    Slippers

    As a Business Hotel, it is standard overall, but the in-room slippers were outdated reused vinyl ones, which felt inappropriate for today’s standards. Please switch to disposable slippers or properly sanitized slippers.

    I had a great-value stay.

    I stayed here to participate in the Saga Sakura Marathon. On the day, hotels in Saga City were expensive, so although it was a bit farther away, I chose to stay in Tosu. The bathroom could have been cleaned more thoroughly, but otherwise my stay was comfortable.

    How about this...

    The location is convenient, but since there are limited accommodation options in Tosu, it might feel like there's no other choice. Parking: Only 5 spaces available, which fill up quickly. Guests are directed to nearby parking lots, but while your name is taken in advance, they don't even offer to hold your luggage. This means you have to carry your belongings from the distant parking lot yourself. The room is very dim. While efforts have been made to add more lighting later on, adjusting it for sleeping or waking up feels overly inconvenient. As a business hotel, high-end services aren't expected; however, there are no USB power outlets. The internet speed is extremely slow and unsuitable for work purposes—a business hotel where you can't work... USB power strips can be borrowed at the front desk but must be picked up in person. It gives the impression that rural service industries aim for a job without gratitude—especially since only older staff seem to manage the front desk. This leaves little hope for future service improvements. It seems like the hotel lacks clear goals or direction. With this management and environment, recruiting younger employees may become even more challenging moving forward.

    What is a Business Hotel?

    I stayed for a business trip and chose this Hotel for its convenience being close to the site, staying for 3 nights. First, the good points: breakfast was served individually rather than buffet-style, offering a well-balanced and delicious meal. However, I was surprised by some aspects: - The parking lot is limited; you cannot park in front of the Hotel and need to walk about 3 minutes to a paid parking area. - The guest room door had noticeable stains or scratches, giving an impression of lack of cleanliness even before entering the Room. - The bedside table was too small to place items on it. - There were no power outlets near the bed. - The sink area also lacked space for placing items. - Despite being a twin Room, the door between the toilet and bath area was a sliding door without a lock. These inconveniences made my stay slightly uncomfortable; however, I understand that these might be acceptable under the Business Hotel category standards.

    The bathtub was not cleaned, and there was hair...

    The female staff at check-in provided polite and attentive service, raising my expectations. However, the scratches on the room's table and desk were noticeable, and the furnishings looked worn out. I accepted it as a given since it’s a Business Hotel. I reminded myself that I chose this Hotel for its spacious rooms with large baths. But when I tried to fill the bathtub, there were hairs—presumably from a previous guest—not just one or two! The tub also felt grimy, so I called the front desk. Eventually, they moved me to another Room, but the elderly male staff member handled it without an apology or any emotion in his response. It made me wonder if poor cleaning is common at this Accommodation. At such a late hour when my luggage was unpacked and all that was left was to bathe and sleep, having to move Rooms due to an unclean bath was frustrating beyond words. Additionally, not having amenities like lotion or moisturizer was inconvenient even for a Business Hotel. This experience made me feel that this Accommodation should not be listed on IKYU.com—it’s by far my worst experience booking through IKYU.com!
