Shimobe Onsen Yumoto Hotel

Male in his 50s, stayed alone. I chose this accommodation because it was highly rated by experienced Onsen enthusiasts, and it truly lived up to its reputation. The fresh hot spring water seeping from the natural rock formations in the bathhouse offers an exceptional quality. While the source water is lukewarm, alternating between hot and lukewarm baths allows for a relaxing and extended soak. The building shows its age but is well-maintained and within acceptable standards—it didn’t bother me at all. However, it might not be suitable for women who are overly particular about cleanliness without prior exposure to such places. It’s rare to find such a luxurious Onsen accommodation at such an affordable price. I hope this place continues for years to come!

The Onsen is wonderful. The staff at the accommodation are friendly and welcoming. Although the building is old, it is well-cleaned and comfortable to stay in. If I had to mention one drawback, the futon mattress was thin, which caused some back pain. However, soaking in the Onsen helped alleviate it.
