    We had a relaxing stay.

    Even though I was already feeling disappointed because of the rain, I felt even more disappointed once I arrived. There was nowhere covered, so my luggage got soaked when unloading, and the Accommodation’s parking lot was already full so I had to move my car to another location. At check-in, I was just left there after being told to fill something out. I found out later that there was a welcome service with tea and Japanese sweets. No one mentioned it at all. I felt let down from the very beginning. The Room layout is good and it’s easy to use, but although it has probably only been about 10 years since it was built, it already felt quite old. The bath water is nice, but because it’s wood it felt slippery and unpleasant; even though I wanted to soak multiple times, it ruined the mood for me. It’s nice that there are drinks and snacks by the elevator area. The lounge also has various drinks and sweets, which is great, but popular items don’t seem to get replenished. Also, I had seen in a Review that they had Häagen-Dazs ice cream, so I went after my bath looking forward to it—but it was Lady Borden instead, which was disappointing. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. One thing that disappointed me is that since this is an all-inclusive Accommodation, I would have been happier if drinks during meals were not charged separately as well. I like Kyoritsu and have used their properties in many places; this time I had especially high expectations because this is an annex for adults only, so my Review ended up being a bit harsh—but overall I’m satisfied. Next time I’ll come again to relax more slowly.

    Room odor

    I was surprised that the Room we first used for meals smelled like a toilet. When I mentioned it to the staff, I was told it was due to the weather, which surprised me again. I would like something to be done about that odor. Other than that, I have no complaints. The food was delicious.

    For two people (my mother and me)

    Because I checked in at 5:00 PM, I didn’t realize there were tea sweets and matcha and missed them. That was the only disappointment, but I was satisfied with everything else.

    Improved service

    This is my fourth stay (fourth year), and it feels even better than before. Not that it was ever bad… I’ll definitely keep coming back (lol).

    Because it’s Hakone.

    I often stay at Kyoritsu Resort Onsen Accommodations, but this is the first time I’ve felt it wasn’t worth the price. The meals, in particular, were disappointing. The large public bath is there, but there’s no space to relax. Since I stayed at another Kyoritsu Group Accommodation in Akita last month at a similar price and it was excellent, I couldn’t help comparing.

    It was a wonderful Ryokan.

    We stayed here to celebrate his birthday! It’s within walking distance from Gora Station, but the steep uphill climb was hot and exhausting this time of year (lol). After check-in, we were served tea and sweets, which was a lovely touch and helped us relax. With three private baths, an open-air bath in the Room, and a large public bath, we checked in early—and it was the right choice because we were able to enjoy them all at a leisurely pace. The lounge is available 24 hours a day as well, so we could use it without worrying about the time. Both dinner and breakfast offered selectable menu options, which was great since everyone has different preferences. The portions were just right, and everything was delicious. Above all, the staff were wonderful and very hospitable—this is a Ryokan we’d definitely like to stay at again when visiting Hakone!

    Enjoy Hakone for the First Time

    This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

    Exceptional hospitality

    I stayed here with my mother in her 80s. From reception and guidance to the dining staff, everyone treated us with heartfelt, dignified attentiveness, and we were able to spend a truly comfortable time from arrival to departure. The Room and baths were impeccably clean—there wasn’t a single cobweb anywhere, including in the open-air bath. The decor and interior touches were stylish, and every breakfast and dinner was a delight for both the eyes and the palate. It had been a long time since I’d been able to relax at such a flawless Accommodation. Thank you very much!

    An Accommodation You’ll Want to Return To

    The in-Room Onsen, complimentary drinks, and the pleasant hospitality of the staff all make this a great Accommodation overall. Amenities are well provided in the large public bath, but I would also like facial lotion in the Room. The meals are very delicious, but breakfast portions are too large for me to finish. I’m concerned about food waste and don’t want to leave food behind, so I’d like an option for a smaller portion size in addition to Japanese and Western breakfasts.

    I stayed here to celebrate my partner’s birthday.

    Even though my Reservation was made fairly last-minute, the staff kindly helped with shipping a gift in advance and were very attentive on the day. The Room, meals, and service were all excellent as well. I will definitely visit again.

    Disappointing in every way.

    I booked a parking-lot-side view, but I was surprised at how extremely close the parking lot was. I was also concerned that staff waiting in the parking area were facing toward the guest rooms, to the point that I hesitated to use the open-air bath in my Room right after check-in. Even after asking at the front desk, they repeatedly insisted that “it can’t be seen from the parking lot,” with no solution offered. In the end, I had to crouch down from the washing area to enter the open-air bath, and I couldn’t relax. This time I made a Reservation under a maternity Plan, so dinner for one person was prepared as a maternity meal. While they avoided serving raw ingredients, I was surprised by how much lower in quality it felt compared with the original menu—for example, sashimi being replaced with four steamed shrimp and no alternative provided for caviar. There were complimentary drinks and ice available, but there were times when spoons and cups were not replenished, which was frustrating. As for the ramen served after dinner, it seems orders can only be placed starting at 10:00 p.m. by guests already seated in the lounge. When we arrived at exactly 10:00 p.m., it was already full. There was no explanation on site (and no signage), so many guests didn’t know what to do, which caused significant confusion. This was by far my most disappointing stay among Accommodations I have previously reserved through IKYU.

    Exactly as expected.

    Rooms & Amenities: A larger hairbrush may be necessary for women. It was great that the Wi-Fi connected smoothly without any issues. Service: The service was excellent, with no problems at all. When calling the main number, we were routed through a call center several times; it would be helpful if a direct number were posted more clearly. Onsen & Bath: At a Facility of this level, I expected bath towels and small towels to be provided in the public bath area. For the in-Room open-air bath, it would be nicer if the lid looked a bit more presentable, especially since the tub itself was cleaner than at other Facilities. The water stayed warm until morning, which was wonderful. The attached shower room had good water pressure and a chair, making it very comfortable to sit and wash my hair. Facility & Equipment: My companion said the spa was very good, though fitting it in around dinner time was difficult. Meals: The portions were just right—delicious, beautifully presented, and exactly as expected. The late-night soba (ramen) exceeded expectations and was very tasty; it was extremely popular. Service during meals was exceptionally smooth as well. It was nice to have Häagen-Dazs and individually packaged snacks available, and the individual milk packs were also appreciated. Next time, we’d like to come with our children as a family.

[Lobby & First Floor] ・You take off your shoes at the entrance,, and the staff will put them away for you.. Inside,, you go barefoot or wear socks/tabi (provided inin theroom). ・For check-in,, we were shown to a private dining room.. At that time we received complimentary fruit dessertdessertand tea.. They said it was homemade,,and it was very delicious. ・There is aa 24-hour shop,,and you can choose aa colored yukata there to wear insideinside theryokan).     We were able to relax very comfortably.

    Overall, we were able to relax very much. The in-room Onsen, the view from the bath, and the clean feel of both the Facility and the Room made our stay very comfortable. However, while everything about the meals—the taste and presentation—was excellent, there was simply too much food for us now that we are older. We would love to see a Plan with smaller portions.

    Accommodation ruined due to false alarm of fire detector.

    I had a comfortable stay from check-in until the evening. The room with an open-air bath was also nice. However, after 3 a.m., the fire alarm siren and announcements went off several times until check-out. Due to this malfunction, I couldn't sleep at all. During breakfast, there was only a brief apology from the staff in charge of meals, but no other apologies were made. I had been looking forward to staying at this accommodation, but due to these incidents, I was left with no positive impressions.

    I was very satisfied.

    We visited for the first time in two years to enjoy the New Year. Our main purpose was to watch the Hakone Ekiden, and once again, we had a wonderful stay. The early check-in time was very convenient. The Japanese sweets provided were all elegant and incredibly delicious. Preparing matcha tea was a unique experience—slightly nerve-wracking but enjoyable nonetheless. Personally, I was impressed by the Ekiden-themed beer cans during our last visit and hoped to see them again this time, though I understand it might be challenging to provide them regularly. Looking forward to visiting again with high expectations!

    Moved by the shooting stars

    The accommodation was close to Gora Station and had a large number of guest rooms. We stayed in a spacious and clean room on the 4th floor. The 24-hour free drink service was convenient, allowing us to enjoy coffee easily after meals. There were private baths and large public baths, offering an indulgent Onsen experience. Meals were served in semi-private dining spaces, providing a sense of privacy, and later courses allowed us to choose dishes, which made it enjoyable. The bathroom in our room was made of cypress wood with non-circulating water, so we filled it ourselves and enjoyed soaking in the pleasant hot water. The clear night sky allowed us to watch shooting stars while bathing, which was truly moving. In the morning, we were able to witness the sunrise, which was another breathtaking moment. It made me want to stay here during New Year's Day or other special occasions. Many young staff members worked efficiently and attentively throughout our stay. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    A Fulfilling Stay in Gora

    The service, the room with an open-air bath, and the all-inclusive experience were all satisfying. What impressed me the most was the "Zen Course" at Sushi Zen. Not only was the sushi excellent, but also enjoying perfectly paired drinks with free-flow options made it a truly satisfying dinner that eased my daily fatigue. Thank you very much.

    We stayed here for a trip to Hakone to celebrate my wife's birthday. The staff were all very kind and accommodating, making our stay extremely comfortable. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the baths were excellent. We also thoroughly enjoyed the post-bath treats, including Haagen-Dazs ice cream, draft beer, alcoholic beverages, and soft drinks. It was a wonderful experience for the two of us to relax and spend quality time together. We would love to visit again!

    I visited for a babymoon and was able to truly relax. The Room had an open-air bath, which I thoroughly enjoyed, and my husband was delighted with the complimentary all-you-can-drink beer.     Second stay this year

    Having stayed once and had an unexpectedly wonderful experience, I returned within a few months. The room is spacious with four beds and a large private open-air bath, offering a relaxing layout. The accommodation provides beverages and tea snacks, ensuring no shortage of drinks during the stay. While the public bath is somewhat small, the private baths and in-room baths make up for it, providing satisfaction. There are many steps near the baths, which might be slightly challenging for elderly guests; however, the calm atmosphere of the accommodation makes it a place I'd like to visit with my parents. The dining area has partitioned seating for enjoying meals at ease. I would love to visit again when time allows; however, I’ve noticed that prices have increased recently, which is a bit concerning. Looking forward to visiting again!

    We had a wonderful time!

    Arrived at Suiun amidst worries about a typhoon on the day of travel. Although we were brought by shuttle service from Setsugetsuka, a staff member with an umbrella quickly came to assist us, allowing us to enter the building without getting wet despite the heavy rain. Thank you very much. The initial explanation about the ryokan was thorough, and when they emphasized details about Häagen-Dazs in an important manner, it made my partner laugh and created a warm and pleasant atmosphere. The room was absolutely wonderful beyond words, reaffirming our choice to stay here. The meals were all exceptional, leaving my partner deeply impressed. The male staff member who attended to us explained each dish with great effort, and the timing of serving new dishes was impeccable. Thank you for your hospitality. After dinner, we received the cake we had ordered along with a delightful surprise gift of chopsticks—such a thoughtful gesture that made us very happy. All the staff members greeted us with smiles throughout our stay, making it an incredibly pleasant experience. This visit truly made me want to stay at Suiun again in the future. Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us!

    It was a wonderful accommodation with a lovely Onsen and great staff.

    I arrived right at the 2:00 PM check-in time to fully enjoy the Ryokan and made the most of my stay until the last moment before check-out. For both dinner and breakfast, there were options to choose ingredients, and we selected different items from each other. Both were delicious, which made it a wonderful experience. I would definitely love to visit again!

    We had a wonderful time.

    It was a trip with my elderly parents. The facility had tatami flooring throughout, so no slippers were needed, and the Room had almost no steps, ensuring safety. The staff were all kind and helpful. I would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality.
