An Accommodation You’ll Want to Stay at Again and Again
Ever since Hanashoden opened in Kyoto, I have always stayed in Umekoji. A new Hanashoden has opened in Omuro, so I stayed there right away. The courteous service, the cleanliness of the building, and the view from the private bath were all wonderful. Even though it is underground, you can see the night sky, and the design is thoughtfully done. Personally, I prefer Umekoji’s private baths because they have a larger garden and there are more of them. The guest Rooms are also carefully designed; for example, the TV is hidden so it doesn’t spoil the view from Rooms overlooking Ninna-ji Temple. The food was very delicious—especially breakfast. Being able to relax at side-by-side seating made it even better than dinner. Next time, since I visited Ninna-ji Temple this time, I would like to stay again during a season with pleasant weather.

Enjoy a quiet, relaxing stay.
A wonderful Accommodation has opened right in front of the World Heritage site Ninna-ji Temple. From before we even entered, the staff welcomed us warmly, guided us to our Room, and provided very attentive explanations. It felt like the highest level of hospitality—like staying at a luxury Ryokan from the Showa era. The Room features exquisite Nishijin-ori textiles throughout, adding a refined Kyoto touch in many places. The entire building is tatami-floored, which felt great underfoot, and since it is newly built, the fresh scent was very pleasant. In the lounge, you can relax quietly while looking out at Ninna-ji Temple. Dinner was served in a private room, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal made with seasonal ingredients—clearly prepared with great care by the chef. To celebrate our wedding anniversary, we were treated to a special cocktail. It paired well with the food and was delicious. The bath was excellent as expected, and it was always kept impeccably clean no matter when we went in, making it very comfortable to use. This Accommodation was outstanding in every way—I can’t write enough about it. Since children are not allowed to stay here, it’s perfect when you want peaceful time for adults only. Thank you to all the staff for your heartfelt hospitality. We’ve found another favorite Accommodation.
