  Surrounded by nature

  The meals are very healthy, using locally sourced ingredients. However, many dishes require guests to cook for themselves, such as shabu-shabu and kushikatsu, and they also feel like dishes that even we homemakers could make. In other words, it seemed there were few dishes with a creative twist. Using freshly harvested vegetables and eggs, I would like the head chef to offer more elaborate dishes. The Room and bath were wonderful, and we were able to relax while fully enjoying nature. This time, when we asked, additional towels were brought free of charge; however, since we bathe in the Onsen multiple times, we would be happy if two towels per person could be provided from the start. Thank you very much.

  The Onsen was wonderful, and I was able to relax.

  The staff were very attentive, and I was able to relax in a bright, comfortable atmosphere. The lukewarm Onsen was pleasantly soothing—I wanted to stay in it forever, even though it was blazing hot outside. I ordered the whale course; this area is known for whale. The lean meat had a noticeable smell and wasn’t great, but the unesu (whale belly) was very delicious.

  Girls' Trip

  This was my first time staying here. The female staff member in charge of customer service was very kind, polite, and friendly. The Room was spacious and perfect for a girls' trip, but the private open-air bath felt a bit small compared to the Room. After 9 PM, no one answered the phone at the front desk despite multiple calls. Although our matter wasn't urgent, we felt uneasy wondering what we would do if something serious happened since we weren't informed about any emergency contact options (usually Ryokans provide an emergency mobile number if no one is available at night). Additionally, there seemed to be some construction nearby as we heard noises starting around 7 AM. We were surprised by this unexpected noise in what should have been a quiet mountain area. Overall, these issues left us feeling quite disappointed with our stay.

  Such a lovely accommodation, but disappointing.

  Stayed with a pet. The listing mentioned "pet meals included (2 meals)," but there were none. When I inquired, I was told it referred to snacks, but no snacks were provided either. Upon further inquiry, I was told they would provide them upon request, which differed from the information on IKYU.com. The official website stated that all drinks in the refrigerator were free, but there were no drinks in the refrigerator. There were no pet amenities or etiquette bags provided. The dishes still had remnants of previous food and weren’t cleaned properly. While the scenery, environment, and spacious grounds were wonderful and relaxing, it was disappointing overall.

  A wonderful accommodation.

  The facility, hospitality, and environment of this accommodation are excellent. However, if I may add a small suggestion, the open-air bath is surrounded by wooden walls and lacks a view. Despite the spacious area of the accommodation, the open-air bath is small and does not offer an outdoor scenery. I wonder if the open-air bath was added later?

  A new accommodation open for 5 years

  Located in the mountains, this hidden gem of an accommodation is well-maintained. The bath facilities include both indoor and open-air options, offering a luxurious experience. For an Onsen accommodation with private Onsen in the room, it is reasonably priced. Meals are served as mountain-style kaiseki cuisine and were delicious. However, adding a standout feature would enhance its uniqueness. We traveled with my grandmother and appreciated the shuttle service to the accommodation building using a cart. Please note that only Google Maps can accurately guide you to this location; other navigation systems, including car GPS, may not work (address input cannot be completed fully, and phone number search leads to incorrect locations). Road signs are also hard to spot as they are obscured by foliage. For reference, we used a GPS system less than one year old in our car.

  Second time

  The meals, especially the sashimi for dinner, were fresh and delightful. Every dish was prepared with care. This second visit was even more impressive than the first. Adjusting the bathwater temperature can be tricky, but I managed it well this time. I had a very pleasant stay. This is an accommodation I would love to visit repeatedly.

  From Tokyo! It was amazing.

  I have visited Hakone, Kinugawa, Ikaho, Kusatsu, and in Kyushu, Kurokawa, Yufuin, and Ureshino Onsen. This time, I stayed one night at the Marriott in Tokyo for the Lantern Festival, and then came here. Everything, from the facilities to the service and the meals, is truly wonderful. However, just one thing... The meal for elementary school children consisted mostly of fried foods like hamburg steak, croquettes, and chicken nuggets. The sashimi was served first, and the kids were super excited, but their excitement dropped when faced with the high-calorie kids' meal. I think that nowadays, elementary school children might not be looking for kids' meals. Parents, too, are becoming more conscious and want their children to enjoy truly delicious food as part of their food education. Just the sashimi, the beautifully presented and delicious roast beef, and the soup served for adults would be enough. I believe that many of the children in families who choose this place have refined palates, so it would be greatly appreciated if you could provide fewer but higher-quality items instead of frozen or processed foods. Recently, at high-end Ryokan in Hakone, children's meals might not include hamburg steak, curry, or fried chicken. Still, I think I will visit again someday.

  The private bath was excellent.

  I saw the photos of the private bath on IKYU and made a reservation. There was a significant issue with this private bath, but they managed to recover well. Once I got in, it was truly beyond my expectations, and I wanted to stay in forever. I believe this bath alone can attract guests, and there are many who come specifically for it besides us. Therefore, if the operation status varies by season, I would like it to be disclosed properly. (For those considering using the private bath, we recommend checking its availability with the Property in advance.) The meals were not extravagant but everything was delicious. I could tell that good ingredients were used. Especially breakfast might have been the best I've ever had. Thank you for your hospitality.

  Four Aunties' Trip!

  Since passing our sixtieth birthday, four friends from high school have been taking an annual overnight trip to a nearby Onsen. While searching for our next destination, we found this place, and the reservation period offered significant discounts and point usage, so we made a reservation immediately. It was so deep in the mountains that we wondered if we were on the right path, but the room had a flowing bath and an open-air bath. Although the temperature was low, we could soak slowly, and it was very nice hot water that warmed our bodies. The meals were not overly seasoned, and everything was delicious. We were concerned that there might be insects in the summer, but since it was November, we had no such worries, and it turned out to be a truly relaxing and wonderful trip.

  Relax and enjoy at the Onsen deep in the mountains.

  This was my first time using the service. The staff were very kind and considerate, allowing me to have a truly pleasant time. The room had ample space, and the kotatsu was a delightful touch during the slightly chilly season. The quality of the hot water was soft, allowing for long enjoyment at a low temperature. I stayed with breakfast only, but it was very delicious. Next time, I definitely want to request a stay with dinner included. Thank you very much.

  We were able to have a happy time.

  The hospitality was wonderful. All the staff provided pleasant service. The room, meals, and bath were all excellent. It was my first experience. As per other reviews, it was a wonderful property. Thank you very much.
