This was our third stay. We always choose the “Hacchan” room, and we are completely satisfied every time! This year, we came in spring for a soba lunch and stayed again in autumn. The room, the food, and the hospitality are always wonderful—we will definitely be returning. The new dog run is also spacious, and our dog loved it. We’re already looking forward to our next stay.

There is no large public bath, but every Room has its own Onsen, and it was easy to adjust the temperature. I was able to relax and enjoy the Onsen at my leisure in the open-air bath. Overall, it was a stay that made me want to visit again. For dinner, we ordered sukiyaki. The beef was very well-marbled yet extremely easy to eat—light and melt-in-your-mouth—and the portion size was just right to finish comfortably. Breakfast was a bit light and on the smaller side, but since dinner is meat-focused, I felt it was well balanced. The only disappointing point was that perhaps because it is for men only, there were no skincare items like toner or lotion in the Room. When traveling, it’s inconvenient to carry these so I usually don’t bring them; at high-end Ryokan these days they are typically provided everywhere, so I was surprised they weren’t available. Even women’s versions would be fine—I think you should provide them. Those who don’t need them simply won’t use them. Other amenities such as heated eye masks and facial packs were very well stocked.

We had seen a Review saying the pool temperature was low, and since it was a chilly day we were worried, but it was comfortably warm. The first-floor flooring is also not slippery, so I think it’s dog-friendly. If possible, it would have been even better if the second-floor flooring were made of similarly non-slip materials. The quality of the free-flowing Onsen water was great as well, and it was a wonderful Accommodation that makes not only dogs but also people want to come back.

Two adults and our child (5 years old) stayed for one night, and it was our first glamping experience. We were all thrilled the moment we saw the breathtaking view from the Room. With so many activities provided, plus relaxing moments like reading in the Room and making coffee, we enjoyed every minute from arrival to check-out without missing a thing. For dinner, they arranged a fun cooking experience with our attendant and our little “chef,” which made everything taste even better than usual. All of the attendants kindly accommodated last-minute requests and interacted naturally with our child, so we were able to stay very comfortably. Thank you so much for such a truly memorable time. (Our child did catch their foot on furniture corners and near the entrance door threshold, but perhaps that’s part of an authentic camping experience—not everything being overly padded or protected. The Room was wonderful, letting us feel the changing expressions of the mountains up close.)

Although the weather was poor throughout due to the typhoon, it actually made for an almost private stay. My daughter had seen it in a magazine and was looking forward to it, and it was just as relaxing as we had hoped. The hot stone spa, baths, and meals were all exactly as described in the magazine and brochures—nothing to complain about—but above all, the staff’s thoughtfulness was outstanding, and even with just one night we were able to relax both physically and mentally. I was coming down with a slight cold, so I truly appreciated the front desk lady’s subtle kindness and concern. The next day brought clear skies for the first time in a while, and breakfast while enjoying the wonderful ocean view was amazing. Thank you also for accommodating our request during the ride back to the station by stopping at a nearby popular bakery.

Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day! There were signs guiding us to the villa along the way, so we arrived without getting lost. The moment we entered the gate, we got excited—it was the most wonderful villa we have ever stayed in. Being able to check in face-to-face gave us peace of mind, and you assisted us very kindly and thoroughly. The living room was spacious, and since each bedroom has its own bathroom and toilet, everyone in our family was able to relax comfortably. The kitchen was also well equipped—even with a scale, measuring spoons, and baking paper—so we were able to bake scones and bread for breakfast. Everything was neatly organized and easy to find. The washing machine, coffee maker, and other appliances were easy to use as well, so we had no trouble figuring anything out. It was a truly lovely villa where we could feel the owner’s thoughtful attention everywhere. We only stayed one night this time, so next time we would love to stay longer.

It was an absolutely wonderful villa. When I come to Miyakojima again, I definitely want to stay here! The service was consistently thoughtful—exactly the kind that anticipates every need. Everything you think “It would be nice if they had this” is already there. The staff were also very courteous. The amenities and hair dryer were high quality. The shampoo and hand soap were THANN. There was also baby body wash (a good additive-free one from Mama & Baby). They offer a surprisingly large selection of free rental items, including things you don’t usually find at a typical Hotel, such as a baby chair and baby playpen (some items are available for a fee). Everything inside the Room was clean with no issues. All drinks in the refrigerator are free-flow. They will restock endlessly until 7:00 PM. The sunset view from the rooftop was simply stunning. The quiet Sawada Beach stretching out in front of you, together with the sunset, left a strong impression. There isn’t an on-site restaurant, but you can arrange a private chef or have a BBQ on the terrace. We bought meat from “Sachiya Butcher Shop,” which was recommended by the villa staff, and had a BBQ. If you order in advance, ingredients can also be delivered to your Room (limited to certain shops). The only thing that scared me was seeing a thin long insect poking its head out from between the gaps of the mesh table on the terrace. Because it’s a hollow mesh-style table, I couldn’t tell whether it just happened to be there or if something had taken up residence, so we couldn’t use it afterward. Since lush nature is right in front of the villa—and that’s part of what makes it great—I understand it’s difficult to completely eliminate insects… Also, the walking path from in front of the villa to Sawada Beach is so overgrown that plants brush against your feet if you’re wearing sandals. I’d be happy if it could be trimmed and maintained a bit more. Overall, we were truly very satisfied!! It isn’t cheap, but it’s quiet and you can relax without worrying about others—perfect for enjoying a resort atmosphere at your own pace. It’s ideal for spending an important anniversary with someone special, and it’s a villa I’d gladly recommend to friends as well. Thank you very much.

While Accommodations with Onsen and breakfast and dinner included are wonderful, we were hoping for a stay that felt more like living locally. We stayed as a couple, and the simple layout—kitchen, dining area, bedroom, toilet, and shower—was impressive and made for a very comfortable stay. The owner’s mural was gentle and blended beautifully with the interior, creating a lovely atmosphere. We were told that in winter all rooms have underfloor heating so you can stay comfortable even in short sleeves, so we’d love to visit again in another season. There’s an OGINO supermarket nearby as well as a butcher shop; we enjoyed basashi and relaxed with Yamanashi wine (the kitchen knife wasn’t very sharp, but honestly it felt safer that way). Partway through our stay, the owner stopped by to check on us and shared stories about life at Lake Yamanaka—more than anything else, that became our favorite memory and made us feel at ease. It was a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much.

This was my first stay. All staff members welcomed me with a smile. The entire Accommodation was spotless, and the meals and service were excellent—everything was very satisfying. I’m tired from work every day, but this Accommodation was soothing, with greenery visible from the window, the gentle murmur of the Sai River, and the sounds of insects. Thank you very much.

The bath, the room, the sauna, the food, and all of the staff were outstanding. The goats were incredibly cute and so relaxing! My daughter was totally absorbed in feeding them and said on the way home that she definitely wants to stay again! We plan to visit again if we have the chance!

I stayed for two nights on my first trip to Hakodate. The view was amazing, and everything—from the service to the Room—was excellent. The Hotel also offers loaner bicycles, and there are plenty of nearby options such as car rentals and convenience stores. It’s also within walking distance of the station. There’s a morning market just a short walk away, so I had breakfast there. When I arrived in heavy rain, they immediately lent me a towel, which really warmed my heart. Even though I went in and out many times a day, they always greeted me with a smile, saying “Have a nice day” and “Welcome back.” There was no waiting for the elevator, which made everything comfortable. The Room was spotless as well. This is a Hotel I would definitely want to stay at again on my next trip. Thank you very much!

This was my second stay at this Hotel, and once again everything was perfect. The hospitality is outstanding, and every member of the staff is truly impeccable. The interior design is tasteful, the meals are delicious, and I highly recommend this Hotel. Having lived abroad for many years and stayed at many top-class Hotels around the world, Kinugawa Kanaya Hotel is one of my favorites.

This was our first stay with my husband, a friend, and two dogs. The Room was spacious, and although it rained both nights, we were able to relax and take it easy. The dog run was covered with wood chips, so our dogs’ paws didn’t get muddy. Having a free-flowing hot spring bath in each villa was very appealing, and my Onsen-loving husband took many baths and was very satisfied. This time we chose the No Meals Included plan, but we bought cheese and bread from the shops introduced in the in-room guide for this Accommodation, and everything was delicious. We’ve been talking about staying for three nights next time. We’re looking forward to staying again. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

Although it was our first stay, we could truly feel how you have carefully carried on your 50-year history. We were completely satisfied with the Facility, amenities, meals, and hospitality. All of the staff were very courteous and also friendly and attentive. We also enjoyed listening to the Yamaha audio system, and since we didn’t expect to be able to play a grand piano, my wife was especially delighted. We will definitely stay again.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. We had stayed at another resort hotel until the day before, but we were truly impressed by the attentive service here—wonderful hospitality from helping with our luggage to taking photos. When we opened the window, the Irabu Bridge and Miyako Blue stretched out right in front of us, and the time wrapped in the morning sun was pure bliss. The room, styled in white and beige tones, and the spacious powder room were both stylish and spotless. There wasn’t a single bug, so we could relax in complete comfort. The pleasant scent in the lobby also left a strong impression, and every time we returned to the hotel we felt refreshed. The in-room amenities were equally impressive—high-quality hair dryers and kettles from well-known brands, as well as an excellent selection of complimentary drinks—showing thoughtful attention to detail throughout. Overall it was a highly satisfying stay, but a couple of small points stood out: the shampoo products didn’t suit my hair or skin, and I would have loved to see a bit more Miyakojima-style dishes or Japanese options at breakfast (even about one-third more). All in all, we were extremely satisfied and would definitely love to return—and recommend it to others.

I visited Shiobara Onsen with my 84-year-old mother from Taiwan on a family trip. The inn is quiet and cozy, with only 11 rooms. Thanks to the staff’s warm hospitality, my mother felt at ease throughout our stay. Dinner was a kaiseki meal made with seasonal ingredients, and this time we chose the rare soft-shelled turtle course. I was surprised when they even served soft-shelled turtle blood, but it became a memorable food experience unique to traveling. The hot springs are 100% free-flowing from the source. We stayed in the “Izumo” room, a spacious guest room overlooking the Hoki River, with both an open-air bath and an indoor bath. The two private reservable baths were also large and beautiful, and what impressed me most was that my mother could enjoy the hot springs without worrying about others. The scenery, cuisine, hot springs, and hospitality were all wonderful—an unforgettable set of memories with my mother.

I love Okinawa and visit more than once a year with my child. I’ve stayed at most hotels there, and this is the kind of hotel that feels like a sensory breakthrough from the moment you step inside. Among hotels in Okinawa in the same class, it may be the best in both service and facilities. The airport transfers to and from Naha Airport were both in an Alphard. On the way back, our female driver (a foreign national) provided an especially comfortable ride. Arriving at the lobby after dozing off on the way, we were greeted by a breathtaking view—enjoying a welcome drink while looking out over the beautiful sea. From our room as well, we had an uninterrupted view of blue skies and an emerald-green ocean. The private pool is also an infinity pool, so it felt wonderful no matter how many times we went in. There were floats for both adults and children. For dinner, we chose sushi kaiseki on the first night and French on the second. Wanting to relax in our room with our child, we asked to switch the sushi kaiseki to room service; they set it up side by side facing the window so we could enjoy it while watching the sunset—it was absolutely delicious. The presentation showed great craftsmanship, with exceptional freshness and flavor! For French dinner, we were shown to a private room as well, where we could unwind comfortably on a sofa while dining. It’s said to be ranked No. 1 on Ikkyu as a “gourmet destination,” and I completely agree—beautiful French cuisine that truly highlights each ingredient’s natural taste. Even at luxury hotels there are often many “kids’ menu” options, but here they wonderfully adapted it into a full-course children’s meal; my child usually leaves food behind but finished everything. I don’t drink alcohol, but the lounge offered Okinawan spirits and beer along with bite-sized savory snacks and sweets that paired well—everything tasted great. They were also very kind to my child throughout our stay. This is definitely a hotel I want to return to!

We visited to celebrate my father’s 80th birthday. It was a long drive from Yokohama to Nagano, but this was a wonderful Accommodation that truly made us glad we came. The in-room open-air bath was a little hot and needed some adjustment, but it was clean, spacious, and free of insects. The shampoo and conditioner also left our hair smooth and silky. (Some Ryokan at this level still leave your hair feeling rough.) All the staff who welcomed us were smiling, and during dinner the head chef served the main dish right at our table. Everything was delicious—made with local ingredients and carefully prepared with great attention to detail. On our way out, they even opened the souvenir shop in the main building earlier for us, so I was happy to be able to buy the souvenirs I wanted. My parents were very pleased as well, so we would love to visit again while they are still healthy.

Everything was always clean, and I had a very comfortable stay! All of the staff provided wonderful hospitality. This time, I chose the “Tajima Beef Colorful Kaiseki” course! They carefully explained each dish, which made it even more enjoyable. I was able to fully enjoy Kinosaki at night.

Although it was my first stay, I was instantly captivated by the beauty of the property and its exceptional cleanliness. The location from our room was perfect, and the in-room hot spring—always ready to use without adding heat or water—was truly soothing. This time I stayed while hosting guests from the United States, and I was deeply impressed by the staff’s hospitality. Even though we arrived late for dinner, they welcomed us warmly without a hint of displeasure. What surprised me even more was that they quickly translated and printed an English menu on the spot. My companion was equally moved. They also kindly accommodated our train schedule by moving breakfast 15 minutes earlier, showing thoughtful flexibility that truly considered our situation. This is a wonderful ryotei that genuinely makes you feel glad you stayed—one you’ll want to brag about. Next time, I will definitely bring my family!
