    Within walking distance of Susukino

    I stayed for one night in early September. It was within walking distance of Susukino, and I could also walk to sightsee at the TV Tower and the Clock Tower. Breakfast was excellent, with many delicious dishes made using ingredients from Hokkaido. There was also a large public bath, which was very relaxing. I understand it can’t be helped since it’s a changing area in the Hotel, but I felt it would be more comfortable if it were a bit larger so guests could change calmly when it gets crowded. This became one of my good memories of Sapporo. Thank you very much.

    We had a comfortable stay.

    I’ve stayed here before on business trips, but this time I visited for a trip with my wife. Every time I come, I’m satisfied with the staff’s pleasant and welcoming service.

    Breakfast is served at Hotel JAL City.

    I chose Sapporo JAL City because I like the breakfast at JAL City, and I was satisfied. There was a wide variety of breakfast options, and the taste met my expectations. The relaxation area after the bath was very comfortable, and they also had ice cream, which I really appreciated.

    The only downside was an unpleasant smell in the Room.

    When I went to my Room after check-in, there was a strong odor like intense body odor, so I asked to change Rooms immediately. The new Room was only slightly better and still had an unpleasant smell. For reference, the first Room smelled strongly enough that anyone would notice, while the second Room was at a level that I—someone with a sensitive sense of smell—could detect. This is difficult to say, but since both Rooms had a similar odor, I felt it might have been lingering scent from Hotel staff who enter both Rooms. Unlike something like missed cleaning, an odor is not something I can tolerate during a Multiple Night Stay, so I ran the air purifier on high and bought a deodorizer. (The windows could not be opened.) I have stayed at JAL City in Fukuoka Tenjin and Haneda and really liked those Hotels, so I chose JAL City in Sapporo this time as well. However, I was surprised that even when choosing a Hotel of this price range, there can be such a gamble-like pitfall—if nothing else, it was a learning experience. Feeling this way on a trip I had been looking forward to was truly discouraging, so I hope for improvement. On the other hand, the Room layout and breakfast were as expected—consistent with other JAL City Hotels—and I was satisfied. There are convenience stores nearby as well as Seicomart (a Hokkaido specialty), and it’s also close to the station, which was great. There were many good points about this Hotel as well, but the negatives stood out during my stay overall, which is why my rating reflects that.

    Great!!

    The hotel was conveniently located near the station, and the large public bath was comfortable, with cleansing oil, toner, and lotion provided. The ice pops after the bath were a nice touch. Breakfast was also great—we enjoyed Hokkaido specialties like seafood rice bowls, soup curry, and ramen.

    It fell far short of my expectations.

    I came with high expectations because of the JAL and Okura names, but... It feels like the JAL group’s overall service level has declined, and both the service and hospitality here are extremely poor. Breakfast doesn’t seem to be making much effort compared with other places. Even though there are plenty of staff, items are hardly replenished, so there are many issues. This was true in the breakfast area staff as well as at the front desk—their manner feels very off. It’s quite irritating. I’m not sure if this is typical in Hokkaido or if it’s just this JAL City. And the Room is small. It was generally clean, but the elevator carpet was covered in dust. It’s not suited for sightseeing—just a standard Business Hotel. The price is completely in the city-hotel range, though. I don’t think I’ll stay again.

    Always a great stay ...

    Always a great stay here. It seems they now offer free drinks during certain hours, which is great! There's also a bath, and I was able to relax and sleep soundly.

    Very satisfied

    We stayed in a connecting room for four people, and the beds were spacious and comfortable, allowing us to enjoy a pleasant stay. The large public bath was relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious. Additionally, since we planned to go sightseeing after check-out before heading to New Chitose Airport, it was very convenient that the Hotel offered a paid service to deliver our suitcases directly to the airport.

    It was a clean and cozy Hotel.

    Conveniently located near Susukino. The facility is clean and well-maintained, and the staff provided excellent service. The breakfast was delicious.

    The breakfast is lux...

    The breakfast is luxurious. Overall, it is a new and clean facility, but the Room cleaning was not thorough and felt dusty. The cleaned Room had an unpleasant smell of sweat from the cleaning staff. Trash from previous guests was left behind. The sauna was too lukewarm, while the cold bath was too cold—there's an imbalance.

    Please ensure the room is cleaned properly.

    Amenities, sleepwear, and towels are replaced, but dishes like glasses and cups are not exchanged even if they are dirty. At first, I thought it was an oversight and requested new ones on the second day, but they were still not replaced from the third day onward. Perhaps it's because of a Multiple Night Stay? Additionally, the phone table gathers layers of dust just by placing items on it, and you can visibly see dust clumps in the drawers without even running your finger through them. The area between the bathroom and dressing room has accumulated dust to a level that seems like it hasn't been cleaned for about two months at home. It feels like there might be missing steps in their cleaning manual. Also, when there were no guests around, the front desk staff's chatter was so lively that I couldn't concentrate on my work in the business lounge.

    The Room, amenities, staff, and breakfast were all very satisfying. It would have been even better if the breakfast buffet menu was displayed for easier understanding.

    Reliable service and cleanliness

    I have stayed at this accommodation in Sapporo multiple times, and as always, it was a comfortable stay. The sauna in the large public bath was perfectly heated, and the cold bath was refreshing. During early hours, it felt almost like a private experience. The room also had a small portable desk prepared for me every time after I mentioned needing one before, making it easier to work. Breakfast features a variety of menus centered around Hokkaido ingredients, so unless you're specifically looking for seafood bowls, you'll likely be satisfied. This time I also used the parking lot and appreciated being allowed to use it slightly earlier than scheduled.

    The front desk staff are excellent.

    The smell was strong as soon as I entered the Hotel. There was a noticeable large stain? Dirt? next to the bed in the guest room, which was disappointing... It made me hesitant to sleep on that bed. The bottom part of the bathroom door also had severe mold and dirt. The lighting was on the dimmer side, but that’s understandable. What stood out positively was the excellent service from the front desk staff.

    Highly Satisfied

    I often stay at JAL City Hotels in other cities, and I am always satisfied with the reliable comfort they provide. I also appreciate the inclusion of a hand towel and amenities for women. The room was more spacious than I expected, and I didn’t feel cramped at all. With Kitara Concert Hall and Susukino within walking distance, the location is excellent, and I would love to stay here again.

    The room had a capsu...

    The room had a capsule coffee maker, allowing us to enjoy delicious coffee. We were also happy to receive bottled water every day. Even when returning late to the hotel, the large public bath was open until 1:00 AM, so we could relax and recover from fatigue; the jet bath was a pleasant surprise. The front desk staff were kind, and the room was clean, which made my friend very happy as well. However, it was unfortunate that construction noise echoed in the morning, preventing us from spending a relaxing morning—that was the only disappointment.

    Public Bath

    The Room was lovely and very satisfying. The bath was spacious and nice, but the changing area was narrow and crowded. It would be helpful to have a place to put towels or body towels after using the washing area. I also think foot towels should be replaced more frequently as they were not very clean. Some international guests left the bath without drying off, leaving the floor wet, which caused inconvenience. It might be better to provide clear instructions or post explanations on the door regarding this matter. If there were a towel rack in the bathroom, guests could dry themselves before heading to the changing area, making it easier for everyone to change smoothly without congestion. For bath use, thinner towels that can be wrung out easily might be more convenient. In addition, I would appreciate having a vacuum cleaner or adhesive roller (lint roller) near the hairdryer station since there were so many hairs stuck on surfaces that it felt unpleasant and difficult to clean up properly; even some people wore slippers because of this issue. Lastly, elevator buttons had many fingerprints and smudges on them, which was slightly disappointing as well.

    It was unfortunate to see some guests not following proper bath etiquette.

    The stay was very comfortable, but it seems that some guests do not follow proper etiquette in the public bath. At night, bath towels and paper towels were scattered on the floor, which was disappointing. While some guests may be unfamiliar with Japanese customs, additional reminders or patrols might help improve the situation.

    I had a Multiple Night Stay.

    I was looking for a Hotel for a business trip and chose this one due to its good Reviews, but I was a bit disappointed. The Room type was left to the Hotel's discretion, and I was staying alone. It was a twin Room, and it was just barely possible to open a suitcase. Also, there was no desk, so I couldn't work on my PC. It seems you can borrow a simple desk from the front desk, but space-wise, it might be a bit tight. The bed was clean, and the floor was also tidy. The window couldn't be opened, but there was an air purifier. There was a TV, but when I entered the Room, it was on a cleaning management screen, and I could see the status of each Room. Up to this point, I could understand, but the sink in the unit bath was incredibly smelly! No matter how much deodorant spray I used, the smell persisted to the point of making me feel sick. The sink was plugged, and water was pooled. The amenities towels placed in this area also seemed to smell, which made me sad. The women's bath changing Room is quite small, so if the Room's TV is functioning normally, it might be good to check the crowd beforehand. I didn't know how to switch from the management screen and ended up turning off the power... Breakfast was ordinary, but the staff who guided me were cheerful, bright, and attentive. I might have expected too much in various ways.

    I slept very well.

    It was comfortable. I got a little lost after getting off the subway, but next time I'll be fine. The Room was clean with no strange smells. The snow-themed lighting next to the bed was very Hokkaido-like and lovely. I also enjoyed a delicious breakfast. If I visit Hokkaido again, I will use it again. Thank you very much.

    A clean Hotel near the station.

    When staying in Sapporo, I first search for this Hotel. There is a large public bath, and you can relax, but be careful as it can be crowded when there are group guests. The breakfast was ordinary. It is within walking distance to Susukino, and during my stay, there was a light-up of autumn leaves at Nakajima Park, which was nice to see. This time, the train from New Chitose Airport was stopped due to a personal accident, so I used the bus (Nakajima Park bound). It was comfortable as I didn't have to carry my luggage and there were no transfers. There seems to be only one bus per hour, but if the timing is right, access by bus might be convenient.

    Anticipation for Breakfast

    Compared to my previous visit, although the breakfast was delicious, it seemed that the variety of dishes had decreased, and I did not feel the excitement and satisfaction.

    Quiet location

    Room... Spacious enough for one person, which was nice. It was good to be able to check the crowd status of the bath and restaurant. There was trash under the bed, giving the impression that cleaning was insufficient. Onsen... Two baths. Compact but clean and nice. Meals... The seafood bowl had only tuna, salmon, and tobiko, which was disappointing due to the limited variety. Other than that, there was a good variety. Service... The male staff at the restaurant guided efficiently, leaving a good impression. Others... It's a bit far from Sapporo Station, but the quiet location was personally nice.

    It was a very clean hotel.

    I was worried because I hadn't stayed at business hotels much, but the location and parking were convenient, the hotel was clean, and everyone at the front desk, restaurant, and parking lot was kind.
