    Thank you for your warm hospitality!

    We stayed the day after a Level 5 Special Heavy Rain Warning was issued. We were told that a Cancellation Fee would of course apply, so we debated until the last minute whether to cancel. However, we were informed there would be no impact from the rain, and public transportation was running, so we went ahead with our girls’ trip. The river directly below the Hotel was muddy from the rain, but thanks to the wonderful hospitality—especially from the proprietress and all staff—we had an excellent stay and truly felt their warm care. While enjoying delicious coffee after breakfast, I wondered what the large, colorful flags by the terrace entrance of the lobby lounge were for. That question was answered soon after. After checkout, as we rode a trolley train in the rain and spotted the Hotel, we saw those big colorful flags waving from the terrace toward us! Even as we got quite far away—until we could no longer see the Hotel—they kept waving them for us. It made us feel so warm and happy; it was an unexpected surprise. We made many more memories as well, and it became a lovely stay. Next time, I’d like to come back again when we’re blessed with better weather.

    Accommodation with a View of the Scenic Railway

    Although the building’s exterior shows its age, the inside was clean, and the Room was spacious and comfortable. We chose the light-meal Plan, but it didn’t feel lacking at all—we enjoyed a delicious, filling meal. As you’d expect from a region known for rice, the steamed white rice was excellent. The bath was also very relaxing. We could feel thoughtful, handmade hospitality throughout—such as messages addressed to each Room and markers for bath slippers. Thank you very much.

    I was bothered by th...

    I was bothered by the smell of cigarettes. I was also concerned that the Room toilet was small. The food was delicious. There was a whole abalone. The service when serving the meals was also good. It was easy to play table tennis. The staff responded flexibly to our requests.

    It was a very nice Hotel.

    I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay in July. The reasons I chose this Accommodation were that I could see the Kurobe Gorge trolley train running from my Room, and that meals were not buffet-style. After a series of stays at large high-rise Hotels, I had grown tired of the hectic atmosphere of breakfast and dinner buffets. It did not disappoint: right up until close to checkout, whenever I heard the whistle I would go to the window and never tired of watching the trolley train go by, and above all, the food was delicious. I had breakfast and dinner four times in total; each dish was beautifully presented with well-balanced seasoning, the fish was excellent, service was well-timed, and I was very satisfied. The cleaning was thorough, the staff were pleasant, the large public bath was spacious and relaxing—there is nothing to fault. It has a slightly retro Showa-era feel, but for middle-aged and older guests (myself included), it may actually be calming. The kind and beautiful proprietress in a kimono looked like she had stepped out of a TV drama. I would love to stay again.

    Warm, heartfelt hospitality

    The building is old, but the Accommodation is clean, the meals are delicious, and the Onsen offers a wonderful view. On our way back, we mistakenly got the trolley time wrong. Even though the Shuttle Service had just departed, you kindly came to pick us up. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks to you, we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery from the trolley—thank you very much. If we come to Unazuki again, we would love to stay at your Accommodation.

    Table tennis table available.

    We were guided to the room with an offer to carry our luggage from the front desk, but as we carried it ourselves, the staff member returned to the front desk after being caught in the closing elevator door without providing further guidance. We managed to reach our room on the 6th floor but were unsure of what their guidance meant. The dining area tables resembled ping-pong tables in a gymnasium. The room had no windows and felt like a large gymnasium with six ping-pong table-like setups. There was no music playing, and conversations from neighboring "ping-pong tables" could be heard clearly, leading everyone to whisper. It made for an uncomfortable dining experience overall.

    This was my first vi...

    This was my first visit to Unazuki Onsen. I had known the name of Hotel Kurobe before, and despite its age, it was a charming accommodation with a sense of cleanliness and heartfelt hospitality. I saw the proprietress warmly waving to both guests and the trolley train. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    Customer service is rated 5 stars.

    The staff were truly kind, humorous, and provided five-star service. Since it was a low-cost plan, I didn’t have high expectations for the room, but the view from the window was nice. There was some stubborn dirt (possibly vomit?) on the bathroom floor in the room. I wiped it off with water and toilet paper. The large public bath felt like a sauna due to trapped steam; better ventilation would be appreciated. The open-air bath was enjoyable. The morning coffee service was excellent—true to its origins as a café, the coffee tasted great. However, there was a noticeable moldy smell. Please maintain your excellent customer service skills and keep up the good work! Thank you for your hospitality.

    The food is delicious.

    The view from the Room was great, the scenery from the open-air bath was also wonderful, and the food was delicious, making the beer even more enjoyable. It was a fantastic experience.

    Enjoyed a relaxing bath with views of snow and the moon.

    This was my first visit. Despite the snowfall, the shuttle service from Unazuki Onsen Station was very helpful. The indoor bath had large windows offering a view of the snowy landscape, and while the outdoor Onsen had a comfortable depth, its smaller size felt a bit disappointing. The dinner plan with smaller portions was just right for me. The room seemed to have been renovated in a modern Japanese style, making it warm and comfortable; however, perhaps because it was on the entrance floor, I found the hallway and dining area slightly chilly. It would have been nice if the changing area were warmer too, though this might be due to the cold weather that day. All staff members were friendly with warm smiles, and I look forward to visiting again in another season!
