    Although the building and Facility are old, we have put a lot of thought into our hospitality.

    It feels great to stretch out in the bath, but when you look up at the ceiling, it’s a stark contrast to how clear the water is—I wish it were cleaner. Still, many guests will likely feel pleasantly relieved by touches like freshly fried croquettes in the morning and even curry served during happy hour. Hearing that if a new Hotel is built next door, they’ll compete with heart really struck me.

    Water only

    The standout was the new building. The Hotel I stayed at was a building I mistakenly passed by, thinking the new building was my destination. However, during check-in, I received water but no explanation about amenities. I assumed items like toothbrushes would be in the Room. There was also no guidance that you need to borrow a key at reception to access the public bath. This was my first experience like this after staying at many places before.

    The front desk service at check-in was rude.

    The front desk staff's attitude during check-in was extremely unpleasant, to the point where it did not feel like a Japanese hotel. I simply asked for confirmation regarding the card key process as I was unsure if it had been completed correctly, but the staff remained visibly irritated and acted as though my request was a major inconvenience. Even after confirming, they responded with silence and an unpleasant expression, showing no basic courtesy expected in hospitality. Additionally, when I asked about my luggage, I was told in a harsh tone that "it is already in your room," but as a first-time guest at this accommodation, there was no way for me to know that beforehand. The attitude implying that I was at fault left me feeling deeply uncomfortable. Having traveled to Japan dozens of times and stayed at many hotels, such a lack of fundamental customer service manners is extremely rare. Before considering location or facilities, the front desk staff's approach to customer service needs to be fundamentally re-evaluated. I strongly hope that such behavior will never be repeated with other guests.

    There is a large public bath where you can relax and warm up.

    It was excellent. The breakfast had a great variety, including Shizuoka's black fish cake, which was very satisfying.

    Premium?

    The sink is only on the desk next to the bed, so you can't wash your hands immediately after using the toilet. There is no unit bath, just a small shower room, possibly because there is a public bath. Unless you choose a Plan with mineral water included, it seems water isn't provided either. It felt more like cost-cutting under the guise of SDGs. I stay in Shizuoka several times a month, but I won't be staying here again.

    A hotel that feels warm

    Although it is a small Hotel, the Room was clean and the staff at the front desk were kind. The rate including breakfast is reasonable, and it was nice to be able to take it to the Room. I was impressed by how well they cater to the needs of guests, as there are several types of bath additives available at the front desk in small cups as a service for the Room. It is a bit away from the city center, but it is in front of the station, so I think it is very convenient.

    Cost performance and accessibility

    The desk and sturdy chair are ideal for business guests' PC work. You can hear sounds from the hallway, but not from the neighboring rooms, ensuring comfort. The large public bath has three faucets and is somewhat small, but the bathtub is spacious. Breakfast includes the enjoyment of Vietnamese cuisine.

    About drinking water

    There are no beverage bottles provided in the Room. Upon checking with the front desk, the response was that tap water is drinkable... In a 12-story building, it seems that water is supplied after being stored in a tank once...? It would be nice to have two bottles provided.

    Is it normal?

    I suddenly needed to stay in Shizuoka, but the meals did not suit me. The rice was dry and not tasty. I would have preferred a regular Japanese-style rolled omelet instead of the Vietnamese-style one. There were some people with poor manners in the dining area, so I wonder if the clientele is not very good. I did not use the large public bath or happy hour, so I can't comment on those. Everything else was average. If the accommodation fee is the same, I should have gone elsewhere.
