In Uchiko, Ehime Prefecture. After driving from Kochi, we arrived at the hotel; as soon as we pulled up, a staff member came right out and guided us. After an exceptionally smooth check-in, we didn’t add any sightseeing at all—we spent our time simply enjoying the hot springs, the special guest room, and reading. As it was a weekday right after Silver Week, there were hardly any overnight guests or day-use bath visitors, and we were able to savor the luxury of feeling as if the entire property belonged to just the two of us. Above all, dinner far exceeded our expectations. My wife was deeply moved by how delicious everything was—so much so that after the meal she even asked both the chef and sommelier to sign our menu. Not only was each dish outstanding in itself; its elegance on refined tableware conveyed a sense of care and intention in every plate. By candlelight at our table, we were able to take our time and fully enjoy both the food and drinks at our own pace. The in-room hot spring bath was also memorable—especially the haiku placed alongside it, which added a quiet resonance to our time in the water. Personally, I felt this inn’s appeal lies not in extravagance but in being able to truly enjoy “the luxury of doing nothing.” Visiting on a weekday allowed us to appreciate that value even more deeply.

This time, my parents and I stayed here. We’ve stayed about four times, but it had been a while since our last visit. The staff’s service here is truly outstanding. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this ranks among the top one or two. Thank you very much.

This was our second stay at Sekiyo. We were upgraded from Taikan and were able to stay in Kangetsuan. It was our first time in a detached guest room, and it was very quiet. From time to time, small birds came to the tree by the window, and my spouse and I were able to relax at a leisurely pace. We also fully enjoyed both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The meals were wonderful—there were so many dishes that we couldn’t finish them all, and everything was delicious. The attentive service from the room attendant was excellent as well, and we would love to visit Sekiyo again.

I stay here repeatedly because I often have errands nearby, and once again I was very satisfied with my stay since I already know how convenient everything is. It’s a 2–3 minute walk to the streetcar stop (similar to a train station), and there is also shared-bike parking in front of the Hotel entrance, though the number of spaces is limited. I think this Accommodation is truly convenient for anyone staying long-term in Hiroshima City. All Rooms are twin Rooms with double beds, and the bathrooms are very spacious, so even larger guests should be able to relax comfortably. Depending on the Room, there may be a dedicated rack for hanging a road bike and an additional closet Room for storing large luggage. If I had to mention one thing: although there are vending machines, there is no complimentary water in the Room. Since it’s about a 5-minute walk to a convenience store or the nearest supermarket, it’s better to buy drinks in advance before checking in.

We stayed as a family trip with three generations. With wonderful facilities, lovely interiors, and delicious drinks and meals, we were able to fully enjoy everything. During our stay, we also enjoyed events such as Mountain Lights and fireworks, making it a truly memorable family trip.

This is the best Business Hotel in Osaka. Of course, there may be better Hotels at higher prices, but I think it’s the best option for under 10,000 yen per night. The peace of mind that comes from being served by Japanese staff is excellent. The only downside is that it’s hard to make a Reservation. I check it first whenever I go to Kansai, but it’s rarely available.

I was looking for a Hotel around Lake Toya where I could stay with my dog, and chose this Hotel— it was truly an outstanding experience. Both breakfast and dinner were exceptionally delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The facilities were clean and modern, and all the staff were wonderful. The only thing I noticed was that although you should be able to enjoy the beautiful view of Lake Toya from the bath, the outside view was blocked for privacy reasons. That part was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything was perfect, and we had a very comfortable stay with our dog. I would love to visit again!

From arrival by car to departure, we had a very pleasant stay. All the staff were cheerful and very kind, and the meals were excellent. When we left by car, it was especially memorable that they kept waving until we were out of sight. We would definitely like to stay again.

This was our second stay. Once again, we were able to fully relax and enjoy the hot springs at a leisurely pace in a room with an open-air bath. As always, both dinner and breakfast were delicious (we especially loved the five small varieties of dried fish at breakfast—our family prefers that over being served one large piece). The staff were warm and attentive, and we had a very comfortable stay. Because we like this inn so much, this time I brought my elderly father and my sister who lives in the city. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back, and I was happy that both of them enjoyed it as well. During our meal, a new staff member with a beginner’s badge served us with great effort; their fresh yet polite manner left a wonderful impression. We look forward to seeing their continued growth. Thank you again for such a lovely time. We would love to visit again with someone special.

A luxurious Facility where extraordinary koi swim. We were able to enjoy a sand bath, a ceramic bath experience, and a private open-air bath at no additional charge. All staff were kind and provided attentive service. The Japanese cuisine served at the Yakusugi cedar counter was exquisite, with tropical fruits used throughout that were as beautiful to look at as they were delicious. The entire property was spotless and impeccably maintained, and the star-filled sky we gazed at late at night from the free-flowing natural hot spring open-air bath in our room was beyond words.

Even after making the reservation, whenever I contacted them to confirm details, they were extremely helpful, which made me look forward to our stay. From arrival through the next day, every staff member was kind. Just as other reviews said, the complimentary drink service was great—everything from beer to juice, still water and sparkling water—so both adults and children were satisfied. I was also happy they had coffee freshly ground from beans. The room was clean, and it was soothing to have a small area outside the bath where you could step out for a bit. I had requested children’s amenities in advance, and they even included very cute slippers, which my child loved. For our dogs as well, we felt at ease: instead of being confined to a small crate, there were larger crates available, and with a belly band on they could relax freely in the room. I initially wondered if the meals might be on the smaller side, but there was more than enough. From salad to fruit it felt like a stylish course meal and everything was delicious. It rained that day, but the staff moved the grill to a spot where we wouldn’t get wet so we could still grill outside. Breakfast was delivered in an adorable basket; this also felt like a course meal and we were very satisfied. There is also a dog run nearby where our dogs enjoyed themselves while looking at the beautiful trees. More places are becoming pet-friendly and kid-friendly these days, but Kanata no Sato is somewhere you can truly stay comfortably with both—definitely a place we’ll return to. Next time I’m looking forward to having BBQ while gazing at the beautiful night sky. Thank you for such a quiet, gentle, healing time.

Recently, I had been staying mostly at foreign-owned Resort Hotels, but I was truly impressed by the outstanding balance and high standards in every aspect—service, cuisine, Room quality, and the Onsen. It reminded me of the exceptional level of Japanese hospitality.

This was our second visit, and it was wonderful again. The cuisine, the room, the bath (the in-room hot spring), and everyone’s hospitality—everything was simply outstanding. It’s an inn that truly makes you glad you came back. Above all, the proprietress’s warm hospitality left a lasting impression. We were welcomed so kindly once again, and her attentiveness during meals and at departure made us feel at ease. It made us want to see her again, so we are hoping to visit next spring. We look forward to seeing you then.

Because our previous stay was so enjoyable, we returned. The Room, service, and hot spring Facility were all very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were prepared in a way that really highlighted the quality of the ingredients. The sweets in the Room and the herbal tea before bed were soothing for both body and mind. It’s been a long time since I’ve slept so deeply and felt this well-rested. Maybe it’s just my imagination, but my skin even seems to be in better condition. We would love to stay again.

We stayed at the COTTAGE for a Multiple Night Stay as a couple. We live in Fukuoka and were looking for an Accommodation nearby where we could relax, so we chose this place because it was easy and stress-free to get to and from. The price is not cheap, but it was a truly special, out-of-the-ordinary experience even within Fukuoka, and we had an extremely satisfying stay. The food was delicious, with a bit of an outdoor feel as well, and since there were no other people around, we could enjoy ourselves without worrying about anyone else. The staff were also very kind. We would definitely like to stay again for an anniversary or other special occasion.

After staying here with my husband in July, we came back again so soon! We had a relaxing 2-night, 3-day stay. We stayed in a different Room this time, which felt fresh and new. The living room, Japanese-style room, and bedroom were all truly spacious and spotless—everything was so well maintained. Of course there are some fallen leaves from the trees, but the location is so wonderful that it didn’t bother us at all. My husband had apparently ordered champagne in advance, and it was perfectly chilled and waiting in our Room—we were thrilled!!! There were plenty of towels provided, and they kindly accommodated extra requests as well, so we enjoyed the sauna, pool, jacuzzi, and Onsen over and over again. We’re always grateful for the butler’s thoughtful care—this is truly the No.1 Accommodation for hospitality! We’ll definitely be back!

Despite concerns about the earthquake, I traveled from Tokyo to Takachiho. I had been planning for a long time to visit Takachiho again, so I decided to go—and I was relieved that there was hardly any impact and I could stay with peace of mind. I was satisfied with everything: the Facility, the meals—everything. First of all, I was surprised that the Room had not only indoor and outdoor baths but also a sauna. It was my first time in my life staying in a Room with a sauna. The meals were explained in a picture-story style, and each dish had its own story and attention to detail, making them both delicious and fun to enjoy. Personally, I especially recommend the salt-baked kappo chicken and the panna cotta. On top of that, there was plenty of playful creativity with a school-festival vibe, and above all it was blissful time surrounded by the staff’s smiles. Nearby are Takachiho Shrine, night kagura performances, and Takachiho Gorge where you can also take a boat ride—an extremely convenient location. Thank you very much. If I have the chance, I’d love to return again.

This was my first stay, and just as everyone says, it was a truly wonderful Accommodation. The food was delicious, the Onsen water was silky-smooth, the staff were great, everything in the fridge was free, and the price was reasonable. The view was beautiful and very relaxing. Also, since I love drinks, I was thrilled by the wide selection of rice shochu... Thank you very much! I’ll definitely visit again.
