    First stay at Richmond Hotel Fukushima Ekimae Overall personal rating: 87/100 (I could truly feel the spirit of hospitality from the Hotel staff—at the front desk, in the breakfast area, and from the morning cleaning team—through their greetings and attentiveness. A wonderful Hotel!) *When the people (everyone at the Hotel) are great, it gives you energy from the morning!! Thank you very much for everything on this trip!

    Close to the station! Clean! Affordable!

    I stayed on the Early Bird 56 / No Meals Included Plan in a Corner Double Room for Single Use (Non-Smoking) (Double). This was my first time staying near Fukushima Station, and I’m glad I chose this Accommodation. The Room was compact, but clean and easy to use. In particular, the bathroom was very clean, which I think is especially appreciated by women. Amenities are placed next to the elevator for you to choose what you need, and everything necessary is available. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the drip coffee in the Room was! The staff were very kind as well, and I had a comfortable stay.

    Day 1 of the Drive Across All Prefectures in Eastern Japan

    Starting from my hometown of Tsukuba City in Ibaraki, I took a driving trip through Mito, Hitachiota, Kitaibaraki, and Oarai. After exploring those areas, I headed straight north and toured every corner of the towns along Fukushima’s Hamadori coast in order, then drove all the way along National Route 114 in Namie before reaching Fukushima City. Even though I was completely exhausted from driving, thank you for providing such wonderful hospitality. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity.

    Blood on the sheets

    I was surprised to find what looked like blood on the bedsheets. Other than that, there was nothing in particular that concerned me. If I had to mention something, there were stains on the side of the mattress—possibly from spilled coffee or something—but I thought that can happen sometimes.

    Convenient

    Conveniently connected to the west exit of Fukushima Station (Shinkansen side). There is also a convenience store nearby. With an automatic check-out machine, you can stay in your Room until about 15 minutes before the Shinkansen departure. The Room is spacious and comfortable.

    I stayed here again this year following last year. The Room was not very spacious, but for a Business Hotel, it was relatively roomy. The bathroom and toilet were a unit type but were clean and well-maintained. While the Room had shampoo and conditioner, I appreciated being able to take items like individually packaged lotion, moisturizer, and drip bag coffee from the front desk to the Room as needed. Breakfast was served in an izakaya run by the Royal Group in a buffet style, offering an impressive variety far beyond that of other Business Hotels—very satisfying! I will definitely stay here again when visiting Fukushima.

    The staff is very friendly and helpful.

    Close to the station, clean and well-maintained building, reasonable pricing. I have been using this Hotel since its opening, and it remains clean and fresh even after many years. The staff are excellent and kindly accommodated our somewhat bold requests. The bathroom facilities are sufficient, with body soap and shampoo that smell great and leave hair smooth without any dryness after drying. Each guest is provided with one face towel and one bath towel. The towels are thick, highly absorbent, and very comfortable to use; the bath towel is slightly larger for added convenience. The coin laundry area is air-conditioned for a comfortable experience when loading or unloading clothes. Breakfast is served in a restaurant that operates as an izakaya at night but transforms into a morning dining space with a calm Japanese-style atmosphere during breakfast hours. A few years ago, they offered a buffet focused on Japanese cuisine. Personally, I prefer spending my mornings in a bright and refreshing space; therefore, I often walk about 10 minutes to Denny's for breakfast instead. In consideration of eco-friendliness, amenities can be picked up individually from the counter near the front desk as needed. I will definitely stay at this Hotel again next time!

The breakfast looked amazing in the photos, so I had high expectations, but it was average. However, the manager and staff were very dedicated, which was appreciated. Including items like rice porridge or tofu might be a good option for women who prefer lighter breakfasts. Since the breakfast venue is a repurposed izakaya (Japanese pub), each person is seated individually at tables meant for four people, which can lead to seats filling up quickly.

    Fuku no Shima

    I have used it before, and it brought back nostalgic memories. I used the pack I received at check-in, and the quality was excellent. The Room was spacious, and the bed size was large, allowing me to rest comfortably. I would like to use it again when I visit Fukushima.

    In Fukushima City, it's just this Hotel and one other place, I guess. I often use it. However, the breakfast is not quite to my taste... I don't go to the izakaya, Hyakunen no Utage... I will continue to use it from now on.

    I often use the Richmond Hotel. It was my first time using it in Fukushima, and while the location was good and overall it was a satisfying stay, it was a bit disappointing that there was no freezer in the Room's refrigerator and that the replenishment of dishes and utensils during breakfast was not keeping up. Since I stayed for two nights, I was hoping to eat the delicious dishes again, but it was a regret that I couldn't, although everything was delicious. I hope these points will be improved in the future.

    Conveniently located near the station, and with a discount parking ticket, it was a great deal at 600 yen. The room was clean and pleasant, and although the amenities were the type you take from the front desk, they were well-stocked. I initially booked without breakfast, but added it for 1600 yen, and everything at the buffet was delicious. The bathroom was a unit bath, which was the only disappointment, but overall, I was very satisfied. I was quite torn between this and other hotels in front of the station, but it was the perfect choice.

    The breakfast venue is terrible... The breakfast venue is an izakaya on the first floor of the Hotel. Around 7 o'clock, there are a fair number of users, but not that many tables. On the first day, it was a one-person operation. I felt sorry for the person working. I had to find and secure an empty table myself. What is this? The only strength of the Hotel is its location. The bathroom smells of sulfur even though it's not an Onsen. I thought IKYU.com provided a certain level of business hotels, but I have to change that thought. I would never recommend this Hotel to anyone, absolutely not...

    It is a reliable standard Hotel at Fukushima Station!

    I have used it several times, and I can always stay with peace of mind due to the courteous service and clean rooms. I heard that there will be a social experiment allowing passage through the station gates when moving between the west and east exits. If this movement actually starts, I am looking forward to staying without worrying about the west or east exit.

    Stable comfort

    Whenever I visit by car to Fukushima City, I always choose this Hotel. However, this time the parking lot was full, so I had to wait about 30 minutes to enter for the first time. I understand that it is a shared parking lot with general users, but I would appreciate it if there were reserved spaces for guests. Other than that, I have no complaints. This time I stayed for 2 nights and was able to spend my time comfortably.
