I visited during the rainy season, a time I don’t usually choose. Both dinner and breakfast featured exquisite dishes that felt refreshingly cool to the eye and captured the early-summer atmosphere, lifting the gloom of the rainy skies. What makes this Accommodation truly exceptional is being able to enjoy outstanding cuisine at any time, thoughtfully crafted to reflect the season through sight, aroma, and taste. I also deeply appreciate the warm, friendly hospitality shown by all of the staff.

The staff’s calm, welcoming atmosphere created a truly relaxing space, and I felt very comfortable throughout my stay. - They provided an aromatic hand towel and water on the Shuttle Service bus - They took us to the golf course restaurant in a lovely cart - When I asked the concierge in advance about sightseeing, they gave me lots of brochures and handwritten notes on the day Everyone—including the front desk and lounge staff as well as the souvenir shop team—was genuinely kind and wonderful. I was truly impressed. Everything was new and spotless, and the Room was spacious with an amazing view! The breakfast buffet was also outstanding: freshly baked brown sugar French toast, made-to-order Okinawa soba, dim sum, smoothies, plenty of fruit, and more—an incredible variety that was both luxurious and delicious. I’ve made a Reservation for December as well, and I’m really looking forward to it.

My friend and I stayed for one night and two days. That morning, we joined a river kayaking tour, and since there were no changing facilities near the river, I asked if it would be okay to arrive still wearing our wet wetsuits. They kindly agreed, which I truly appreciated. We were dropped off by the tour staff, and the moment we arrived, the breathtaking view of a beautiful infinity pool under a clear blue sky spread out before us—I couldn’t help but shout, “Wow, amazing!” We were shown to seats by the poolside, and even before checking in my friend said, “Wow… I should’ve brought my laptop. Next time we have to bring our laptops and stay longer for a workcation.” We were then shown to our Room. When I tried to open my suitcase, it wouldn’t open—an unexpected mishap—but after speaking with the butler right away they prepared an adorable tracksuit that could be worn over swimwear and arranged a rental car for us. Thanks to that, we were able to get it opened at a local gas station we had found in advance. For dinner, they prepared a handmade welcome plate inspired by the kayaking experience and the sea turtle nesting observation tour we had done—it was moving from the moment we sat down. Every dish was something new to us and absolutely delicious; in particular, I loved the peach sorbet served by the pastry chef. We got so caught up in eating and chatting that we stayed late, yet the chef still came out with a smile to see us off all the way until we boarded the golf cart back to our Room. The next morning we joined a kokedama (moss ball) workshop and enjoyed making one while learning all kinds of things about plants. I’ve forgotten the plant’s name now, but when I mentioned that I like tea, they also wrapped large leaves that can be enjoyed as tea together with my kokedama. We were probably the noisiest guests during our stay as just two people, yet everyone treated us with kindness until the very end—I’m nothing but grateful. Next time, I plan to bring my laptop and come back for a longer workcation stay.

Although I have stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans in Japan and abroad, there are surprisingly few Hotels that I can look back on later and truly feel were a great stay. This time, however, even after more than a month, the wonderful afterglow of the trip still remains. The Room, restaurant, and pool were all impeccably maintained, with thoughtful attention evident everywhere—nothing felt lacking or excessive. A major reason was also the excellent hospitality from the female staff member who welcomed us from check-in. I was also happy that there were no guests being loud or disruptive, and I am truly grateful to have found a Hotel I can return to with a smile and say, “I’m home!”

First of all, the dining was outstanding. We tried the French, teppanyaki, and sushi restaurants, and everything was perfect. If these were in a city, each would be a hugely popular spot. All the staff were kind, and you can really feel their dedication to welcoming guests. The Room had a large glass wall facing the ocean, and we had an amazing time on the balcony—enjoying coffee while looking out at the sea and having breakfast there as well. The pool is generously sized, so you can swim properly. We enjoyed going back and forth between the pool and the jacuzzi in the bath area all day long. It truly felt like paradise at this Hotel. We plan to return many times.

From check-in to departure, it was a truly relaxing stay. Not only could I get away from the usual hustle and bustle, but I was also able to unwind in a space where I could feel nature in a different way than usual. The Hotel credit was included, so I enjoyed drinks at the bar as well. It was a wonderful time with excellent service and great drinks. I would love to stay again.

We arrived in heavy rain and were feeling pretty discouraged, but this Hotel was so wonderful even in the rain that we were truly glad we chose it. On the second day, the weather cleared beautifully, and the Pacific Ocean stretching out right in front of our Room was breathtaking. The meals made great use of local ingredients, and every dish had its own charm. Thanks to dinner and breakfast being offered in time slots we could choose from, we were able to relax and take our time while enjoying the ocean view. After breakfast, we stepped out from the restaurant into the garden and came across many rare tropical plants—banana trees with blossoms and fruit, pandanus (adan), hibiscus, shell ginger flowers—and even hermit crabs. We also used the two private family baths twice, which completely washed away our travel fatigue. Everyone on the staff—from the restaurant to throughout the Hotel—was very kind, and they shared lots of local tips you won’t find in guidebooks. The Oshima Tsumugi Museum was also outstanding. It felt like we learned a bit about Amami Oshima’s history, making it a truly meaningful experience. Thanks to this trip, we also discovered painter Kazuo Tanaka (Isson) and became big fans. We would definitely love to stay at this Hotel again next time.

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay of four nights. Above all, this Accommodation is truly pet-friendly. We visited with both a dog and a cat, and they both seemed relaxed and happy. There were plenty of amenities for dogs and cats, plus facilities such as a dog run. We could stay with peace of mind, and all the staff clearly love animals, which made our time here even more special. The Japanese staff were wonderful as expected, and the international staff were also incredibly polite—so much so that we initially thought they were Japanese—always with warm smiles. It gave us the sense that the training and working environment here must be excellent. The staff deserve more than five stars. Meals are à la carte, so you can choose whatever you like each day in any amount you want. This was especially appreciated during our Multiple Night Stay, and everything was consistently above average in taste. They offer a great balance of both Japanese and Western dishes, so we never got bored. Every day was delicious. Alcohol at night at the bar, as well as drinks in the Room refrigerator, are included, which is very reassuring for those who enjoy drinking. In addition, 30 minutes of spa treatment per day was included; I even received a massage and felt truly healed. The Room was neither too large nor too small—just right for two people—and it was well designed and easy to use. The hot spring water left our skin smooth and glossy; it was excellent. Both the indoor bath and open-air bath are fed directly from the source (free-flowing), and we could adjust both volume and temperature using only the natural spring water. It’s pure luxury. These days many Hotels or Ryokan only allow smoking in designated areas, so being able to smoke on our private terrace attached to the Room is something smokers will really appreciate, especially if you want to have a drink on the terrace while enjoying a cigarette. Because the terrace is surrounded by high walls, our cat could also go for walks there safely. Cats tend to run off easily, so it’s rare to let them stroll freely—this was another great point. Our cat looked completely at ease. It was our first time visiting Kikuchi City. There are many wonderful places nearby including Kikuchi Gorge, and Aso is less than an hour away by car, making sightseeing very convenient. Since there is a university stable near this Accommodation, there may occasionally be a slight animal smell, but that isn’t an issue caused by this Accommodation itself. And since this is an Accommodation that pet lovers choose specifically because they travel with animals, I think it’s simply something not to worry about (it didn’t bother me). This is a fantastic Accommodation where you can truly relax with your pets. Thank you very much.

It was my first stay in a while, and it remains a wonderful Hotel. The approach leading straight from the public road to the main entrance is elegant and picturesque. Since it opened in 1935, the Facilities are not the latest, but that is exactly what gives it a unique charm. The staff’s service was also impeccable. For dinner, we enjoyed classic French cuisine rather than today’s modern fusion style—it was delicious. As is true of Unzen’s tourist areas in general, this historic destination is rich in nature, and I imagine maintaining both the Facilities and the gardens must be challenging for those in tourism. I’m sure there are many difficulties, but I truly hope you will continue to preserve this beautiful Hotel.

All the staff had wonderful smiles, the art-filled space was relaxing, and the food was excellent—our child was smiling the whole time. We thought it would be even better if children could stay together in a wider variety of Rooms. It became a great summer memory.

It was our first trip to Okinawa in a while. In the past, we traveled with our children and visited many places, so we didn’t spend much time at the Hotel. Now that we are both in our 60s, we enjoyed a relaxing Multiple Night Stay for two nights. Because it is a remote island a little far from Naha, we could truly feel the authentic, non-touristy Okinawa. Not only was the food wonderful, but being warmly chatted with by the staff was the greatest “reward” of all. We became fans of Kouri Island and One Suite. We would love to visit again.

I always stay here the night before my departure from Hiroshima Airport. This time as well, I was able to relax in the welcome lounge, and I really enjoyed the delicious breakfast. I request the Shuttle Service between the airport and the Hotel every time, and this time the flowers in the lobby were even more beautiful than usual—I couldn’t help but stop and admire them. I’ll definitely stay again!

The cuisine was outstanding and truly moving. Each dish reflected careful selection of fresh local ingredients and meticulous preparation. Given the location, I expected excellent seafood, but the vegetables were beyond anything I imagined. This Accommodation is well worth going out of your way for.

I was looking for a Room with an open-air bath and in-room dining. About a 45-minute drive from Kanazawa, with a zoo and the mysterious Hanibe Gankutsu-in nearby, it felt like the perfect place for the first night of our 2-night, 3-day trip, so we decided to stay here. First, when we arrived about 10 minutes past check-in time, everyone was waiting outside in this heat, and since we weren’t used to that kind of welcome, we felt truly apologetic (lol). I was surprised by how vast the grounds were—our Room was spacious, and best of all, it had the semi open-air bath I’d been hoping for! Having a dedicated staff member (?) take care of us throughout our stay also made us feel at ease. This time it happened to be my companion’s birthday month… and when I casually mentioned it, they gave us a birthday gift at dinner. On top of that, the proprietress even put on a surprise (no spoilers), which made it such a fun and memorable experience. We heard the meals change daily, so I think even a Multiple Night Stay would be enjoyable. There are also two large public baths that are more than enough to enjoy even without an in-room bath—we were able to relax and unwind. Above all, we really appreciated the warm hospitality from all the staff. In the end everything worked out well, but since it was their birthday month I requested an additional dinner item in advance; however, on the day we were told that if we ordered that menu they would like to serve dinner not in our Room but in another private dining room instead. Since I had been looking forward to in-room dining as well, I would have appreciated being informed at the time of ordering that this might happen. That said, the room they prepared for us was private—and actually it worked out better for messy people like us because we didn’t have to rush around tidying up before dinner—so we were very satisfied. Next time I’m thinking of visiting during my own birthday month so I can experience the proprietress’s surprise again. Thanks to you all, it turned into a wonderful Kanazawa trip. This was our first stay on the Club Floor in two years, and thanks to your courteous and pleasant service from check-in onward, we had a very comfortable time. Maybe it’s Okinawa, maybe it’s The Terrace Hotels—either way, the juice in this lounge always tastes especially delicious. We also visited the newly introduced nightcap service, and it was wonderful to relax after dinner with coffee at Maroad. There were piano performances on both nights; each pianist arranged familiar tunes from Studio Ghibli and Disney that anyone can enjoy, and my wife and I had fun listening while guessing the song titles. A lounge staff member who assisted us two years ago even remembered us—just as my wife and I had hoped—and we truly enjoyed chatting together. This time we also used the gym and La Sima for the first time, and my wife was delighted, saying, “This was our most enjoyable stay at The Naha Terrace ever!” Thank you again to all of your staff. We look forward to seeing you again next year.

This was my first stay, and it exceeded my expectations—it was a wonderful experience. The Room was spacious and clean, and the food was delicious. The villa pool also made our children very happy. Since the grounds are very large, getting around by cart was convenient. The staff were kind and provided excellent service. I would love to stay here again when I visit Miyakojima!

Last summer, we stayed here for the first time and our whole family was thrilled to enjoy such an extraordinary getaway, so this year we extended our stay to three nights. Since we thought we might not make it by check-in time, we let them know we would be late, and they responded very pleasantly. Check-in was until 6:00 PM, but when we arrived around 7:00 PM and went to reception, the staff greeted us with a wonderful smile and said “Welcome back,” providing truly perfect service. Right after checking in, as we drove out for dinner, we noticed that the decorative lights that had been on earlier were now off—and realized they had turned them on as a landmark to help us find reception. We felt sorry for the trouble and were impressed by how thoughtful the staff were. Because we have a dog, we chose a type with a large dog run and BBQ facilities, and it exceeded our expectations. The Room was spacious and spotless, amenities were well prepared, and it was so perfect it was hard to find anything to complain about. We’d love to keep using it like a vacation home in the future, and I think it’s also ideal for multiple families or three-generation trips.

It was simply amazing!! I’ve stayed at many large Ryokan, and I was delighted to enjoy both the scenic-view baths and a variety of hot springs. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with more food than we could finish. Everything was truly delicious—thank you very much. The building had a classic, long-established feel, but the staff’s hospitality was outstanding. We stayed with our child and had a great time without ever getting bored, thanks to the pool, fishing, arcade, and play area. It made us want to come back again if we get the chance. We debated among several Accommodations on Awaji Island (including sister properties), but we’re congratulating ourselves for making a great choice with Hotel New Awaji.

I stayed here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. It was stylish and spotless, and all the staff were very friendly, so I felt comfortable throughout my stay. The amenities were well stocked, so I could stay without bringing anything. Breakfast was delicious with a great variety. The only thing I wished for was tomato juice. I also enjoyed watching planes take off and land from the rooftop terrace. I think the sky and Mt. Fuji would be even clearer from autumn through winter. It’s close to the station, so it’s a great option for early morning flights or late arrivals as well. Having a convenience store right nearby was also very handy. This is a Hotel I’d love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

This Accommodation comes highly recommended by a renowned Hotel critic. Although it is away from central Nagasaki, I think it is a Hotel well worth going out of your way to visit. The Room was of a level you normally couldn’t stay in at this price. We arrived early for check-in, and the staff recommended a walking route around the Hotel—about 40–50 minutes on foot. Since it feels quite isolated without a car, we also had dinner here. It’s an expensive set-course dinner, so my rating was slightly strict because of the price. They also offer an à la carte menu. For breakfast, I chose the Western option. It felt a little lacking that there was only one type of bread—the same round French loaf as at dinner. The Japanese breakfast might be more recommendable. I requested Shuttle Service from the port and communicated by email; their responses were fast and excellent. That alone shows this is a first-class Hotel. Because of the ferry schedule, it looked like we might arrive just before lunch service ended, but they did their best to accommodate our request (in the end we switched to an earlier ferry so it wasn’t necessary). Also, the ferry from Sasebo was not as rough as I had feared—an easy and comfortable 30 minutes. There’s too much to say here, but I’m truly grateful for all the thoughtful care shown by every member of staff. “A Hotel worth making your travel destination.” That’s what this place is.
