It was very comfortable!
We stayed here with three generations of our family at the end of summer. The Room we stayed in had three additional bedrooms besides the master bedroom, and since each was a private room, it felt very private and was extremely comfortable. There was also a wide hallway inside the Room, so the children happily ran around. The open-air bath in the Room was spacious and relaxing, and the men used the sauna (stone sauna) many times. The living room was also large—perfect for everyone to sit together and enjoy tea. The lounge was right next door, so we could quickly go get drinks, which made our stay very comfortable. Since dinner is not included, we made a Reservation for the buffet at Hotel Shimahana. With free-flow drinks included, it may be good value for those who drink a lot of alcohol, but if you have children or don’t drink, it felt fairly average for the price. Also, the space between where you pick up food and where you sit was narrow; we almost bumped into other guests, and getting back to our table required passing between other tables—so the layout/flow felt a bit disappointing. However, the seats we were shown to felt like a private room and were very comfortable. Normally there is boat transportation from Residence Villa to the Hotel, but unfortunately no boats were operating that day due to weather conditions. Instead, all nine of us—including a baby—were taken by Shuttle Service in a microbus, so we were able to move smoothly. Breakfast truly felt like something light—just bread, sausages, salad 정도—but since the lounge is next to our Room as well، they said it was fine to take it back to eat in our Room، which was also comfortable. (Other guests seemed to eat in the lobby.) We were able to use outdoor pool almost privately. There were no rentals such as inflatable rings، so you need bring your own items for playing. At checkout they took photos for us and saw us off until end; both Facility and service were excellent. Our elementary-school son said he wants come again next year! We often stay as family in whole-house rentals، but compared with places where there are no staff at all، this Accommodation let us enjoy benefits of renting an entire villa while still receiving services such as breakfast and Shuttle Service from staff، so I felt it is an excellent Facility. Thank you very much!

The Facility and service are excellent, but there are two issues.
The Facility and service were excellent, and it’s a place where I’d like to stay one more night or visit again. This is a recommended Accommodation. Unfortunately, there were two issues: 1. The shower in Room 106 had almost no water pressure, so I couldn’t wash my hair. I went somewhere else in the middle of the night to wash my hair. I would like enough water pressure in the Room shower to be able to wash my hair. 2. There was no lobby with staff on site at the Accommodation; if anything happened, I was told to scan a QR code and talk via smartphone. However, I could not access the system from my phone no matter how many times I tried. Even though I went there to relax, I had to struggle for a long time with setting up a smartphone system that didn’t work. Please place a telephone in the Room.

Three-Generation Family Trip
We stayed at this Accommodation to celebrate my husband’s parents’ golden wedding anniversary. The Room was much more spacious than we expected, and we were able to relax in great comfort. We also really appreciated being able to enjoy complimentary drinks, sweets, and light snacks whenever we wanted. However, we were a bit concerned about the attitude of the boat operator on the way to the annex Onsen, so we took the bus back. It was especially disappointing because the view from the boat was wonderful. All of the other staff were very kind and attentive. My parents-in-law were delighted as well, and it turned into a truly satisfying trip. Thank you very much.

Overall, it was a very satisfying accommodation.
The Room, bath, and lounge were all very nice. However, I was a bit disappointed with breakfast because the selection was too limited. If possible, could you consider allowing guests to use the Shimahana breakfast buffet?

The facilities are good, but there is room for improvement in service.
We stayed in a villa Room. The Room was spacious and wonderful, and we enjoyed both the in-room bath and the baths at other Facility locations we visited as part of the bath-hopping experience. However, the washing area of the in-room bath had an unpleasant smell, and we were also bothered by a chlorine smell in the Onsen. The staff did not seem to be well trained. There was no greeting on arrival and no welcoming words. Although they showed us around, there was no consideration such as offering to help carry our heavy suitcases. We upgraded to the charcoal-grilled course at Shima Hana’s grill restaurant. First of all, the salad seasoning was terrible—using a regular store-bought dressing would have been better. Please try it once. They may be spending money on ingredients, but it did not feel like carefully prepared food. There were issues with staff hospitality. Overall, their language was not polite, and we could clearly hear them chatting behind the scenes. There were many obvious things they could have done—for example, bringing two luggage baskets if there are four people, or speaking to guests who seem lost. While someone in our group was still eating—and with raw meat still on the table—they cleared nothing and brought dessert instead. Considering the price, we were especially disappointed with the dining staff.

A well-deserved getaway for two
I have visited Awaji Island many times, but on this trip I was truly impressed by the Room’s wonderful atmosphere—something you can’t find in the city. The garden view from the Room was beautiful, and the staff’s kind and attentive hospitality warmed my heart. The Chinese dinner included in the Plan was unlike anything I’ve had before and was absolutely delicious. Next time, I would like to stay here with my daughter.

Perfect as a private retreat for precious moments with your dog.
Our dog is now over 11 years old, and I can't help but wonder how many more times we can visit. This is already our fifth time since celebrating his 10th birthday here. Each time, we are moved by the Tange architecture of the Grand Villa and Garden Villa, while staying at the Glamping Garden—the only accommodation where dogs are allowed. We hope that someday dogs will also be able to stay in the Grand Villa or Garden Villa. For now, we enjoy a relaxing stay here. We've already made a reservation for his 12th birthday next time, but it seems quite popular as it's the only place where dogs can stay—reservations fill up even six months in advance! A true testament to its popularity.

We used the service to celebrate an 88th birthday, and the Room as well as the customer service were excellent, making it a truly memorable trip! We would love to use it again!

This was my fourth 2-night, 3-day stay, and once again, I am extremely satisfied.
The Glamping Villa is becoming our regular accommodation as we travel with our dog. Thank you to the staff for always providing excellent service even during busy times. Next time, we plan to visit in winter to enjoy fugu. The facility of the Grand Villa breakfast venue, designed by Tange Architecture, always leaves us in awe. Currently, it seems that staying with dogs is not allowed, but if accommodations for pets were made available, we would likely increase our visits from three times a year and use it as if it were our own vacation home due to the high level of satisfaction.

It was excellent.
We stayed here for the first time during our summer family trip with our elderly pet. While we had a general idea about the Room and outdoor Onsen, seeing it in person exceeded our expectations with its luxurious resort-like atmosphere, leaving both our family and pet very satisfied. The staff provided excellent service, attending to us late at night and again early the next morning, which made us feel truly cared for. The outdoor Onsen located underground was especially relaxing after using the sauna—a perfect space to unwind. Dinner was a barbecue feast featuring meat, lobster, amberjack fish, hearty chicken stew soup, ajillo, potato salad, and more—so much food that we couldn’t finish it all! Despite some critical Reviews we had read beforehand that made us worried initially, those concerns were completely unfounded. Breakfast was Western-style only but just right in terms of portion size and variety for us. One minor issue was that the flooring could be slippery for elderly pets; non-slip socks might be helpful in such cases. Other than that small concern, everything else was perfect—it turned out to be a trip everyone thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you so much!

The private bathroom is excellent.
I stayed in a 110-square-meter Room. The Room was very spacious, and the attached bath was particularly large, open, and extremely comfortable. On the other hand, the meals were slightly below expectations. I had dinner at the main building's buffet; the sea bream and yellowtail sashimi were very delicious. Additionally, the Indian-style keema curry had an excellent use of spices and was exquisite. The only downside was the steak—while some cuts were perfectly cooked and tasty, others had excessive fat or were overcooked and dry, which made for inconsistent quality. Overall, I was satisfied with the flavors; however, as someone who doesn't eat much quantity-wise, I felt that 7,000 yen for this meal seemed a bit overpriced.

This was my fourth stay. This time, I stayed in Garden Villa A on the first floor. The Plan included no dinner, a default light breakfast, late check-in, and early check-out at a great value. The Room in Villa A has less of a view compared to the second floor but is compact and comes with a hammock and table on the balcony, which is a nice touch. If it weren’t for the extreme heat, spending long hours on the balcony would be very pleasant. The cleanliness of the Room and well-equipped amenities including cooking utensils make it perfect for relaxing indoors—a unique charm of Residence Villas that I truly enjoy. Being right next to the free lounge makes it convenient to grab drinks like alcohol from there, which I really appreciate. If possible, adding wine during bar time at night would be great so guests wouldn’t need to bring their own wine—please consider this suggestion. As for the open-air bath in Villa A (my second time using this Room), its spacious changing area stands out compared to other Rooms. The sliding door directly connects the changing area with the open-air bath space where there’s also a shower room—making access very convenient without much walking distance involved; I love this feature as well! The open-air bath itself is spacious and comfortable enough for long use—it was excellent overall! While there’s no dissatisfaction with the bath itself, being located on ground level facing an open garden means bugs or leaves often get into it; having nets available nearby for scooping them out would be greatly appreciated! Especially after 12 AM when garden lights are turned off—bugs tend to swarm toward bathing areas more frequently then—so providing nets would help immensely here too! One minor note: unfortunately during my stay—the battery in health scales within changing areas had run out. Regarding meals—I always choose Plans without dinner (bringing my own) when staying at Residence Villas so can only comment about breakfast—but even though buffet options aren’t extensive—they’re always delicious & nutritionally sufficient leaving me satisfied every time! Thank you especially for preparing waffles regularly along with fresh orange juice makers allowing guests like myself fun opportunities making fresh juice ourselves! To management: thank you again sincerely—for your attentive care—from assisting luggage transfers down-to EV charging arrangements—it’s deeply appreciated each visit made memorable because-of-you-all's efforts ensuring comfort throughout stays here consistently wonderful experiences altogether looking forward returning soon hopefully again someday soon ahead!!

Multiple Night Stay Required
Spacious layout, making it feel like a single night stay is not enough. Next time, I would like to opt for a Multiple Night Stay. Dinner was provided at a sushi restaurant in the city, accessible by taxi. The interior was clean and lovely. The à la carte dishes were delicious, but the nigiri felt somewhat careless, which was slightly disappointing.

Normally, satisfaction decreases over time, but it's impressive that it has increased. The cleanliness of the Facility was better the second time, and the meals were also upgraded. I will visit again soon.

Everything was satisfactory!
I stayed at the villa. Traveling by boat was pleasant and exciting. The room was clean, the interior was wonderful, and the well-maintained spacious garden and open-air bath exceeded all expectations. The hotel staff were kind and provided pleasant service. I have stayed in various places, but this is in my top five. The only disappointment was that while our suitcases were transported with us on the boat on the way there, we had to carry them ourselves on the way back, and the swaying bridge was a bit dangerous and challenging. I wanted to leave feeling good until the end.

Your beloved dog will have a blast in the spacious dog run!
We stayed one night in a glamping villa with our two beloved dogs. The dog run was spacious and well-maintained, which made our dogs very happy. The onsen was also spacious, clean, and pleasant. However, despite being a glamping villa, dogs were not allowed inside the glamping dome, so we ended up staying only in the regular room at the back. It was disappointing as we were looking forward to it. We hope they will at least allow dogs to enter with manners pants. Also, like the same series' Biwafront, there is no particular focus on in-room dining, which is always disappointing. The meat for yakiniku and shabu-shabu is very delicious, but the appetizers and side dishes seem to be leftovers from the morning buffet. The taste is not good at all. This time, there was also tomato soup? but I could only take one bite. The luxurious room and the level of food are unbalanced, and for a room costing over 100,000 yen for two people, I wish they would pay more attention to the food. However, the dog run in this room was the best we've ever experienced at any property, and the open-air bath was spacious and very satisfying. Since it was mostly self-service, we hardly saw any hotel staff, which allowed us to relax without feeling self-conscious. If the food improves, it would be a property we would want to repeat many times.

As always, I was really able to relax.
Thank you for always taking care of us. On the first day, despite the unfortunate weather, we spent a relaxing time and enjoyed the open-air bath in our room. On the second day, after breakfast, we went to the pool early and enjoyed the pool and poolside under an unexpectedly clear autumn sky. Even during holidays and the year-end and New Year period, it never feels crowded, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely time, so we have visited many times. We look forward to our next visit as well.
