Hotel La Montagne Furuhata

This is by no means a new Hotel. The interior still has a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere, and I really loved that.Even though it’s an older building, it’s well maintained and clean throughout, with a calming feel. Unlike modern Hotels, there’s a special charm in enjoying the experience of staying at a classic, traditional Hotel.The breakfast was also excellent. It isn’t flashy, but you can tell it’s carefully prepared, and it made for a wonderful start to the day.I also heard this Hotel has been used as a filming location for TV dramas and movies. There are photos related to past shoots inside, and I found myself thinking, “Now I see why they chose this place.”It may not be the best fit for those looking for something new and stylish.But for anyone who wants to relax in a well-kept Accommodation while enjoying that nostalgic Showa vibe, I think it’s a truly charming Hotel.When I come back to Hakuba, this is an Accommodation I’d happily stay at again.

I stayed here this January, and this time again I stayed with two medium-sized dogs. As before, the Facility and services are all basic, but that was more than enough for us, so we had a very comfortable stay. We were also lucky with the weather and enjoyed walking around the Hotel area, taking our dogs out while admiring the spectacular views of the beautiful Hakuba mountain range. We would love to visit again next season.
