Natural Hot Spring Awasetsu no Yu Dormy Inn Aomori

Despite being in the city center, the top floor features an open-air natural Onsen bath with panoramic views over Mutsu Bay. After staying here, I can’t go back to other Business Hotels. The Room was spotless, the TV was large, and having a door between the entrance area and the bedroom made it easy to relax and sleep well. Breakfast was packed with Aomori specialties. I was very satisfied.

Even considering it was a holiday period, I felt it was too expensive for a Business Hotel—maybe it’s not really a Business Hotel anymore. That said, everything is new and spotless! And above all, the baths are unbelievably good: spacious, great lighting and background music, an open-air bath, real Onsen, plus a sauna and cold plunge. It’s wide and clean, and if you open a small window you can even see a lovely seaside view. The day I stayed there must have coincided with some event—I could see fireworks from the bath, which was incredible. So amazing that I couldn’t stop whispering “amazing” to myself.The Room is small, but it feels like they’ve pursued maximum comfort with only the essentials. The bed is wide and comfortable, the sheets feel great, and overall it’s very practical. The TV also lets you watch U-NEXT or YouTube using your own account, which is convenient.If you get an ocean-side Room with a good view as well, I think even at this price (over 20,000 yen on average per night for No Meals Included) it would be a perfect 100/100.The complimentary services are excellent (the massage chair was free too), and the relaxation area on the top floor where the baths are located is spacious with an amazing view—plus ice cream and manga—so that was fantastic as well.Both check-in and check-out are automated. There’s almost no interaction with staff, but they do greet you and explain how to check in. One kind staff member told me that drinks in the dining area were available too, which was really comforting.One subtle but truly great point: there are washing machines in the bath area, so you can start laundry for free (detergent included) before taking your bath. Not having to move to another location is genuinely convenient. The dryer was paid (100 yen per 10 minutes).Amenities in the bath area include makeup remover lotion/cleanser(?), toner/skin lotion? Wait: makeup remover + toner + emulsion provided. In the Room there was only hand wash (apparently usable for face washing too). (Shampoo/conditioner/body wash are in the shower room.)There are restaurants nearby as well as convenience stores close by. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but since it’s along a main road it didn’t feel isolated at all.I’d like to stay again (though if prices go any higher it might be tough!).
