    An ideal location for exploring Shiretoko.

    First of all, the location is great. The all-inclusive plan is excellent. The Room was clean and had an open-air bath, a washing machine, a mini kitchen, and a microwave.

    The room was great for enjoying the sunset. However, it was disappointing that the buffet dishes for dinner and breakfast were almost the same. Also, there were only two hairdryers in the large public bath, so I had to wait in line; it would be nice if more could be added.

    Best value for money

    I was initially worried due to the lack of good reviews, but the large public bath was clean and comfortable, with a sauna and open-air bath. The meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner, offering Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes, as well as options like Genghis Khan barbecue, sashimi, and sushi. It was great to choose according to my mood or condition that day. The breakfast salad was delicious too, with options for both Japanese and Western tastes. The room was spacious with a relaxing private bath. I was pleasantly surprised to find even a washing machine in the room!

    The meals were very disappointing.

    The Room was excellent, and the check-in service was very smooth and professional. However, the meals were disappointing, which lowers the overall rating! Especially dinner—it was far below expectations for the price paid.

    Overall, it was great.

    We stayed during the off-peak tourist season, so it was a calm and relaxing experience. The staff's hospitality was excellent. The meals featured a wide variety of ingredients, almost too much to finish. Was the beer server malfunction just a coincidence? The yukata provided as room wear felt outdated.

    It was the worst among the reservations made through IKYU.

    The number of staff is too few! Most of the staff are foreigners, and communication in Japanese is difficult. The room service meal was cold, and when I tried to call the front desk to order drinks, no one answered. They also didn’t bring the dessert. I had no choice but to book here during the drift ice season, trusting in the IKYU brand, but I was very disappointed.

    There will be no second time.

    The front desk has a dim atmosphere with a smell resembling Asian spices. During check-in, only the meal and onsen times were explained, and no other information was provided. There were no informational materials in the room, so it was unclear how room cleaning, trash disposal, or towel replacement would be handled during a multiple night stay. At other hotels, trash collection and towel replacement are usually done without request, but here you need to ask for them specifically. The room is spacious but the cleaning of the bathroom area was sloppy; there were water stains and what appeared to be toothpaste splatters left behind. Meals are served buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner; however, even warm dishes were served lukewarm at best. The menu remained almost identical over two nights and wasn’t particularly tasty. We opted to eat at nearby restaurants outside instead—though there aren’t many options available. As for the onsen facilities, it seems that the changing rooms are not cleaned frequently enough as the floor mats were very wet. We visited Shiretoko during drift ice season but couldn’t secure reservations at any other hotel except this one due to availability issues. Unfortunately, we wouldn’t choose this accommodation again as our experience didn’t meet expectations—it became clear why their rates are so low.
