Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae (Artificial Hot Spring Futamata Yunohana)

The service was fine. The biggest drawback was that the parking lot was hard to find. I went to the large public bath around 20:30, but there were only enough washing stations for about four people and it was full, so I couldn’t even get into the tub and had to wait naked. It was right after dinner when it gets crowded, so it seems better to go at a different time. Overall, I would have liked the price to be a bit lower.

For this stay, I had made a reservation at Green Rich Hotel Matsue Ekimae. However, upon checking the hotel's prior information, I learned that the structure differs between "Matsue Ekimae" and "Matsue Station Across," and wheelchair users need to confirm in advance. At "Across," the room layout required maneuvering a wheelchair in tight spaces due to a wall directly in front of the entrance, making entry and exit challenging.Additionally, while the name "Matsue Ekimae" suggests proximity to the station, it turned out that “Matsue Station Across” is actually closer with better access. This might be confusing for first-time visitors.I stayed at “Matsue Station Across” this time. The interior featured simple designs using plywood materials without unnecessary costs, offering cleanliness and an overall pleasant impression. The minimalist atmosphere was refreshing and comfortable.On the other hand, I experienced some stress during check-in.The front desk staff were occupied assisting non-Japanese-speaking international guests, which caused delays and left me feeling frustrated. Although there were staff present, most of the process was directed towards self-check-in machines with minimal face-to-face interaction or explanation from staff members—this felt impersonal and disappointing. Moreover, operating the check-in machine was not intuitive and added further stress.While location convenience and cleanliness were positive aspects of my stay, there is room for improvement regarding clarity on naming versus actual distance as well as enhancements in check-in guidance.For future guests considering this accommodation option, confirming differences between Matsue Ekimae and Across beforehand will ensure a more comfortable stay experience.
