able to complete check-in right there in the lounge. The sea viewed from the port was exactly as the inn’s name suggests—truly an “azure sea.” We were moved by its beauty as soon as we arrived. As explained in advance, it takes about five minutes to reach the property by private boat from the port. Even this short boat ride felt like a special touch that made it wonderfully out of the ordinary. Throughout our stay, what stood out most was the high level of hospitality from all staff members. Everyone seemed well trained, and their service was both polite and naturally warm. With the Kumano Kodo registered as a World Heritage site, it seems visitors come from all over the world, and it was impressive to see how confidently and appropriately they assisted international guests as well. What I had been looking forward to most on this trip was the open-air bath. Just as rumored, it’s an incredibly open and relaxing rotenburo with sweeping ocean views right in front of you. From 3:00 p.m., we took our time enjoying the hot springs while listening to the sound of waves—an indulgent experience indeed. Since the men’s and women’s baths alternate daily, we also enjoyed the other open-air bath starting at 6:00 a.m. The hot spring in crisp morning air felt especially refreshing. The meals were also excellent—many delicious dishes making great use of local ingredients—allowing us to fully enjoy flavors unique to Kumano. The staff member assigned to our table provided attentive service throughout, so we could relax and enjoy every moment of dinner. It takes about five hours by car from our home, so it isn’t easy for us to visit often—but even so, this is a wonderful place where we would love to stay again. This trip combined sightseeing at Seiganto-ji Temple, shrines in Kumano, Nachi Falls, and our stay on Nakanoshima into one truly memorable journey. We are grateful for the beautiful sea views, outstanding open-air baths, delicious cuisine—and above all—for everyone’s heartfelt hospitality. If you’re considering a trip to the Kumano area, I highly recommend this property.

Once again, I was very satisfied with everything—the cuisine, the hospitality, and the Facility—and was able to relax. Last time, I mentioned that the meat dish at dinner was a bit fatty and that I would appreciate a leaner option, and you kindly changed it to filet. Also, last time at breakfast, the delicious dried horse mackerel was served near the end of the meal, which was a little disappointing; however, this time there was no such issue and I was extremely satisfied. The soba served as a late-night snack during bar time was also delicious. The only disappointment this time was the bad weather—everything else was perfect. (As always, I ended up drinking too much.) I would love to visit again to relax. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation has become more upscale in recent years and is now a bit of a splurge for me, so I visited this time to take advantage of a great deal. As always, the Onsen was wonderful, the meals were delicious, and the Room was spacious and very comfortable. I was also happy that you remembered my various requests from previous stays. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality again—I’d love to visit again when I find another opportunity.

We enjoyed a “staycation,” with lounge hopping across four lounges as the main highlight. First, we walked from Shinagawa Station to the Hotel, but IKYU’s directions said “cross Daiichi Keihan…,” so we crossed the signal right after exiting the Takanawa Exit. However, the route to the right after crossing was blocked due to construction, so we had to turn back. After exiting the Takanawa Exit, it’s best to turn right and walk along Daiichi Keihan, then turn left at the first traffic light onto Sakura-zaka. Alternatively, since it’s a continuous uphill slope, I think taking the shuttle bus would be a good option. We visited all four lounges, and as expected, Hana-Kouro’s lounge was the most relaxing; the drinks were also of higher quality and excellent. The champagne during cocktail time—and Dassai—was a real treat. We also enjoyed tasting different sake. There were some light bites during cocktail time, but it would have been even better if there had been additional hors d’oeuvres. Breakfast was delicious as well. It was our first time trying a matcha grinding experience, and we really enjoyed it. At the lounge, the staff maintained just the right level of attentiveness throughout without being intrusive, which made it very comfortable. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. This was my first stay here, and I was impressed from the start by the unique tea served on arrival. The room was thoughtfully stocked with every amenity you could hope for. I also enjoyed the private bath and the meals. The attentive, detailed hospitality was wonderful. One small thing: perhaps it was just bad timing, but when I visited the shop a few times there was no staff present, so I hesitated to call someone—though I was able to shop the next day without any issues. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

The front desk staff were wonderful! Even though we checked in after midnight, they kindly accommodated us. We stayed here the night before heading to Kusatsu Onsen. This time, our family used the Special Room. As soon as we entered the Room, it was incredibly spacious!!! The bathroom in particular was huge and amazing!! There were plenty of amenities, which was really helpful—and when we opened the refrigerator, there were complimentary drinks!! There were also cup udon noodles on the table for each of us!! The service was excellent and we were very satisfied! For this price, the Room size and service are more than enough. A truly satisfying Hotel!! We would love to stay again.
