It was a very convenient location for taking the early-morning direct bus to Kagoshima Airport. The Room was clean and comfortable. There was an AEON very close by, which was very convenient.

Thank you very much for a truly comfortable stay. The Room was even more spacious than we had imagined, and our grandchildren were thrilled from the moment they walked in, exclaiming, “So big! So clean!” Just before our stay, one of our party fell ill, and we ended up canceling once and then making a new Reservation at our grandchildren’s strong request. Despite the inconvenience, you handled everything so kindly, and we are truly grateful. I also misunderstood the evening bath cleaning time; when I finally came out after soaking at length, you asked with a wry smile, “Are you finished…?”—and once again your gentle response really helped us. With everything that happened, it honestly became quite a challenging trip, but my daughter—who had not been feeling well—seemed to feel better than when she arrived. She was delighted and said it felt like a therapeutic hot-spring retreat. Thank you for that. Above all, Kawakami Village itself—nestled between the Yoshino River and Mount Omine—was an incredibly soothing place. It was a wonderful trip that relaxed both body and mind. Thank you very much.

We stayed here on the last day of our trip to Hokkaido! The bath in the Hotel Room was very clean, and we were able to relax comfortably! Melon was included with breakfast, and that alone made us excited! Even after checkout, they kindly stored our luggage, which was a huge help!

I experienced “true richness.” I stayed for one night and two days as a reward to myself, hoping to enjoy local cuisine cooked over an irori hearth. The “authentic food” I was served far exceeded my expectations. It was made using only truly excellent local ingredients, and in particular, the pairing of the duck broth after the duck shabu-shabu with 100% buckwheat soba was sublime—a perfect match of the real and the real. I felt this kind of deliciousness simply can’t be found in the city, and it was only the second time in my life that food has genuinely moved me. That’s how overwhelming it was. By the way, it wasn’t just about the meals—the hydrogen Onsen also felt incredibly refreshing, as if my cells were being revitalized. The Onsen can be enjoyed as a private reservation.

A space where you can feel art and culture—a stay that feels like purchasing an experience. The hospitality is just right, and there were no complaints as an accommodation. Above all, the meals were delicious and truly impressive. Among the accommodations I've stayed at recently, the food here left the strongest impression. Onomichi has many local specialties, but I highly recommend trying both dinner and breakfast while you're here.

It was very close to the entrance of Akame 48 Waterfalls, making it extremely convenient for walking and exploring. The building is old, but the furniture and interior are refined and do not feel rustic. The food was also delicious. We went by car, and there is a steep slope in front of the Accommodation, so it’s best to drive carefully there. Some parts of the road on the way are narrow, but they are well maintained, so as long as you watch out for oncoming cars, there should be no problem.

Everything was excellent, including the surrounding environment. The staff and the proprietress were all impeccable in their hospitality. Thank you very much. We will visit again in November to see the autumn leaves.

During our mother-and-daughter trip to Kyoto to celebrate my mother’s 80th birthday, we had the pleasure of staying here. Although I have visited Kyoto many times, I wasn’t very familiar with this area and felt a bit uneasy at first. However, walking along the Shirakawa River lined with graceful willow trees was wonderfully soothing and brought me a deep sense of calm. The Accommodation blends quietly into the neighborhood, and from the lobby to the Room, everything is unified in a simple modern Japanese style—clean, uncluttered, and extremely comfortable. Perhaps each Room is decorated to match its name; in our Room called “Hotarubi,” there were firefly motifs on the wall, which felt beautifully tasteful. We stayed in a Superior Twin Room, and it was very spacious. The toilet area, bath/vanity area, and living space were all separated by partitions, creating a relaxed and luxurious layout—one of my favorite points. What my mother loved most was the generously sized hinoki cypress bath. She found the scent so calming that she enjoyed it two or three times. We were also deeply touched by your thoughtful 80th birthday message and bouquet. To everyone at Accommodation Akekure who welcomed us with warm hospitality from check-in to check-out: thank you for such a wonderful stay. Hearing my usually reserved mother say “I want to stay here again” made me truly happy as well. We would love to visit again!

The Tajima beef sukiyaki and breakfast were both quite delicious. The room and bath were clean, and I think it would be difficult to find anything unpleasant. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that the dining room door was a bit hard to close... It's a wonderful property, so I would love to visit many times. Thank you very much.

Following last year’s stay, I loved the large public bath, the meals, and the Room here, so I came back again. The Onsen temperature is gentle on sunburned skin and feels incredibly relaxing—I ended up soaking four times this trip! And the dinner portions—everything was delicious, with a very generous serving per person, so I was completely satisfied. The Room has been renovated and is beautifully clean. I also personally love the view from the Room. The seaside in front of the Hotel is a great place for a morning walk.

We stayed for one night to enjoy a luxurious trip with friends! The villa is right by the sea, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning...!!! We opted for no meals and cooked with ingredients we bought at a supermarket. The kitchen was well-equipped with plenty of cooking utensils, making it fun to prepare our meals! Although the villa is located in an area that’s a bit difficult to access by car, the owner kindly picked us up from the meeting point, so it wasn’t an issue at all! The owner was incredibly kind, and both the villa and our stay were wonderful. Thank you so much!

In 2025, I visited Okinawa four times and stayed at different condo vacation rentals each time. However, my stay at Doka Doka was the best, so I decided to return here for my year-end visit. During this second stay, I noticed various thoughtful touches from the perspective of guests that I hadn't realized during my first visit. It made me feel that this place is the perfect choice for future stays. While many "Instagrammable Rooms" are introduced all over Okinawa, I've often felt they lack consideration for actual guest needs when staying there. This includes kitchen facilities, cooking utensils, bathrooms, or even how doors open and close—small details but noticeable nonetheless. It seems like those managing such facilities may not have actually stayed in their own rooms themselves. On the other hand, it feels like whoever designed this place considered everything from a personal user’s perspective because nothing is lacking here. (The bathroom doesn't have a reheating function for baths; hence my rating of 4 stars in that regard—but it's not something I'd ask to be changed as it’s perfectly fine as is.) It may not be highly "Instagrammable," but it offers more than enough comfort if your goal is to live like a local during your stay. The beautiful Yachimun pottery provided adds an extra touch of joy when preparing meals in the kitchen. The café breakfast experience was also wonderful—staff were very kind and accommodating with generous portions served. The scenery was stunning while the gentle music and atmosphere inside uplifted our morning mood beautifully. I’m already looking forward to visiting again next time! Thank you very much!

Three women stayed here. The hostess was very friendly, offered helpful advice on various things, and took great care of us. The catered breakfast bento was also delicious. Because it faces a main road, we were worried about noise, but it wasn’t too bothersome. However, it may not be suitable for those seeking complete quiet at the Accommodation. The interior and Facilities were well maintained, and we had a comfortable stay.

commentary: The staff were all very kind. Seeing how well everyone gets along made us happy too. The Onsen was clean, and the amenities were well stocked, which was a great help.

Kumamoto Prefecture is buzzing with the revitalization of the semiconductor industry, and as a result, Hotel rates across the city had become unbelievably high. In that situation, I stayed at this Hotel at a reasonable price. Since it has only recently been renovated, the Room was clean and designed to be easy to use. The breakfast buffet was also kept at a fair price, and they offered Kumamoto specialties, which I enjoyed. The lobby feels like a bookstore where you can read newer books for free, making the stay even more comfortable.

It’s a short walk from the monorail station, but it’s a straight route so it was easy to find. The room was clean, and the front desk staff were very courteous. The breakfast buffet was also delicious. They even had Blue Seal ice cream at the buffet, so although I don’t usually eat ice cream, I tried it—and it was excellent. The welcome drink hibiscus tea was also very tasty. There’s a supermarket nearby that stays open late, which was convenient. Thank you very much.

Apart from the difficulty with the door code, which took four attempts to open despite entering the correct number, my stay was very satisfying. The welcome drinks were plentiful, and the breakfast, including homemade tofu and bread, was delicious. The luggage storage before check-in was smooth and helpful. I would like to use this service again when I visit Hakata.

The room was quiet and allowed for a relaxing stay despite being close to Hachijo Exit. Ice and water dispensers were also available, which was very convenient.
