    First visit to Koriyama since the earthquake

    It was my first stay in Koriyama in 20 years, and I was able to relax thanks to the convenient location near the station and the well-equipped Facility, including a large public bath. The ice cream and Yakult available in the bath area were a wonderful touch, and the late-night ramen was delicious as well. After checkout, I enjoyed coffee at the front desk at my leisure, and I truly appreciated that everyone at reception kindly let me take a break without saying anything. It’s a Hotel where even small, thoughtful services feel comforting. I’d definitely like to stay again.

    While it did offer some of the amenities you’d find at Dormy Inn (such as late-night soba), the Room felt old and small, and somehow not very relaxing. Considering the price was high for that, it didn’t feel like a great value.

    It was a wonderful stay.

    It was my first time visiting Koriyama. Everyone at the front desk and in the restaurant was very kind, and I felt how warm the people of Fukushima are. The building shows its age, but the bed was spacious and clean, and the large public bath was also spacious, clean, and wonderful. Since there is a large public bath, I didn’t use the Room bathroom, but I appreciated that it was separate from the toilet. I also enjoyed the late-night noodles and the ice cream after bathing. Breakfast offered a variety of local dishes—especially delicious were the Fukushima beef hot pot and miso kanpura (potatoes). I also liked being able to adjust the portion size of the DIY sauce katsudon, so even as a light eater I could try many dishes. I was impressed that you placed my luggage (which I left before check-in) in my Room—even though it was a business stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    I stayed for two nights starting on Sunday.

    Compared to other Dormy Inn properties I’ve stayed at, this one felt a bit older. It would have been better if the women’s and men’s baths were switched daily. The women’s bath had no open-air bath compared to the men’s, and the changing area was smaller, so the sinks were very crowded in the morning. I was satisfied with the breakfast buffet because it offered Fukushima specialties.

    Would love to visit again.

    Check-in and check-out were automated, but the reception staff made a good impression by stopping what they were doing to greet us properly. The lobby and breakfast area offered free coffee, while free ice cream and Yakult were available near the bath area, making it an enjoyable Hotel for both business trips and leisure stays. At night, the "night ramen" service was a nice touch with noodles drained right in front of you as part of the presentation. We traveled with a small child, and during breakfast, a foreign staff member quickly brought over a buffet cart before we even had to ask for help—this was very thoughtful. However, regarding the guest room cleanliness, it was disappointing. There were insects near the window, mold in wet areas like around the sink, and black mold on the air conditioner vents. While I understand that maintaining cleanliness can be challenging given the number of rooms, visible mold should definitely be addressed. Additionally, placing bathroom cups on diatomaceous earth coasters raised some hygiene concerns for me. Overall service at this Hotel was excellent; only hygiene issues stood out as needing improvement.

    Thank you for your patronage.

    I visited for sightseeing. Check-in was smooth with the automated system, but I had to search for the elevator and amenities as there was no guidance provided. It didn’t take much time, but a little assistance would have been appreciated. The Room was compact yet functional. However, when I dropped my glasses under the bed and reached in to retrieve them, I found unused cotton swabs and dust, which was a bit disappointing. My husband used the sauna multiple times and seemed very satisfied with it. Breakfast offered a variety of small dishes, all of which were delicious. Overall, it was a mix of good and slightly disappointing experiences, but since we often use Dormy Inn hotels, we will visit again if we have another opportunity. Thank you for your hospitality!

    For me, it's a perfect score as a business hotel.

    Although it is slightly away from the station, it is easy to find. For me, having a massage service available at all times is a big plus. I have used various Dormy Inn locations, and this one is quite excellent.

    If guests are required to use a multi-story parking lot that is not close to the Hotel, the front desk should take extra care. Last time, I had to return to the Hotel because I was not given a parking ticket. This time, even though I received a receipt for the parking fee, it was not reflected on the parking ticket, and once again, I had to go back to the Hotel. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining this time. I hope for better management in this regard. It’s disappointing considering how beautiful the Hotel is.

    I will not make a reservation next time.

    I made the Reservation because it is part of the Dormy Inn group. The Facility was old, and the provided Room wear had an odor, so I didn’t use it. I couldn’t relax in the Onsen or in the Room. The Room was small, the TV was outdated, and I was surprised there wasn’t a refrigerator. The post-Onsen ice cream service and late-night soba service were nice touches. While I like the Dormy Inn Hotel chain, I wouldn’t make a Reservation at this Hotel again.

    The breakfast and large public bath are excellent.

    I stayed for one night and was generally satisfied. However, there were two points of concern. The first point is the shower room in the Room. The water pressure was weak, and the hot water did not get warm enough. This was not something I experienced at other Dormy Inns, so it left me a bit puzzled. If this is intentional, it should be clearly stated. The second point is the pillow on the bed. It was a bit too low for my preference. While I could have mentioned this to the front desk, it still stood out as an issue for me. On a positive note, as mentioned in the title, breakfast was exceptional. The dishes made with local ingredients were delightful. Additionally, having a coffee maker near the front desk is highly appreciated. The public bath had great hot water as well. Lastly, the staff's courteous service added to my pleasant experience.
