Great value for money!
The Room was old, but spacious and easy to use. The buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, was very delicious, and we were extremely satisfied. Since the large public bath was in a separate building, getting there was a bit of a hassle, but it was a great Onsen. We were surprised at this price for what we got. It was also close to the bus stop and very convenient. This is an Accommodation we would definitely like to stay at again.

Relax in the Onsen
I was able to relax and unwind! If I had to mention one thing, getting to the bath required taking an elevator, walking down a corridor, then taking another elevator, which was a bit inconvenient. Other than that, I had a very relaxing stay—Hakone really is wonderful!

It feels like some of the finer details were handled a bit roughly.
The Room was spacious and comfortable. The kids enjoyed a pillow fight. The Onsen had a slightly silky feel and seemed authentic. However, although it’s an open-air bath, the roof is covered, so it didn’t feel very open. The toilet and bathtub in the Room were old and felt a bit worn-in, which was disappointing. The buffet had a wide variety of options, but I wished each dish had been prepared with a bit more care in terms of taste. The parking lot was full, so we had to use the temporary parking area, but lots of small tree fruits had fallen there and our windows got quite dirty. Still, since the price was low, my overall satisfaction is 4. An 11:00 checkout is nice because it gives you plenty of time.

Staying for the first time in 17 years
Pros - The renovated front desk, lounge, and restaurant are clean, relaxing, and beautifully designed. It gets crowded during the day, so evening use is recommended. - The lounge offers a small selection of basic games such as Jenga, The Game of Life, and UNO for free. - Access is controlled by card key (including entry to the bath area). - The bath is not large, but it is well maintained and very clean; even the faucets in the bathing area are spotless. - I had it years ago as well, and the asparagus is still delicious. - Dinner time is flexible with no time limit. Cons - I didn’t use the yukata because they smelled like they had been used for many years. - Cleaning is thorough, but the Room feels dated. - Restaurant: although the dining area is spacious, the food serving area feels cramped—possibly a design flaw? You don’t necessarily need to line up to serve yourself, but most guests wait their turn properly, so there was a very long line. - The restaurant selection felt limited; it would be better to create more standout dishes like the asparagus—items that make guests want seconds. Overall impressions The renovated areas are genuinely comfortable, and the staff seemed kind and helpful. However, small details stood out in a negative way overall. It’s great that modern features like card keys have been introduced, but some parts of the Room feel old—for example, there was an ashtray-style toilet paper holder in the bathroom/toilet area. The sofa and TV stand designs don’t match and feel lacking in taste—like a collection of mismatched items from different places. The refrigerator also shows its age. Even though bedding may be washed, issues like holes in sheets made me question overall cleanliness. I think an urgent Room renovation—and introducing stylish loungewear similar to what staff wear (jinbei-style)—would make everything look more refined and fashionable overall. There’s a noticeable gap between new and old areas; I hope improvements will be made as funding allows. Meals are often one of guests’ biggest highlights when staying at an Accommodation , so even if there aren’t many items available, I’d love to see more carefully crafted dishes that make you want refills. It was my first stay in a while; I’m hoping for improvements so I can consider staying again next time.

Family-friendly
This is a family-friendly Hotel. We stayed to enjoy the sulfur hot spring, which is rare in Hakone. We were satisfied with that, but the facilities, including the Room, felt dated. Also, perhaps because it was during summer vacation, there were many children and it wasn’t very relaxing, and the buffet quality was geared toward kids. Overall, I think it’s a good Hotel for families.

Stayed in the North ...
Stayed in the North Wing. Overall, I was satisfied. The Onsen water quality was especially good. I’ll mention only the points that concerned me. The Room itself was spacious and clean, but it was a bit disappointing that only the toilet remained old-style. I would like a box in the large public bath for used towels. I would like hand soap at the sinks in the women’s bath area. I would have liked a towel rack by the sink in the Room for a hand towel.

It was my first stay here in a while.
It was my first stay in several years. Due to my own booking mistake, it was a smoking Room, but the front desk offered to prepare an air purifier; the smell did not bother me that much. The Room was spacious, and I enjoyed the meals—they were delicious. Above all, the staff, including the front desk team, were truly wonderful—always smiling and pleasant. Thank you very much. It made for a very good trip.

I’ll definitely stay here again!
When we arrived at the Hotel around 4:00 p.m., parking was limited, so we had to park a little away from the Hotel, which was a bit disappointing. However, the Hotel staff guided us properly, which was very helpful. Since the entrance was renovated a few years ago, the Hotel entrance and the area with welcome drinks and sweets were very clean and beautiful. There were also table tennis and table soccer, and it was lively with guests. Welcome drinks such as apple juice and coffee were free, and beer and special drinks were also sold for 500 yen; we were able to relax while enjoying them with delicious bite-sized cakes. The Room had slightly older fixtures that felt like the early Heisei era, but it was clean, and we didn’t feel any particular discomfort or major inconvenience (though there were a few moments of “Oh, so this is how you use it!”). Since we stayed two nights, we requested Room cleaning; the bed-making was done extremely neatly, and it felt wonderful. The dining area was very hygienic, clean, and comfortable. It was also nice that staff regularly came to our table to clear finished plates. Although there were slightly fewer menu options than at other Hotels, each item was delicious and carefully prepared, so we were satisfied. Honestly, for us personally the variety felt just right. For dinner—the meal we had been looking forward to—the soup in puff pastry crust (pot pie), fried asparagus wrapped in meat rolls, churrasco-style meat dishes including aged roast pork loin (roast pork), and sashimi were especially delicious; I went back for seconds many times. For breakfast, the rice balls (onigiri), sweet simmered ginger (kanroni), and omelets cooked right in front of us were incredibly good. Our child was impressed too—saying all of the egg dishes were delicious—and went back for more several times. We stayed in the North Wing (building), so getting to the baths only required taking an elevator down without using an underground passageway. The outdoor bath using cloudy hot spring water from the source (gensen) was the hottest one and felt great. The indoor bath temperature was just right for small children as well—we could soak comfortably. The bubble bath and jet bath hitting our shoulders and back also helped relieve fatigue. Since we used Yunessun first: after only spin-drying our swimsuits there at Yunessun then using the Hotel dryer for one hour (200 yen) for four family members’ swimsuits at once—they dried thoroughly so we could take them home dry. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much as well for your courteous service throughout our stay.

Meals After Renovation
Thank you very much for allowing us to enjoy the newly renovated and excellent Onsen once again. Compared with before, the entire building now features darker tones and feels refined and stylish, which is wonderful. The Onsen Facility was thoroughly cleaned throughout and felt very hygienic. Temperature control was also well managed, making for a comfortable bath. The dining area was spacious, so we could eat with peace of mind; however, compared with before—likely due to recent increases in ingredient costs—it felt as though the number of dishes has decreased significantly and the overall quality has declined. The crab dishes are gone, but the signature asparagus-and-meat roll fritters are still available and were just as delicious as ever. In particular, it was disappointing that there were fewer small side dishes. Also, it was sad to see that the coffee machine has been replaced by a pot, and that ice cream is no longer available and has been changed to ice pops. I understand these are challenging times in many ways, but I would be grateful if you could make just a little more effort.

Thank you for your continued support.
Since the renovation, the dinner venue has become more spacious and much more comfortable, so I’ve been visiting frequently. The seasonal menus are always delicious, and above all I love the natural hot spring water in the large public bath, which is why I keep coming back. However, this time I was surprised to find a lot of hair and sliminess in the spring water (sadly). The hair may be unavoidable since it comes down to guests’ manners, but still... Also, every time, the outdoor open-air bath is so hot that no one can soak in it. It’s a shame because it would feel wonderful otherwise. I would be happy if this Review leads to improvements.

Enjoy relaxation and comfort
This was my first stay! The Hotel is just a few minutes from the Hakone Glass Forest Museum, so it was very easy to find. After arriving, I took a relaxing break in the calm lounge with a welcome drink; in addition to tea (which may vary by day), we were served delicious warabi mochi that day. All the staff greeted us with smiles and unhurried service, which made me feel truly at ease. The meals were clearly well thought out overall. There was a great variety, and I was very satisfied to enjoy both hearty options and beauty-focused dishes. I also loved having morning smoothies and being able to add toppings to the acai yogurt. I’d love to stay again! Thank you very much.

An Elderly Couple’s Trip
I stayed at Re-Ka-V for the first time in 20 years over the weekend. It wasn’t crowded, and I was able to relax and fully enjoy the luxurious meals and the milky white sulfur Onsen. I’ll be back again.

Flexible meal times are a plus.
It was very convenient that on the day of check-in we could use our time freely until the restaurant’s opening hours. The Onsen source water was also excellent, and there was plenty of space in both the washing area and the restroom. However, I was surprised by the Room lighting—an inexpensive-looking, ceiling-mounted fluorescent color. With the lights on, it didn’t feel relaxing. For a Hotel in an Onsen area to some extent, I think more consideration should be given to lighting and Room furnishings. When we added an extra bed, it had no cushioning at all; to accommodate it, even the cushions on the twin beds were changed as well, making them hard and preventing us from sleeping well. Since both the meals and the bath are so good, I wanted to share this feedback in hopes that attention to these details will lead to improvements.

We are satisfied with the meals.
As expected from the reviews, the asparagus rolls and the breakfast rice balls were delicious. The variety of other dishes was also satisfying. However, the age of the Room furnishings is noticeable. The hangers were still usable, so that was acceptable, but the chair in front of the mirror and the sofa had worn fabric and poor cushioning. In particular, when sitting on the sofa, the edge pressed into me and became painful. I would like to see the upholstery replaced and the cushioning repaired/restored.

About Yukata Sizes
Just one thing about the yukata sizes: when we chose based on the height guide, they were too large, so all three of us changed to one size smaller. We’re sorry for the extra laundry this caused. Do other guests usually have no issues with the sizing? Everything else—such as the meals and the Room—was excellent, and we would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

The Room is not properly cleaned.
The breakfast and dinner buffet didn’t have a huge variety, but my child went back for seconds many times for the sashimi served in small dishes, yakisoba, doria, fried chicken, small-dish beef, shabu-shabu, roast beef, and asparagus wrapped in bacon. Both kids and adults could enjoy it, and the sashimi at both breakfast and dinner was especially delicious. Overall, we were satisfied with the buffet. However, We stayed right after Golden Week, but the Room was far too hot. The control panel wouldn’t allow switching to air conditioning. I informed the front desk, but they said they couldn’t turn on the air conditioning. My child was sweating; we opened the window, but leaving it open felt unsafe. It was so uncomfortable that I couldn’t sleep at all. If it’s chilly you can add layers; if it’s hot there’s a risk of heatstroke and light clothing isn’t enough. I had never heard of having only heating available in May, and it was very unpleasant. At dinner buffet time just before opening, even though guests were lined up waiting to enter, a female staff member was taking photos with her phone in multiple places—maybe for Instagram or something—but I don’t think that should be done where guests can see it right in front of them. Also, the teacups and saucers in the Room were dusty—it made me wonder if no one had used this Room during Golden Week. Seeing (and feeling) visible dust on the cups and even on the kettle made everything seem unhygienic. The basement entrance had blown-in dead leaves and didn’t seem well cleaned; the parking lot also had weeds and dead leaves. It was narrow as well—you basically had to pull forward to unload luggage. We also used the bath in our Room; when I thought the drainage was extremely slow, I found that the drain was clogged. The meals and Onsen were very good overall, which makes this disappointing. Please improve cleanliness and hygiene standards.

The Onsen and the meals were both excellent.
We stayed here for a spring break trip to Hakone with my daughter and grandchild. Given the season and the influx of international visitors, we expected Hakone to be expensive overall, so we searched with that in mind. We wanted to visit the Pola Museum of Art and the Venetian Glass Museum, and while looking for a nearby Hotel, we found this one. The price was reasonable considering it included breakfast and dinner, so we were really looking forward to it. On the first day it drizzled, and on the second day it poured, so the weather was disappointing—but the Hotel was excellent. Perhaps it has been renovated after a change in management; both the lobby and restaurant were clean and beautiful. Our Room was a Japanese-style room that felt a bit dated, but it was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The Onsen was wonderful—truly relaxing. Meals were buffet-style; there wasn’t a huge selection, but everything was delicious. Above all, every staff member provided outstanding service. Since we live in Osaka we can’t visit often, but this is a Hotel we would love to return to. Thank you for helping us make such great memories.

Repeat Guests’ Accommodation
This Hotel is a consistently reliable Accommodation. I stay here about twice a year. The buffet offers a wide variety of dishes, and I find the food very satisfying. The Onsen has milky-white water, and I especially like that it keeps you warm for a long time afterward. I would like to stay here again if I have another opportunity.

The hot water was excellent.
I stayed here because it was reasonably priced compared with other Hotels in Hakone. I was satisfied to be able to enjoy a high-quality Onsen with a one-night stay including breakfast and dinner. The Onsen temperature was just right. The Hotel’s public areas were new and clean, but the Room felt dated. In particular, the bidet toilet seat was quite old. Although it was a non-smoking Room, there were cigarette burn marks on the cover draped over the sofa. (The Room did not smell.) The Room size was more than adequate. It was also convenient that there was a basket for going to the large public bath. Regarding the buffet meals: dinner was satisfying, while breakfast was average. The dining hall staff were pleasant. However, there is no restroom in the dining area, so you have to go to another floor, which is very inconvenient. The toothpaste in the Room was light blue and had an unpleasant taste like soda jelly. Is it for children? I would have preferred a normal one. I’ve listed several complaints, but the front desk staff were polite and overall I felt it offered good value for money. Thank you for your hospitality.

This was my second stay. The bathroom is spacious, and the Onsen is incredibly relaxing and comfortable. If I had one wish, it would be to have access even late at night—I wanted to soak in it again and again. The buffet meals were all delicious, and I was very satisfied. I ate too much jumbo asparagus. I’d love to stay here again.

Affordable and satisfying
We stayed the night before a public holiday, just as a couple. There were many families, so it was lively, but I think that’s because it’s reasonably priced. After heavy snowfall, all roads except the Tomei Expressway were closed. Even on the Tomei, traffic moved very slowly, so we called in advance to let them know we would be late for check-in. At check-in, the Hotel staff member was from overseas, but they were very polite and used beautiful Japanese. They kindly acknowledged how long the trip had taken and took good care of us. The cloudy Onsen water warms you up so much that you keep sweating for a while after your bath. It was excellent water. However, it was disappointing that the washing areas in both the men’s and women’s baths were cold. The changing room was also cold, though I wondered if that temperature was set with after-bath comfort in mind.

Family Trip
We stayed for two nights in a Japanese-Western style Room with our two elementary school-aged children. We used the Hakone Free Pass from Shinjuku. We were a little worried about access, but the trip was not particularly difficult. What we liked - The dinner and breakfast buffets - The baths were spacious, with multiple tubs - There were board games in the lobby and a paid table tennis table, which our kids enjoyed - The Room had two sinks, which was convenient What we noticed - We checked in at 3:00 PM, but the futons had already been laid out, so we couldn’t use it as a tatami room during the day - Perhaps due to the season and the large Room size, it was quite dry - The heated toilet seat wasn’t working properly and felt cold. It became warm after they checked it on the second day, but we still couldn’t use functions like the bidet spray. - Amenities in the public bath are minimal, so it’s better to prepare properly in your Room Overall, despite a few issues, we had a good two days.

Is it 4 on IKYU?
I’ve always trusted IKYU when choosing an Accommodation, but honestly, I don’t feel this Hotel deserves its overall rating of 4.35. Considering the low price, what you get is about what you’d expect, so it’s not that the Hotel is bad… I just want to be more careful going forward and look at Review scores with the price range in mind. Many of the staff were from overseas, but everyone was pleasant and working hard, so there were no issues. The Deluxe Western-style Room didn’t feel particularly “deluxe,” and the view was of the South Wing across from us, but it was very spacious—about right for around four people. I think a lot of thought has gone into the meals. For a reasonable price, there are various services in the lobby; a bus stop and convenience store are nearby; the bath area is spacious; and the dining area is quite large so there was no waiting time. Overall, the Room and meals felt decent—nothing outstanding, but not bad either. I think younger travelers or families with small children would enjoy it. It feels more like a Yahoo Travel pick than an IKYU one.
- 4.50しのやま게시일: 2026. 2. 3.
The meals were excellent.
Both dinner and breakfast were buffet-style, and the dinner in particular had very few “filler” items added just to increase the number of dishes. I visited with my middle-school son and my spouse, and it was among the best buffet meals we’ve had at any Hotel. My son is a picky eater, but he tried many different dishes, which was a big help. It was also nice that there is table tennis. However, because the table is white, my husband (who has poor eyesight) could hardly see the ball. When making a Reservation, they only asked for our preferred time and did not provide pricing information. When we went to pick up the equipment to play, we were told it costs 500 yen. If you don’t want to charge it to your Room, it’s best to have your wallet with you at that time. The Onsen and the Room feel a bit old, but I thought they were sufficient. The water is milky white and warms you up well, and there is also a small sauna. Since it said “fully renovated,” I imagined a newer-looking Room, but the in-room bath and sink had a nostalgic feel from 30–40 years ago, and the ventilation fan did not work at all. If you go expecting everything to look clean and brand-new throughout, it may feel different from what you imagined. Still, the food was better than expected, so I might stay again if I have another chance.

Relax and unwind
This time, I had been interested ever since watching a video a year ago. I was finally able to stay here as I had hoped. In conclusion, I’m satisfied. I was able to relax and take my time. If I could ask for one thing, I’d be happy if you could offer a wider variety of Japanese dishes on the menu. The Onsen is not free-flowing, but it warmed me up very well. My muscle soreness also went away. The acidic cloudy water is quite nice too. If I have the opportunity again, I would like to stay here again.

Had a great time in Hakone after a long while.
We visited the accommodation with my family and my wife's mother. Upon arrival, the reception lounge was very crowded, but we enjoyed two types of sweets and tea (I opted for a paid alcoholic drink). The meals, which we were looking forward to, were satisfying. My family was also very pleased. The asparagus wrapped in meat was especially delicious. The roast beef was slightly overcooked and a bit tough, but still tasty. The bath had an open-air section where the cold air created a misty atmosphere inside; however, the Onsen itself had excellent water quality that we thoroughly enjoyed. Afterward, we also enjoyed karaoke together as a family and had a wonderful time overall. For breakfast the next morning, the omelet was very delicious. The fish was also tasty. The North Wing and South Wing are connected underground, so it’s better to use that route for convenience. While you can move between them on the first floor as well, there is a smoking area along that path which might be unpleasant for non-smokers due to its strong smell. Overall though, considering the price point, it was a highly satisfying stay (perhaps because our expectations weren’t set too high). If given another opportunity in the future, I would love to visit again!
