This was my first stay at NIPPONIA in Kosuge Village—something I’d been hoping to do ever since I learned it was there, after visiting the village several times on touring trips. The space, renovated from a traditional house over 150 years old, is meticulously cared for in every detail and uniquely comfortable. From the entrance gate to the front area—and of course the Room itself—everything was wonderful, and I immediately felt at ease. I relaxed so much that I collapsed into bed early and missed the evening bonfire, which is my only regret (laugh). The thickly smoked beams, thoughtfully designed indirect lighting, a dining table suitable for working, a beautifully maintained garden with spring water running through it, chairs to enjoy the view and a solo hammock, a semi-open-air bath, and a large fluffy bed—everything was perfect. I was also impressed that instead of the cheap alcohol often found with “all-inclusive” plans, they offered genuinely recommended local alcoholic drinks and soft drinks along with small snacks. The staff’s kindness—waiting outside just for us in the heat—meant a lot. Walking around Kosuge was also fun. Everything was soothing. Just one thing: dinner. It was a luxurious course featuring river fish or pork in almost every dish, but there were rich sauces used throughout, which left my mouth and stomach feeling a bit tired. The fact that every dish felt like a main might be great for energetic younger guests; however, if there had been something lighter—like a refreshing salad using delicious local vegetables—to provide some contrast “in between,” each dish might have stood out even more. Overall it was an excellent experience that truly put me at ease. I got real rest here. Thank you very much.

This is a wonderful Accommodation that blends beautifully into Kakunodate’s townscape. The staff were very kind and helped us in many situations throughout our stay. Thanks to them, we had a memorable and enjoyable trip. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The dog run is very spacious and pleasant. As soon as we arrived, my dog happily ran around, and I felt glad to have chosen this accommodation. It's an environment where dogs can relax freely, which naturally puts owners at ease as well. The traditional Japanese house has a calm atmosphere, allowing for a very peaceful stay. We enjoyed experiences like making miso and koji, as well as roasting rice crackers over the irori hearth—much more fun than expected! Roasting rice crackers over the irori was surprisingly challenging; adjusting the heat while slowly roasting them was a fresh experience. However, the rice crackers I made myself were far more delicious than I imagined. For dinner, we had an irori kaiseki meal prepared by the staff while we relaxed by watching the fire—a leisurely dining experience without any rush that allowed us to savor every bite. At night, we spent time by the bonfire without doing much of anything in particular. Just watching my dog relax nearby filled me with contentment. This is an accommodation that naturally makes you think, "I want to come back again."

Affordable, yet surprisingly spotless! When I heard it was a container house, I didn’t expect much, but the interior was very clean and exceptionally well maintained. The amenities were well stocked, and there’s a convenience store right in front, making it extremely convenient. Air conditioning is also provided, so the stay was comfortable. I’d like to stay again.

This is my second stay, and I truly appreciate your thoughtful hospitality as always. I look forward to staying here again.

The location was great—there are plenty of bars nearby, but the area around the Hotel was calm, and it was convenient to have a convenience store close by. The freshly baked bread, made several times a day at set times, was delicious. Since I had a Multiple Night Stay, I was able to enjoy it several times. There is also a large public bath, so I could relax and take my time in the bath. I would like to stay again. Thank you.

We arrived a little early, but relaxed in the lobby while enjoying shaved ice. That kind thoughtfulness made us very happy. This is an old but truly lovely Hotel, quietly nestled in the mountains of Atami. The soft, high-quality Onsen is outstanding. The building does show its age, and there is also an area where the owner lives, but that is more than made up for by the wonderful Onsen and meals. Fresh sashimi. Delicious fresh salmon roe. Steak and sukiyaki, and a great variety of desserts, fruit, and ice cream—everything was very satisfying. The amenities are plentiful as well—both in the Room and at the large public bath: DHC face & hand soap, gel lotion, cleansing oil, body & hand milk, milky gel, and hair milk, plus KOSE shampoo, conditioner, and body soap— an excellent selection. There is also a pool that can be used year-round, which is great for children. It really felt like what you would expect from Livemax. Considering how travel costs have risen in recent years, this resort offers excellent value for money. Many of the staff are from overseas, but they are well trained so we felt at ease and very comfortable throughout our stay. Whenever we want good hot springs water or delicious sashimi again, we will come back to stay here. I would highly recommend this very comfortable Hotel to many people. We were able to stay at a great rate with IKYU benefits! The hotel was clean, and it felt nice that the housekeeping staff greeted us when we passed in the hallway. My companion was happy there was a convenience store in the building. It seems many guests stay for longer periods. I think they streamline what they can to keep prices low. Having a coin laundry was also very helpful.

We stayed here for our family trip at the end of summer vacation. It was a special Room—the only one of its kind in the Hotel. It had the space of two Rooms plus a living area, and an exceptionally large bathroom—about the size of another Room—with a spacious bathtub where you can fully stretch out, as well as a separate shower room. The bubble-bath function had been removed, but features such as the marble flooring gave it a very luxurious feel. There were also private stairs, a ramp, and an exclusive corridor leading to this special Room, with outstanding attention to privacy. From the Room, we enjoyed breathtaking views over all of Lake Megami and the surrounding mountains. There were three large TVs, which delighted our children, and we could use the air conditioning as well, so we stayed comfortable throughout our visit. The public bath included an open-air bath and even two saunas, and the lockers were clean. From the open-air bath we could look out over Lake Megami and the mountains while relaxing in the Onsen. We enjoyed cooling off in the cold bath, watching clouds drift by, and taking our time to fully appreciate Tateshina Onsen. As it was peak season, both dinner and breakfast were buffet only; while there weren’t many items overall, each dish was truly delicious. The coffee did not seem to be freshly drip-brewed from a machine like those found at some buffets, so having a coffee machine would be nice. Next time we are very much looking forward to trying kaiseki cuisine at the basement-level restaurant as well. As an IKYU.com Diamond member benefit I requested late check-out; unfortunately it wasn’t possible due to peak season demand. Still, this is such a wonderful Hotel that we wanted to stay even longer—the Room was beautiful, spacious, and impressive in every way. Thank you also for the Diamond member gifts (a bottle of wine and souvenirs from Nagano). Since in Parking Lot No. 1 the wheelchair-priority space is shared with EV charging spaces, I think it would be better to separate them so that enough spaces can be secured to meet nighttime EV charging demand while keeping accessible parking available at all times. We arrived at 11:00 and completed check-in procedures first; the front desk staff were excellent. We requested early check-in but it wasn’t possible due to peak season; however when keys became available before 3:00 p.m., they were handed out in order of completion of procedures—so arriving early was worthwhile for us after all. We will be staying in this same Room again in the future as well; thank you in advance from our whole family for your continued hospitality. Thank you very much to all staff members.”

Although it seemed nearly fully booked, we had a very comfortable stay! The indoor dog run was air-conditioned, so we didn’t need to take walks in the heat. The Onsen also featured an authentic open-air bath that warmed us through to the core. Above all, the staff’s hospitality was exceptional—they welcomed us on arrival and saw us off at departure, making it a truly wonderful memory.

I used this for a trip to Shizuoka. It had everything I needed for an overnight stay, and I was very satisfied. Drinks were available freely, breakfast was delicious, the Room was comfortable, and anything I needed could be borrowed or purchased.

This is my third stay here. Once a year when I visit Kobe, I stay with my grandchild. My 15-year-old grandchild really loves it and always says, “I want to stay at the same Hotel again this year!” Drinks and shampoo are available in front of the front desk, which also seems to be one of the highlights. Breakfast offers a great variety and is very delicious. My grandchild ate a lot from the morning. The staff’s service with warm smiles (especially the male staff) was wonderful. The front desk staff were also very pleasant, and I was able to check in and check out comfortably. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and there was also an air purifier, so I could sleep peacefully and feel refreshed. The Room was clean and well maintained, so we had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

The bath, the Room, and the meals were all excellent. The bath has a great view and is spacious, so you can relax and take your time. The catfish at the breakfast buffet was especially delicious, so I ended up eating a lot. All of the staff were very kind. (Thank you so much for sending my lost item back to me!) I will definitely stay here again!

This was our Accommodation on the last day of our trip to Hokkaido. There was also a bus from Sapporo, so access was convenient. We made a Reservation for an Executive Suite. From check-in we used a dedicated counter, and there was also an exclusive lounge, which made the stay feel special. The bathroom was spacious and relaxing, and we were very satisfied. However, dinner was a buffet in a large hall, but it was so crowded that we couldn’t take our time, which was disappointing.

The view from the Room was outstanding. A breathtaking panorama of lush green rice fields spread out beyond the window. Moonlight enjoyed from the soothing open-air bath, and the pairing of Yamagata ingredients with wine was exceptional. From amuse-bouche to dessert, everything was deeply satisfying. After breakfast, we took a walk around the rice paddies and breathed in deeply as the breeze swept through the countryside. It was truly healing for both body and mind. Next time, I’d love to come back to see the golden fields.

A family member became unwell, and we arrived at the Hotel before 3:00 PM. When we explained the situation, they quickly prepared a Room that was not yet ready and arranged for us to check in. Thanks to that, we were able to rest properly. Thank you very much. The Hotel itself is new, very beautiful, and clean. If I had to mention one issue, the bathroom seems to be separated, but when you step out of the bath area there is a toilet right there, and with clear glass it is completely visible from both sides. That part was difficult. The Bikan Historical Quarter is very close by, so you can take your time sightseeing. It was an excellent Hotel, and I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

Just a 1-minute walk from the station—literally right in front of it. I stayed in a single, but the Room was spacious and airy, and I enjoyed the train view from the 8th floor. You can also go up to the rooftop, where I could cool off in the evening and enjoy the scenery while watching the morning glow. Breakfast was satisfying, with delicious rice balls and side dishes. They also had soft-serve ice cream. I’ll stay here again on my next trip to Hagi!

The walk from the station is safe, and the location is convenient. It was bright and clean, which I appreciated. There is a large public bath where you can relax and unwind. Even solo female travelers can feel at ease. If the timing works out, you can also use the massage chair. I made a Reservation at short notice the day before, but it was cheaper than other sites with a discount, and payment was on-site, so I felt comfortable using it.

The breakfast was very delicious.
