    A Hotel with Excellent Service

    The front desk staff were excellent—truly what you would expect from a Hotel in Japan. Since my Reservation was made through IKYU, I was not asked whether I am a One Harmony member. The Facility is quite old, so I think it’s worth checking in advance.

    Great location with easy access!

    We chose Karasuma Kyoto Hotel for its convenient location just a short walk from Shijo Subway Station and Hankyu Karasuma Station, making access easy. The staff were courteous and attentive, and we were able to spend our time comfortably with peace of mind.

    Excellent location!

    I’ve known about this Hotel for a long time (meaning since I was young—not “Kyoto, the thousand-year capital” long), but this was my first stay. Compared with the compact Hotels that have been increasing in Kyoto recently, it has a spacious lobby and plenty of room throughout, with a sense of elegance and solidity—my stay was far more comfortable than I expected. The location is simply outstanding—right by the exit from Shijo’s underground passage. I’d definitely like to stay here again.

    Invited to Conchikichin!

    As we stayed during Yoiyoiyama of the Saki Festival, Karasuma Street in front of the Hotel became a pedestrian-only zone from 5:00 p.m., and it was lively with many food stalls. This Hotel is in an excellent location for the Gion Festival. It is a reliable Hotel that carries on the tradition of the former Kyoto Hotel. We were able to relax—thank you very much.

    I have stayed here several times.

    The location is excellent, just a short walk from Shijo and Karasuma Stations, and above all, we really appreciated the welcome lounge where our luggage could be delivered to the Hotel upon arriving in Kyoto. This time we mistakenly booked a smoking Room, which was unfortunate, but we would like to stay here again next time.

    Consistently reliable

    Thank you to the front desk and breakfast staff for your kind and pleasant service. Until now, it was very helpful to have a drawer under the luggage rack, but this time it was not available, which was disappointing. I would be happy if I could request this when making a Reservation next time.

    The staff were very pleasant. I also enjoyed the breakfast. Thank you for upgrading our Room. One concern: As soon as I entered the washroom from the Room, there was a damp towel-like smell. The towels themselves didn’t seem to smell that way, though... The washroom and toilet doors are heavy sliding doors, which may be inconvenient for elderly guests. The location is very convenient, so I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Convenient Kyoto Station-front lounge

    Because it was a Plan that included Shuttle Service for my luggage from the lounge in front of the station, I could leave my bags and go sightseeing, which was very convenient. The lounge staff were very pleasant. It’s also very convenient as it’s right by the Shijo Station exit (elevator). Since I was traveling solo, the Room was business-hotel style and perfectly sufficient. I liked that the nightwear was the medical-gown type. Some parts feel a bit old, but overall I’m satisfied. It would have been nice to have coffee. When handling large groups of foreign guests, they tend to occupy the area in front of the elevators, making it hard to pass. If a group arrives, I’d appreciate it if you could ensure there is a clear walkway.

    I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you very much. I lived in Kyoto as a child and often stayed at the Kyoto Hotel on Oike and the Karasuma Kyoto Hotel. The last time I visited the Karasuma Kyoto Hotel was more than 30 years ago, but I also frequently enjoyed the French restaurant and Bar Anchor, which were on the second floor at the time. For this trip to Kyoto, I chose your Hotel again out of nostalgia. The location was convenient with great access, and my Room was quiet—I had a truly wonderful time. I wanted to visit Bar Anchor as well, but unfortunately it was fully booked and I couldn’t get in... I would love to stop by on my next visit. Thank you for helping me create new memories in Kyoto. When I come to Kyoto again, I would like to stay at your Hotel again.

    This is my go-to place to stay in Kyoto.

    I always stay here because it’s close to my friend’s shop. The ladies at the front desk are very pleasant, which makes for a comfortable experience. This time, I had a concern about part of the Room. The hot water faucet in the bathroom seemed to be malfunctioning, so please check on that. I like the scent of the shampoo and body soap. The tea bags in the Room are also very delicious. The Room is spacious enough, and for women, you can request a set of lotions at the front desk if needed, so you can come empty-handed if you'd like! (Haha) It’s a bit disappointing for me as a smoker that smoking is no longer allowed in the Rooms where it used to be permitted. Being close to the station makes it very convenient for me, and I look forward to staying here again!

    The location is incredibly convenient—just steps away from the subway exit! This time, I opted for a twin room for single use, and it felt so spacious. I'll definitely choose this style again next time. The housekeeping staff also greet you warmly, which truly brightens your day.

    Satisfied.

    Located in Shijo, it is very convenient and was my choice. The exterior blends well with the street lined with Hotels, and the approach from the entrance to the reception is bright and spacious. The Room is a Business Hotel type, but it was sufficient for one person and worth the price, leaving me satisfied.

    Stayed on October 5, 2025 (Sunday) for a business trip. Very convenient location, just steps from Shijo Subway Station. Arrived after 2 PM and check-in was smooth. I accidentally locked myself out at night, but the staff kindly assisted me, which was reassuring. The bathroom in the guest room seemed to lack a bidet toilet seat, which is rare these days. However, it wasn’t a major issue for me. Thank you very much!
