During a week-long trip to Aomori, I thought staying only at Onsen Accommodations might get boring, so we chose glamping for one night. It was absolutely the right decision! Check-in was simple and quick. You can drive right up, so there’s no need to walk far. The glamping Facility was spotless and flawless. The tent even had its own toilet, and although compact, it was well equipped with thoughtful amenities—clearly designed with guests in mind. Everything was impeccably clean. The fridge was stocked with plenty of drinks, and since we booked a meal-included Plan, everything was free! The meals were the perfect portion size and wonderfully balanced—seafood, mountain specialties, and meat—all excellent. At night, the Onsen is just a short walk away. It was also very clean and we were completely satisfied. Overall, everything was fantastic!

The food was delicious, and we were very satisfied with both dinner and breakfast. We were able to relax in the private bath at our leisure, which helped us fully recover from travel fatigue. The Room was clean and comfortable, and the owner’s warm hospitality left a strong impression. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to unwind in a quiet setting. If we have the chance to visit Nasu again, we would definitely like to stay here again.

The Room was simple, but it was properly cleaned. The man at the front desk was kind and helpful. When heading to the parking lot at check-out, I was able to see a rainbow.

My wife and I love in-room open-air hot spring baths, and we stay at inns around Japan about once every two months. Our stay at Sumika was extremely satisfying—the staff were wonderfully friendly. The owner (I think), who resembles Toyo Takeno, kindly took care of us even though we checked in during the busy dinner hours with crab service. Thank you so much! We were surprised by all the extra kindness and service, but that generous hospitality made us very happy. We wanted to book the crab course, but it was fully booked, so we reserved an in-room seafood rice bowl in advance. I believe it was 1,980 yen. It had more than 10 kinds of toppings, and each type of fish was clearly labeled with handwritten notes—the squid illustration was a fun touch. Everything was incredibly fresh and generously portioned, and every dish besides the seafood bowl also felt carefully prepared. We enjoyed everything and found it delicious. The private open-air bath in the room felt even more spacious than in the photos, with a large tub and wonderful water. We could stretch out our legs and relax to the fullest. Even though we stayed on an affordable plan, the quality exceeded our expectations. It made us think that if we stayed with the crab course… we might get hooked. It seems hard to get a reservation, but next time we’ll definitely come back for the crab course!!!!

It was a very cute hotel filled with flowers. There were charming touches throughout the property—like a flower bath, a flower-themed refrigerator, and even a dolphin vending machine—so it was fun just walking around and looking at everything. The restaurant was also surrounded by flowers, which really lifted my mood. The food was delicious: the sashimi was fresh, and the charcoal-grilled eel was wonderfully fragrant—I was very satisfied. The drinks were great too, and I ended up enjoying more than I expected. The live piano performance was excellent. All of the staff were pleasant and left a great impression. With its warm atmosphere, we had a wonderful time. I’d love to visit again.

Although it was very close to the Higashi Chaya District, it was in a quiet location where we could forget the bustle of the area. The Room had beautiful vermilion walls, and while the building is old, there were no inconveniences. Right after arriving, we were served Yoshihashi’s fresh Japanese confectionery and matcha, which were absolutely delicious. The meals were truly worthy of a high-end restaurant—each dish had deep, wonderful flavor, and the tableware was dazzling yet refined, making it a real pleasure. Breakfast also offered an impressive variety and was delicious; I was moved from the morning by the thick grilled flounder and jibuni. The proprietress and everyone at the Ryokan were courteous, and we could really feel its long-established tradition in a good way.

This Ryokan offers luxurious, delicious meals. Both dinner and breakfast are generous in portion size. The coffee service after breakfast is also a nice touch. It is popular with locals as well, and seems to host many group stays and memorial gatherings. The Facility is old, but the bathrooms have been renovated, and the baths are cleaned frequently and kept very clean. At check-in, you will receive a full set of basic amenities.

I stayed on a breakfast-only Plan. Since it was a solo trip I decided on suddenly two days before, I was disappointed that I couldn’t choose a Plan with dinner. Although I couldn’t have dinner, the breakfast was very delicious and I was completely satisfied. Above all, the owner of the Accommodation was very considerate in many ways, and I had a truly pleasant stay. Next time, I would definitely like to stay for the dinner as well. It was truly a wonderful Accommodation. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

This was our second stay. The first time was in autumn, and this time we visited during the beautiful season of fresh greenery, which made it even more appealing. Above all, the food is delicious—we were truly impressed. The Ryokan is quiet and relaxing, so you can unwind at a leisurely pace. Although we love traveling, we rarely return to the same Accommodation, but we would definitely like to stay at Nakamuraya again.

I love the nostalgic atmosphere. The meals were wonderfully lavish and let us fully savor one of the true pleasures of traveling—I was completely satisfied. Dining in a private room allowed us to enjoy ourselves to the fullest. Talking with the young proprietress was both entertaining and informative, and I really enjoyed our conversation. Above all, I was delighted by the thoughtful hospitality of the young proprietress and all the staff. I truly appreciate how kindly you responded to my inquiries even after my stay. (The coffee you recommended—I ordered it right away, and I’ve already reordered it for a second time.) I also thoroughly enjoyed the baths as much as I wanted. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us. I would love to visit again.

The room was very clean, and the view was amazing. All the staff were very polite and kind. We booked a plan with breakfast included. We enjoyed a relaxing meal in the dining area with a great view, and everything was delicious. We would definitely like to visit again. Thank you very much.

I’d been looking forward to staying at this new inn right in front of Ninna-ji Temple. It’s small, but it’s a wonderful adults-only hideaway where time seems to slow down. Beautiful paintings and obi clasps are displayed throughout the property, and you’re surrounded by a lovely fragrance wherever you are. Best of all, the entire building is covered with tatami mats, so you can relax completely in tabi socks and feel as if you’re barefoot. To my surprise, even the floor of the large public bath is tatami-covered—it felt fresh and incredibly comfortable. The private hot spring baths don’t require reservations, and it was great to be able to use them anytime they were available—I enjoyed them again and again. The view from the lounge is also amazing; seeing Ninna-ji Temple standing majestically right in front of you was truly special. There was never a time when it was too crowded to find a seat, and the beer poured into an ice-cold glass from the fridge was absolutely delicious! On top of that, there’s a great perk: everything in the in-room refrigerator is free—such thoughtful hospitality. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent, with very generous portions. They also offer Kyoritsu Resort’s signature late-night “Yonaki Soba,” but I was so full I couldn’t finish it—in the best possible way. On departure day we used the free shuttle bus to Dormy Inn near Kyoto Station, which was extremely convenient. The staff were wonderful as well—their smiles were warm, they chatted with us so kindly, and it really made our stay. I’d love to come back again.

Osakishimojima has long been a place I’ve admired, yet because of transportation it always felt like a faraway island. This time, my visit matched the image I had of the Mitarai Preservation District—preserving the charm of a good old era—while also letting me see young people carrying on and working hard to make use of the island’s rich tourism resources. It truly refreshed both my mind and body. The warm personality and thoughtful hospitality of the Accommodation owner made me feel grateful and completely at ease. And while the chef may seem a bit unfriendly at first (pardon me!), once he starts talking, his endless love for fish and dedication to cooking are delightful—and I also felt how dependable the younger generation supporting the island’s future is. There is no TV or audio equipment in this Accommodation, but outside the window are islands across the water, boats passing by, and a blue sky—scenery so wonderful it feels like there could be no greater luxury. It really did feel exactly as someone wrote in a Review: truly one of a kind. It was an incredibly precious one-night, two-day stay. I would love to visit again.

We chose a Room with a private Onsen and stayed there. It was our first time, and the futons were already laid out in the Room, with consideration given to minimizing unnecessary staff entry. As it is mineral spring water, it is heated, but the clear, colorless water was easy to soak in and warmed us up nicely even at a lukewarm temperature. The meals were excellent—sashimi and grilled fish that you wouldn’t expect for a place near the mountains. Insects may occasionally wander into the open-air bath in the Room, which some guests might find bothersome, but we were fine with it. If it were closer, we would love to visit this Accommodation again.

I stayed here because I wanted to ride the Dragon Road to Unzen, and this plan included meals. I was allowed to park my motorcycle under the eaves by the entrance. The building was kept very clean, and I had a comfortable stay. Amenities include a toothbrush, face towel, bath towel, and yukata. I was able to soak in the bath and get a good night’s sleep, and both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. Thanks to that, I could eat plenty in the morning before heading out. The view from the room was also great.

My first time on the Oga Peninsula. I chose this Hotel based on Reviews and my budget, and it was even better than I expected. The location, service, baths, and food—everything was extremely satisfying. The dining area is a spacious, comfortable restaurant with an ocean view. The Japanese kaiseki dinner was delicious from the appetizers to dessert. Personally, I especially enjoyed the sashimi, simmered sea bream head, and bitter melon & myoga tempura. Breakfast was also a well-balanced Japanese meal. Since I don’t like buffet-style dining, that made it even better for me. I used the baths three times, and maybe my timing was lucky because each time it felt like having them all to myself. In the open-air bath, I could relax while soaking and looking out at the sea. It seems the restaurant is also open for lunch; when I checked the menu, items like shrimp tempura rice bowl and Inaniwa udon looked great. Next time I’d like to book a Multiple Night Stay and try lunch as well. The Hotel staff handled everything—from the front desk to restaurant service to Shuttle Service—and I was impressed by how hard they worked. This is a wonderful Hotel with unbeatable value that makes me want to come back again if I get the chance!!

I chose to stay here after seeing photos of the cute Room and the luxurious crab dishes. I was worried because heavy snow was forecast, but since my Reservation wasn’t made through the Ryokan’s website, I was told I couldn’t make any changes and a Cancellation Fee would apply, so I went ahead anyway. The trip there was fine, but the trip back was really tough. I managed to enjoy visiting the public baths, and I was very satisfied with the lavish crab cuisine. Even though I thought having sukiyaki in the morning might be a bit heavy, I finished it all! The large public bath is small, but it had a ReFa shower head and hair dryer, plus a hot stone sauna area, so I enjoyed it. There were also various yukata to choose from, which was nice. I’d like to visit again on a day with good weather.

This was my fifth stay. Despite the high price, it was the worst so far. What was good: The Onsen hopping was as good as always. What was bad: At dinner, I ordered a draft beer, but it took a long time to arrive. When I rang the bell to call staff, the female attendant said, “Was it not served yet?” in an extremely unfriendly manner. Also, although I requested the same Room as last time, I was given one where the sink and toilet were in the same space. There were also steep steps inside, which was difficult for elderly guests. There were no power outlets near the bed, which was inconvenient. The TV couldn’t play YouTube (even though I have an account), which was very disappointing. It felt like an ordinary Room with only a massage chair. I will think twice about staying again next time.

This was our fourth stay, visiting at the end of summer with our two dogs. We love how delicious the dinner course is. The Room is clean, and we’re very satisfied with the private bath as well! It seems to be run by siblings, and they are calm, kind, and very pleasant to talk with. We come about once a year, but we’d love to visit again.
