While waiting for the Shuttle Service to the station after check-out, they kindly offered cold drinks and showed thoughtful care in many ways, providing truly attentive hospitality. The meals were delicious, and the tableware was stylish—both the taste and presentation were very satisfying.

We stayed as a family of three. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay—the atmosphere of the Facility and the attentive service from the staff. The French course featuring duck, which we had requested in advance, was carefully prepared dish by dish. Not only was it delicious, but the presentation and ingredient pairings were outstanding—truly showcasing the chef’s talent. Recently, we often choose “Sakagura,” and in any case it is wonderfully quiet. The entire building has a calm presence, allowing us to relax and enjoy unhurried time away from everyday life. As always, all staff members were kind and courteous. Their thoughtful attention to detail could be felt throughout our stay, and we were comfortable from start to finish. Once again, we felt this is a truly wonderful Accommodation where the cuisine, Facility, and service are all in perfect harmony. Thank you very much.

I stayed with my elderly mother, my niece who had returned from abroad, and my daughter. They were very kind and attentive to foreign guests, and they accommodated our food requests exactly as asked. We are truly grateful. Unfortunately, it rained heavily both days so we couldn’t do much sightseeing, but Hakone Shrine was within walking distance for a stroll. The next day the roads were closed and it was quite difficult, but the staff informed us early in the morning, which helped a lot and became a good memory for my nieces as well. I would definitely like to visit again.

Dear Kamon Team, To celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary, we stayed here for the first time, choosing your Accommodation based on Reviews around the Hakone area—and it turned into the best anniversary we could have hoped for. My wife and I are truly grateful. From check-in to check-out, we received impeccable hospitality in every way. Starting with the attendant whose wonderful smile looked after us, every member of staff was exactly as described in the Reviews—flawless in their manners and attentive to even the smallest details. The beautifully renewed design blending Japanese and Western styles was delightful, and everything throughout the Facility was thoroughly cleaned and well maintained, creating an exceptional sense of freshness and comfort. As lovers of traditional Ryokan stays, both my wife and I were completely satisfied. We were also impressed by the wide selection of stylish women’s yukata—and it felt almost too wonderful to receive a cute drawstring pouch filled with amenities as well. When we mentioned in advance that we were visiting for our anniversary, thoughtful touches awaited us at dinner: a framed red-and-white crane mizuhiki decoration, chopstick rests marked with celebratory characters, sekihan served in an adorable bowl with “good fortune” written on it—and even a commemorative gift of a ceramic tumbler set. The dinner course itself was outstanding: exquisite ingredients beautifully presented on elegant tableware, with staging that delighted all five senses. We could truly feel the aesthetic sense and craftsmanship of everyone in the kitchen team throughout. Of course, there was nothing to fault—the taste, portions, hot/cold balance, and perfectly timed serving and clearing were all impeccable. We have stayed at many luxury Ryokan and heritage Hotels every year for our anniversary, but there is no doubt that Kamon has become an unforgettable Accommodation for us. Even on our way home we couldn’t stop talking about your hospitality together. We would love to return again—thank you very much in advance when we do. Thank you very much for taking care of us during our 4-night Multiple Night Stay. This time, we stayed in the “Oryu” Room. First of all, every staff member was incredibly kind and clearly loves animals. Everyone greeted us with a smile, was gentle and attentive, brought anything we needed right away, and did their best to accommodate our requests. I’m truly grateful—your staff deserves more than five stars. Next, the meals. We were told they were prepared in a special-suite style, and both the taste and quality were excellent—high standard, delicious, and thoughtfully varied. Even over several days, we never got tired of them and enjoyed every meal. With longer stays, menus can sometimes become difficult for the kitchen side as well, but you handled everything so carefully. Since I’m also a small eater, you kindly let me choose from the menu and adjusted portion sizes accordingly. This also deserves more than five stars. As mentioned earlier, your care for animals was also very thoughtful and helpful. I visited with both a dog and a cat, and it seemed comfortable for both of them. The hot spring water quality was also wonderful. As for the guest room layout: there is a long corridor between the Room area and the bath area, which felt slightly inconvenient, so I deducted one star there. On the other hand, having an additional Room separate from the main living space made it easy to stay comfortably even when traveling with friends—an excellent design. Regarding amenities: there are no pet amenities provided (so bringing your own is necessary), but having at least a litter box available would be very helpful. The surroundings were also fantastic—like a hidden mountain hamlet. By chance we were able to see “Children’s Kagura,” which has deep history and is clearly cherished by the community. The performers practice extensively (twice a week), and while they are indeed children (apparently ranging from 3rd grade elementary school to 3rd year high school), their performance was outstanding and truly impressive. If your dates happen to coincide with it during your stay nearby, it’s absolutely worth seeing. (It seems Kagura is held several times a year; I’d love to see other performances as well.) I also felt that preserving traditional Japanese festivals like this is part of what makes this area so special—and I think it may become even more well-known in the future. It’s about 30 minutes by car to Yufuin Station, so even on an extended stay you can easily go shopping for necessities. Sightseeing around Yufuin should be convenient as well—and Beppu is also about 30 minutes away via expressway—so overall it feels like an excellent location for travelers who want to explore.

We arrived a little early, kindly left our car, and took a stroll around the area. Right away, we visited Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine next door. In the backstreets of this historic townscape, you can find Onsen springs here and there—perfect for wandering at leisure. Both inside and outside the property felt very clean, showing careful management throughout. The staff’s smiles, service, and conversation were all refined; we truly felt their hospitality and attentiveness, which made our stay very comfortable. From the Room we stayed in—named “Kirishima”—we enjoyed a view of the grove surrounding Suwa Taisha Shimosha Akimiya Shrine, full of charm and atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast featured local ingredients, and everything was delicious. We could also sense how dedicated the staff were, which made dining even more enjoyable. Bathing in the panoramic large public bath while looking out over the townscape glowing at dusk was exceptional. The water was a gentle Onsen that seemed to softly cling to the skin. Although it wasn’t in our original plans, we stopped by Harmo Museum about 7–8 minutes away by car after receiving a recommendation as we checked out. Driving along the well-maintained lakeside of Lake Suwa and enjoying wonderful paintings became a great memory for us. It was a truly relaxing Accommodation for adults—wonderful in every way. Considering the price, everything was acceptable. However, this isn’t the Hotel’s fault, but by 5 p.m. almost everything in the tourist area—including restaurants—was closed. The downside was that once it got dark, there was little choice but to spend time in the Room. I suppose there must be some kind of agreement among the local merchants.

I visited on the 17th and 18th of last week for a refresh vacation. When I arrived, there were so many people along the Narai-juku street that it was difficult to make my way in. The garden outside my Room was spacious and could be enjoyed from the floor-to-ceiling window, creating a calm atmosphere where time seemed to slow down. I was able to spend some quiet, relaxing moments. Both the food and drinks were absolutely delicious! I was also very satisfied with the dinner pairing—the selections matched perfectly. Personally, one dish featuring locally grown vegetables and the gin and tonic served as part of the pairing were especially memorable! The staff at BYAKU Narai were easy to talk to, and I really enjoyed our conversations—it became a wonderful memory. This time I missed out on trying the whisky, so next time I’d like to make sure I don’t forget. I also forgot to buy a bottle for home (haha).

I previously stayed here with my 4-year-old daughter, and while I was a little nervous about our first trip with a young child, we had a wonderful time—delicious meals and a clean Room, and we were very satisfied throughout our stay. This time, my husband was able to join us. The meals were different from last time but just as delicious as ever, and since we chose the largest Room, my daughter was thrilled. What made me especially happy was that the washing area in the women’s bath has been expanded! All of the staff were very kind, and we had a comfortable stay. We will definitely stay again as a family.

The cuisine was outstanding and truly moving. Each dish reflected careful selection of fresh local ingredients and meticulous preparation. Given the location, I expected excellent seafood, but the vegetables were beyond anything I imagined. This Accommodation is well worth going out of your way for.

This is a relaxing Accommodation. The staff always welcome us warmly. There are also several international staff members, and I’m impressed by how well they speak Japanese. I hope they keep up the great work. The food is delicious, and no matter how many times I have it, I never get tired of it. This time, I tried the Western-style breakfast for the first time, and it was quite good. I will visit again. Thank you very much.

I sincerely apologize for my late thank-you. This was our second stay. The front desk location had changed since last time, so I was a little confused at first. After we arrived, you upgraded us from Room KOURAI 202 to Room NOMATSU 403, which was an unexpected and wonderful offer, and we were truly delighted. As it’s the most popular among the staff, it was very spacious, with a beautiful view of the garden from both the bath and the Room—an exceptionally comfortable and calming place to spend time. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and since there was only one other group besides us, we were able to dine in a relaxed atmosphere as well. We also enjoyed visiting nearby Japanese sweets shops—it was great fun. We were deeply moved by how beautifully you filled in our travel memory book too. Done—we will definitely be back again. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

From the moment we stepped through the noren curtain, it felt special and exciting. The staff were cheerful and friendly, which was wonderful. The Room made me want to live there rather than just stay overnight. We enjoyed a delicious meal while watching the surroundings gradually grow darker. As an extra order, we had foie gras added on top of the meat, and it was excellent. Since it was an all-inclusive Plan, we fully enjoyed some great cocktails. It’s also close to Dazaifu, so we were very satisfied. I’ve already been recommending it to friends.

I had a memorial service in Inazawa City, Aichi Prefecture, and I usually book a Hotel in Nagoya, but this time I decided to look in Gifu and found this place. A (new) Hotel located inside a park. The front desk area and the Room were clean and functional. There’s no bathtub in the Room—only a shower—but there’s a public bath nearby, and guests can use it for 500 yen with the accommodation discount, so it didn’t bother me at all. Drink prices at the shop are reasonable too. There were no negative points at all, but if I had to mention one thing, it might have been nice to have a chair in the guest room (maybe I should have requested one). I was traveling with someone (this time my son in his 20s), and we ended up sitting side by side on the sofa, but the space between the sofa and the bed was narrow and a bit awkward to use—that’s about it. Recommended for young couples or families with children, including for its location.

A trip to Nara in the heat. But staying at this wonderful Accommodation helped me recover from the fatigue. I had written a birthday message for my friend, and they even surprised us by celebrating at breakfast. All of the staff were kind. This has become one of the Accommodations I’d like to stay at again.

The moderately American-style Room decor feels thoughtfully different from a typical Business Hotel. It was a new, clean Room. I was surprised that the bath and toilet were clearly separated. (The bathtub and shower felt like something you’d have at home.) The lighting in the Room is well designed, there are plenty of outlets, and it’s highly functional—overall, the hospitality far exceeded expectations for this price. Breakfast was also very satisfying in quality, and the other guests gave an elegant impression. There were a couple of moments when I noticed the soundproofing, but it was quiet at night.

I stay here frequently. I always feel relaxed thanks to the hospitality, meals, Room, and Onsen. The meals are very delicious—so much so that I end up overeating. The Room is also great: it’s comfortable for working and comes with an Onsen, making it perfect for a refreshing break. I will definitely stay again.

We stayed here as a couple during the Obon holidays. Even though it was the hottest time of midsummer, Tenkawa Village was wonderfully cool—a top summer retreat in Kansai where we could stay comfortable without using the Room air conditioner and without breaking a sweat. We had long admired the charm of Dorogawa Onsen and had wanted to stay there at least once, and choosing Hanaya Tokubei was absolutely the right decision. The whole town has a lovely atmosphere, but Tokubei stands out for its especially distinctive and tasteful building. Because there are few guest Rooms with private indoor baths in the area, we stayed in “Higashi no Tenku” with an indoor bath. The view is mostly of the courtyard, so if you are used to resort-style Onsen facilities it may not exceed expectations. Still, considering this is traditionally an Accommodation used by ascetics, we felt it was a true luxury and enjoyed it. The meals were delicious Japanese cuisine featuring plenty of local ingredients, with thoughtful touches throughout that kept our Multiple Night Stay from ever feeling repetitive. We were completely full but couldn’t bear to leave anything behind—and finished every last bite. Spending time on the veranda at dusk with a beer in hand while watching people pass by was simply wonderful. After sunset, strolling around the area in yukata is also great fun. Wherever you walk, the lantern lights feel magical, and Tokubei lends out portable lanterns as well. It was like stepping back into a period drama. There were also foreign staff members, and they were genuinely kind and attentive—we truly appreciated it. This is an Accommodation we would love to visit again. Highly recommended if you are sightseeing in Dorogawa Onsen.

The meals were very delicious. The staff were kind and pleasant. I appreciated the bath’s reheating function. The bath salts were also great. It was a Room that beautifully renovated a traditional storehouse.
