    I’d like a bright, cheerful atmosphere.

    The Hotel, the staff, and the Room all had a bright atmosphere, which made me feel comfortable and at ease. However, the elevator wait was long, and perhaps because there were many male guests, the smell of the futon was unpleasant (the sheets and covers were of course clean, but it seemed like sweat odor had lingered in the bedding). The breakfast smoothie and chanko hot pot were very delicious.

    The service is thoughtfully designed and excellent.

    The Room itself felt a bit small, but there were thoughtful touches throughout. The large public bath was more spacious than expected, and the jet bath in particular was excellent. I was slightly concerned about the bathing etiquette of some international guests, though...

    A prime location for enjoying the fireworks festival!

    I had to go to Tokyo for an errand, and when I checked to see if there were any events that day, it turned out to be the famous Sumida River Fireworks Festival. Since I’d always wanted to see it at least once, I made a Reservation at this Hotel in Ryogoku. Without knowing anything beforehand, I arrived to find that the street in front of the Hotel was part of a one-way detour route toward Kuramae Bridge, a great spot for viewing the fireworks—so by simply following the flow of people, I ended up being able to watch them. It felt like a lucky break. The Hotel even handed out uchiwa fans to guests heading to the festival, which was a thoughtful touch. As for the Facility itself, there’s a convenience store on the second floor, which is very handy. The large public bath in the basement also looked appealing and I really wanted to try it, but I was so exhausted that I used the bath in my Room instead—so unfortunately I didn’t get to use it this time. An excellent Hotel for the price. I’d definitely like to stay again.

    I’d like a Room with a Sumida River view!

    There were overwhelmingly many foreign guests. Everything was smartphone-based payment, which was confusing at first, but the Hotel staff assisted me politely. The view of the Sumida River and Tokyo Skytree was wonderful. Breakfast included local specialty dishes, and I was very satisfied. The only disappointment was that a lot of dust had accumulated behind the TV.

    Everything was great.

    With hotel rates so high everywhere right now, there’s no other place that offers such great value for money. I previously stayed at the Bay Tower in Yokohama, and similarly, everything here was excellent—meals, baths, and all the other amenities.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    Conveniently located near the station, the large public bath was especially spacious and relaxing. After checking in, I refreshed with a bath and then enjoyed a leisurely walk to Tokyo Skytree for sightseeing in the evening. There was no crowding at breakfast or in the elevators, making for a very satisfying stay in Ryogoku. Thank you very much.

    The Room was clean, ...

    The Room was clean, and we were able to relax. Having a convenience store nearby was very helpful. The location was convenient and easy to access. It made for an enjoyable trip.

    Packed with features for international guests. Also, are taxis always unavailable?

    I asked the front desk to call a taxi, but they told me, “It’s busy, so it won’t come,” and then walked away. I had to figure it out myself, and I wanted to ask about possible alternatives, but it didn’t feel like an atmosphere where I could.

    This is my second stay, and I like it because it’s reasonably priced, the breakfast buffet is delicious, and the location is convenient. I’d like to stay here again.

    The hallway is cold!

    Due to the structure of the tower hotel, the hallways are open and can feel very cold and chilly. Guests heading to the large public bath are usually dressed in yukata, so it must feel quite cold. Additionally, the Onsen bath is set at a lukewarm temperature, which may not warm you up sufficiently during winter.

    I was very satisfied.

    I stayed at the Ryogoku APA Hotel for the first time. It was close to the station, and there were plenty of restaurants nearby, so finding a place to eat was no problem. Since it was during the Ryogoku New Year Sumo Tournament period, I also got to see sumo wrestlers and fully enjoyed my time in Ryogoku. The room was clean, spacious for an APA hotel, and the under-bed storage was convenient. If I had to mention one downside... it would be that during my multiple night stay, the menu remained almost the same every day. While everything was delicious with a wide variety of options, a bit more variation would make it more enjoyable for guests staying multiple nights. I would definitely like to stay here again if I have another opportunity!

    Stayed for the Grand...

    Stayed for the Grand Sumo January Tournament. Repeat stay. Solo traveler. It seems I was upgraded from a single to a double room. Conveniently located near Ryogoku Station and the Kokugikan, with a convenience store on the second floor. Appreciated the large public bath, though the women's bath was crowded until late at night. The limited number of elevators requires some extra time planning.

    Full of resort vibes

    The resort-like atmosphere provided a sense of escape from reality. Being next to the Ryogoku Kokugikan and coinciding with the sumo tournament season, there was a lively, festive vibe! Located right in front of the station, the location is excellent, and I would love to stay here again!

    The number of elevators compared to the number of guests is insufficient! In the morning, I had to wait 15 minutes in front of the elevator.

    I had originally booked a single room, but I was upgraded to a twin room for free, allowing me to enjoy a more spacious stay. On a rainy day, I was very grateful that they lent me towels to wipe my suitcase while waiting to check in. However, I was surprised to find hair stuck on the bath towel in the room and also inside the drawer where the hairdryer was stored. Additionally, after checking out, I followed the instructions in the room information and prepared a QR code in advance for luggage storage at the front desk. However, without confirming whether it had been prepared or not, they asked me to register by scanning it again at the front desk. When I mentioned that I had already prepared it in my room and asked if registration needed to be done again there, they simply said "Then please scan it here." It would have been better if they confirmed beforehand and provided proper guidance. These are minor issues but some more attentiveness would have been appreciated; hence this rating.

    Stayed for the 24-hour TV viewing. The location was convenient and made traveling easy.

    I was delighted with...

    I was delighted with the room upgrade and the wonderful view. However, it seems the rooms are very busy and in high demand, as the linens still had a noticeable sweat odor, which was disappointing. The location and proximity to convenience stores were very convenient.

    Overall, it is good.

    The Room was too small. (I should have chosen a more expensive and spacious Room.) The view was great as it was on a high floor. The public bath itself was spacious and nice, but the changing area felt slightly cramped in comparison. The 1-second check-in process is excellent. Having a 24-hour convenience store inside the Hotel is very convenient. The meals, location, and newness of the Facility are good.

    The floor of the Room is hot.

    This was my second stay, but during summer, the entire floor where the rooms are located feels hot. Is it because the air conditioning doesn't work well in the open space? I would appreciate more elevators as there is quite a long wait to use them. Please place deodorizer in an easily noticeable spot; near the clothing rack would be ideal. There are too many books related to APA Hotel in the room unnecessarily. Regarding room wear, I think a two-piece set would be better than a yukata. One thing that stood out positively was how kind and polite the staff were during check-in—thank you for that! The atmosphere of the room felt too much like home due to all those books; I would prefer a space that feels more like an escape from everyday life.

    There was a long queue at check-in due to inbound guests. The system seemed congested, causing delays, and it took time to get into the room. Other than that, everything was satisfactory.

    Check-out Procedure

    When checking out today, it was raining, and I had injured my foot, so I asked the front desk to call a taxi for me. The staff member at the front desk seemed to make a call but did not speak on the phone and then told me that taxis were unavailable due to the rain and that the station was within walking distance. Since it didn’t seem like they had actually contacted a taxi company, I asked them again to try calling. At the same time, I started searching for a taxi using an app. Perhaps noticing this, the staff member did nothing further. This alone was frustrating enough, but as I left the accommodation and passed by this staff member at the entrance's automatic doors, they walked past me in silence without saying "Thank you" or "Have a nice day." Considering they hadn’t even called a taxi for me in such circumstances, some acknowledgment would have been appropriate. Such behavior is unprofessional. Having stayed at various accommodations before, if this were experienced by foreign guests unfamiliar with Japan’s hospitality standards, it might discourage them from returning to Japan altogether. If continuing in this line of work as hotel staff is intended moving forward, such attitudes should be reconsidered and improved upon.

    Close and convenient

    The location was convenient and close to the station, which made it easy to visit the Hokusai Museum. Additionally, the large public bath exceeded my expectations with its spaciousness and cleanliness.

    The elevator is not arriving.

    The room assigned on the day was on the 6th floor, one of the lower floors. At 10 PM, I went to the elevator to go shopping at Lawson on the 2nd floor. There are three elevators for lower floors, but one was out of service. The other two were operational but often full with people coming from upper floors, making it impossible to get on. It ended up taking 12 minutes just waiting for an elevator from the 6th floor. After finishing shopping at Lawson and pressing the elevator button on the 2nd floor, it was again full with guests carrying suitcases from the first floor or customers coming up from underground facilities. I had to wait another 10 minutes before getting in. It took a total of 22 minutes just to go shopping at Lawson, leaving me exhausted and frustrated from all that waiting time. Why was one elevator out of service? While I understand this is a large-scale hotel, I didn’t expect it would take this long... Even as an APA Gold Member, my room was still assigned on the 6th floor!
