The Room was very clean, and being able to watch Shinkansen trains from the high floor was a hit even with our grown-up kids. The bathroom with a separate washing area, unlike a typical unit bath, let us soak and relax without worrying about getting the surroundings wet, which was truly soothing. Everything at breakfast was delicious, and we fully enjoyed Nagoya specialties. Since the Hotel is directly connected to Nagoya Station, it’s perfect for leaving your luggage and going sightseeing—we’d like to come by Shinkansen next time.

This was my first stay at Ishinoya. The Room was in a detached-style layout, and when moving to the large public bath and other areas, I could forget everyday life while watching the koi—truly a wonderful time. Thank you very much. Thank you as well to all the staff for your kindness. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, and I was very satisfied. Each dish was carefully prepared, with perfect presentation and flavor—five stars. Thank you, Chef. I would love to visit again.

My birthday is July 17, so for decades I’ve made it a tradition to go see the Gion Festival around my birthday. I’m used to the festival, but… I had always stayed at a well-known large Hotel with parking. However, it wasn’t very convenient for getting around, and this year I was traveling with my elderly sister, so I decided to try The Gate Hotel Kyoto in the float district. And wow—my old ideas about Hotels were completely overturned. The layout and flow inside the building were excellent, and even though check-in and check-out were pleasantly efficient, the staff were wonderful. The lounge and restaurant were also very comfortable. What I appreciated most was the late-night snack: an ochazuke (bubuzuke) buffet. We were exhausted from walking around the festival and couldn’t really eat much, but being able to have a light meal at the Hotel was such a relief. The ochazuke was easy to eat, and the broth was delicious. I’ve stayed at many Hotels, but this truly let me experience how things are done today. It’s an Accommodation that makes me want to stay there even when it’s not Gion Festival season. Thank you again—I’ll be back.

It was wonderful. The Ryokan always had a pleasant incense fragrance throughout the building, which helped us relax. We even bought some as souvenirs. The staff member who explained everything during our meal was very courteous, and it truly warmed our hearts. We also used the private open-air bath, and it was great to be able to spend a relaxing time with our family. This is a Ryokan we would love to stay at again. Thank you very much.

I stayed one night in Kyoto, a city I love, to go hydrangea viewing. I arrived before check-in, but I was able to relax in the lounge overlooking the beautiful garden with a cola and cake. Soon after, I was shown to my room, which I truly appreciated. As I don’t have much stamina, I chose this Hotel so I could rest well while still enjoying the feeling of being on a trip in Kyoto. I made a Reservation for a room with views of Kōmyō-ji Temple’s main gate and the Hotel garden from the window. Including the magic hour at dusk and dawn as well as the nighttime illumination, the scenery was even more wonderful than expected, and it was truly relaxing. It was also adorable to see snails and umbrellas drawn in the Hotel’s stone garden outside the window—so perfect for Japan’s rainy season. In my room there were Gion Tsujiri kabusecha green tea, black tea, and coffee; plus complimentary juice and beer in the refrigerator. Enjoying a slow Hotel stay while watching the beautiful view and changing sky was simply amazing. In particular, there was a chocolate-scented coffee capsule called “Chocolatino” for the espresso machine—I woke up before dawn and felt so happy having my morning coffee while watching sunrise magic hour. The beer also had stylish yuzu and fruity aromas, and drinking it in a bathrobe after bathing tasted exceptionally good. From 15:00 to 18:00, welcome drinks were available in the lounge. There were champagne and white wine—both favorites of mine—and I enjoyed them at leisure. As I’m a light eater traveling solo (and had just eaten cake), pairing drinks with some potatoes was more than enough for me; however, it also felt like you could enjoy a proper dinner there as well—meat dishes, desserts, and more—which seemed great because you can adjust freely depending on your mood. I love baths as well, so I was happy that there were stylish, high-quality bath salts and amenities provided in generous amounts. Twice—at night and again the next morning—I soaked properly in a bathtub where I could fully stretch out and relax. Breakfast overlooking the garden was wonderful too; they kindly arranged seating where I could feel comfortable on my own. After breakfast each day, between attending morning services and taking walks around the garden grounds (and more), it felt incredibly fulfilling. The gardens within this Hotel also had seasonal flowers such as hydrangeas and bellflowers (kikyo). Including nighttime illumination visits too—I took three walks total: evening, night, then morning—and being able to enjoy Kyoto’s seasonal atmosphere without even leaving made me extremely satisfied. It was an amazing trip to Kyoto!

This was my first stay. The Residence Twin room was very spacious, and the view was great—I could see the Skytree and the Shin-Yokohama area. The bathroom was also large and very comfortable, with a chair provided, which I really appreciated. It would have been nice to have a scale and some plastic wrap. I had a wonderful and relaxing three-night stay and was able to celebrate my birthday nicely. I was also very happy to receive a gift. Breakfast was delicious as well.\nNext time, I’d like to stay with my children too.

The staff at the Japanese restaurant and the breakfast venue were very kind and welcoming. I was traveling with an elderly person, and I truly appreciated how they pulled out chairs for us and spoke gently. This was my second stay, and I have used the restaurant several times. I would definitely like to stay again.

I stayed for four days starting July 13. -Front Desk Staff- First of all, my sincere thanks to everyone. Due to personal circumstances, I consulted in advance about arriving earlier than planned. You kindly offered thoughtful suggestions, and at check-in the information had been accurately shared and handled perfectly. You also saw me off pleasantly at check-out. -Location / Surroundings- An excellent location in the heart of the city—Teramachi-dori, Shinkyogoku Shopping Street, Rokkaku-dori, and Sanjo-dori. Very convenient for dining and all kinds of shopping. -Hotel- Although it is a very busy area with many visitors (including international travelers), once you step into the Hotel everything changes—there is a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The toilet and bath are completely separate. The bath is spacious and comfortable. The room is fully equipped with everything needed, including amenities. *Some amenities are available at the front desk In the North Building, the convenience store on the 1st floor is directly connected to the elevator. You can access it using your room key. -Sightseeing / Shopping- Shijo-Kawaramachi is about a 15-minute walk away. Thanks to the great location, various public transportation options are also close by for sightseeing and shopping. On the last day I checked out around 8:00 a.m. I headed to Kyoto Station from the Kawaramachi-dori bus stop about a 5-minute walk away; there were fewer passengers than expected, and I arrived in about 15 minutes. -Finally- I was disappointed that I couldn’t try your well-reviewed breakfast because I don’t eat much. It was during the Gion Festival (Yoiyama) period before the main parade—hot every day… no, very hot! (lol) But staying at such a wonderful Hotel made my time in Kyoto truly excellent. I look forward to visiting again next time. Thank you very much.

This is my go-to Accommodation for my annual trips to Sapporo! On the first night, I stayed in a Corner Twin for the first time. The windows were large, and I had a pleasant view with the Hokkaido Government Office building right in front of me—perfect for relaxing with drinks in the Room. On the second night, since my child was Child Sharing Existing Bedding, we chose a Superior Double. The window was smaller and it felt even more compact, but it was still very functional. There was also an ice machine on the top floor, and perhaps as part of Superior perks there were bath salts provided as well, which was a nice touch. At check-in, the male staff member at reception had no expression and his service was disappointing—neither good nor bad overall. However, the male staff member at check-out was very pleasant, so I’ll call it even (lol). And what I especially recommend is breakfast. There is a wide variety of dishes with many local items, and everything—Japanese or Western—is high quality. All of the staff are friendly and it feels great. The salted bread that wasn’t available last year was delicious, so I hope you keep offering it! The only disappointment was that the breakfast crowding status shown on the in-room TV didn’t match reality. It showed “not busy,” so we went then—but there were actually 30 groups waiting. After getting my young child excited and taking them there, having to bring them back to the Room and manage their bad mood was frustrating... Still, the large public bath is very clean; we received a full set of children’s amenities for Child Sharing Existing Bedding at the front desk; there are Sekkisei amenities; and needless to say, the location is excellent... Overall, this trip once again reminded me that in Sapporo it’s Solaria all the way for me. I’m looking forward to planning another trip so we can come again next year.

It was a hot stay in Nara, but the property is close to Nara Station, with convenience stores and shopping facilities nearby, so we didn’t have to walk around much in the heat. The Room was clean, and it was great that the toilet and bathroom were separate. It was also helpful that we could store our luggage after check-out. We would like to stay again. Thank you for your hospitality.

We stayed as a group of four—my elderly parents, my sibling, and me—who usually live apart. My parents were especially pleased with the heartfelt hospitality. The meals were excellent; I particularly enjoyed the dessert. We will visit again.

Thank you for taking care of us for one night and two days. Before we arrived at the Hotel, my son developed symptoms that seemed like heatstroke. I asked—fully expecting it might not be possible—whether we could enter the Room 1.5 hours early so he could rest, and that we would pay an additional fee if needed. A female staff member kindly agreed and even lent us an ice pillow. After sleeping for about two hours, his symptoms improved completely, and we were able to continue our trip as planned. Breakfast was also very delicious. We also appreciated the free ice pops after the bath. It was a shame that the sauna closed one hour earlier than the bath. Thank you again for everything. We would like to stay here again.

It was just before the summer holiday season when we visited, and since there were fewer guests, they kindly upgraded our Room, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a Room with an open-air bath, so we could soak in the Onsen many times and felt truly refreshed. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and we were very satisfied. The spacious garden was in hydrangea and rose season, and we enjoyed walking through the beautiful grounds. It was an early summer vacation for us—thank you very much!

We stayed as a family of three. It was a villa-style Room, and our child was thrilled and had a great time. The meals were delicious, and above all, we were very satisfied with the excellent service from the staff. We used the in-room bath as well as the baths on the 1st and 2nd floors of the separate building. The separate building also has a sauna, so we enjoyed both. As noted in the guidelines, it’s an open space, so those who are concerned may want to be mindful—but we really enjoyed it!

The front desk staff were very courteous. Close to the station and convenient. There was a notice in the Room with staff-selected recommended restaurants, which was helpful. We also used the Japanese restaurant for lunch; it was calm and quiet, and reasonably priced. If I had to mention one drawback, I wish the breakfast buffet had a bit more variety.

The dinner restaurant was delicious, and it was great that complimentary non-alcoholic drinks were available. It would have been nice to have water in the Room.

A long-awaited family trip. The location was perfect, and it was great to enjoy a quick drink with my wife at the bar. It’s within walking distance of both Ginza and Shimbashi, nothing to complain about.

Thanks to your call in advance letting us know there would be road closures due to a festival, we were able to arrive before the roads were closed. As a result, we enjoyed the festival and the fireworks, making our stay truly memorable. The staff’s attentiveness was outstanding, and the parking valet service in particular exceeded our expectations by far. There are not many places where great service alone makes you want to stay again, but we would definitely love to return. We also recommended it to our family after we got home. Just one note: since I don’t often sleep on futons, I felt the mattress was thin and the pillow was low.

I’ve stayed at many Accommodations, and this is easily among the very best. It’s not inexpensive, but considering the dining, service, and Facilities, it felt like outstanding value—worth far more than the price. The moment you step inside, you’re captivated by a breathtaking view of the Jintsu River framed by stately yet modern architecture. The art-filled spaces also have a playful sense of humor that made us smile. We stayed in the Modern Moon room, which had beautifully curated interiors. We spent an elegant time enjoying the fragrant hinoki cypress bath overlooking the Jintsu River and relaxing on the terrace. The bedding was exceptional for a great night’s sleep, and in addition to two well-appointed large public baths, we loved that there was a private family bath available at a surprisingly reasonable rate. Dinner was French cuisine featuring abundant Toyama ingredients, with flawless presentation and service. I was amazed by the skillful cooking that elevated even more distinctive ingredients into something refined. The generous full-course meal paired perfectly with their outstanding Toyama house wines (red and white). The next morning’s Japanese breakfast was just as impressive—deeply flavorful and wonderfully soothing after the previous night’s course. Relaxing at the Accommodation is wonderful on its own, but there are also plenty of activities—an art tour, children’s events, strolls through the garden and along the Jintsu River—so one night is nowhere near enough. Being able to use Tesla charging Facilities also helped us travel without worry. The hospitality from all staff members was exceptional. We were so moved that we immediately made another Reservation for six months later. We truly can’t wait to return.

I was traveling solo and chose the Ladies’ Healing Plan. It came with a Panasonic facial device, a foot massager, and drinks, which really lifted my mood. The washroom had IGNIS amenities, and the beauty cream in the room was labeled as a complimentary gift. The pajamas were stylish too! I’d checked the breakfast venue in Reviews beforehand, so I was looking forward to it. It’s irresistible for fans of retro architecture. They also let me tour the chapel at the top of the stairs. I was happy that many of the dishes used locally sourced ingredients. It was so relaxing!
