The staff's response was wonderful! I stayed with a plan without dinner, but I thought it wouldn't be possible since I asked suddenly, yet they prepared it for me, and I am truly grateful. Thank you very much! It was also great that we could choose our own amenities, which made it a very enjoyable experience!

I visited in early spring and early summer before, but this was my first time staying during midsummer. Despite expecting large crowds, the Hotel staff's prompt responses and thoughtful care allowed me to enjoy a relaxing stay without any issues. The beach was relatively crowded, but I could leisurely enjoy snorkeling and swimming in the morning or evening. The restaurant service and meal quality were consistently excellent, offering a wide variety of Japanese-Western fusion dishes that changed daily. The marine services were also well-equipped, allowing me to enjoy various sports within the Hotel premises. I would definitely like to visit again!

The lodge was clean, and we were able to stay comfortably even with our dog. There were only two of us and one dog, so we didn’t use it, but there were futons laid out in the loft as well. However, those futons had some unexplained stains—maybe from a leak? I’m not sure if they can’t be removed, but it wasn’t pleasant. This time we stayed with a small dog, but I think we would use the lodge more often if guests could stay with dogs of any size. If it were possible to stay not only with one dog but also with multiple dogs, we would definitely like to stay again.

I have visited Kurokawa Onsen more than 10 times, and among them, the meals were top-class for both dinner and breakfast—I was very satisfied. The Room was a spacious Japanese-Western style, and the semi-open-air bath in the Room was extremely relaxing, allowing me to unwind at a leisurely pace. Originally, I planned to stay on Friday, but due to an approaching typhoon I had to request a last-minute change the day before to stay on Saturday instead. Thank you very much for accommodating my request so kindly. The only issue was the stool provided in the in-room bath area for washing—it was too small for adults, and I felt like it might tip over when sitting on it. I understand there may be space constraints in the washing area, but I think there is room for improvement. I would definitely like to stay again if I have another opportunity.

The meals were delicious, and we truly enjoyed each dish. They kindly accommodated our request to start breakfast earlier. It was a great help. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again.

I booked this the day before with breakfast and dinner included because the Accommodation I originally wanted was fully booked, and I wanted to watch the fireworks festival from Sakurajima. It was my first time on Sakurajima, and there’s an abandoned Hotel nearby—when I first drove past, I mistakenly passed by this place too (laugh). Check-in is normally from 3:00 PM, but since I arrived early, I called and was kindly told I could check in from 2:30 PM. After a short walk around the area, I checked in at 2:30 PM. I was also able to reserve the private bath for 3:30 PM, so I relaxed in my Room for a while. About the private bath: if you unlock the seaside door, it connects to the men’s open-air bath area. Also, it shares a wall with the men’s changing area with about a 10 cm gap at the top, so please be cautious about privacy. The Onsen water is extremely hot; there are instructions advising you to pour water over yourself with a bucket to get used to it before entering. Passing beyond both the men’s and women’s baths and heading outside down a short slope, there is also a mixed-gender bath located about 1 meter from the sea. Meals are not served in-room; breakfast and dinner are served at a dining venue past the front desk, and both were very delicious. The Room is a Japanese-style tatami room with futon bedding. The in-room bath is an old-style light-blue unit tub of about 1.2 m square. The toilet feels like a Western-style seat added onto an original squat toilet setup, so it’s quite small. The balcony offers stunning views of Kinko Bay, but due to volcanic ash and being close to the sea, railings and other metal parts are quite rusty. Still, considering how thoughtful the staff were as well as the price overall, I think it’s a very good Hotel. By noon that day when I went to scout Sakurajima Lava Nagisa Park and Yunohira Observatory Deck, many spots were already being held with sheets and camera tripods—so after dinner we drove to the Sakurajima Ferry parking lot, parked there, walked to the pier area instead, sat comfortably at our own pace while watching fireworks—and we were very satisfied.

I booked the golf package this time. The Room only had a basic shower, but I was able to use the Onsen at the adjacent Ryokan, and the open-air bath with an ocean view was amazing. The Room was also clean, which was great. Breakfast was included, and I enjoyed playing golf at Kumihama Country Club, about a 5-minute drive away, before coming back. I’d like to visit again next year!

The Room was more than spacious enough for one person. Overall, it felt even more “Showa-era” than I expected, which really enhanced the feeling of being in the countryside. The Onsen water felt very strong and concentrated. It’s a simple sulfur spring, but this is the first time I’ve experienced such a complex sensation. It seems popular with day visitors, and even though the water gets stirred up, it still had a powerful impact. Despite being surrounded by beautiful nature, there were no stink bugs in the Room—so they must be taking solid preventive measures. A few things I noticed: Is the open-air bath actually a cold-water bath rather than a standard bathing bath? The Wi‑Fi signal is weak and sometimes I couldn’t connect to the internet. While sleeping, there were fairly loud crackling/popping noises throughout the Room that kept waking me up repeatedly. That said, thanks to the long trip and the Onsen, I was able to sleep deeply even in short stretches.

It’s about a 20-minute drive to Takachiho Gorge, but we chose Kijiya because it’s an onsen Accommodation. We had reserved the first boat ride at Takachiho Gorge the next morning, so we stayed with dinner only. Dinner was delicious, with salt-grilled yamame trout, sashimi, tempura, and more. As expected, the onsen was wonderful. We checked out early in the morning, but it’s a great Accommodation where you can truly relax.

I was able to spend a relaxing, healing time surrounded by the nature of the Kozagawa River. The space was wonderful and warmly inviting, with furniture made from Kishu timber. The Onsen was very soothing, and the Room was clean and comfortable. Best of all, it wasn’t crowded, so I could enjoy a quiet, unhurried stay. It was a lovely Accommodation that I would like to visit again.

All the Accommodations in Ueki Onsen have silky-smooth water and a gentle temperature, so I can soak slowly—it's my favorite. This time I stayed at Matsunoyu on an upgraded Plan; dinner was so plentiful I couldn’t finish it, but breakfast had a lot of tsukudani-style items and felt quite salty, which was a bit disappointing.

In the Golden Week peak season, we searched for a pension and ended up here. Our family always looks forward to dinner at a pension, and we chose Millefeuille because we wanted to enjoy a relaxed evening meal. The dining area had tables arranged in five sections, so each group could sit together. The meal was a thoughtfully prepared set course. The turnip mousse appetizer was elegant and delicious—our foodie daughter said it looked beautiful as well, and I completely agreed. The tuna sashimi also felt carefully prepared—was that an appetizer too? The course flowed nicely: two appetizers, soup, rice, main (meat), dessert, and coffee. Both the appetizers and the main dish felt especially elaborate, making for a well-balanced course. We were full and very satisfied. If there were a sprinkle of parsley on top of the corn soup, it might look even more vibrant. We ordered a bottle of wine; it was an easy-to-drink white that didn’t overpower the food, and it was priced as if there was almost no profit—really reflecting the owner’s kind hospitality. There is also a grand piano in the dining room, and we heard they used to hold small piano or string concerts. After dinner (with permission from other guests), I was allowed to play a little. Having a grand piano there creates such a wonderful atmosphere. Breakfast was also colorful on one plate, and we were full from the morning. For the bath, we were told to enter as our group in the women’s bath and lock it while using it; we did so. It is not a private family bath—it is separated by gender. It is not an Onsen, so there is no Hot Spring Tax. The Room was clean with thoughtful touches throughout, so nothing about its age bothered us at all. The TV wasn’t turned on at first; right after check-in I asked the owner about it and they switched it on for us. It was good that we tried turning it on early. We had an extremely satisfying stay that exceeded expectations for the price. Perhaps one owner focuses on conversation while another handles cooking—we were able to relax at our own pace. The chats were very enjoyable as well; we truly felt their hospitality. Thank you very much for taking care of us during our stay.

All guest rooms are on the second floor and accessible by stairs only, which was explained at check-in. At the top of the stairs, it was convenient to pick up what I needed, such as toothbrushes, tea, coffee, and disposable cups. There was also a microwave on the other side, which was a big help for heating up food we bought during our drive. All of the staff were smiling and approachable, which made me feel at ease.

It felt like a unit in an older apartment building, but the Room was spacious and comfortable, making it an easy place to stay. The amenities were well stocked, and the location is great—there’s a station and Amu Plaza nearby, so you can enjoy shopping and dining as well. There is also on-site parking at the Hotel, which was very helpful. The level of service was just right and pleasant, making this Hotel perfect for relaxing and enjoying some quiet personal time—I’d love to stay here again.

The breakfast was generous and very delicious.

This was my second stay, and both check-in and check-out were smooth. The Room was compact, but I could see the Togane Line from the window and had a comfortable stay. The breakfast croissants were delicious. I would like to stay again.

The room was very clean, and the front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. However, there is no elevator, so you have to take the stairs to your room, which made carrying luggage difficult.

They were extremely attentive in accommodating an irregular check-in process and even late-night entry. Not only was the staff’s hospitality consistently courteous, but the thoughtful selection of in-Room amenities and Facilities also left a great impression. Both the Room and the entire building were impeccably cleaned and truly spotless. The property is filled with charming Showa-era retro touches throughout, and the bath was very comfortable. They even invited me to a summer event, so I went ahead and made another repeat Reservation today. I travel all over the whole country, and for those who click with it, this Accommodation is an absolute must-recommend!
