We chose this property for our road trip because of the parking situation and the spacious Room. There is a large multi-story parking garage at Urban Plaza about a 3-minute walk away, so we didn’t have to worry about not being able to park. The Room and the bed were both spacious and comfortable. With a car, it was reasonably priced and conveniently located for sightseeing, so we were very satisfied.

We stay here every year, and the food is simply delicious. If you stay for two nights, the dinner buffet menu changes slightly. It’s fun to see that something from yesterday is gone, or that something new has been added. It’s also convenient that Suganodai Bus Center, Komagane Farms, and “Boke” apple pie are all within walking distance.

This is a quiet, relaxing Accommodation overlooking the Tsugaru Strait. The meals were especially delicious, with each dish carefully prepared. The tableware also reflected the value and tradition of a Ryokan. With heartfelt service, it was a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much.

First of all, the staff’s polite and attentive service is wonderful. They even provided a brand-new sponge, and although there was no vacuum cleaner, they lent me a Quickle Wiper. In any case, it’s a very kind Hotel. It was excellent. Thank you very much.

Although I often stay in Kirishima Onsen, this was my first time in Hitoyoshi Onsen, so I chose a relatively new Accommodation. It turned out to be the perfect choice, and on the way home my companion and I kept saying, “We’re glad we picked this place.” First of all, the Facility itself is new and very well cleaned, so check-in felt comfortable and pleasant. Next, the baths: both the indoor bath and open-air bath are stone-built with deep tubs; the water was pleasantly hot and gentle on the skin—truly a “beauty bath” quality—and I was very satisfied. Meals were served for both breakfast and dinner using local ingredients in thoughtful detail; everything was delicious in just the right portions. When visiting Kumamoto I had been hoping for basashi (horse sashimi), but it wasn’t included in this Plan; it was available to order separately, so I enjoyed it that way. What helped us most was assistance with making Reservations for lunch the next day and for activity facilities, as well as answering detailed questions. They kindly accommodated our requests—such as “I want to eat seasonal salt-grilled ayu” and “I’d like to try pottery on a wheel”—all with a smile. Thank you also for seeing us off even in light rain without opening an umbrella. The salt-grilled ayu at the restaurant you recommended was excellent, and we each made pottery pieces (a plate, a bowl, and a beer glass). After firing them in the kiln, they will be glazed in our requested colors that same day and then shipped to our home once finished—we’re looking forward to receiving them. I would love to visit again; however, there is one disappointing point: there is only one Room type available for stays of two or more people, so I would appreciate more options. This was my first time staying here. Having an Onsen allowed me to relax deeply. I was happy that I could use the bath all the way until morning. Since it was raining, I had dinner without going outside. The breakfast starting at 6:30 a.m. was also very helpful because I had an early departure. The staff and dining hall team were very kind, and it made my stay pleasant. Thank you very much.

Both breakfast and dinner offer a wide selection, including meat, fish, tempura, noodles, salads—everything you could want. The food is delicious. There are many kinds of desserts, and you can also take them back to your Room to enjoy. The herbal tea was excellent. The staff’s friendly greetings were wonderful. It’s a Hotel that’s hard to book, so if you get the chance, definitely give it a try.

The Room and baths were spacious, and the amenities were well stocked, making our stay very comfortable. We were able to relax at our leisure with the private open-air bath and the indoor Sakakibara Onsen. Since there was no Wi-Fi in the Room, I rated the Facility 4 stars, but it turned out to be a good opportunity to put our phones away and unwind together as a family. Dinner was plentiful—featuring a boat platter of sea bream, spiny lobster, abalone, and amberjack, as well as wagyu beef grilled on a ceramic plate—and everything was delicious. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this Accommodation!

I appreciated having wine as a welcome drink. The breakfast was delicious, too. The Room was comfortable as well. No wonder it gets fully booked. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

The front desk staff were very courteous, and both dinner and breakfast were excellent and delicious. It was disappointing that the Onsen is only available in the large public bath. The location was wonderful, and we were able to see Hashima Island. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The Hotel was clean and the staff were very helpful. I stayed in a twin room, which was very tidy, and I appreciated that the toilet and bathroom were separate. Even though it was a weekend, the rate with breakfast included was lower than other hotels, and I enjoyed a Japanese set breakfast that was beautifully presented and just the right portion size. Overall, it was a very satisfying Hotel, and I would like to stay again.

Facing the Kanmon Straits, it was soothing to watch the ships passing through all the time. The meals were carefully selected and delicious. It was also great to be able to see the straits from the bath; however, the bath was quite crowded with many local residents, which surprised me a little. As a request, I think it would be relaxing if you could use some aroma fragrance or incense in the corridor where the Room is located.

While preserving the traditional machiya atmosphere overall, the Accommodation has been thoughtfully renovated with a focus on key areas such as the bathroom and kitchen—spacious, spotless, and highly practical. It was a comfortable space with an excellent sense of balance. Unlike a typical Hotel stay, it offered an experience that blends into the neighborhood, and I felt as if I were spending my very first day after moving in. There are many lighting fixtures, and being able to fine-tune them to suit different situations was very convenient. The complimentary local drinks—such as roasted green tea and cider—were a delightful touch that added to the travel mood. Everything from the teapot and cups to the tray and even the hair dryer had a refined design that was pleasing to look at. It was a wonderful Room combining quality with functionality. Under normal circumstances this would unquestionably be a 5-star stay, but this time I am rating it 3 stars. The guests upstairs ran around for minutes at night and again the next morning like shuttle runs, even falling loudly at times. It was noise at a level that would feel excessive even in an ordinary Hotel—and all the more so in a machiya-style place like Komado. Even if our floors were reversed and I were staying upstairs, it would still have carried through. It was extremely difficult to endure. I wanted to raise this through staff, but neither the main phone line nor the emergency contact number could be reached around 7:30 p.m. I believe this Accommodation’s core appeal is its high-quality feel that blends seamlessly into everyday life in town, so it was deeply disappointing that such noise is fundamentally incompatible with that experience. That said, if you are not paired with guests like we had this time, it will surely be an outstanding stay without complaint. Being able to look out onto the courtyard was also fantastic; it is illuminated at night and offers scenery different from daytime—I never got tired of it!

The ocean views from the Room, the large public bath, and the dining area were outstanding—scenery we could have watched forever. There were very few guests, not only foreigners but also Japanese; only about five groups were dining at the same time, and the open-air bath in the morning felt completely private, so time passed at a wonderfully relaxed pace. If I had to ask for one thing: Rooms without a bath require using the large public bath, so I would have appreciated a carry basket for taking items with me. Also, my husband mentioned that having shaving soap in the Room would make morning grooming easier. The meals were delicious as well—we were extremely satisfied!

Excellent value for money! Close to the station, and far cleaner than you’d ever expect from the exterior. Maybe it’s been renovated? Everything is well maintained, and above all, the front desk staff are truly pleasant and welcoming. It’s also convenient for getting to both Himi and Toyama, and there aren’t many people around (which is also great!). I’d definitely like to stay here again on my next trip to Toyama. Highly recommended!

Return Visit Stayed for two nights a few years ago and was amazed by how incredible the Moor Onsen was. They even had our past stay history on record, which really showed their professionalism. At the time, we were a bit bothered by some odors in the Room and Onsen, so we “cheated” for a while with a newer Accommodation nearby (laugh). This time, we made a Reservation for a newly renovated Room. Bottom line: it was excellent! I’m not really into saunas, but I enjoyed it because you can adjust the temperature in various ways and even listen to music. There were plenty of towels, and bathrobes were provided as well. The only downside was that the open-air bath was slightly too hot. The food was delicious, and the service was flawless. If they renovate more guest rooms, we will definitely stay again.

I visited with three friends. The Room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The food was also delicious, making it a wonderful memory. It was my first time visiting Wakasa, and I would love to come again.

We stayed here as a reward trip after retirement. After checking the website and guests’ YouTube videos, our expectations were at the maximum—and they were fully met. We were lucky with the weather and could enjoy the Okinawa-blue sea from the terrace, so clear that we could see all the way to the bottom. At night, we lay on the terrace bed and gazed up at a sky full of stars. We visit Okinawa’s main island several times every year and have stayed at a wide range of places, from casual Hotels to luxury Hotels, but this Accommodation was our top recommendation for a true escape from everyday life! It was a little disappointing that a building previously used for weddings remains and blocks part of the sunset view, but other than that we were completely satisfied. We would love to stay again.
