    It was excellent!

    Thank you very much for taking care of us during our 4-night Multiple Night Stay. This time, we stayed in the “Oryu” Room. First of all, every staff member was incredibly kind and clearly loves animals. Everyone greeted us with a smile, was gentle and attentive, brought anything we needed right away, and did their best to accommodate our requests. I’m truly grateful—your staff deserves more than five stars. Next, the meals. We were told they were prepared in a special-suite style, and both the taste and quality were excellent—high standard, delicious, and thoughtfully varied. Even over several days, we never got tired of them and enjoyed every meal. With longer stays, menus can sometimes become difficult for the kitchen side as well, but you handled everything so carefully. Since I’m also a small eater, you kindly let me choose from the menu and adjusted portion sizes accordingly. This also deserves more than five stars. As mentioned earlier, your care for animals was also very thoughtful and helpful. I visited with both a dog and a cat, and it seemed comfortable for both of them. The hot spring water quality was also wonderful. As for the guest room layout: there is a long corridor between the Room area and the bath area, which felt slightly inconvenient, so I deducted one star there. On the other hand, having an additional Room separate from the main living space made it easy to stay comfortably even when traveling with friends—an excellent design. Regarding amenities: there are no pet amenities provided (so bringing your own is necessary), but having at least a litter box available would be very helpful. The surroundings were also fantastic—like a hidden mountain hamlet. By chance we were able to see “Children’s Kagura,” which has deep history and is clearly cherished by the community. The performers practice extensively (twice a week), and while they are indeed children (apparently ranging from 3rd grade elementary school to 3rd year high school), their performance was outstanding and truly impressive. If your dates happen to coincide with it during your stay nearby, it’s absolutely worth seeing. (It seems Kagura is held several times a year; I’d love to see other performances as well.) I also felt that preserving traditional Japanese festivals like this is part of what makes this area so special—and I think it may become even more well-known in the future. It’s about 30 minutes by car to Yufuin Station, so even on an extended stay you can easily go shopping for necessities. Sightseeing around Yufuin should be convenient as well—and Beppu is also about 30 minutes away via expressway—so overall it feels like an excellent location for travelers who want to explore.

    Your First Visit to Yufuin Onsen

    While browsing Reviews for an Accommodation where we could stay with our pet, natural Onsen, and dining options, we found Takakatsu and decided to stay there. The hospitality, guest room, water quality, cuisine, and the Onsen town—all were more than satisfying. However, while the amount of food was sufficient for us as a couple, it might feel a bit small for younger guests. We will be back again.

    As always, delicious.

    This was my first visit in a long time since COVID. We enjoyed delicious meals, starting with fresh sashimi. In our favorite Room, we never ran out of things to talk about with friends. I was so happy to soak in the private Onsen bath in the Room three times. We came by train, and the Shuttle Service to Yufuin Station was very helpful for us since we don’t drive. On the way back, we were also able to stop by Yufuin for sightseeing, making it a perfect trip. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again.

    Wonderful Onsen

    We visited as a group of six: my spouse and I, plus our two daughters and another couple. We were also considering Yufuin Onsen, but after seeing the Reviews and photos of Takakatsu, it looked great, so we chose Yuhira Onsen instead. From arrival until checkout the next morning, we were truly satisfied with this Accommodation. The service was courteous, and each dish was carefully prepared with refinement—everything was unbelievably delicious. We stayed in the detached Room called “Ryoma,” and even our daughters, who are very particular about cleanliness, were pleased. We could feel thoughtful attention to detail in the open-air bath in the Room, the indoor bath, washbasin area, and toilet as well. We had no complaints at all and enjoyed a comfortable stay throughout. We love Onsen and have stayed at many Ryokan, but this was the best Ryokan we’ve ever experienced—I would highly recommend it to everyone. We hope to visit again someday.

    We traveled with our dog to an Accommodation my friend has stayed at many times. The meals were delicious, and the Onsen was so pleasant we could have stayed in it forever. The Room was excellent as well—no odors, and we were very satisfied. However, although we paid the pet fee, there were no supplies provided for dogs (we had been informed in advance and brought everything ourselves, so it wasn’t a problem), which was a bit disappointing. They also gave us detailed directions; although the road required turning back once, we arrived without getting lost. If we have the chance, we will visit again. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation that Warms Both Body and Soul

    An Accommodation in a quiet setting away from central Yufuin. Our Room was “Edo,” and it was spacious enough even for our family of five adults. We also loved having a kotatsu. We chose the blissful fugu dinner course, and it truly lived up to its name—every dish was wonderful, and our whole family was very satisfied. Although it snowed heavily on the day of our stay, thanks to the outstanding hospitality of the staff, we enjoyed a time that warmed both body and soul.

    Enjoy with your dog!

    We visited for the first time, looking for an Onsen where we could stay with our dog. **Highlights** Onsen: The water made my skin feel smooth and was very pleasant. Meals: The sashimi was fresh, and everything was delicious. We also enjoyed dining in a private room, allowing us to spend quality family time without worrying about others. Room: We chose a room with a private bath as we wanted to stay with our dog. Both the room and the bath were spacious, clean, and comfortable. Service: All staff members were friendly and wonderful. **Other Notes** - Since there is an additional fee for dogs, it would have been nice if items like pet sheets, water bowls, or food dishes were provided.

    100% Satisfaction

    A small Onsen in the mountains, Yufuin Onsen. Although I was a bit anxious at first, from the moment of arrival to check-out, everything was wonderful—the staff's warm smiles, the room, the onsen, and the meals. It was an absolutely satisfying two-day stay. I would love to visit this accommodation again!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    We stayed for one night with the Anniversary Plan. The location was clearly listed on the website, so we had no trouble finding it. The staff at the accommodation were all kind and welcoming with bright smiles, leaving a great impression. The room had a cozy kotatsu, making it very relaxing. The onsen in the room was already prepared upon our arrival, allowing us to enjoy it immediately. Dinner was perfectly portioned, and the sashimi was exquisite. Instead of white rice, udon noodles were served; however, we added an optional room-made rice ball set which turned out to be delicious and a great choice. The cake and champagne provided were delightful, and the bouquet left us deeply moved. Breakfast wasn’t extravagant but featured delicious items like Saikyo-yaki fish and mentaiko that we thoroughly enjoyed. Although it's far away, this is an accommodation we'd love to visit again!
