This was my first stay, and just as everyone says, it was a truly wonderful Accommodation. The food was delicious, the Onsen water was silky-smooth, the staff were great, everything in the fridge was free, and the price was reasonable. The view was beautiful and very relaxing. Also, since I love drinks, I was thrilled by the wide selection of rice shochu... Thank you very much! I’ll definitely visit again.

This auberge is well known as an Accommodation serving outstanding fish-focused cuisine. The owner couple are genuinely kind, and you may find it hard to leave. As an auberge, it’s not the place to expect luxurious Room amenities, but they provide a clean and comfortable space. I reduced the bath rating by one star because the private bath is no longer an Onsen, but considering how satisfying the meals are, it more than makes up for it. Dinner is excellent, making full use of high-quality ingredients, but breakfast is equally impressive—be sure to take your time and enjoy it.

The private family bath was spacious and even had a waterfall feature, with the water at just the right temperature, so we could soak and relax. The atmosphere of the large public bath was also wonderful. The meals featured local ingredients, the portions were just right, and we were very satisfied! If you have mobility issues, going up and down to the first floor may be difficult, but it was a quiet place to spend time. We’d love to visit again after a hike in the mountains.

It was a wonderful Accommodation, just as the Reviews said. The food, the interior throughout the property, and the furnishings in the guest rooms were all tastefully chosen, and since there were only six groups of guests, we were able to relax even though it was peak season. The staff’s service was also excellent. It was an Accommodation that made us want to come back again after a long time.

The Accommodation, the staff, the meals, and the Onsen were all outstanding. The meat and eggs in particular were unforgettable. If I visit Yufuin again, I will definitely stay here!

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. This was a Hotel I definitely want to stay at again! Not only were the amenities and play area great, but the private family bath was surprisingly easy to use when we wanted, and we were able to relax and enjoy a bath together as a family. Free laundry and drying were also available, which was a huge help—especially with our 2-year-old, when we ran out of spare clothes and started to panic. Meals were buffet-style, so we ended up eating quite a lot and couldn’t make it for late-night snacks, which was a shame—but next time I’ll plan better (haha). Just one thing: the kids’ meals didn’t change much between breakfast and dinner, so our child got a bit bored. It would have been nice to have a little more variety.

This was our first stay as a family trip. The meals, the baths, and the hospitality were all extremely satisfying. Every dish was made with local ingredients, and the seasoning brought out the natural flavors—exactly to our taste. We also enjoyed relaxing in the log-cabin-style restaurant while looking out at the garden. We used only the open-air bath. Even though it was raining, the water temperature was just right and helped us unwind. *Since it’s completely outdoors, those who dislike insects may want to avoid it in summer—they do fly around. I stayed here with a friend this March and was so impressed that I returned in July with my family (as a couple). The dining menu had changed to a summer menu, so we were able to enjoy it again with a fresh perspective. With only eight parties staying at a time, this is a hidden-gem Accommodation: the Rooms are spacious, yet limited to two adults per Room. It’s perfect for anyone who wants to relax and unwind in peace. On the other hand, you won’t find sweeping views of Sagami Bay like those from the balcony of a high-rise Hotel (you can see the sea and Oshima Island, but they feel distant), nor is there an expansive garden. There is also no Shuttle Service from the station, so I recommend it for guests who don’t mind that. It’s well suited for making memories as a couple or with your best friend, and for celebrating anniversaries or special occasions. The in-Room open-air bath is spacious, and after bathing you can relax on chairs on the balcony. The food is delicious and very generous in portion size—and the timing of each course being served is excellent. The bedding was comfortable and I slept soundly. Considering this level of quality and service, the Plan pricing is reasonable. I would definitely like to return again.

From July 20, we stayed for two nights again. We traveled by train with two dogs. We’ve gotten completely used to it now, and that’s all thanks to the warmth and kindness of everyone at the Ryokan. I couldn’t make it without the Shuttle Service from the station. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful Shuttle Service. The meals reflected the season, and each dish was thoughtfully prepared and delicious. I rated the bath 4 stars because the stairs to and from the bath, and the airflow around that area, felt a bit uncomfortable for this time of year. The bath temperature was perfect for me. Thank you so much to all the staff for your kindness. We’ll be back again.

We were blessed with great weather this time, and the view from the in-room semi-open-air bath was wonderful. The Onsen may feel a little lukewarm, but it keeps you warm for a long time. We heard the meals had just been updated with new offerings, and everything was delicious. With all amenities provided, this Accommodation is truly appreciated for allowing us to visit lightly and casually. We would love to return again in different seasons. My family and I stayed here the day before our Kamikochi sightseeing trip. The young proprietress was very friendly and easy to talk to, and her unpretentious, thoughtful hospitality was truly comfortable. The open-air bath in our Room felt amazing—I could have stayed in it forever. Dinner featuring Hida beef had so many dishes that we wondered if we could finish them all, but everything was delicious and we all ate every last bite. The beef tataki we received as a gift from the Accommodation was also outstanding! They also kindly helped us plan for the next day’s Kamikochi sightseeing, making our stay completely satisfying. We would definitely like to stay here again on our next trip to Kamikochi!

Everything about the Accommodation—the Room, the meals, and the staff—was excellent and very satisfying. In particular, I was soothed by the soft, gentle waters of Sujiyu Onsen. The bath in the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and take my time.

I am an Onsen enthusiast who stays over 80 nights a year, mainly in Izu. I have stayed at Kameya Keian more than 30 nights in the past, and this year I stayed for 4 nights. The cuisine was artistic in presentation, and the flavor—especially the richness of the dashi—was something no other Hotel or Ryokan can match; it was absolutely outstanding. The Onsen water quality is excellent, as expected of the historic Izunagaoka Onsen, making this a top-rated Onsen Ryokan. I will visit again.

From the moment we arrived, the parking guidance, check-in, shop, and breakfast venue staff were all very welcoming, and their smiles and service made our stay truly comfortable. The Room was also clean and well maintained. We also appreciated the complimentary beer and ice cream after bathing. Thank you very much.

Our family of four, ranging in age from our 60s to 90s, enjoyed a relaxed and unhurried stay. We were very satisfied with the Onsen, the meals, and the Room, but above all, the warm hospitality of the staff truly put us at ease. The calm atmosphere of Owani Onsen was wonderful, and we would love to return once more before the snowy season begins.

The “Small-portion Gourmet Kaiseki” was just the right amount for seniors, and over our two-night stay the dinner was excellent in terms of ingredients, preparation, and seasoning. The breakfast also offered a variety of small dishes, and we were very satisfied from the morning with both dried fish and sashimi. The Onsen, Facility, and Room were clean and well maintained, and the staff were extremely attentive throughout our two-night stay. True to its name, it provided a five-star experience and made our trip to Izu a wonderful one.

After finally arriving through heavy rain on this trip, we were able to relax and enjoy our stay. The meals were served in a calm lounge, and we could really feel the care put into each dish. The Onsen was wonderful, but unfortunately, due to torrential rain severe enough to trigger warnings, the water temperature dropped on the morning of the second day. We were especially disappointed that we couldn’t use the bath in our Room. With expressways closed, sightseeing wasn’t possible at all, so we’d like to come back next time for a retry. The Accommodation is a pleasant, clean Hotel, and all of the staff were very kind.

We stayed one night at another Accommodation to get our “cat fix,” then booked a second night here as a couple after seeing reviews saying the food was delicious and you can meet adorable cats. The exterior is incredibly charming. We were able to use the “Now’s the Time for Ito!” campaign, so we got a great deal. We chose a Room with an ocean view, but unfortunately the weather wasn’t great, so we’d love to come back and try again. The baths are private and require a Reservation after check-in. In addition to an indoor bath, there is a semi-open-air bath with a small garden; it has a roof and walls so you can’t see the outside scenery. It’s genuine Onsen water, and since it was mosquito season, they even had an adorable cat-themed mosquito coil burning. Because we were leaving early the next morning, we chose a Plan with dinner only—but the meal was so surprisingly delicious it felt like something from a starred restaurant, and we regretted not adding breakfast. The sashimi was fresh, and each dish was carefully handmade—many unlike anything we’d had before. Everything was excellent: spring rolls, small side dishes, simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), white rice, and more. The hamburger steak served toward the end wasn’t greasy or heavy, and the portion size was just right. Dessert also offered variety—fruit, cake, and ice cream. The cookies in the Room (and even the souvenir cookies) were delicious too. This is an Accommodation worth visiting just for the food alone. We’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans around Japan, but my wife and I still talk about how amazed we were by how good the料理 here was. After dinner there was time to interact with the cats. It’s not really hands-on cuddling time, but the owner let us hold one of them and take photos (the cat looked slightly unimpressed!). The owner and his wife were extremely kind, and their hospitality truly came through. At checkout it was raining quite heavily; they lent us an umbrella for walking to our car—and even came out to retrieve it after we got in. We’d love to return.

I was impressed by every aspect of this stay. First, the food was truly outstanding. Not only were the ingredients excellent, but the menu featured an abundance of seasonal items that are hard to come by in everyday life—such as longtooth grouper (kue), Shizuoka-brand eel “Deshiko,” pike conger (hamo), kuruma prawns, and Kamo eggplant—and I was moved by each dish. There wasn’t a single miss: the dashi flavor came through beautifully, and the balance of ingredients and seasoning in every course was exquisite. The overall satisfaction was so high that it honestly felt surprising to be able to stay at this price while being served cuisine of such a high level. The Onsen was also wonderful. The bath area is new and kept very clean, so it was comfortable to use. In particular, Umenoya’s unique natural spring water at around 30°C was perfect for this hot season. Alternating it with the indoor bath at around 40°C left me feeling refreshed after bathing and made for a truly relaxing time. I highly recommend trying it this way. Above all, what left the strongest impression was the hospitality of the staff. When I accidentally dropped my chopsticks during dinner, one staff member immediately noticed and picked them up, and another staff member who saw this brought me a fresh pair. Their seamless teamwork showed how well they communicate on a daily basis, which really moved me. The proprietress has such a warm presence—always smiling and speaking to guests in a friendly way. Despite her young age, her attentiveness to guests and her awareness of everything throughout the Ryokan are exceptional; I don’t often encounter someone capable of providing hospitality at this level. It was an Accommodation that left me completely satisfied with its cuisine, Onsen, and service. I would love to return in another season to enjoy more delicious food and the Onsen again.
