Ikaho Onsen Akenoya

My spouse and I stayed here together. We booked No Meals Included, but the Room came with a sauna and an Onsen, and the price felt almost too low for the Facility—we honestly felt bad about it.It may not be for those who prefer luxury Hotels or Ryokan costing over 30,000 yen per night, but as other Reviews mention, there are many small thoughtful touches. The service quality covers what matters without being excessive, and the overall calm atmosphere made our stay very satisfying.We hope to return again within this year.

Our family of four stayed at Ukifune for three nights. Overall, we were extremely satisfied and had a wonderful summer vacation.1) Room & amenities The Room was beautifully renovated and very clean. The amenities were incredibly plentiful—there were even face masks, which my wife loved. Samue loungewear in various sizes is provided, so you don’t need pajamas. There’s also a free ice cream freezer. They don’t have Häagen-Dazs, but there was a great selection of store-bought ice creams. In addition, every day we received an amazing amount of items such as alcohol, water, cup noodles, and sweets in the refrigerator—after three nights we ended up with an unbelievable amount to take home, and we could hardly make a dent in the ice cream. I’ve never stayed at an Accommodation with service like this; it was genuinely shocking.2) Hospitality & service The staff were from Nepal, and everyone provided kind and courteous service that made our stay comfortable and pleasant. They warmed up prepared foods we had bought outside—and even gave us dessert along with it. We also appreciated many thoughtful gestures throughout our stay.3) Onsen & baths The in-room bath was very clean and comfortable. The private baths require Reservations via tablet; by paying an additional 1,000 yen you can use them as many times as you like. Unfortunately when I went the water temperature was low and there was no way to reheat it, so it felt cold. It also rained that day, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the private bath experience.4) Facility & equipment The in-room sauna is excellent—clean and perfect for sauna lovers who could stay in for hours. Since the weather wasn’t great on many days during our stay, we spent one day relaxing together in the Room reading books; it was very restful and enjoyable.5) Meals Because there is only one dinner menu option, we chose dinner only on the first night. Dinner was “Joshu Soheki Bunmei Kaika Nabe,” a sukiyaki-style hot pot; both the flavor and portion size were satisfying. Breakfast is free: there are many small breads lined up so you can choose whatever you like in any quantity. The selection included melon bread, Danish pastries, hearty breads, etc., all delicious—along with simple items like ham and boiled eggs. At checkout on the last day they kindly told us we could take some bread to go! But since we already had too many other souvenirs (food and drinks), we declined. The level of service is amazing considering breakfast is free.6) Overall satisfaction We would absolutely love to come again someday. Thank you for a fun summer vacation!
