  This is the first Accommodation where both you and your dog can enjoy such freedom!

  I’ve stayed at several Accommodations that welcome dogs, but this was the first place where I never once felt restricted “because we have a dog.” Surrounded by nature, it’s a truly soothing space for both people and dogs. I was amazed by the huge 1,200-tsubo lawn garden and even a pool where people can swim too. I was genuinely happy to be able to relax and let my dog roam freely. And I was surprised to be able to enjoy an Onsen in Chiba. What’s more, our Room had a luxurious open-air bath carved from a massive stone! Being able to enjoy the Onsen at any time without worrying about others was the best. Another great point for us was having a two-bedroom layout—an absolute must for our family. I never imagined traveling with our dog could be this comfortable, free, and luxurious… It truly was an amazing time. A wonderful Accommodation where both dogs and people can forget everyday life and fully unwind—we’d love to visit again.

  It was a wonderful trip.

  Thank you for taking care of us over the New Year holidays. It felt like a peaceful retreat, surrounded by the quiet of nature away from the crowds. The wood interior was calming, and our family was able to relax while our dog ran around the yard in excitement and enjoyed it to the fullest. The sukiyaki dinner, made with locally sourced ingredients, was excellent in both taste and portion size. The selection of wines was also very delicious. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes and was just as satisfying; the grilled salmon was perfectly cooked—fluffy and outstanding. We would love to stay at LAKOTAN again to enjoy the scenery that changes with each season.

  Coexisting with Nature

  In one word, this Accommodation is “nature.” I have stayed at many Accommodations across Japan, from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south, and I believe this is the place that offers the most immersive stay in nature. The Room design is simple, but I was impressed by the attention to detail in everything—from the architecture and furniture to the furnishings and amenities. The thermal spring (Onsen pool), available from early spring through autumn, is set into the middle of the lawn in a private garden, which made for a truly unique experience. The large rock open-air Onsen bath in the Room was also wonderful; the water had a slightly silky texture and warmed me through to my core. I also loved the cedar bench by the open-air bath. For dinner, we had Kazusa Wagyu sukiyaki. The fresh vegetables and beef were delicious, and I was very satisfied overall with everything from the tableware to the presentation. Since it was served in our Room, we could relax and enjoy it at our own pace. The next morning, we used the sauna. The sauna room has glass walls so you can enjoy the view, and because it is completely private, we could bring drinks in and even lie down—enjoying it exactly as we liked. With a cold plunge continuously filled with fresh groundwater, sunbeds, an open-air Onsen bath, and everything else you could want all in one place, I was so satisfied that I honestly felt it might be Japan’s best sauna. Most of the staff were young (mainly in their 20s), but they guided us with just the right amount of attentiveness while keeping a comfortable distance, which made us feel very at ease throughout our stay. I would love to visit again in a different season.

  I had a relaxing holiday.

  We stayed at the end of the year as a family of three with one dog. The staff's gentle service and perfect balance of attentiveness without being intrusive were excellent. You can experience extraordinary activities like night safaris and campfires, far from urban life. Truly, all you can hear are the sounds of nature—it's an amazing environment. The open-air baths in each Room were absolutely fantastic, and we used them multiple times.
