    The photos on the website are beautiful, but as this is a charming, old-fashioned auberge, you may feel a gap if you arrive expecting a brand-new property. The meals are excellent, the Accommodation staff are kind, and they work hard to keep the Facility clean. If you visit with the following points in mind, you will likely be very satisfied. ・Cash payment only ・No Wi-Fi ・The private bath is at an ordinary home level and cannot be locked (there is only an “in use” sign). Due to the location, insects may occasionally get inside. ・The parking area is hard to find and is a short walk away across the road, so you will need to walk to the Accommodation. ・The amenity sleepwear appears old and is a shirt-dress style ・Hard pillows; thin futons.

    It’s fine if you’re just going there for the food.

    If you’re visiting Nasu just for a meal, this may be a good choice, but if you have other plans and will be staying overnight, I recommend being cautious. There is no flexibility with timing: dinner is fixed at 6:00 PM and breakfast at 8:00 AM. Since the owner handles both cooking and payment, even if you request checkout during breakfast time, you may be kept waiting. I was there for a golf trip, so breakfast timing was tight; even after adjusting our tee time and arriving at the restaurant at 8:00 AM, we were made to wait 30 minutes and ultimately left without eating to head to the golf course. Also, payment is cash only. I only found out at checkout, had to rush to a convenience store for cash, and it was very stressful. Whether because the owner is stubborn or due to age, the service level felt low and it was exhausting.
